Sheraton Grand Los Cabos, Hacienda del Mar

This was our first time staying at this property. We used exchange points to book 2 rooms. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The restaurant and bell staff were excellent. My family member had an issue with the air conditioning in her room. They showed her a room that was available then told her later the room wasn’t available. It was an all day hassle and I felt it should of been handled quickly considering the resort wasn’t full. Overall is was a very nice stay snd we would book again. Lots of good food options

Now this resort experience was perfect. I loved everything about it. It was really well kept and the rooms were really nice. The room service was also amazing. And the food was next level but a little bit pricey but it’s a resort so that’s to be expected. The sunsets where super pretty and the beach was awesome. Los Cabos airport is one of the nicest Mexican airports as well so that’s nice to get to fly in there. Now I loved my stay and I’m sure you will too and I would highly recommend.

Beautiful place. Well maintained and clean. Met my family here for 50th birthday early September. Restaurants were all great. Pools are well kept and relaxing with beautiful scenery. Don't go here for the beaches, the waves are too dangerous here. There's a great public beach by the marina. Everyone in my group wants to go back!

Beautiful resort ! It’s a treat just walking around the place. Staff is very friendly friendly, very helpful. They have accommodations that fit every need and want. Really easy to book activities off resort. Cool golf course about 5 miles up the road. They have two on site, very good but very pricy. We just want to use the practice range but on site does not allow that, full green fee now matter what. Thus went up the road to a course that does … 20 bucks to have unlimited use of practice range. Would go back in a minute !

Beautiful and unique resort, full of lush gardens and landscaping, well-maintained facilities, and very friendly and attentive staff. The property is huge so even though it's right on the beach, your room may or may not be close to it. The food and drinks are really good, but expensive (definitely expect resort prices). The beach is beautiful but the waves were strong the whole week we were there so probably not safe for most to swim there (we hardly saw anyone swimming on the beach). However there are several pools and they're all amazing. The only downside is that not all the rooms are renovated. Ours was clean and comfortable but the furniture was outdated.

We had a great time, but we're very laid back, patient and tolerant people, so keep that in mind. First off, the employees are top notch, the grounds are gorgeous and well taken care of, and the views are amazing. I'd give the food a 6/10. Breakfast at Tomato's was great, dinner at De Cortez was spectacular, but lunch at Las Sirenas was just ok. We also had dinner at Pitahayas which was good. Not amazing but not bad. Rooms I'd give a 5/10. They are cozy and clean, but not very sound resistant, especially the front doors, and the TVs are way out of date. The pools and beach were great, a 7/10 at least, but busy and hard to find seats. It's the guests that are rude, not the employees. People put their stuff down to "claim" their seats and then may or may not even use the seats. I took it up on myself to clear towels myself, but if you ask an employee, they will assist in finding you a seat and removing a jerks towel and belongings that have been there for hours. Lastly, we thought that there were plenty of amenities during our 5 days here, but we like to experience things, so you can't be lazy if you want to have fun experiences.

Everything about this resort is designed to rip off the guests. The $310.00 (usd) room will be $442.00 (uds) with resort fees and taxes. The food and drinks are insane $56.00 (usd) for 3 shots of Baileys in 3 cups of coffee (coffee an additional $7.00usd). If you eat at the resort, expect over $200 (usd) per day (per person), which is assuming you do not drink alcohol. The resort from the outside is absolutely beautiful. Thr grounds are very well maintained. However, the more you see, the worse it gets. The rooms are very dated. Multiple non-functioning items. Toilet leaks, plugs do not work, doors sticking, etc. The staff is friendly, but the service around any of the pools was poor. Overall, I will not go back and certainly not recommend it.

We love our home away from home. Even with all the changes, they really are trying hard to be accommodating. The guest services manager, Manuel was fantastic. He was so helpful, courteous and awesome. Just plain awesome. Saul at the pool is excellent. He is the best outdoor worker in my book. "My Lady" Even when people are complaining- which I don't get, you're in Cabo- he's so very pleasant and calm.

This place is okay. We booked a 4 night stay at their 3 Bedroom Suite with an Oceanfront view. It was for my parents, my family, and my sister's family. The rooms were just okay and there was definitely a lot of wear/tear throughout the property. The sliding glass door to access the balcony was rusted shut and took quite a bit of force to get it opened. Shower pressure was way, way high (which I'm not really complaining) but it was hard to bathe the 2, 3, 4, and 6 year olds we had in our party (no tub). Additionally, this particular suite accessed a 3rd bedroom via rickety spiral staircase in the middle of the kitchen (not very kid friendly). The Oceanfront view was amazing, so that made staying here tolerable. The property itself had a old, Spanish mission's charm to it (smells included). Food on the property was really bad and ridiculously expensive. It was comically expensive (ie. Shrimp tacos came with half a shrimp for $15 USD). If you want better food, get an Uber and go to town or other nearby restaurants. Thank me later. Taxi services - The property will call taxi services for you, but the Taxi rates are double of what Uber offers. They were charging 500 pesos for up to 4 people to Lucas San Cabos (15 minute car ride). If you have more it's 125 pesos extra per person. Uber on the other hand, was only half of that. Amenities - If you want to use the gym, you have to request it from the front desk. The equipment they had was old and some of them were being repaired. Micro-filtered drinking fountains throughout the property required an extra $5 USD for a special card to turn them on. Feel free to fill up your water bottle at the gym. Pools - There were a number of pools throughout the property, including a kids area with a waterslide. The pools were not heated, but did have a very nice view of the Ocean. Beach - Easy access to the beach with little to no crowds. The beach is a little dangerous for kids, as the waves are strong and can easily pull anyone into the ocean. Great for sunbathing, but not very good for playing in the water. There are hordes of vendors selling you stuff, such as mugs, stashes, hair weaving services, bathing suits, handmade jewelry, etc. Guest Services - The people on property are super nice, however, I was a bit annoyed that we were not allowed to check in before 3:00 pm. This was unheard of with my Marriott status. The Concierge took us to the balcony and explained the different activities they had and tried to convince us to attend a 2-hour timeshare presentation for 50% off. No thanks. I felt like they held our check-in hostage until we listened to their initial pitch.

