We stayed for 6 nights as a family of 4 with older teenagers. When checking in the staff were business like and functional, there was little interest or warmth. ||Our rooms were large and spacious. Nd garden facing. The pool area was well maintained and inviting ( the pool itself was bracing!!) ||The buffet breakfast was very busy and our coffees regularly arrived after we had eaten, ||The hotel is positioned really well for access to Port Douglas and the surrounding areas it really was a great base, and the access into 4 mile beach is a real plus. ||Overall the hotel is a bit tired with some shared and communal areas look shabby. The area surrounding the fitness centre needs a serious facelift! ||The location of the hotel would be the main reason I would return or recommend this hotel.

Overall, our stay was fine. There were ups and downs. I definitely would’ve this experience 3.5 out of 5 if half points were allowed. |The pros: expansive grounds that will give you plenty to do. Beachfront location makes beach walks super easy! There are also enough dining choices onsite.|The cons: AC was never cool enough. The bathroom was dated. Some soap scum and mold left uncleaned. Service throughout is lukewarm at best. They’re working hard and perhaps too busy so that’s on the hotel mgmt to hire more people. Restaurant prices were bloated due to being the only eating options onsite. We had a small lagoon access room and while cool, the body of water was small and shallow. I couldn’t force my kids to go in. They’d rather use the pools.||I think Sheraton has the potential to be the 5 star hotel they call themselves but perhaps we were here at a busy time and many things were negligent? Breakfast buffet was not great although the cooks at the omelette station worked hard!! Each time our coffees came at the end of our breakfast.||Maybe hire more staff? ||All that said, location is excellent!

Stayed as part of a conference group. Hotel is way overhyped for the prices and sadly it is incredibly disappointing. The grounds are lovely - but room and food way below average.|Dirty mug in mini bar on arrival (at least later replaced with clean mug). Picture at entrance to room had splatters all over it. Can't turn off aircon in room- except to open balcony door. No blackout curtains on balcony door.|Bathroom 'window' was so dirty (on the inside) it made everything feel dirty. |Ordered room service on last night just before 6pm. At 7.15pm called to see where it was. Was 'accused' of already calling (which I hadn't) and was then told it was on it's way. 15min later it arrived- pretty cold. The Nasi Goreng was one of the worst I had ever eaten - had to pour spring roll sauce over it to make it edible. The prawn crackers were pools of grease and inedible and the egg was like leather. Would have normally sent it back, but was so hungry and didn't want to wait another 90min!|The last morning was the 1st opportunity to sleep in- was woken by an industrial size 'blower' being dragged around behind a small truck outside the room at 7.15am!|If I was paying $150 a night- this is the level of expectation, but they charge much, much more and you expect something pretty special for what it costs.|Concierge team were lovely and very helpful.

Pretty amazing. My kids felt that they’d won the lottery! This was our two nights of luxury after 3 weeks road and camping trip driving up from the Sunshine Coast so expectations were high. The pools were stunning and we didn’t find them too cold staying mid July. We had a lagoon access two x double bed and a travel cot which perfectly fitted our family of five. I thought the room was stylish and comfortable though the bathroom was dated. Would have been nice to see four bath robes with them knowing the occupants of the room. Breakfast was an additional $98 for the 5 of us with my Marriott membership- that was well worth it, I thought breakfast was very good with average coffee and unexpected wait times for seating (it was school holidays). I would have liked to see more things complimentary - the schedule for the school holidays was amazing for family but there was an additional charge for a fair few things like the pizza making. Beach was stunning and I would have liked more time there. All in all I loved this hotel and we will be back hopefully without paying for school holidays inflated prices

The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, but unfortunately, the same care hasn’t been extended to the rooms. My original room was dirty, and after requesting a move, the next room had mould and leftover food under the bed. I had to call room service to come and clean it properly. The quality of the accommodation simply didn’t match the price, and it feels like most of the investment has gone into the landscaping rather than into housekeeping or staff training. I’ve documented the issues with photos and, unfortunately, wouldn’t stay again at this price point.

The hotel is dated and in need of a refurbishment. The number of children in attendance outside of school holidays is quite something - definitely do not stay here for a quiet getaway as catering for kids and parents (who do not parent) is the aim here. With so many pools and lagoons one would think they could perhaps have one as adult only, as many other resorts do? The service, although friendly, is sloppy. It is definitely not a 5-star resort as it standards have slipped markedly. Do not book a cabana as they are weather worn and do not get swept. The main restaurant for breakfast and dinner is not good. Harrison's, and the bars are the shining lights of the resort, but even here the service is a little sloppy. Cleanliness, including the pools, is below par. Overall a disappointing stay.

Sheraton Grand Mirage Port Douglas |I had high expectations for this place as it is advertised as a 5 star hotel. We arrived at 6pm and check-in was smooth and we our room was upgraded from a King lagoon access room to a King lagoon access Studio without asking. This was great, we thought, until the following morning when we saw our room was located adjacent to a pool that was in desperate need of painting as the concrete was showing through and was definitely not aesthetically pleasing. The only other issue with our room was what looked like rust stains on the mirror, again aesthetics. The pool towels were small, well used and thin. I thought the toiletries were of average quality for a high end hotel.|On our 3rd and final evening we arrived back at 9.40pm to find there was not one car park in the entire resort. After checking at the front desk we were told we had to drive back onto the main road and park in a car park adjacent to the resort.|Positives of our stay:|The hotel is situated in a great location next to 4 mile beach. |The room was large and spacious, as was the bathroom with a walk in shower. |The pools were generally lovely, apart from ours, and the resort backs directly onto the beach which was super easy to access.|We enjoyed our stay but we will stay at what we hope to be better ones this trip.

Rooms were fabulous. The first day of buffet breakfast was good but there were t o many kids running into you while carrying your food suggestions in future have adults only dining Ares so other guests can enjoy there stay a bit more.
