Shea's 710 Theatre

First time seeing a show at Shea's 710. Great experience. Watched White Christmas. Had far right seats in rows L & M. Views were still great. Seats were large, comfy and plenty of leg room. Look forward to seeing more performances there.

This is a nice intimate theatre to see a show. Ticket prices were fair and since it’s a small theatre there really aren’t any bad seats. They have a little bar area in the lobby and in addition to wine and beer had special cocktails to go with the theme of the show. The performance itself was awesome- very nice acoustics, great lighting, and a talented cast. We’ll definitely be back!

This is a small theater. Recently refurbished. Clean and bright. Theater seating is comfortable with plenty of leg room. Acoustics are awesome. There's a bar, snack counter to purchase drinks or snacks and seating area to enjoy before entering the theater to see show. I saw Dream Girls. Such a phenomenal performance!

Excellent theater! We went there for our first time to see Legally Blond presented by Musicalfare. The theater is a very nice. It is a small cozy space. The seating is well teired and comfortable. The sound is excellent. There is a beautiful lobby with a bar, snack counter, and seating. Good restroom facilities. Overall, a great experience!

Very nice theatre with good views from any seat. We were seated in the middle of the 2nd row so our view of Grease was fantastic. The seats are comfortable with enough room for someone to pass without much inconvenience. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. Highly recommend this theatre for any event.

1st time there. Wonderful venue. All of the comfortable seats have a great view of the stage. Looking forward to seeing more shows.

I had a wonderful time attending the Sunday matinee of Murder on The Orient Express! It was a fantastic performance! Shea's 710 Theatre is hands down one of the best local theatres in Buffalo. Comfortable seating is very well positioned, so there is not a bad seat in the house. I purchased tickets in advance. I love that this theatre still has affordable tickets available for most performances. It's so rare nowadays to be able to buy great tickets without paying a super inflated rate to a resale company!! Drinks and small snacks are available in the lobby. They accept both cash and credit. If you buy one of their collectors cups, you are allowed to take the drink in with you. Otherwise, you are stuck drinking water. My advice is to buy the cup and support this local business!! You can also pre-order drinks for intermission. Plenty of parking available. You can also rent out this space for private events.

Seating is comfortable especially compared to the old Sheas main theatre. This theatre is more modern/updated. New lounge area too. Play was magnificent and orchestra sounds are very nice

This was my first time at Shea's 710. It is a lively theater with good view and good acoustics from almost all the seats, and the seat is roomy and comfortable. However, the people working at the theater seemed not being trained well. I had my e ticket in my phone wallet, she didn't know how to scan it and kept telling me I need to get it from my "wallet" but it was in my " wallet". She insisted on seeing a barcode so I had to get it from my email to show her. Later, while I was waiting for the door to open, I overheard another person showing her how to scan. Apparently, everyone had the same on their tickets with her. The play " Dial M for Murder" was nicely done, kudos to the director and the actors.

As a professional theatre-goer, this is one of my favorites! Shows are CRAZY good. Seriously some of the best work I've ever seen. Comfy seats (especially aisle seats), nice staff, and of course a lovely cast. I can't recommend this place enough!

This is my favorite theater in the area. Comfortable seats and aisles between the rows of seats big enough that other patrons can pass in front of you without you having to stand! Also, because it is a relatively small theater with great acoustics, one can hear the actors even from the top row, row O, the 15th row. 558 seats. Some wonderful productions are scheduled here in each 710 season.

I came here to see a free play called "People Places and Things". It was my first time attending this smaller venue and I absolutely loved it! Check in was easy, and all staff I came in contact with was friendly! I sat front row and loved it! The stage is low to the ground, unlike like large theatre. All of the seats sit higher than the row in front of it which is awesome. I would gladly see a show here again.

Great acting, small, intimate theatre. The 710 theatre is a gem in Buffalo's Theatre District. Easy public parking just a block away if you can't find street parking. Not a bad seat in the house. When a man seated in front of me blocked my view (I'm only 5' 2" that happens often) the box office graciously allowed me to change my seat to the very front row. Right before the show started. Of course there were plenty of available seats so it was doable. I really appreciated it. My daughter and I saw a play titled "Superior Donut" last night. Some references to the political situation in the late 1960's and the Vietnam War that my almost 13 year old daughter may not fully understand. I explained later what the references were about - what an interesting way to learn history. Theatre, like literature, open the eyes and mind to new ideas, different kind of perspectives and people. She got most of it. The comedy / drama was funny and deep at the same time. Kudos to the actors, they were so real in character. You forgot this was a role they were acting. For $20 ticket at a student rate, you must take your teenage children. It's an excellent family outing and so enriching. Adult tickets are $45 at the current time. Well worth it.