We have been owners here for years and this is the first time that we had the worse experience ever. No attention to detail, no customer service. Here is just a small list of some of the major items encountered in our room: Upon arrival we encountered the following: **A hole in the floor in the living room where one could cut their foot ** NO towels in the bathrooms ** NO towels in the kitchen ** NO coffee pot ** NO steak knives (we like to cook) ** A toaster oven on the counter that did not work ** Toenails (yes, toenails) left on the floor in the living room ** Chair cushions that were ripped and falling apart ** Cleaners put dirty towels back on the rack

This resort is good for what it is. The staff around the pools are very warm and friendly. The food options seem limiting. My advice is to venture to Cabo or San Jose del Cabo for your dinners. Starbucks is a bright point conveniently located close to most villas. The resort is dated but it makes up in small ways such as the wonderful live music most evenings at dinner. The breakfast buffet is subpar. My advice is to order from room service menu for breakfast and lunches even for some dinners. The room service menu is wonderful and reasonably priced. Everything we ordered from room service was delicious.

*No Longer a Sheraton Property as of 11/2020* I just returned a week ago - 11/16, here's the latest... I love Hacienda del Mar! When I visit Mexico, I enjoy the look and feel of old Mexico - the colonial-style architecture, lush vegetation and well-manicured grounds - this is Hacienda del Mar. The property is older, but well-maintained. I like the rooms with the Mexican tiles and rustic-looking furniture. I get it, some people like fresh, new and contemporary - HdM is not that. I also enjoy that HdM is located away from the craziness of Cabo. The property is NOT a young party place. It's a relaxed, low-key resort for families and travelers of all ages (you can still have a little party fun, but no all-night dance clubs or tequila-shooting meatheads.) The beach is gorgeous (BEWARE - swimming in the ocean is dangerous along the property). I love the palapas, beach chairs and food & drink service - a great way to spend a relaxing day! Personally, I enjoy the beach vendors too - a few blankets, a wooden bowl...it's fun to shop from a beach chair! Pools are expansive and numerous - take your pick. There are several food options on the property - great if you don't feel like leaving for dinner (or other meals). Super useful are the small stores on property. Seriously, you never need to leave Hacienda del Mar! Clothing, coffee, gifts, groceries and personal items can be found on the property. On my recent visit, our housekeeper was EXCELLENT! Vicky spent every day putting our room back together and left it spotless clean! I stayed in a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen and ocean view - it was lovely. Anything not to like? Yup, the timeshare hard sell - ughh. Tell them you're a member and they'll leave you alone. I'm sure there are many more services and offerings that I missed...spa, concierge, fiesta night dinner. Trust me, the list is seemingly endless. Overall, a lovely property with lots to offer. If you enjoy an old Mexico vibe with excellent service and lots to do without leaving the property - Hacienda del Mar is it! 5 stars I just left and can't wait to return!

Can I just say I felt like I was living in a dream these past 48 hours! This Sheraton property exceeds it's sister property in Waikiki (and that's comparing it to us staying on the 14th floor w/ views of Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean in front of us). Here in Sheraton Grand Hacienda.... I didn't even know we were pulling up onto the property because at the main gate, it said Brisas. Our shuttle driver had to first pass the security booth- give our names and we proceeded. Then, from that main driveway we turned towards another driveway to meet the Sheraton security booth and give our names again. I briefly looked up the hotel photos months ago. And photos still don't do justice. From the slight humidity, the salty air, the loud waves crashing somewhere beyond... my soul felt lifted. We were invited to celebrate a beautiful wedding here. And the bride and groom knew they're fairytale wedding was gonna be a very memorable occasion for themselves and their guests. Hell, I can't even complain about the smoking deal we got for both rooms! We snagged the last Ocean View w/ balcony & king bed for $350 for 2 nights as part of the wedding reservation block!! Our room even has a spacious whirlpool tub that has privacy shutters. I kept the shutters wide open during my bath (spoiled by my Lush bath bomb indulgences).... and watched tv. There's also an enclosed glass stand up shower as well. In room amenities include safety box, 2 FREE bottles water, shampoo/ conditioner, lotion, body gel. We've enjoyed the main infinity pool area. Gorgeous views!! There are also lounge chairs on the sand! But, PLEASE take heed and read the beach/ water conditions on the safety board!! There's a descriptive photo on how the undertow trap you and pull you out. The past couple of days the black flag has been up- dangerous water conditions. There is a swim up bar/ pool at Girasoles- next to 29, 30, and 31 buildings/ villas. We planted ourselves there at 9am on Saturday morning and stayed til 1pm. 10am is when the bar is open for business! Mind you, this isn't an all inclusive resort. But, at Girasoles pool- there is Happy Hour from noon- 1pm... half off on drinks. I even asked the bartender if there are HHs at other pools on the property.... YES!! So, make sure you inquire ahead because HH times at the pools differ throughout the property! There is no actual Sheraton shuttle service to/ from airport per se. The front desk can call you one. FYI- while making purchases at the resort- you either have to have a credit card on file at the front desk (we paid the hotel reservation on our debit card) and everything can be charged to that credit card... or you can be inconvenienced like us and bring your debit card everywhere on site. There is a NO CASH POLICY at all the bars & restaurants here too.

