Very nice property on the beach. Well located near Kapa’a. The beach cruisers were a fun way to get around. The restaurants are good and pretty reasonable for Hawai’i prices. The pool bar is great and they offer free daily activities like yoga, crafts and ukulele lessons. There is also a game room with pool tables. Definitely a good value and recommend it.

We loved this resort! Just beautiful. Pools are relaxing and well kept. Nice walking path along the property that goes for miles. Although the resort is large, it never seemed crowded. Lots of free onsite parking. Staff was very accommodating. Rooms were very nice. On site eating places were good. Very good location!! Hope to come back.

As I pulled into the parking lot, I realized that I had stayed at this location when it was a Marriott Courtyard. During checkin, I confirmed that it had been a Marriott Courtyard. I felt a little disappointed, I was hoping for something a little bit nicer. ||After a few days, the hotel began to grow on me. I still think it is a bit of a stretch to refer to it as a resort but the hotel has a lot going for it. The pool area is nice and the property sits right on the beach. The location isn't far from the airport and it is central to the Island and it is close to Kapa'a. ||The downside of the property was the sleep quality. The A/C in our room was extremely loud when it cycled on (other reviewers have mentioned as well). I treid various things including getting the room cool and then turning off, only to wake up feeling too hot. Ulitmately, you want to feel like you get a good night's sleep.

Very nice resort hotel. Super service. They have everything we could ever need: free cooler, beach chairs, mats, Tommy Bahama umbrella that we can take away from the resort for our beach adventures. Free cruiser bike rentals. A poolside bar. Very nice pool and hot tub, directly on the ocean on the east side of the island. Central location makes excursions to the north OR south very reasonable. Or just stay put...you won't be disappointed.

We stayed here for a week and we’ve had better stayed elsewhere. |Things we liked: |Centralized location we were about 30-45min drive to Princeville or south side of the island area around Kōloa.|Small center for Kapa’a that had shopping and restaurants. |Safeway ,ABC store and Starbucks within walking distance from hotel |We had a great interaction with pool staff & bar crew||Things we did not like |The hotel offers resort pass to non guests which filled up the pool loungers early on like 9:30 everything was “saved” with visitors and guests wish staff would manage this better. ||The rooms are a lot smaller than it looks on pictures we had 2 “queens “ ( more like full beds) and it was very tight with luggage’s.||The AC is extremely LOUD!!! | Bring earplugs we had maintenance come up to check it out and he said it was normal & some rooms it’s even louder ( any louder I would sleep outside instead) ||Parking after 8pm is either in the overflow grass area ||* be aware if you’re staying in the building that’s closes to their valet area room numbers 122-137 through 422-437 with room facing that extra building be aware they hold luau twice a week + wedding so kids naps or day nap before dinner is not happening it’s very loud

The hotel was conveniently located on the island to the activities we wanted to do. We ate at the brunch eat morning. The food was good, but the service was okay - they don't seem to like to give you water to drink. We had some drinks at the Crooked Surf and the staff there was very nice. The complementary bikes were very nice to ride along the ocean trail. The hotel itself was a little outdated - not horrible, but noticeable. I would recommend they replace the pillows in the rooms. All 4 of our pillows were completely flat that even stacking them on top didn't help. We were able to request new ones and they brought them to us right away.

Google
Wonderful resort. Affordable with beautiful views and perfect location. Janice at the crooked surf made our evenings fun and she helped us navigate the island. The food was yummy. Get an ocean view room for an amazing sunrise everyday. And the nightly music just tops it off.

My experience here at the Sheraton was absolutely perfect. I love the garden outside area with the fireplace. It was so nice and cozy and relaxing after a day of traveling and sightseeing. The only issue is the parking. This location is very convenient to everything and not far out from the airport. I will definitely stay here again

