I visited Shayona Sweets & Savouries at Rosehill, hoping to enjoy some pani puri and try something new, as I’ve had good experiences at their Harrow location in the past. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. The tamarind chutney served with the pani puri was clearly spoiled, with an off taste that ruined the dish. When I brought this to the owner’s attention, I was met with rudeness and dismissal. Instead of an apology or an offer to replace the item, the owner brushed it off, claiming it’s “normal” for food to spoil in hot weather. This excuse was unacceptable—hot weather or not, serving spoiled food is a serious issue, and the lack of accountability was shocking.
Having visited the Harrow branch many times and enjoyed their fresh snacks and great service, I expected better from Rosehill. The contrast is stark, and it’s clear this location isn’t upholding the same standards. The owner’s attitude made the experience even worse, showing no care for customer satisfaction. Reading other reviews online, it seems I’m not alone in my frustration, with complaints about quality and service popping up frequently. It feels like the business might be struggling, and the owner’s approach isn’t helping. If this is a family business, as it seems, the current management appears to be running it into the ground. I won’t be returning to the Rosehill location, and I’d caution others to think twice before visiting. Hopefully, they address these issues before it’s too late, but based on this experience and other reviews, I wouldn’t be surprised if they close soon.