Not a true three star, closer to 3.5*. Okay I am writing this review on my way home after a six day stay at the Hacienda Del Mar. One should note that it is no longer a Sheraton resort. The resort and its team are nothing short of amazing. Helpful, accommodating, polite and very invested in safety and security measures. The landscaping and villa presentation is beautiful. I have no idea what people are talking about in terms of the rooms being outdated or dirty. What is keeping this resort from easily being a five star place are two things: the dining options and noise. So I'm originally from the Bay Area (CA) and I know what I like with my food and can recognize quality when I see it. Unfortunately, not one of the provided restaurants on the premises was worthy of notice. Bland, over-priced, and very much suited for the American palette that could probably not appreciate authentic Mexican food. I was shocked at what passed for a restaurant here. We tried room service one night, and although definitely better than the resort dining options, still fell short of my mark. The other issue was the amount of noise that could be heard from our room. Toilet flushing, shower running, conversations, moving patio furniture at 4:30am??? Please invest in a little soundproofing. Other than that, I definitely am glad we spent our stay here, but would most likely pick another resort with better food options.

Was a few years ago, I went in the off season and was beautiful by the ocean and very accomodating.

This hotel gets a very rare 5-star review. Spent 7 nights here on a solo vacation. Could not have been happier with everything. Front desk staff are the best I've experienced. I'd name names, but everyone far exceeded expectations. I was upgraded to a luxury suite, and it was fantastic. At least 1200 sq feet, and a beautiful view of the beach. Room appointments aren't new and modern, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. The whole property is adorned in old Spanish style. The swimming pools are fantastic. There's an infinity pool that overlooks the beach. Huge waves break on this beach 24-7. Nothing's more relaxing than floating on your back listening to the beach. The property is like a Mexican village. Parking is FREE, and ultra-convenient. There's self parking and valet. If you self park your walk to the car is no more than 30 seconds. There are complimentary bottles of water all around the hotel room. There's even a fake Starbucks on the property. On check-in I was issued about 20 free Starbucks coffee coupons. The beach isn't for swimming, but it's one of the most beautiful in Cabo. Do not stay at one of the beachfront hotels near Cabo San Lucas city center. Stay here. You won't regret it.

Closer to 2.5 than 3. The resort is nice and the rooms are fine enough for the price point relative to other hotels in Cabo, but, I'm sorry, the service is completely unacceptable. I have gotten better care at a motel 6. Several motel 6's actually. A comedy of errors with respect to service. Requests ignored, simple mistakes like towels, water and food order ignored or having to be asked multiple times just to get a response.

Great pool (loved the infinity pool). Great in-room jacuzzi. Restaurant was decent (De cortez). However, location really sucked since it costs $12USD to take a shuttle to town or $25USD for a cab. Great if you dont plan to leave the resort property ever but otherwise definitely look into renting a car instead so you can go out and explore. There are SPG floor rooms and 20% discounts for SPG gold members at restaurants though no room upgrades were given.

Cabo is for people who want to just relax in a deck chair all day long sipping non stop cocktails while the kids burn in the beach and pool. And the Sheraton is no different. Very very beautiful resort, well fitted with a variety of pools, slides, deck chairs and other beach vacation essentials. The hospitality is warm and obliging, and though most of the staff struggle with English, we communicated well through smiles and gestures. The landscaping is something else. It's completely artificial because Cabo is a desert, but it's inspiring to see how they have created a profusion of lush green and bright colors with just 4-5 low water requirement plants - palms, bougainvilleas, nerium, frangipani in all imaginable colors. And because it's so sunny always, the flowering plants are in overdrive!! The haciendas are roomy and give off old world charm with well loved colonial furniture. I suppose some would say it's dated, but it suits me just fine. Hanging out in the balcony on a deck chair listening to the ocean at night was magical. The hotel has a lovely beach and the coastline is simply stunning of course. The sand is pure and the water very blue, but unfortunately quite cold because of the Arctic waters brought down by currents. Pools are warm and lovely! Especially love the infinity pool. The resort is tucked away really far away from the main road and there's no way you can "walk out"and get a bite to eat at a local joint or enjoy any of the public attractions. You pretty much have to drive 15 miles to either town. There is little or no public transport. We ended up renting a car and driving out all the time. The resort food which I suppose is targeted at those who are inclusive package was below average. We did not take the all inclusive package and one meal at the resort proved to us we had made the right choice and have to go out for every meal. The resort couldn't even make a decent taco and even worse, the fish was stale. It is truly ironic to eat stale fish sitting by the sea!! This is the only reason why I give this resort 4*. Overall, I highly recommend this resort.

The pros: this is a nice property, lots of pools, nice beach (not swimmable), lots of restaurants to choose from, shuttle to downtown Cabo ($12 round trip per person last one leaves at 9:30pm), pool service. The rooms are clean and maintained in a more traditional Mexican style (tile floors and bathroom). The staff is very nice. There is also a Starbucks on the property if you don't want to spend $30 per person on breakfast. We were given coffee vouchers every day to use but this did not include anything other than plain coffee. It is February and we can see the whales in the distance from the beach and the pool. The food is very good by the pool. The chips with fresh salsa and guacamole and baha tacos are yummy. I also recommended going to the art walk in San Jose on Thursday night. The Cons: everything is expensive on the property. Get a room on the third floor. We were on the second floor and the noise level coming from above us is exaggerated/loud due to the tile floor. Also try to reserve a building closer to the ocean. The chairs by the pools go fast. People get up early in the morning and throw a towel on them to reserve. There is a pool, not by the ocean, that is nice with a swim up bar that usually has some chairs available. The taxis are expensive from the hotel but this is not the hotels fault. Also, there are no activities on the property to speak of. All in all.. If you want to chill out and relax this is a nice place to do it and if you want to head out to downtown Cabo everyday I would recommend staying closer to that area or be prepared to pay the shuttle fee or cab fare everyday.