Yelp
Stayed here with my wife for our Babymoon. We had an unfortunate incident in our first room after we checked in where the bathroom ended up flooded with water. The engineer said water had come up from the under sink faucet handle because it had not been shut completely. My wife and I were shocked by this since we definitely didn't see it leaking water at all before and we couldn't even reproduce it. Anyways, we asked the front desk if we could be moved and they were able to accommodate us with a larger room and even removed our resort fees for the stay! The rest of our stay at the hotel was wonderful. The staff is very nice and looks genuinely happy. The concierge was very helpful in giving us ideas for our itinerary. The pool and bar were a nice place to relax for a bit every day. It is located right next to a beach and ocean however it is not ever really in a condition to be going into. We didn't really try the food at the restaurants since there's so many other places to eat around the area. The hotel is nicely located so it's a short drive to Kapaa town and about 30 min to Poipu, the airport in Lihue and even the north shore. The coffee shop is okay and the wait can get very long at around 8 am. We were able to find a much better coffee spot that became our go to for the rest of the stay just a few minutes away. I think this hotel is just missing a spa but we were able to find one close by in Kapaa. Overall it was a very pleasant hotel to come back to every day and relax and pretty centrally located if you want to explore the entire island.

Yelp
The door handle to the balcony was dusty. You know housekeeping doesn't wipe it down between stays because there's dust build-up on the top and bottom of the handle. The same goes for the nightstand and table/dresser; dust & water ring stains. I always wipe down tabletops and door handles when I stay at hotels, but this is unacceptable. 1-ply toilet paper? Really? This is the Sheraton, not Motel 6. Please use better toilet paper. Sheraton should know that we have 3 guests staying in the room. Every single day we had to ask for more towels. We called both housekeeping and the front desk 2-3x before we got an answer. Again, unacceptable. Hotel activities for kids are always around 3 - 4 pm. Why? Activities should be earlier in the day (not just AM Yoga), or later. As tourists, we have activities planned as well. Sad that my daughter missed out on ALL of the activities Sheraton had to offer. As for Christmas, not a lot was offered for kids. On Christmas Eve, a trolley was pulled out for kids to pick. Toys from Oriental Trading. We were also NOT given a lei or welcome drink upon arrival. A $40 resort fee per day is severely overpriced when the only thing available for us to use is the pool and gym. No cameras. No bikes. No class for us to enjoy because we had excursions already planned. We are very unhappy with our stay and at $2200 for 4 days, we will not be returning.

Yelp
We booked a 2 queen bed room months ago. This is what was confirmed in confirmation email, and what we were expecting. A day before we were set to arrive my wife checked in online and saw that we were only given 1 king bed, a scenario making it impossible for mom and dad to have their own bed from the 2 kids on the reservation. When we called to inquire they said they're sorry they've oversold the rooms. Overselling is a practice of trying to ensure 100% occupancy, but renting out over 100% of the rooms, so that cancellations don't dent the 100%. We asked by they didn't tell us about this ahead of time and they said oh, we never call people to let them know this kind of thing, "never"! It's wild not letting people know they're getting a drastically different room than they contracted for with the room reservation? It's also a bait and switch, getting people to invest their time and money without being honest with them about what they're getting and also not giving them a chance to book alternate accommodations. If this happens to you too you too should file a complaint with the State or Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection for this deceptive business practice.

Yelp
Great family resort with plenty of activities to do in the resort or near it! Beautiful pool and fire pit area with a view of Pacific while winding down! There is a trail that leads you either into Kapaa or keeps you along the shoreline. If looking to stay on the property, they have a playroom area restaurants to satisfy your appetite and thirst!

Molly J.