Great space to see a show. Saw my first show there last weekend and we really enjoyed it. We didn't partake, but they have a very nice bar space, I would recommend getting there a bit early to enjoy a drink before the show. Otherwise they have popcorn, candy and bottled pop and water. $4 each for Skittles and a Pepsi is a bit pricey, but not any more so than any theatre. It's a much more intimate and modern setting than Shea's, it was a nice change. We bought third row seats as we were concerned front row might be too close, but it definitely would not be. We saw a Starring Buffalo production which I wholeheartedly recommend, they put on a great show!

Definitely putting this theatre in my top favorites. I was very excited to check this place out after exploring the other theatres in the district during a Yelp event a few weeks ago; needless to say, I'm on a theatre kick right now. This place is pretty awesome. It's got all the attraction the name "Shea's" brings with the name, but downsizes it enough to make for a pretty great theatre experience. When you walk in, purses are checked and tickets are scanned - there's also coat check if you need it. In the main lobby there's a few tall tables and a bar, if you want to have a nice drink before the show. My interest is in the theatre itself, though. It's definitely a sizable space, but the seats are positioned in a way where there's really no bad seat in the house - you can view the stage from anywhere, and the stage itself even curves along with the traditional theatre-style seating. We saw Spring Awakening here, and the actors used the theatre entrances/exits as well as some space between some of the rows to put on their performance. It was pretty cool being able to watch them up close from the back section where we were sitting. I am incredibly excited to attend a show here again - they just announced their new season too, and while there weren't any titles that I recognized on there, some of the stories actually sounded pretty interesting. I am looking forward to what they have in store for the future here!

You should only come here at 10 minutes past 7 in the evening, apparently. But it's a great place to visit anytime. This is an awesome colorful theater with an Eclectic calendar. I've only had the pleasure of being inside it a couple of times, but it's one of those little places that a lot of people don't know about - but everybody should.

Best place to catch a performance , very intimate with seating in the round.There is a small bar to buy refreshments.You're so close you could reach out and touch the actors.You get a very up close experience with the actors and see a variety of great plays.Past performances I have enjoyed include Spring Awakening,Ring of Fire, Million Dollar Quartet and local favorite Over the Tavern, this theater never disappoints.

I spent many, many evenings in this venue back when it was Studio Arena Theater. Wonderful memories of great plays and stellar performances from big stars of stage and screen. In its heyday, Studio Arena was one of the most prestigious regional theaters in the country. When financial woes closed its doors, Shea's came to the rescue, and 710 carries on the tradition of bringing exceptional productions to its stage. Most recently, The 3 Musketeers graced that stage, and what a good time it was! Intrigue, murder and mayhem, elaborate costumes, and sword fights! All carried out by some of the highest-caliber talent Buffalo has to offer. If the behemoth Shea's Buffalo down the street is too overwhelming for you, 710 is a lot more "user friendly", with only about 625 seats. And the curved thrust stage brings the action right out into the audience. So if you're sitting in the front row, depending on the show, you just might get up close and personal with one of the actors. (Oh, and a bit of history - this building once house The Palace Burlesque. If walls could talk...)

Wonderful intimate theatre, every seat has a great view of the stage which projects into the audience. Was here for Million Dollar Quartet by Musicalfare theater, the show was well done and fast moving. Sound quality was excellent as well as lighting design.

Went to see love letters at this quaint theatre. First time here and it was well kept. It looks like any seat would be a great view. We sat in the 3rd row center and to see their facial expressions really made this presentation enjoyable. It was very different nothing i experienced before. Ali and Ryan played the parts perfectly and fed off each other and were able to feed off the audience because of the small theatre ambiance. Will be back here again with the correct show for this theatre.

Attended a show at Shea's 710 theater. Picking up tickets at Will Call and entering the main doors was fine. The problem was the bottleneck that we were stuck in for way too long, trying to enter the seating area from the lobby. The line would move a few people then come to a dead stop for, what seemed like an eternity, then it would move a little and stop. Once in, seating was comfortable and line of sight wasn't bad. Microphone sound control needs some work. We plan to attend another show there in the future to compare the crowd control. I guess it is possible that some of the issues may have been the fault of the production company and not theater management. We will see.