Been to Cabo six times and this time we brought our toddler with us & had a wonderful vacation. Hacienda is on a gorgeous property. We went in Jan so the weather was perfect 79-82 all week. We saw tons of whales breaching from our ocean view balcony, so amazing !! Every night, my daughter and I would unwind and take a jacuzzi bath on the balcony. We went to Mega and Walmart & made our own meals for breakfast and lunch. Went down town for tacos and lobster.. Yum!! The food at hacienda was very expensive but tasty. The cactus spa was nice but my massage was just ok.. I don't think I would go back. We had 7 pools to choose from. The kiddy pool was fun, but we loved the infinity pool the best! We swam in the ocean but warning I don't advise you to swim in the ocean if you aren't an experienced swimmer. Tide is very strong and it pulled me in a couple times! I could make this a yearly vacation! One of the nicest places that we have ever stayed in Cabo. The location is perfect. I have noticed that the hotels near "the arc" like pueblo Bonita, etc are more for the single people looking to party and dance like twenties. And the sea of Cortez is more for honeymooners, thirty's and up, family trips, children, older. There is definitely no night life here which I was ok with. I did laundry at 10 pm and by the time I walked out I was scared it was so quiet and dead. The water is just breathtaking on the sea of Cortez side. An ombré of different hues of turquoise, Aqua, blue, light blue. Just gorgeous. The only complaint I have is the wifi is very bad!!! It is choppy and not consistent. We will def return !

Great hotel - don't get the other low/negative reviews. This resort is large and in a great location just a 10-12 min drive from town. Feels secluded. Great beach, great pools, great bars and amazing food and service. The courtyard gets lit up at night for whatever theme they are doing with live music and sometimes dancing. I'd come back here. I gave it a 4 vs a 5 because elements of the hotel need attention. We stayed in a luxury suite which is ~900 ft2...great layout with 2 large balconies and an ocean view. We came here a few years back I'm saddened to find out the my have permanently closed online. I loved my experience here it was just amazing in every aspect loved the food and restaurants, the service everything was to par. Now it's just wonderful memories hope another brand can build on this location again.

This is one of the tucked away oceanfront resorts. They have Mediterranean architecture, white sandy private Tortuga beach and endless view of the Sea of Cortez. My husband had specifically chosen this resort mainly due to the kid's pool and kids club, which is exclusively for children aged four to twelve. Luckily, my daughter turned four few days before so she managed to utilize the kids club. She had so much fun making the piñata, painting and playing with toys. The Sheraton kid's adventure club keeps the kids fully engaged. We purchased the all-inclusive Sheraton package and the kid's club amenities were included in the package. Although my son is one year old. We were at the kids club along with him to enjoy the amenities. In addition, I watched how the instructors supervised and helped other children. It was amazing watching and talking with the teachers here. Some of the parents have timeshare so most of the children come to the kids club at least once or twice a year. And they help customers transport luggage or to different pools in the golf cart. My son enjoyed the golf cart rides and whenever it ended he would either complain or run after them. Price - Since it was all-inclusive, we did not have to pay for drinks, meals and had our refrigerator and snack bar stocked up. Most of the alcohol provided in our refrigerator were top quality. It would have sucked if we did not purchase the all-inclusive package because the restaurants prices were extremely high. In addition, room service was included. Moreover, they have Starbucks on the site. Restaurants - Restaurants are great here. Staffs - The staffs are super friendly here. We had the oceanfront view with balcony. In addition, the view was awesome. Cons- you cannot really swim in the ocean due to the aggressive waves and tides. However, we did walk and my kids were able to play and make sand castles. Both my kids enjoyed playing in the sand. We stayed here during the Fourth of July week and they had fireworks, which was spectacular. We enjoyed a lot. Definitely recommending this hotel for families with kids.

The pool scene is great, especially for the kids! There was a separate water slide and shallow lagoon in kids club area too. Also a mini infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Nice touches around the resort like lush tropical landscaping, laundry machines, purified water dispensers. As for the dinner scene, the best nighttime buffet was the $30 "market night" with music from a electronic violin player. The other $35 buffet featuring an appetizer/entree/dessert from all six restaurants was actually not as good. This resort isnt among the newest or flashiest, still enjoyable if you want to kick back. Short & simple drive to main tourist area in cabo, did it many times. Resort right off the only highway in the area, easy to get around.

We loved our time at the Sheraton. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because there were some minor things that could have been different. Our rooms had spectacular views of the pool and the beach. There were a variety of shops and restaurants to choose from, everything was very well kept. The minor thing was when we got to our room the floors were a little dirty, but I think that's kinda hard to avoid with it being near the beach. Secondly, the hotel concierge tries to sell you on time shares as soon as you get in. Not exactly what you want to do after a long flight. Other than that, this hotel was great. The people are friendly and room service was fast and efficient. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Stop. Just dont! LAZY Staff! Ocean view is far! Floors are sticky and dirty. My feet were black every night. Had to wash my feet every night then walk on a towel to my bed so my bed wouldn't get dirty. Ordered pina coladas by the pool at Las Sirenas. Instead of putting pineapple like they had previously, they put a slice of melon. They said they were out of pineapples even though there was a pineapple in plain sight. They were lazy and didn't want to cut a new pineapple because it was the end of the day. LAZY!! LAME!! Mildew on the tiles in the shower. Food was terrible and very expensive even with a Marriott gold discount. The hotel is shared by two different companies. Nobody tells you that. Some restaurant you get a Bonvoy discount some you don't depending on who owns it. We learned the hard way. After Las Sirenas restaurant provided terrible service we went to a bar that was on the beach that is also on property. We brought back our drinks to the pool area and the waiter from Las Sirenas yelled at us and told us that we couldn't go there and said that is his competitor. I've never been yelled at by hotel staff before. Totally Inappropriate. I gave them numerous chances to rectify the situation and the manager Manny Manriquez was uncooperative. Manny forced me to write this review. Never again.

Not bad place a little dated far as the rooms but I guess it is old school Spanish feel to it we are just use to newer and more modern but it grows on you but we had a top floor ocean view so we were good. Pools are nice the beach is clean and beautiful water is blue and the food is excellent overall good experience and staff was very professional and hotel was very consistent on cleanliness for all and Covid.

