Unfortunately i can only give 2 out of 5 stars. Its because the food does simply not taste good at all. We tested around 70+ Restaurants alone in Batumi the last ~ 1.5 years. And here almost everything was fade or old tasting.
The restaurant made an average to good initial impression. The location within Batumis Old City is nice.
As we visited the restaurant, all seats outside were fully occupied and inside most of em were reserved, which could indicate that the restaurant is frequently and good visited.
Service was good and Menu was rich with pictures of almost all meals on the last few pages. Service personal spoke english.
Prices are average and leaning towards the low spectrum for Batumi. Not expensive at all but also not super cheap. There are others that have way better food and are even 30% cheaper.
We ordered a wide variety of meals.
First we ordered a certain tap beer which was not available. This is typically for Georgia and Batumi unfortunately. Whats listed in the Menu doesnt mean its available.
Food appeared within a reasonable timeframe and the order of it was correct. Soups and Salats first. This is big plus in service and sadly not a standard in Georgia.
Worst thing first: The Pizza. While only costing 15GEL, if you ever get served a pizza with Ketchup as its "souce", run away from that restaurant. Thats our experience here in Georgia. All Restaurants that do that, have other mayor taste flaws aswell. The Pizza was the biggest disappointment for us. 0 Stars.
The Soup tasted like water where someone threw in a few pieces of vegetables. This was the worst soup i ever witnessed in my whole life in any restaurant. Seriously. 0 stars.
Badrigani was missing the typical strong eggplant flavor when its getting prepared in a pan or on a grill. The walnut paste had no real taste at all. 1 star.
Warm Salad with bell peppers and meat for 15GEL was "OK" after we salted it. It tasted like almost nothing beforehand. Its tiny and to expensive imho. 2stars.
Khatchapuri with potatoes and sulguni was Ok and nothing special, the dough was average but again it was edible. 2-3 Stars.
Salat Olivie was terrible. It smelled and tasted like a refrigerator or its freezer compartment. Like you know deep frozen vegetables.
Just terrible. Again no salt very fade.
0-1 Stars.
Shashlik/Mtsvadi was average. While it had some grill aroma, the meat was only average pig meat. Some pieces were chewy, others were ok. The meat had that typical smell of pigs in a stale. Hard to describe.
2 stars.
Pig Steak (25Gel!) was also a disappointment. Tasted like when we buy a super cheap pig steak in a german discounter supermarket. Its seems to be even worse meat that the one from Mtsvadi. The served french fries smelled so terrible and had no salt on em. You could smell the old ranzig canola oil or whatever they use here for deep frying. Its about time to replace that oil. Disgusting smell.
The served ketchup appeared like thinned with water. Best were the few vegetables in that plate. 1Star.
Kababi was the best of our orders. Good smell, good taste but again lacking what other restaurants provide here in Batumi. It needs more chopped onions, parsley, red pepper and coriander within that lavash role.
The served Satsebeli Souce was like a seasoned Ketchup from the store.
2-3 Stars.