Yelp
Beware of hidden fees! We booked online through their website and paid up front but they will ask you to pay $100/day as an "incidental charge" and will actually charge you $40/day for a "resort fee" service charge at checkout. It's essentially a hidden fee that they never warn you about or tell you up front. Never experienced this at any hotels that we've stayed at previously (4 star and 5 star hotels). We also experienced German cockroaches in our hotel room. Killed about 3 of them in our bathroom. They offered to spray/fumigate the room as their procedure but didn't want to smell chemicals throughout the night so we refused their procedure. They didn't do anything else about it. Not the best experience, won't be booking here again. They sure know how to leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Yelp
I stayed her just under 7 years ago when it was the Courtyard Marriott Coconut Beach and I am not sure if it is because I had such a short stay or I just didn't know much about amenities (if they had them)....but I basically booked for a 1 week stay here and this place is great. There were slight hiccups here and there I would say but I don't expect perfection especially on a rain soaked night I arrived and another rain soaked morning right after....but first off... STAFF = 10+ Check In Desk - Awesome friendly helpful answered questions (the gal who checked me in even knew where I was from in CA)....At times I would go down to ask for a small item and they would grab it for me.... Valet/Bell Desk area everybody always welcomed you when you came in or out of the hotel. Concierge - Karen and Natalie were awesome help! Housekeeping was awesome... Maintenance - fixed my tub drain when I was out Couple of hiccups - I asked for a microwave and they put one in my room and the start button didn't work so I put it out and if I knew there was a microwave so close to my room where the vending and ice machine were I wouldn't have asked for one....the ice machine on this floor didn't work so I had to go down one level to use that one which was fine.... Gym - Clean and good amount of equipment I utilized it multiple times during my stay...only thing the A/C in there is bad so they compensate with a portable one as well but it just isn't strong enough.... Finally, one extra bonus is the Hospitality Room offered because I had late checkout but my flight wasn't way until 9:38PM so I was able to check my luggage in with the bell area and after doing some things I was able to take a shower in the hospitality room get my items and leave...awesome!

Yelp
terrible service hotel, computer system was down for 2 days when we arrived on Dec 14, 2024. we can't even get a room key, everytime we have to ask someone come up to open the room for us. also, internet wifi was super super slow! the worse thing is you can't use internet provided from the hotel and you can't have a room key for your room. they still charged us resort fees!!!!!! unbelievable! won't recommend anyone stay at this hotel. very disappointed!

Yelp
We had the worst experience at a hotel ever at this place. Our hotel room door was left open by housekeeping 2 of the 4 days we stayed there! The door to Room 360 needs to be pulled shut, but the housekeepers couldn't be bothered to make sure it was closed. They would have checked at their own hotel room... The first time the door was left open (all day on our first full day there since we came back at 9) we were nice and forgiving. Our keys didn't work so the guy at the front desk reset them and also had security escort us since our door had been unlocked. He also said he would notify housekeeping so they can be sure to close our door next time. Security had to contact maintenance who had to replace the battery (?) in our door to make the keys work. Nothing was stolen. I left a note to housekeeping the next day telling them to please lock the door and that it had been left open the day prior. One of the housekeepers wrote a nice not back apologizing and stating that she would notify her team so this wouldn't happen again. Well, I did not leave a note on day 3 and we came home to another opened door! I was livid. The guy at the front desk and the housekeeper said they would take care of the issue but neither actually did! Talk about incompetence! Thank goodness my laptop computer and expensive bags were still there. Thank goodness my friend's wallet was still there! It was probably opened for at least 7 hours that day! We called the guest services # but no one answered. (During our trip we called them once around 8PM and another time around 1PM. We got no answer both times!) So we went all the way back to the lobby to speak with a manager. He apologized but said since we ordered through Costco he could not give any refunds. He could give us one free buffet breakfast, even though we were staying for 2 more nights. Weird and pathetic. We should have gotten at least one night free or something similar. I will be filing a claim with the BBB. Also, the shower was broken so half of the water was coming out of the faucet by my feet while half was coming out of the shower nozzle the whole time. In addition, the bath tub was clogged and kept filling up with water while we showered. Gross. Sadly, the bathroom door never even actually closed! There was about 1" space (see photo) keeping it open. And it was loud, clicking when we slid it open and closed. We basically had no privacy. Every time we came home our AC was also blasting. We set it at 79 but the AC would be on even if it was below 70 degrees! They claim to focused on being sustainable yet blast AC and waste water in the shower. What an ordeal! I was in shock when my friend told me this place is apparently a 4 star hotel. Stay away. You have been warned.