Kind of the opposite of Shea's, this is a smaller, plainer and more intimate theater. I saw Ring of Fire a couple weeks ago. Great show BTW if you're into Johnny Cash, folk, country or even music in general. Once you're inside there isn't much to look at. They offer reasonably priced drinks so you can mingle before the show. What I love about this place is the seating. There is not a bad seat in the house. You feel close to show even many rows back. Plus the seats are very comfortable and have tons of leg room. Great lighting + sound. I would definitely see a show here again.

We recently attended the production is "all is calm" at the 710 , The singing, acting and quality of the production was amazing. The talented actors put on such a moving performance, it was a special event for the holidays. The theater is beautiful, not a bad seat in the house. I have attended 3 events at the 710. The curious incident of the dog at midnight and once upon this island as well as this production. All of the productions I have attended have been outstanding. The actors (some of them local) are so talented. The lighting, costuming , sound and production add so much to each show. The staff, talent and management of the theater should be commended for their hard work and attention to detail. Thank you for bringing high quality theater to Buffalo.

We had a great time, only complaint is that they only take cash at the concession stand.

Here to see Million Dollar Quartet! First time here since it was studio arena theater. Very nice intimate space with 625 comfortable seats. the half round thrust stage makes for a good view from all seats Pricing is very affordable and there is a nice bar area in the lobby. it was a great evening out and i will return!

Comfortable medium sized theater with great views anywhere you sit. We were there for " the million dollar quartet" it was awesome. It was about the early years of Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Elvis,and Jerry Lee Lewis. They all got their start with Sun records when no one else would give them a shot. Then a few years later they all by chance were in the studio and ended up playing together one and only one time. The music was awesome then and it still is now. The actors were very very good at singing, playing and portraying them. Over 50 years latter there music is still talked about, you won't see that with rap. Go see it if you like those guys !!

Saw avenue Q, and it was super funny!! I'd rate it a 8.56/10.00. The theater is: small but comfortable if you're not too large or mind being near others. The ambiance is: perfect. Great lighting all over. The stage: you can see it clearly from anywhere and muppet people do come out from two audience exits which is fun. The Language: Bad. They say Fuck, shit, and there is rated R muppet visuals. The jokes: great and unexpected. It is great overall but I would say the best is for recent college grads and their parents and grandparents. :) Great for people who think Burt and Ernie from Sesame Street are gay.. Enjoy!! Worth the $40 bucks!

Such a great theatre in Buffalo - a must go for theatre junkies. The seating is very comfortable (much more so than actual Shea's down the street) and there is definitely not a bad seat in the house. The theatre is smaller but the sound and production of each show we have seen here has been amazing. Local theatre companies often put on productions here and it is always great to support local theatre. Most recently, we saw the play Almost, Maine here on Valentine's Day and it was really a great experience from beginning to end. The intimacy of the theatre makes you really feel welcome and like the cast is speaking directly to you. Highly recommend stopping by to see a show (or a few)!

Great little theatre. I saw Love Letters here and was really happy with my experience. Buffalo has really done a great job with their Theatre District. Right by Curtain Up Alley there's even a little pinic bench to go sit at before the show. The 710 Main Street Theatre is right across from The Road Less Travelled By, and there is plenty of paid parking (I counted three medium sized lots). Seats at the theatre were not only roomy but comfy as well. So yah! There are two reasons I deducted one star. One, was that the sound wasn't the best. I've got great hearing, so imagine my surprise when I had to struggle to understand what the actors were saying (and I was in the 2nd row). And then two, the staff at the ticket office was rude. Not a dealbreaker for me since I only had to suffer a few minutes with them, but still, if rude customer service is a pet peeve of yours then watchout. If you want to see a nice play and not worry about parking downtown then I definitely recommend this place.

Had a great experience and will definitely come back again. They have a full bar and plenty of room to spread out. Shea's is quite a bit more crowded. They have many tables in the bar area and you can orders ahead for drinks at intermission and they have a table with your drinks ready when you arrive. There was noticeable more room in the theater seats then you will find in Shea's which was built when people were smaller.

I love the atmosphere here. The round stage allows you to see a more three-dimensional performance. It made the performance feel much more interactive. I will definitely be back for another show sooner rather than later.