The Good: The grounds are well kept and beautiful. I think the property is well laid out. Nice beach and pools. The Bad: The property is split in half between the Sheridan and the Vacation Stay property. It is very confusing when you first get there. If you or your driver don't know which side you're supposed to on you will be completely lost as no one will be able to help you. We stayed on the Vacation side and the service was horrible. I'm not sure what's going on but they are completely over you before you get there. They do, however, seem to really be nice to the timeshare people. It is really weird. We didn't have one nice encounter over the 7 days that we were there. We actually left a bad review on TripAdvisor because they also overcharged us over $300. We were contacted by the hotel but then we never heard from them again. This is even after 3 follow up attempts. Basically they said they wanted to help and then stole our money. Back to Cabo - YES. Back to the HDM - No Way Jose.

Stayed here during Presidents' Day weekend. The hacienda is beautiful and the customer service is great! I took off a star because they push you to go to a timeshare presentation. Don't do it! Trust me, It's just not worth it. We wasted five hours of our vacation trying to push off high pressured sales tactics. Other than that we had a great time

Wow!!! Everything about this trip was so awesome!! My friend had his wedding at this beautiful location! The valet guys are so awesome and so helpful and very professional. Everyone was amazing. My man Carlos from Tomatoes restaurant is the best. Super attentive and always went above and beyond. Enrique, Omar and the whole team are amazing! Thank y'all for making my friends wedding possible. We can't forget the Chef's either. My room was beautiful and always nice and clean. Thank you housekeeping team!!

We only stayed here a couple nights but we really enjoyed our stay. It is not an all inclusive resort but we rented a car and drive into downtown Cabo each night for dinner. In the mornings we ate at the resort restaurant called Tomatoes. For lunch we would get a snack at a pool bar such as chips and guacamole. The resort has lots of nice medium sized pools. They also have a kids pool with a slide. We had a nice room. The ac thermostat was a little hard to control but if you open the sliding glass door it automatically shuts off.

Me and my family had the best time and great experience in this hotel! All employees where so nice to us all the time! Had no problem! Room always clean! Air conditioner full blast! I will definitely come back to this hotel in my future vacation to Los Cabos! I truly recommend this hotel! Great job Sheraton staff ! Fernanda and Luisana from front desk you guys rock! Thanks for everything! Specially for the cold beers !

They have a shuttle back and forth from downtown Cabo but you have to buy a round trip ticket from the lobby. You cannot get a one one ticket from downtown back to the hotel.

Place was amazing and nice . The only complaint was it was a little ways away from everything at the beach. Great view , pools, and extremely clean.

We recently visited the Vacation Club late June 2016 early July 2016. This is a family friendly resort, customer service was great, people were very nice and friendly. Parents: They have a kid's club for those times when you want to escape to the spa or bar. Just check them in for a few hours at a price and you are good to go! Or you can opt to sit at the bar next to the kid's pool, Las Fuentes and have yourself a few drinks made by Héctor (who is super good peeps) while your children run around and enjoy their vacation splashing around and making friends. Single People: I would definitely recommend the pool with the swim up bar... nice chill spot, bring your beats or wireless speaker to set the mood you want. Sports bar seemed cool too, pool table and open late. Restaurants - we ate at almost every restaurant on site, Girasoles was great for breakfast (all you can eat), DeCortez was a delicious dinner $$$ (steak on fleek, if that makes any sense) Las Fuentes serves finger foods like corn dogs, burgers and salads. That was good too! All else was ok. We didn't try Tortugas Restaurant it's on the beach and looked like fun. *TIP 1- if you have a kitchenette get a taxi and take a 5 min drive down to costco or walmart and save yourself some cash instead of buying all your food and alcohol on property* Spa- we went for a massage in July while they had a 30% promotion going on, a Swedish massage and a Aromatherapy massage came out to $100. Tax and gratuity included. Can you say jaw dropping! It was so relaxing! !! !! 1 bummer- room we stayed in was out dated, but I have faith that they will turn that around soon. *TIP 2*-Lots of mosquitos, buy bug repellent. All in all our 7 day trip to Cabo was amazing and most of our time was spent on the resort lounging by the pool while watching the ocean waves crash on the beach. I must say this place is amazing, so much, in fact we will definitely be returning. Until next year HDM!

Pros: -Beautiful location! -The ocean view from our room was amazing. The actual room itself was pretty too. -Spa was great. I got the chocolate massage and love everything about it. -The burger and pizza were actually great ordered from room service. (Go figure being in Mexico) -The staff was very sweet. Cons: -The minute you get into the hotel they are trying to push a time share on you. -Location is in the middle of both towns. Cab and shuttle rides add up so its a better deal to rent a car right from the airport. Saves a lot of time and money. -Mexican food was not the greatest. Was sick an hour after eating the octopus and ceviche. Horrible tasting strawberry margaritas. -There was trash and the same dirty dishes outside of our elevator sitting on a table literally all day and into the next morning. Also random tables throughout the hotel. -The tile in the rooms was freezing to walk on. -Prices for food and alcohol were outrageous. If you are not doing the all inclusive make a run to Walmart to grab beer, booze,and snacks. Will save you a ton of money. -The coating on the pool and jacuzzi was super rough and will scratch your butt and knees if you sit.

There are not enough stars in the sky to give them. If your looking for an exceptional place to stay with superior service and remarkable food then this is your place.