Yelp
The Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort is our latest go to destination when we just want to unwind and enjoy peaceful days of sunshine, rainbows and a gorgeous beach. We are so impressed with the staff who are here to please and the comforting accommodations. We never thought we would leave the other side of the island but this resort has everything we look for in a journey's end. There's just something magical about the water and from this location the beach is sublime. Mahalo, Ron and Brenda Baughman

Yelp
I don't stay in fancy places like this very often. But I splurged by spending all my saved up "points" and stayed here for a few days. I was really impressed by everything about the place! They really got the luxury hotel in paradise thing right! * The staff was great, every single one of them that I crossed paths with. It's clear that they liked their job, were outgoing friendly people. Bravo to the entire staff. * I ate breakfast there each morning I was there. The food was really good, fresh, good portion size, and of course having breakfast in the open air, next to a beautiful beach certainly helped the experience! * I loved my room! 3rd floor, with a decent sized balcony, complete with comfortable chair, looking right out on the ocean. * They did an impressive job with activities. They had something going on constantly for guests. I never participated, but I appreciated it. * The room itself was beautiful and functional. Really good bed, all the modern conveniences of chargers, tv with lots of bells and whistles etc. Wifi was excellent. * I also loved the location. Although it's technically "on the strip" with the other hotels, it's also somewhat secluded from them. And it afforded me a nice long walk down the beach, walking down to this awesome marketplace a half-mile or so away. * went to their Luau one night, and its was a good experience, but one I probably wouldn't want to repeat. They chose to take the "ultra authentic" route, with all the dishes being local, and the dancers being trained in authentic tribal dance. It was fun, but the net result, imo, was food that wasn't great, and the dance stuff that was kind of overdone. In hindsight, I would have preferred some better, not-quite-authentic food, and just some dancers who juggled flaming torches or whatever (more entertaining and less pretentious).

Yelp
I decided this would be the hotel we would stay at for our Kaua'i vacation to celebrate my husband's birthday. We booked through a Costco package. When we arrived we asked if we could upgrade. We were able to view room 491 to see if we wanted to upgrade and happy we did! It is a gorgeous room so we went for it! I'm sure we spent way too much money on but it was worth it. Overall this hotel was clean, accommodating, great location. The pool was unfortunately too cold. I did not ask about it, I assumed the heater was just off. They do have a couple restaurants on site that you pay high prices for but that is expected. Parking is self parking. We never had an issue finding a place to park. There's a nice walking path for morning walks with ocean views. I am pleased with picking the Sheraton Kaua'i Coconut Beach Resort to be our home base for our Kauai vacation.

Ryan R.

Yelp
Beautiful renovated rooms. Clean grounds and friendly customer service. This may be the best location on the island. We cannot wait to be back. Ask to have a room away from Luau if noise is a problem for you. It is a nightly event. We were taken care of beautifully by Patrick at the front desk area too with all our questions. A true professional and has made our trip so much more full and fun. Bike rentals, coolers, towels for the beach etc. all nice perks for this beautiful oasis.

Lindsay D.

Yelp
Cute hotel on the beach. They have various activities on site throughout the day which it nice. The pool is a good size and the jacuzzi feels amazing. Not much of a swimming beach as there is a reef right out front. But still beautiful nonetheless. Walking distance to food and shopping center.

Yelp
Very happy with our week here. Super friendly staff. Room and ocean view were great. Great Starbucks coffee on premises with friendly staff and good coffee. Plenty of pool chairs and towels too...Well maintained property. Will definitely return.

