Shelter Amsterdam

If it wasn't for the fans(ventilators) all switched off and to hot in there you would get a 5 star. If you are not turning them on,may aswel keep them in the storage... Sound system is great,vibe is 👍. But please switch those fans on.

Great music on 22.03.2024, proper talent on the decks. The sound system is great, you can stand pretty much anywhere and still enjoy the music. Great atmosphere overall, tons of people. Crowd generally was nice and no pushing or shoving, if you're in the way, someone will tap you on the back or shoulder to ask to let them through. Drinks have a reasonable price, bartenders are nice and answer even the stupidest questions. Lighting guy was on a total mission to blow everyone away after every drop. The LED screens on the ceiling and various lasers and lights were creating a proper club environment. The Restroom stage is nothing short of spectacular, boiler room style even. I see some people complaining about the music not being techno or dark enough. I think those people should do some research on the DJs they are going to hear before going to the event in the first place if the style of music is not to one's preference, choose another event where there will be techno DJs. It's pretty simple. Also no problems with the door staff or security, super nice people and had no problems with them. Perhaps because I arrived pretty early in the night and they were not pissed off from processing all the people coming through, it was packed. This night was absolutely kickass, with various subgenres of house music, enjoyed every second, props to the club owners and promoters for putting together a sick night, I will be coming back when in Amsterdam.

Got invitation from one of the friend, I was visited this club with my group of friends, 12 people, very nice place. A lot bad comments about security and staff, seems like is fake reviews , a lot of them so friendly and very cool people, nice talk with them. Also had a talk with female security she was nice, no rude at all. I think is the best techno club in Amsterdam! Highly recommended! For sure will back again!

As a woman, I highly suggest other women to go to another club that this one. No ratio, club was full with approximately 98% of men who are tourists, make you feel unsafe, stare at you like you are just meat. It’s my first time experiencing this in a club in Amsterdam. Usually the crowd is respectful. Everyone was drunk, no one seemed to really have fun and it was Whomadewho playing so it was supposed to be fun. I left a 2.30, I just couldn’t handle the glances and the attempts of talking/ approaching us with my girlfriend. Security should be aware of that. There is no way to have that percentage of men in a club. Not normal.

Friendly staff, decent music, & solid drinks. I was disappointed by the low energy crowd on dancefloor but Berlin has given me impossibly high standards in that regard. I do wish Shelter and would run regular ASOT style music nights though. It's Amsterdam after all

pleasant ambience! However, when I arrived at my locker at the end of the evening, it turned out that it had been opened and my belongings had been stolen. The same thing happened to friends of mine who were there the same evening. The staff advised me to contact the locker company and I was then sent back to Shelter as the lockers are their property. No response received since then. My tip: don't bring a jacket and keep valuables in your pocket, because lockers are not working properly.

Very long queue outside (approx 1hr at 1am) even for ticket holders (people without tickets were getting in faster, ugh), crowd isn’t the best (tons of people here more to pose than to dance), water is super expensive, the staff isn’t welcoming. Music was a bit of a let down too, but I’m sure it’s good most other nights. Wouldn’t recommend if you are used to chill, more underground techno clubs.