I'm actually staying here as we speak So far I am really enjoying the grounds it is very safe and clean and the hotel staff is very friendly Arturo is my main man he is one of the Bellman that keeps helping me get around the property and the connecting timeshare property on his cart all I have to do is call downstairs I'm so glad that this place isn't a all inclusive because the restaurants that I have been to so far the food has been excellent and so were the drinks Definitely go into the sports bar in front of the pool and ask Fernando to make you a piña colada His piña colada's are so amazing that I got one because the couple next to me we're going crazy over there is and then I talked to other women into having one and I purchased them drinks too I really like this property it's very large landscaping is very pretty the rooms have everything I haven't seen any bugs just a bunch of geckos and there's a cat roaming around Guillermo at the towel stand overheard me asking where I can get tamales and unbeknownst to me he had made a special request with the Mexican restaurant to specially make pork quesadillas for me tonight I went to go and have dinner there and it was fantastic I had Bartolo serve me and he was super sweet Everyone I've ran into has been very nice to me and there's a shuttle that goes back-and-forth to downtown I have to admit I got suckered into attending a timeshare presentation only because they're just so nice but I actually really enjoyed this timeshare presentation I did not buy one of coarse but I could not believe the free gifts that they offered I've never seen gifts like that ever. So if you're staying on the property definitely try and get yourself into a timeshare presentation and just check it out they take you over and have breakfast with mimosas and they show you this brand new property that was crazy beautiful and then they bring you back they see you down there talk to you and then they give you their presents A multitude of different options I thought it was pretty cool I'm actually going to go and try and do another one This hotel is definite recommendation it's right on the beach and adjacent are dozens of other hotels connecting along the beach this is a very large property Prices for the food and drinks are much cheaper than in America Free Starbucks coffee in the morning's and adjacent to that is a nice gift shop with clothing hats and bags flip-flops and jewelry and then there's a separate gift shop for snacks fruits candy alcohol cigarettes and over the counter medications their room service is actually really phenomenal get their shrimp quesadillas they are amazing and the shrimp are huge I will probably do another review or update it after my stay but I am enjoying myself so far

Made multiple tour reservations with concierge. Everything went as planned except for the last evening when the Sunset Cruise we booked with SunRider turned us away as they did not take American Express. Giving BOTH SunRider & Hacienda Del Mar a 1 star for bad communication, and no alternatives offered when in line at the cruise.

I've been coming to this property for well over a decade with my family. The resort rarely disappoints which is why it's very frustrating when I read negative reviews from travelers who either haven't done their research or their expectations are too high. There are two sides to this property - a hotel side and a timeshare side. I have never stayed on the timeshare side because I am a SPG platinum member. I also prefer the hotel side. The rooms are clean and feature the Mexican decor that one seeks on a vacation to Cabo. It is a far contrast from the more stark and modern Westin further up the Transpeninsular. First off, don't buy into the sales pitch of timeshares. Every conversation is to get you to go to one of these presentations whether it's because you're inquiring about activities offsite etc. You need to have a firm no. Even if they say they want to present you with a "welcome gift", feel free to decline and walk away. You're not being rude you're just getting on with your vacation. Some people I've seen come here without a rental car which is fine but keep in mind that you're going to need a taxi to get to town or anywhere else in the city because there is nothing within walking distance. there's plenty of restaurants here to enjoy, and more activities on the timeshare side that you can engage in. They've upgraded their menus and their service at the pool which is far more impressive than the last few years. The beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning works fantastic. There's a quick convenience store located near the lobby and the timeshare side actually has a small grocery store for when you need a little bit more than just beverages. This is also not swimmable beach. It can be very dangerous so if you're coming here expecting to go directly into the water you need to use caution. There are several pools located throughout the property which are great. We've never had a problem with getting chairs except in the high season which can be a little daunting. Upon check-in I was assigned a king garden room. As a platinum guest I probably should've gotten an upgrade automatically especially since the occupancy rate is so low right now. When asked, the front desk associate upgraded us to a luxury suite facing the ocean. It was a lovely room, almost a little more than we needed but we appreciated it nonetheless. Also as an SPG Plat I was able to save 15% on food and beverages which was enjoyable. This is a great property and a great experience for someone coming to Cabo whether it's the first time or the 20th time. You'll end up meeting people from all over. It has a great vibe. If you're looking for something with a little bit more of a club scene or spring break ambiance this is probably not the place for you. it's only a short drive to downtown Cabo San Lucas and about 40 minute drive from the airport. Don't be afraid to get a rental car. Part of traveling is exploring the city that you've arrived in and it's super easy to drive to town or even the Walmart or other shops in the area. The pictures I posted are for the luxury suite. More likely than not don't expect this type or category of room upon check-in. Most are the standard or deluxe rooms which are smaller and do not have the full kitchen etc. so again do your research. Literally my only complaint is that it's not a completely smoke free environment. Several guest were smoking at the pool which was a bummer. Sheraton has adopted many green policies including opting out of straws, etc. a completely non smoking pool at the very least would be ideal.

Very pleased with our stay at this property. Pros: gorgeous location; wonderful pool; very friendly staff; fantastic beach front views from our room; delicious food options if staying on property is your preference; Starbucks on site; nice walking trails near property; convenient and affordable shuttle to/from Cabo town Cons: walls are thin and you can hear everything -- including neighbors' lovemaking. Instagram-worthy for my young son. Competition to get umbrella chairs at pool gets exhausting by day three -- especially since people grab chairs and then head to beach. We sat near prime empty chairs for over 6 hours! And staff can be super annoying as they work to sell you on sister timeshare property. And -- can't really swim in or walk along the ocean given the rip tides and aggressive waves.

We're love to stay there. Very nice view, we are enjoying our 11 years anniversary and vocation a lot. Many pool to let my kids swim, jacuzzis

I travel over 100 nights a year - this hotel continues to be a favorite. It is great for families, as I bring my family here. Quiet. Far enough away, yet close for any activity. The rooms are great. The views, the restaurants, the pools all lend to such a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. I will be back.

So I have came to this Sheraton like 8 or so years ago and then again like 7 years ago. I decided to venture out to other hotels (because I do like going to Cabo like 2 times a year) to broaden my horizon. But I returned here with one of my besties in July and had a really good time. We didn't do all- inclusive as we weren't really drinking much so it would be worth it in value. The food was good at the restaurant by the pool as were their drinks. I did really like Tomatoes in the morning for my daily dose of chilaquiles. We also ate at a restaurant over by the timeshare area. I forgot what it was called but their margaritas were the best! I went to the spa and it was ok, although the prices were pretty considering the prices they give you actually include tip and tax. Now that was a nice surprise!

