Sheep on Sheep Street

Such a fantastic place! We stayed here almost a week in room 2, which was a deluxe room and it was really lovely (spacious, charming and the bed was so comfortable.) The location is perfect to walk to everything in town. The breakfasts are made-to-order and you can choose from a fairly large menu - and it's all delicious. (Dinners were also exceptional) The highlight of the stay would have to be the staff: Jan at the front desk was an absolute delight and so very kind; and Scott (who hosted the breakfasts) was truly wonderful and both welcomed and treated everyone like they were family (he was also incredibly funny and had everyone laughing each morning). 10/10, we would absolutely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again without any hesitation.

My boyfriend and I chose to dine and stay at The Sheep for New Year's Eve, and it was perfect! The bedroom was beautiful - the bed was super comfortable, the decor was stunning, and the shower was fantastic. Everything was clean, tidy, and clearly maintained to a high standard. The chocolate treat, freshly baked cookies, and wax-sealed note on arrival were lovely additional touches that made the experience even more special. The restaurant was a particular highlight during the New Year's celebrations. Alongside an original and enticing range of festive cocktails, the food was exceptional - delicious, expertly cooked, and presented beautifully. The staff were top-notch, too - polite, friendly, and attentive, anticipating our every need. The whole team was also incredibly understanding and accommodating of my gluten allergy, making me feel safe and cared for throughout. Regardless of the time of day, the atmosphere in the pub was inviting, upbeat, and celebratory. We loved it! Overall, we had an outstanding stay and would highly recommend the hotel and restaurant to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable Cotswold getaway. It's a true gem of a spot in beautiful Stow-on-the-Wold. We will definitely be back!

Everything about this pub was a dream. We stayed three nights, and despite arriving late, the host was happily available to check us in. We were accommodated immediately into the pub even without a reservation, on a busy night. The rooms are small but well appointed. They are so cozy and make you feel so warm and comfy. I slept ELEVEN HOURS on my first night of arrival. The food is great as well. The pub has a wide range of offerings. Everyone is so kind and nice here too. The pub and hotel staff are very attentive. If I could actually move INTO the Sheep, I happily would.

We stayed at The Sheep over the festive period. Reception was lovely, the rooms were quaint and cosy. Breakfast was also delicious and the staff at breakfast were always so friendly and welcoming. I have rated a 2 overall as the rude and poor service in the restaurant on 2 occasions on separate evenings left us all with a sour taste about the whole stay there. I would recommend the hotel and the accompanying breakfast, but I personally would not visit the restaurant again for any meals or drinks after breakfast. The lack of professionalism and accountability shown by the staff and managers was not worth any decent food or drink served.

I recently dined at the restaurant and was lucky enough to have Bianca as my server. From the moment we were seated, she made the entire experience exceptional. Bianca was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She checked in at all the right times without ever feeling intrusive and made sure we always had everything we needed. What stood out most was her professionalism paired with her friendly attitude. She offered helpful recommendations, knew the menu well, and made sure our food arrived exactly as ordered. Even during a busy service, she managed to stay calm, organized, and consistently cheerful. Thanks to Bianca, our visit felt special and stress-free. She is truly an asset to the restaurant, and I would happily return just to be served by her again. Highly recommend her service—5 stars!

We celebrated New Year's Eve at the Sheep on Sheep Street and it was a truly memorable experience! 😊 The staff were attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating - they went above and beyond to cater to our gluten allergy with great care. The room was cozy and comfortable, with a lovely bathroom featuring a fantastic shower. But the real highlight was the live music - the guitarist was absolutely fantastic and created the perfect atmosphere for ringing in the new year. We felt so well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend! 👍 5/5 stars

We visited for three days as a joint 60th birthday for myself & my husband with my brother & sister in law. We had a wonderful stay. The rooms were immaculately clean & spacious and the bar was extremely lively and full of atmosphere. Scott was our breakfast waiter & could not do enough for us, & the breakfast was delicious. We chose the full English on all three mornings, but there was plenty of other options available. We will definitely be returning again.

I arrived at the doorstep without a reservation and hungry! Was greeted by Angela, a lovely lady, who directed me to Scott, who was the host, who kindly found a table for my wife and self. We were served by Angela, and the service was excellent along with the food. We have sent went back two further times with Scott, being the same accommodating host! This venue has found gold, or trained gold, in their staff, starting with Scott, who has the gift of Gab, and making people feel welcome. The service is on par with the excellent food and drink and I whole heartedly recommend this establishment during a trip to The Cotswolds!.
