Sheraton Kagoshima (Kagoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Something about Japan often brings out the best in what are otherwise relatively ordinary global hotel chains. The Sheraton Kagoshima is an example; the Japanese-born and Brooklyn-based architect and designer Jun Aizaki’s design elevates this 228-room hotel to heights rarely reached by the lodgings that share its name. Traditional Japanese elements are one part of the recipe, but only one — the visual references to Japan’s landscape and culture are subtle, but substantial. The Western-style rooms are handsome enough, but the public spaces are dazzling, from the atrium with its living green wall to the diverse and unique dining venues." - Tablet Hotels

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sheraton Kagoshima from June 21 to 25, 2025. From check-in to check-out, the service was impeccable, and the staff made our visit truly unforgettable.||A heartfelt thank you to the amazing Front Desk team for their exceptional hospitality. Yua welcomed us with a warm smile and helped us check in smoothly. Yuko, the Front Desk Manager, was incredibly thoughtful and ensured every detail of our stay was perfect. Thanks to her and the team, we were generously upgraded to the stunning Sakurajima Suite, which offered breathtaking views and was a highlight of our trip.||We’d also like to thank Yukini for her helpful and kind service each day, Yoshiki, the Duty Manager, for his attentive support, and Kris Jane Cel P. Bandejas, the Front Office Team Leader, for overseeing such a dedicated and professional team.||The hospitality at this Sheraton property is truly top-tier. The staff are not only efficient but genuinely warm, making us feel completely at home.||We highly recommend Sheraton Kagoshima to anyone visiting the area, whether for leisure or business. We’ll absolutely be returning again in the future!

Very pleasant stay. Relatively new hotel with bigger than average (35m2) rooms, huge public bath with sauna, full gym and more. Elite members have access to Club Lounge serving drinks, cocktails and appetizers (nice selection but only appetizers -- not enough for dinner). Breakfast buffet was very nice with full menu but can be crowded at times. Free shuttle bus available to and from Kagoshima-Chuo Station. Convenient city tram station is right in front of the hotel. Great access. Front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Parking is a bit of challenge as it is shared with supermarket and other establishment nearby.

The room is new, modern, however I must agree with one previous review that it favours design over functionality. "Bathroom" is an open space incorporated in the sleeping area, not practical for many reasons. Storage space provided is small for such a spacious room. |Breakfast did not meet our expectations, we tried it only once. A lot of choice, however not many Japanese options compared to other hotels that we have stayed in. It can get very crowded as well. ||The bed was super comfortable, so were the pillows. Staff is nice and efficient. Location is in the peaceful area and tram stop is conveniently nearby. The view from the room is superb.

What a great staff at this hotel!! I am a difficult customer I travel with Marriott 65-100 nights a year and expect a certain standard. This location was fantastic anything that I felt was lacking or needed they solved immediately. The Concierge was amazing and helped with dinner reservations helping plan our days excellent!! I would recommend this hotel for families or businesses traveling.

Beautiful hotel, clean, big rooms and very friendly staff! It has a very nice onsen and fitness facility! We are a family of 4 with two kids over 12 and took 2 rooms, one with the Sakurajima view and one with the city view! Both rooms are fantastic and the city view is amazing too! Wish we stayed longer!

Staying here with my wife and two kids. The room is nice spacious and clean. Shower is amazing. View of the volcano is great. Service is good. There is a shuttle from chuo station. There is convenient food and groceries nearby. It's slightly harder up get to attractions but it's not bad at all. Check in was quick and easy. Most of the staff speak at least some English and some are completely fluent. Whatever you need they will handle it. The onsen bath is nice with real hot Spring water. The gym is decently equipped though the dumbbells only go up to 20kg and they could use more attachments to the cable machine.

Very nice hotel. Large rooms. Ours had a view of the volcano. Hotel has hot baths & foot soak in the hotel free to guests. The bar on the 19th floor has great drinks, some food and spectacular views. There is a seating area with the roof open. When it rains or there is ash from the volcano it comes in.

Other than a long check in process (which was disappointing and an unnecessary 45mins). After that was resolved the rest of the stay was smooth. ||As a Titanium member they didn’t really make me feel welcomed. The lounge was average at best. ||Room was comfortable and had a nice view and faced Sakurajima. ||The spa and onsen is very comfortable and worth using. ||Breakfast was very good I must say. |They also gave discounts to use the restaurants which was appreciated. ||Gym is small but functional ||Parking is next door and at a cost of 1500 yen.
