5 minutes on foot from Yongle Market. Surprisingly, it was quiet with couples of tourists were there, meaning we could slowly and enjoyably wander around without worrying of the crowd. The alley itself was small, short but very nice with some artistic coffee and shops. The lanterns and the old houses made it even more stunning, day and night.

Came here many times! Even though it’s a tourist spot, the vibe feels just right. The street is lined with old local houses and well-preserved buildings that give it a really nostalgic charm. It’s mixed with bars, cafes, and snack shops that make your Tainan evening feel more lively and relaxed at the same time. I really enjoy walking through, especially when the lanterns light up at night. It’s not a long street, but the mix of culture, food, and lights makes it a place I never get bored of :)

Super cute. Lots of cute cafes also in the area. Loved the colourful lanterns. Lots of cute touristy/craft/art/merch kind of shows. Also a gorgeous temple nearby with a massive beautiful tree if you keep walking along the street. Very insta worthy. Also extra gorgeous during golden hour. Want to go back during the nighttime, as I think they light the lanterns and fairy lights. There happened to be a little alley market on as well!

Night visit 5 🌟 Good vibe, and lots of photo opportunities. The shops are all pretty interesting to look at there are a few eateries. There is definitely something for everyone here.

Google
Definitely a beautiful site at night. Street market is okay (night markets are better - check out my other review for night markets). Food is great. I would recommend to go at night but early enough that you don’t miss out on shops as they close by 9 pm

Google
Maybe the most romantic venue in Tainan; most shops selling paintings, etc. also you can savour freshly-roasted coffee.

Very cool street and worth checking out. Great checking out the older style houses and plenty of great photo taking opportunity too.

Yelp
Nostalgia avenue with lanterns, old shops and historic houses. Lot of interesting shops selling art piece, cultural and creative products as well as antiques. Good for souvenir shopping. A beautiful place to stroll around, eat, drink, shopping and take pictures at night. It's really nice to slow down and walk around to enjoy the vibes.

Yelp
Fun place to visit at night. There are plenty of cool shops to check out that sell souvenirs and clothing. The lanterns themselves are worth the visit if nothing else and are popular among tourists. In the alleys are a few hidden markets. You'll find a few Japanese style skewer houses and some modern bars as well. This street has a lot of historical significance, as some residences were previously inhabited by historically famous people. The Jin Hua Fu shrine is also located right in the center and is worth walking through, if not for worship than to check out the dragon and tiger stone carvings.

Yelp
Took an evening walk down this historic Shennong Street that dates back to the Qing Dynasty. The roadway is lined with quaint, historic shops & homes. Fascinating! According to Wikipedia, Qing Dynasty was the Manchu-led last dynasty in the imperial history of China. It was proclaimed in 1636 in Manchuria, in 1644 entered Beijing, extended its rule to cover all of China proper, and then extended the empire into Inner Asia. The dynasty lasted until 1912.

Yelp
The Shennong Street is an old fashioned shopping street, narrow alley and tiny stores, most merchandises won't open until later afternoon or at night.

Yelp
Enjoyed a Sunday afternoon here with family. This street is like little Italy in a historical and trendy shops for young to old. There are antique stores, handmade crafts, boutique coffee shops, art galleries, hand made wood furniture and traditional Taiwanese snacks. Some stores have nostalgia items from the 1950s Taiwan, toys, soda pops, etc.