I've driven past this theater probably hundreds if not thousands of time and last night was my first time actually seeing a show there. My girlfriend and I saw the show Potted Potter which is a parody of all 7 Happy Potter books in 70 mins! Kaylynn happens to be a bit of a Harry Potter nut (and by bit I mean obsessed) so we figured it would be a nice little date night. The theater had a small stage and seating for probably 200. There were concessions and everyone that worked there was very very nice. The actual performance was incredible. I haven't laughed this hard in quite some time. I was surprised that the theater wasn't packed to the brim with kids and other Happy Potter enthusiasts. It was truly an amazing time. If you enjoy Harry Potter related things then I suggest you go see this before it leaves Buffalo. I'm definitely going to look more into shows here because this once performance sold me

We went to the 710 Main Theater recently (for the second time). The first time was for Avenue Q last year; this time was for Ring of Fire. It's a nice theater. Tickets are purchased based on a specific seat (at least for the show we saw) and it's small enough that it's easy to get in and out. The inside is basic - certainly not a grand theater like Shea's or an incredibly unique theater like Irish Classical. But it was comfortable. They had a coat check and a bar. The audio / acoustics were good. The seats had an unusually large amount of leg room, which I don't need at 5'3" but I heard everyone else talking about how great that was! The seats could be a little bit larger - my husband and I were both a bit squeezed in by the people on either side of us. That said, that's a pretty common problem everywhere. Other than the somewhat generic atmosphere, the only other thing I'll say is that the bathroom door kept coming open, so something in the mechanics must be slightly off track. All-in-all a nice place to see a show or concert.

I saw Wiesenthal, a one man play, here and enjoyed it. The theater itself is relatively uninteresting and it is relatively small so they only do small productions, but still some great shows. The seats are comfortable with plenty of leg room. Parking can be a problem. Street parking is free after 5 but you may have to park several blocks away.

This theater has been here for as long as I can remember. They have some great shows. The seating is also good, its not too big a place, great for a night out.

Nice intimate theater. I sat in the front row to we I love Lucy here and obfwlt like I was in someone's living room. Which is pretty awesome! I did feel a little awkward at the end though, because when everyone stood up to applause I was eye level with the actors. Cool but a little creepy. I would come here again but maybe sit a little further back.

What a wonderful opportunity to see theater at its finest in Buffalo. Purely entertaining and a most comfortable venue with plenty of leg room, not a bad seat in the house. Can't wait to see what's playing next!

Always enjoyable performances by local actors. Have enjoyed many performances here and haven't had some of the issues we have run into at the main Shea's venue.

I am a big fan of this mid-size theater; it's big enough for some really nice stage productions, but small enough that every seat in the house is good. This is enhanced by the steep amphitheater seating around a thrust stage. For the last show we attended, we sat in the corner of the back row and didn't feel at all like we were removed from the performance or watching it from afar. While the decor isn't as grand as Shea's (on the same block), I think it actually puts more of the emphasis where it should be: on what's happening on stage!

Ring of Fire presented by Musicalfare at 710 Theater is absolutely wonderful. If you get a chance go see it. The local musical talent is exceptional, stage decoration and lighting share equal great billing here. Thank you for reopening and presenting such great choices to people who love theater. And,not a bad seat in the house.

I was given 2 tickets to see Red for Saturday night. I called to see if I could swap them for any other night the show is open because I have plans. The gentleman who answered the phone asked another employee and came back to tell me no, he could not swap them unless I was a season ticket holder. I think this is typical of a Buffalo Theater and they will be they same theater that closes down in a year because of lack of attendance and poor customer relations. Come on people - Buffalo business needs to grow. If they would have done this, I would have been the type to seek out other shows at this venue. The advertisers and promoters would have benefited and honestly, you cannot tell me the entire show from now until 3/30 is sold out. Your loss 710.

We went to see Lombardi today and it was a great show. But the review is because I, in my infinite wisdom, bought tix to NEXT sundays show. I couldn't understand why these women were in my seats. The team quickly handled the situation and the boss...a very nice lady, had us sat in great seats right before the show started. Everyone was so nice in a situation where they clearly didn't need to be. THANK YOU and Great job of guest service! We look forward to our next family visit.

My husband and I went to see Six dance lessons in six weeks on opening night, Thursday September 14, 2017. It was a wonderful play and truly enjoyed it. It was one of the best performances we have seen and we loved being at 710 Main Theatre.