Yelp
In light of our initial Airbnb reservation, we subsequently secured accommodations at the Sheraton Coconut Beach Resort upon check-in due to an unfortunate experience with Airbnb host Francine & Danielle at Waikomo Stream Villas in Poipu. The Airbnb rental was dirty upon arrival and after a phone conversation and texting with a combative and rude host, led to a mere $200 reimbursement for a $2,624 booking, prompting a last-minute Expedia search for a suitable hotel. Arriving at the Sheraton around 9 pm, Virgie, an exceptional front desk personnel, checked us in, graciously upgrading us to an ocean-view room. Immersing ourselves in a superbly managed hotel, with four floors boast enclosed hallways with open windows and doors to the outside, creating a spacious and welcoming atmosphere. Our room, equipped with a king-size bed featuring both feather and firm pillows, included a mini-fridge stocked with champagne and delectable chocolates. Notably, the ocean-view balcony afforded breathtaking sunrise views. During our 6-night stay, the hotel's meticulous daily room cleaning, prompt service requests, and swift in-room dining, arriving within 15-20 minutes, significantly enhanced our experience. The proficiently functioning AC, maintaining a cool 68 degrees, would be complemented by a fan during humid days. In terms of amenities, each floor houses a washer and dryer at a cost of $7.50 per load. The hotel floors each have a microwave, soda machine (Pepsi products), and an ice machine. Access to rooms is facilitated by elastic bracelets with attached mini-cards for convenient door scanning. The hotel presented a diverse array of activities, including lei making, shaved ice, sunrise yoga, crafts, ukulele, hula, live music, and a paid luau. Complimentary beach cruisers, with the option of a lock for pit stops. The on-site coffee shop had quality coffee, pastries, and a noteworthy bacon-grilled panini. Breakfast at Daybreak, enjoyed with a view of the grounds and sunrise, we opted for a classic breakfast option and a papaya granola yogurt bowl. The game room, equipped with board games and a Nintendo Switch, and the lobby's captivating entrance added to the hotel's allure. Strategically located in Kapaa, the Sheraton proved an optimal choice. Its proximity to both the north and south shores, a mere 40-45 minutes away, and a 10-minute drive to the airport, enhanced our convenience. The hotel's central location also only a 1hr and 20-minute journey to Waimea & Kalalau lookout. In conclusion, the Sheraton Coconut Beach Resort not only remedied our Airbnb predicament but also epitomized unparalleled hospitality and service. A heartfelt appreciation goes to Virgie for her attentiveness, culminating in a memorable 11th wedding anniversary celebration in Kauai

Yelp
Outstanding Poi making demonstration by Kanoa Mayer. I had the pleasure of watching Kanoa pound taro into poi. Not only was he skilled in making the poi, his answers to numerous questions about the food value and culinary practices of Hawaiian's was extraordinary. We had the chance to taste the before and after taro products, simply amazing. Kanoa's commentaries about the Hawaiian land, culture and people reflext a deep knowledge and love for all the subjects.

Ben A.

Yelp
Karen at the Concierge Desk is amazing. She gave us great advice for a driving tour north, best beach options including the Poipu Beach where turtles rest in the afternoon, and best of all, arranged a catamaran tour of the western coast! We can't thank Karen enough!

Renee R.

Yelp
Nice hotel, clean, beach in front isn't great, rock shelf is close. Chairs/hammocks to sit by the beach. Pool is nice, the spa is large! Towels to take on tours or out for the day. Friendly staff. Perfect location. Stores you can walk to for convenience.

Shaina B.

Yelp
Family was there for a week during spring break. We had a great time! The people were FABULOUS and customer service was amazing. The beds were comfy, rooms always cleaned... Seriously, we'd stay again!

Jeff M.

Yelp
Location of Sheraton is good for those that want a little of it all and centrally located. Our end of July trip to Kauai was awesome. Close to Airport, close to a few small towns, it has a small beach area, pool with outdoor bar, and makes it easy to go to Canyons Park or the Princeville area too. Hotel has good amenities (restaurant, towel service, pool, beach, ocean views). Two restaurants, a bar, coffee shop and breakfast buffet (w/ fee). Pool was nice, clean and provided options on depth, seating, towels, & food/ drinks. Have a nice game room that is family friendly as it is next to the pool bar. Rooms and grounds were nicely furnished and clean. I think there are a few areas of opportunity and awareness. Some of the hotel team needs a little retraining. Staff (Valet, bartenders, and some front desk members) were a little cold and not very engaging. However, the cleaning crew members were very nice and hard working. I want to make one call out for exceptional service = 'Cedric' at the front desk. He was polite, respectful, super helpful, friendly, happy/ pleasant and engaging. Thank you Cedric! Parking was a disappointing. By evening, there was no place to park and we had to park in the public beach access or the grass. Luau or Weddings punished the guests - maybe push visitors into overflow parking. Noticed a few nice cars parking in overflow/grass, had flat tires in the AM. Didn't feel safe. Our room was three rooms from the elevators/atrium but was very noisy. Door slamming all night that shook our room and bed. Either other guest rooms or a service room across the hallway. A lot of hallway noise too. Highly suggest that you ask for a room away from center and higher floors. And note the patios are a little small - barely held two chairs. Overall we would definitely stay here again but plan to navigate better. Thanks all.

Cindi Sue C.

