Sheraton Cascais Resort - Hotel & Residences (Cascais, Portugal) Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Life in Lisbon is pretty far from grim, but things somehow get markedly more pleasant just twenty-five miles to the west in Cascais, on the Atlantic coast. What was once simply a fishing village has grown into, depending on your perspective, either an outer suburb of Lisbon or an extremely convenient out-of-town holiday destination. Which goes some way towards explaining why the nearby Sheraton Cascais Resort - Hotel & Residences does a little bit of everything." - Tablet Hotels

The Sheraton brand in the UK is synonymous with quality, style, and modern. ||The Sheraton Cascais was in very extensive grounds. The bedrooms were very, very spacious, and the hotels cleanliness was second to none. However, other aspects of this so-called "5 star hotel" were definitely not. The main bugbear breakfast. A fiasco of a 3 star hotel. Often food running out, cutlery not placed on tables meaning guests "pinching" from other tables, including myself. It was quicker to do that than wait for staff who seemed either frantic or others who couldn't be bothered. Tables remaining left with dirty dishes.... I had a small request for reception. It took 2 attempts and waiting for housekeeping for over 2 hours to achieve.... The pool bar VERY expensive, a rip-off. For example, 2 hamburgers costing around £50!!!! I kid you not..hence why the pool bar often remained empty. The hotel was classed as a golf resort. In reality, the hotel was frequently occupied with families and children who frequently overtook both the pools. Not the quietist of places. Also, hotel advertising regular shuttle to Cascais. When we enquired at reception was told no not this year! We also read that pool towels to collect from reception, who said no there's a change...the pool bar to collect. Communication was also poor at the hotel.||End result? My partner and I somewhat disappointed. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel, and I've stayed at many.||Room for improvement!

This is not a 5* experience.|Having visited in 2024, I returned hoping to have a lovely few days to end my vacation. What seemed like quite an exclusive resort in 2024, feels a little less so this year. The hotel felt overcrowded and service 'fair' at best. Breakfast is chaotic and staff repeatedly clear out your tables, taking your coffee/ drinks away, when you leave your table for seconds to get more food as they are trying to turn tables around for guests. Long queue to get a table at breakfast - I have not seen this at any other 5* resorts.|Given the price per night, one would expect a much better experience. The resort is not walkable into Cascais centre. Sheraton used to provide a hourly shuttle service into town last year (and I believe still advertise this on their site) but this service is no longer available. One would therefore need to have a car or rely on Ubers/ Bolts to get around. |Some personnel (Leonardo at Reception) are superb - thank you Leonardo. He is attentive and polite and no request is too much. Other staff, especially at the Pool area/ bar seem disinterested and hassled. |Certain things in the hotel rooms could do with an upgrade - such as the TV and perhaps some of the furnishing. In this day and age, it is almost unfathomable for a TV in a 5* hotel to not support streaming services. |The extra bed set up in the room is rock-hard and extremely uncomfortable.|The pool remains the best aspect about this resort. However, on my first day at the pool, I found glassware left all around the pool area (and not cleared away) and also noticed some guests smoking and vaping.

The park of this resort is large and nice but it would need more attention. Rooms are nice, well appointed and comfortable. If you get upgraded to a junior suite you will get a lot of space inside, kitchen, separate bedroom and living room, etc. But the terrace was poorely maintained. The breakfast was good but the dinner at the same place was way below expectation. hectic service and average food. The pool is nice but the pool bar never had water or other things. Overall, with a better management and an upscale attention to the details it might be a great place. Plus the water pressure…

We stayed 3 nights at the Sheraton Cascais Resort and really enjoyed our time here.||They call themselves a resort because of the extensive gardens, peaceful location, and large pool. It’s a pity they don’t offer a shuttle to the beach or have an adults-only pool (see below) — that would make the “resort” title feel even more deserved.||Our stay itself was fantastic. We were upgraded to a beautiful and spacious suite, and the staff was very attentive throughout.||It’s clearly a family-oriented hotel, with a large playground and even babysitting services. Perfect if you’re traveling with kids and want to keep them entertained. If, however, you’re looking for complete peace and quiet, this may not be the best fit.||We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant Yakuza — an excellent experience. Not cheap, but the quality was top-notch.||Also, don’t miss ordering a drink at the reception bar. They’re outstanding.||The resort is located in a residential area, so you’ll need a car or taxi to get around. They also rent out (electric) bikes, which make it easy to cycle into Cascais.