Absolutely love this resort. Stayed here for 5 nights and got upgraded to oceanview room on SPG floor because of SPG Platinum status. This is a resort for people who are more chilling and not into party scene. 15 min away from downtown which won't be hard to get to any activities too. I would suggest to get a car to get around Cabo as parking is complementary here anyway and easy to find parking in DT Cabo. The view is amazing and have an infinite pool. SPG Plat will get free breakfast at Tomato and can upgraded to full buffet with $10/person which is totally worth it. Service are so great that I can't find any complains about my stay.

I got married at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar 15 years ago. My husband and I have been coming back every year, and now we bring our children. This has been such a special place to us where we have cherished many memories together over the years. We chose to come and stay for the entire week of Thanksgiving this year and celebrate our anniversary along with the holiday. Unfortunately, this visit was much different than our stays in the past. It is clear that with the Marriott take-over, costs are being cut wherever possible. Here are just a few examples: - Staffing: There was only 1 person at reception every time we needed assistance. I waited in line for 30 minutes and then was told to return to my room and a manager would call me. I waited 90 minutes without a call. There went 2 hours on one of the only sunny days we were there. The staff members themselves are very helpful and kind, but I recommend increasing your levels, especially during peak times. - Room provisions: The coffee makers have been removed, as have the robes. I was told these are available only upon guest request, but how would anyone know to request this? Clearly the goal is for guests to spend money at the coffee shop. This is a little thing, but something my kids always looked forward to- you used to do turn-down service and leave a little Ande's mint on each pillow. This isn't happening anymore. I was so happy to see that you started providing water machines, as is standard in most nice hotels now. But, when I found out you have to pay for this I was very disappointed. Clean water is a necessity in Mexico and I can't understand why this would be exploited. - Maintenance: Our shower was clogged. There were ants in our bathroom. Our floors were not cleaned before we arrived (this is actually something I noticed at all of my previous stays but it never bothered me too much since everything else was fabulous). The main spa only had one working jet. The Delphines spa was not heated at all (day or night). The elevator was broken on the one rainy day we had. I noticed areas of deferred maintenance on the buildings and common areas. Landscape, however, looks as beautiful as ever and the ground were always clean. - Restaurant issues: I called ahead to inquire about the Tomato's buffet/ theme nights and was told they would "have something every night". There was nothing any of the nights except Thanksgiving. Pitahayas staff were incredible! But, again, not enough staffing. One night we waited literally 60 minutes for our food from the time we ordered, and then 45 minutes for our bill after asking for it. Not easy with 2 little ones. The food was very good though. El Cortez: After dinner one night we thought we'd have dessert and a cocktail at El Cortez. We went over at about 8:15pm, and noticed lots of open seating. I asked to be seated and was told I could not enter because I didn't have a reservation. What? Do you not want to make money? Confusing business model. Check-Out: Again, stood in line for 20+ minutes. Finally got helped and the (very nice) lady couldn't see in the system that I had prepaid. The bill was $1100 over what it should have been and she kept wanting me to sign it. She said she would get it fixed but didn't have time to do so. I must tell you that I voiced all of my concerns (aside from the restaurant issues as we didn't encounter these until later in the evening) with the manager on duty, Carmen. SHE IS INCREDIBLE. I know how hard it is to try to nicely justify the changes resulting from a change in ownership, and although she never bad-mouthed Marriott she was understanding and compassionate. After my conversation with her, she added complimentary breakfast to our room every day, sent a bottle of wine to our room for us to celebrate our anniversary, and gave us the VIP treatment in our turn-down service- chocolates, towel animals, robes, and a coffee maker! Thank you to Carmen for helping to offset the issues we encountered. Unfortunately, because of this experience we probably will close the "Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar" chapter in our lives while we still have great memories. I urge you to re-evaluate your practices and restore the hotelas the 5-star, incredible experience it once was. Thank you for listening and again, my deepest gratitude to Carmen!

This hotel is nice. I like the many pool choices, and the kids pool with a bar for mom and dad was really great. I read a previous review stating the staff was lazy, this made me laugh because I kept bumping into staff and asked them questions, and they would simply shake their head no at me and tell me "they were new". I don't know if this was because they simply did not know what I was asking or if they were new. It became a little bizarre after the 3rd day. Why was everyone who worked there "new" and why was this the standard answer so many staff members gave me instead of trying to get me help? It was pretty funny when on our last day when we had to hustle to the airport, we ordered breakfast from room service. We ordered room service with plenty of time to eat before we had to go. Our food was late, and the room service server apologized for the food being so late, and he turned to me and said it was because he was new, then he said "the chef is also new". OMG I had to try so hard not to fall to the floor laughing. So my main real reason for a low review of this place is the oh so horrible Spa. PLEASE don't go to the Spa with the intention of getting a good massage or being relaxed. The Spa rates are really expensive, but my husband and I wanted to treat ourselves. My massage was okay, I don't like a lot of pressure, so I got a decent massage. My husband on the other hand got a half-assed deep tissue massage. At the beginning of the massage he dozed off for a couple minutes, then he woke up and realized the masseuse was massaging him very lightly with only one hand. He thinks that she may have had her cell phone in her other hand and just did the bare minimum because she thought he was asleep. She then massaged the back of one leg and not the other. He apparently didn't say anything to her, so that is on him, but I found this to be really unacceptable because their spa prices were really high! I told the person I checked out with that I would not be paying the higher rate of the deep tissue rate because of the truly terrible massage my husband received. The check out guy stared me straight in the face and barley changed his expression when he apologized. He seriously looked like he could care less that I was unhappy with the service. He pretty much gave me this feeling of being a "stupid American". Later when I walked by the Spa, I saw my husband's masseuse painting someone's nails. So pretty much, they aren't trained massage therapists, they are just random people put to work in the Spa with random spa tasks. Okay, that's fine, just don't charge outrageous prices for really crappy massages. If I spent less than $150 (USD) on crappy massages, I probably wouldn't be feeling so ripped off, but I spent $300 (USD) on a mediocre and a terrible one handed, cell phone massage! Last thing I will say about the Spa is that the facilities try to be up to par with your standard resort spa facility, but misses the mark terribly. The waterfall type of shower was old, and the faucets were corroded and couldn't really spray very much water. The steam room was not very steamy, and kind of gross and smelly. I wanted out of there as soon as I got in. Spend your money on the bar and restaurants, but spare yourself the shaft, and stay away from the ridiculous spa!