Yelp
Beautiful property close to stores and restaurants. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There are a few restaurants and bars on campus and the Crooked Bar has a happy hour from 4-6pm daily. The pool has views of the ocean and is in good condition and is clean. There's also a jacuzzi. A great place to enjoy a cocktail while watching the sunset! The rooms have beautiful wooden shutters and a balcony with chairs. Decor is tastefully done and not overdone. Simply yet Hawaiian and beachy. I appreciated how clean the room was! I liked the large bathroom counter also. I'm picky about the comfort of beds and pillows and they had both! The pillows were down filled and heavenly. They also have bikes to use and plenty of water filling stations for your water bottles. I walked to the local grocery store and bought fresh pineapple and makings for Mai Tais. Your dollar will go much farther this way. Don't forget to bring a refillable plastic cup for this purpose :) Safeway has fresh sushi rolls also for a reasonable price. Comfort, cleanliness, good location, ambience and amenities are important to me when staying at hotels and this one hit them all!

Aubrie R.

Yelp
This is a nice little resort, no big frills or anything but pretty solid. We were told multiple times that we were in the best room on the property so I think that helped. Other parts of the hotel were a little dated so I think if we had been in any other room we wouldn't have been as happy. That said, our stay on this island was so busy, we didn't even use the pool! We got short order breakfasts to go each day (dang good by the way!) and we didn't return until the evening! Then we headed back out for dinner and such... The gals at the coffee bar were a delight each morning and I'm craving an ube latte right this minute! One afternoon we did rent bikes and had a great ride on the bike path literally off of our lanai so that was a great perk! Location was pretty great with a Long's Drugs in the same parking lot (easy to grab chocolates for your souvenirs!) and super close to the shops and restaurants at Coconut Grove. (Some yummy Thai if you need a quick fix and all the shave ice you could hope for!)

Katherine P.

Yelp
I was very pleased with our stay from the moment we checked in. The lobby is so inviting and really screams Hawaiian vacay! Everyone was very friendly, check in process was seamless and our room was ready before the 4 PM check-in time. As a titanium platinum member I received an upgrade to a beautiful ocean front room and was very pleased. The room was so spacious, the beds comfortable, gorgeous high ceilings and the lanai was so spacious. What a great way to watch sunset and sunrise. The pool area was awesome. It had a pool for the little kiddos and then one for everyone else. Lots of seating and just had a great relaxing vibe with the beach just steps away. They have hammocks and beach chairs available at the beach too. Even had shaved ice and s'mores served at the pool on specific days. They had activities at the hotel and just overall we loved her stay. They have bikes too if you want to take an advantage of those too. Live music on fridays at the pool and they have a luau onsite at the hotel if you want to go to luau. Note it's not free to guest which is not what I expected anyway. Bring a reusable bottle as they do have water filling stations in the hotel. Location was perfect, walking distance to many restaurants, stores and the grocery store.

Stephanie O.

Yelp
I was so surprised when I went to the coffee bar and the bald server at the register was not friendly. I recieved my food order quickly and my drinks were forgotten about ( black coffee and bottle water) I'm thinking what did I do wrong when I'm patiently waited . Another gentleman saw me waiting and assisted giving me a water bottle, very observant and helpful. When I finally got to eat my sandwich it had a piece of something burnt . So I didn't eat it . Waste of my money and time .

Melinda R.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay in Sheraton. It is walking distance to the Coconut Market which is a bunch of shops and restaurants nearby. There is an ABC store with food and a coffee shop, it's all in one. We stayed during Thanksgiving Weekend and the restaurant had a buffet dinner and there was a la cart dishes in the restaurant by the pool. There is also an arcade area where you can order food. We hanged out by the pool and the hot tub everyday. The beach is not but I do not recommend to swim in the water. The water current and waves were strong. In the lobby you can check out towels and return them for a new one. Over all it is a resort. Everything you need is available including bikes and beach chairs.

Sam S.

Yelp
Great location just off highway 15 minute drive from Lihue airport. Beach is beautiful but not swimmable. Multiple pools, jacuzzi, game room and free bike rentals. Multiple bars and restaurants. Walking distance to groceries, bars and restaurants. Service could be better.

Kevin G.