We really enjoyed the location of the hotel – it’s excellent for exploring Cascais. The rooms are good, spacious and comfortable, but they don’t quite feel as luxurious as advertised. We were disappointed with the pool – it’s beautiful and large, one of the main highlights of the hotel – but unfortunately it’s not heated. This information wasn’t mentioned at the time of booking. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the pool photos, as we wanted our young daughter to enjoy the summer days in a warm pool. Unfortunately, the water was too cold for her to enjoy it. On the positive side, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Always smiling, they were proactive and really did their best to assist us in every way. That made a big difference in our stay.

Great hotel located in a quiet and exclusive neighborhood of Cascais. Ideally located close to horse stables, top golf courses and health club. Close to Guincho beach. Beautiful gardens with two pools. Though the service by the pool only starts at 11am, when it is open it was excellent. Particular thanks to a very professional and helpful staff member called Thyago.

Solid option in Cascais and exceptional location. The hotel really needs to swap out Glass Terrance for something decent. The service and food quality is horrible. We live in the neighborhood, and if it were half decent, we would go there all the time. My motuer stays at least 20 nights per year in the hotel and also really goes there is she is absolutely desperate. It's such a shame, as the venue is very nice and it would certainly attract local families if higher quality

The hotel is a little off the beaten track, so you will need a car.|First impressions were good, check in was quick.|We had our granddaughter staying with us in the same room. Her bed was pushed up right against the patio doors which made going out on the patio a little awkward.|The pool was lovely although I thought the staff there were not particularly friendly. We didn't realise that you had to collect the pool towels from the reception as most other hotels you collect them from the poolside. We asked at the bar and she said she only had 2 and didn't offer to get another one. But about 20 minutes later, another group came and she found towels for all of them...|We also thought that the food at the pool bar was a little expensive. We ordered a prawn pizza which arrived with no prawns on it. To be fair, they did sort it quickly but for over €20, we expected it to be correct the first time.|The breakfast was very nice and I agree with a previous review about ordering the eggs. We didn't even know this.

Yelp
Great hotel with luxurious big room. Great staff. It's like a little golf resort. It's really cute.

Yelp
Disappointed because of the prepaid breakfast option. Bought it for two days. Its an extra 20 Euros per person per night!. 40 Euros! Couldn't use it for the first day because we woke up too late for breakfast. Then when I asked T**** if he couldn't compensate or do something about the 40 Euros, T**** said there is nothing he could (or would) do. Maybe he could have asked me for my room number to confirm that we didn't eat breakfast. So, in the future, don't buy the breakfast option in advance. Based on T**** lack of interest in knowing my room number, it seems that you could probably just stroll in and eat. As a side note, the maid didn't refill my coffee and I had to ask for the regular, non-decaf coffee and for the two daily complimentary water bottles. On second thought, don't stay here. You are betting off staying in town instead of being held hostage in this remote, expensive, badly trained staff at this hotel.

Yelp
Th resort is amazing and the people are extremely nice. I would love to come back. The two restaurants on the premise are awful at best. Would not not recommend; food is bad, service is lacklustered, and just a bad experience. Waited 45 minutes for an entree and then it came wrong. My family and I came in at 8 pm and didn't eat til 9:30, the restaurant was pretty empty. Stay at the hotel but stay away from the restaurants, specially dinner.

Yelp
Disappointed with our experience just attempting to book with them. It was for potentially a long-term stay. For some strange reason being a platinum member doesn't mean anything. In fact, we drove from the EXPO area, across town, to see what it would be like as we generally love the Sheraton experience. Tried several times to get a straight answer about arrangements and prices. The young man suggested we talk to so and so...We did. Again told to call back the next day. Meanwhile, we had to get out of the airbnb that we were at. Finally, after our 4th attempt, we got some sort of clarity but were exhausted from the experience. I believe this involved 5-6 hours at this point. This doesn't happen at other Sheratons. All in all, the gist was whether or not it worked for them. We asked to speak with their seniors but were always unavailable...and with some disdain if we asked. It's their way... The facility is also a time share place. It's calm out there but it's isolated 12-13 minutes to any sort of civilization. Food for thought...

Yelp
We were given an upgraded room because we are Starwood/Marriott owners which was really nice. However, we asked for ice and was charged 5 euros for a small bucket. Only place to eat for lunch was the glass terrace. They were only serving buffet...32euros a person for a very meager salad selection, two entrees, and a few desserts. Definitely not worth the price! Yikes!