Before this trip, I finally figured out what one means by "Cabo". That generally refers to Los Cabos, the harbor, water sports, famous arch, drinking town, while Cabo San Lucas is the larger, less touristy town with the international airport. In between you'll find a perfectly easy toll road that was free during our October visit, and the lovely Sheraton Grand Hacienda del Mar. I wasn't sure how inconvenient not being within walking distance of Los Cabos would be, but this location is not far if you have a car, and we found free parking in Los Cabos pretty easily (not going to reveal the spot). The only drawback location-wise is that they advise not swimming in the rough surf though we did see people go in. We loved the facilities and the staff - the grounds, pool, and restaurants are just beautiful, and the two of us took full advantage of the view in a two level suite sleeping 14! The bathrooms and kitchen had been remodeled, but I suspect the room is due for a furniture make-over... I really shouldn't complain though... they really did honor the Starwood Platinum upgrade. It was a lucky time, right before the competition fishing season. Even through they weren't as busy, they still set up the huge Saturday night fiesta in the center courtyard with traditional dancers and a singer who entertained throughout. For $35/person we specified our stage-side seat (a little tiring for Hostage Gastronome who politely maintained eye contact with the singer) and partook of fresh tortillas, grilled meats, aquas frescas, a salsa bar, plenty of sides, Mexican hot chocolate, and plentiful sweet treats including a wheelbarrow of candies. The savories were the most successful - the churros were stale, and they didn't use the right sugar or heat? for the cotton candy. Everyone has to sing "Cielito Lindo" individually, so you might want to brush up on that, and they will celebrate your birthday in a big way too. We tried just one of their four dinner restaurants, and our free continental breakfast (includes espressos) was sufficient - just $10 to upgrade to the full buffet. The iguanas are not the relatively pretty Cancun sort, but not prolific enough for me not to return. Minus a star for lack of activities.

In October of 2019 Sheraton hosted my wedding and they were amazing. We choose to use one of their event coordinators and couldn't have been more pleased. Our coordinator, Carolina Puentes Herrera, was nothing short of spectacular! Her attention to detail, creative solutions and use of resources were incredibly helpful. The menu options and quality of food, offered by the Sheraton, were off the charts wonderful, we still are receiving compliments from our guests on all of the food. Our guests all loved the accommodations and all the luxurious amenities offered by the Sheraton. I HIGHLY recommend the Sheraton and their talented coordinator Carolina.

Came here on our honeymoon. Had a truly amazing experience. All of the pools and restaurants on the property were just fantastic. De Cortez was a fantastic dinner spot with great views. Friendly and accommodating staff. Our room was great. Apparently recently renovated?? Anyways, We will definitely stay here again. Lots of activities, great gym. Beach front is perfect. PRO TIP: Ask about the baby sea turtles and seeing them hatch and walk to the ocean.

Beautiful property. Many pools to swim and wade in that look right out to the beach where you can watch whales breaching during the winter season. Spectacular! There is also some really wonderful snorkeling right off of this beach in front of the property. Be careful to find a calmer spot to get into the water as the pull can be very strong in some areas. But if you catch it at a calm time, you'll be amazed by all the different kinds of fish right there in the reefs. Our room was also very comfortable and the kitchen was well amended. Would definitely come back to this beautiful resort if the opportunity presents itself.

The staff is incredible and excellent to speak with, especially if you're practicing your Spanish! They love to strike up conversation and are very considerate. Special shout-out to Alberto the bellhop and Heriberto the golf cart driver. They, along with everyone else, were incredibly patient and always aimed to please. Beyond the staff, the food was incredible and the views of the ocean and the surrounding landscape from anywhere on the property were fantastic! Can't wait for my next visit!

Pros: The grounds are beautiful and there is a huge beach plus 4 pools. The staff is also very nice. It's not as crowded as the hotels in Cabo San Lucas, so that's a plus in my book. Cons: The walls in the rooms are paper-thin. So, if you want to sleep in on your vacation, forget it. The hotel is about a 15-min cab ride to Cabo San Lucas, but it's $25 each way. So, if you want to go to town for dinner, you'll pay $50 - $60 just in transportation. If you're just here for 2-3 days, then this is a great place. If you're here longer and want more dining options, I'd stay closer to Cabo San Lucas, so you can just walk to the local restaurants.

Beautiful hotel on the sands of Cabo del Sol. The Sheraton shares the property with the Hacienda del Mar timeshare property. The one benefit is that this allows you to use the amenities of both properties freely when staying at either location. Overall the service from the staff was excellent. Once I checked in, I was upgraded to an ocean view room. The room was large, clean and provided an excellent view of the Sea of Cortez. The king size bed was exceptionally comfortable. The pools are awesome with Plenty of space to relax and enjoy the Baja sun. There are also chairs available on the beach so you may relax with the sounds of the crashing waves. The Beach is semi-private as the only way to get to them is through the property or by swimming a long ways. There are a few people touting their wares, but given they all dress the same, I think they work for the hotel or timeshare. The grounds of the property are immaculate and better than may places I have visited around the world. This is not a party hotspot, as most of the people you will find are baby boomers in their 50s and 60s. But this IS a place to put your feet up, relax, and do nothing. The food from the hotel restaurant Tomatoes is actually pretty good. The breakfast buffet is pretty standard but decent, with the lunch and dinner fare being a bit better. Tips: The Hotel is far from pretty much anywhere. There is a shuttle from the timeshare property and it only runs 9am-9:30pm. Taxi's are outrageously expensive if you are not splitting them with a large group. I would recommend renting a car at the airport if you plan on making frequent trips into town.