Yelp
The grounds are well kept and relatively clean. Staff are all happy to help and friendly, Shay at the bar is great conversation and makes a killer house Mai-tai! It is a must for your visit. Erwin was also showed great hospitality during our stay. Being Kama'aina and Marriott members doing a staycation from neighbor islands, we were hopeful for a better room and discount but nonetheless we had a great time and it's easy relaxing. Our room was facing parking lot and small. The sun sets on the other side of the island so if ur a morning person this resort is great for sunrise, but is cold in the evenings and no sunset if you're not a morning person. Despite how pictures look online; the beach directly behind the resort is is NOT swimmable, especially if you're not experienced in the ocean.

Krista S.

Yelp
We loved our stay here at the Sheraton Coconut Beach Resort! We actually did not expect it to be this nice, but I guess they are newly renovated and their rooms were so pretty! We had a lanai that was enough to fit two people (but its really where we just hung our wet swimsuits!) Beds and bathrooms were clean and they come with all the necessities (mini fridge, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer etc) The amenities were the best... they have an infinity pool which is next to their outdoor restaurant (Crooked Surf) So you can lounge at the pool, order food and watch the game (NBA Playoffs were on when we were there!) they also have a private beach where they have chairs and hammocks laid out with umbrellas and you can just lay out there.. they also have games (corn hole, jenga, etc) that you can play with family and friends. They have a full gym and free beach towel and bike rentals as well (came really handy when you just want to go to the nearest ABC store and you don't want to drive) The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Whenever I called about an issue (we had some AC issue and house keeping) they fixed it quickly or made the proper reservations I needed. Just be prepared.. all these amenities and parking come with a price. This is not a cheap hotel, but it is worth the money that you pay. Esp with the location. It's about 35 mins from Poipu (great snorkeling beach), 15 mins from Lihue Airport, and 45 mins from Waimea Canyon!

Yelp
We had a spectacular time with our first visit at Kauai here at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort. We had a full week of island fun, and Sheraton Kauai was an excellent base to start each day. I think its strategically located at the center of the island. It about equidistant to both Hanalei and Hanapepe with is great. But what comes being centrally located means traffic. Really? Yup. Kauai is a more laid back island than Oahu or Maui but tourists abound. Doesn't bother me a bit. Hey were in Hawaii right? Sheraton gave us some upgraded views of the pool and the beach because it took longer to have our room ready; that was much appreciated. The room was good; nice décor, proper bathroom, and the space is sufficient. As with half of the hotels visited though, the pillow was too soft. A double pillow is in order to have a comfy sleep. The pool was nice. My kids were always having a blast when they were in the pool. I do like that the beach is just a few steps away. Some outdoor games, hammock, and beach chair along the sands was very nice. The water was rough though. Its good enough to wade knee deep, but the side currents is strong. Overall, we had a great stay at Sheraton Kauai Coconut.

Yelp
The staff at the Sheraton are super nice and helpful. They truly understand what it means to make their guests feel at home in Kauai.

Yelp
The view from the room and dining area was nice but the walls were so thin you could hear every little noise from the hallway which made taking a really important video meeting very hard. The breakfast was also surprisingly and disappointingly below average. The only thing I could say was really good was the juice. I think it was a guava, pinapple, and mango possibly. The fruit was bland, the eggs powdery and cold, the potatoes tasted really strongly of burnt oil, and so did the bacon but not as much. It was from the buffet but it wasn't even averagely good. Should have ordered from the menu instead.

Yelp
First off- If you're looking to stay at a resort where you can 'swim' at the beach, this is *not* the place to stay. While they do have lounge chairs + hammocks they provide for guests to enjoy on the beachfront, the water itself is rough and choppy with signs posted that it's dangerous to get in. Go ahead and take a walk along the shoreline to get your feet wet-- it's definitely perfect for that romantic stroll. During the 4 days we stayed at this place, the only people 2 people we saw swimming were locals who were spearfishing. No one else. The BEST part of this beach were the perfect views for sunrise each morning. We never missed a day of watching the sunrise here because it is Kauai, after all. Watching the sunrise across the ocean was magical in itself. Now onto my actual stay. The staff was all very accommodating and greeted us with black kukui nut lei necklaces upon arrival. They give you a bracelet that works as your room key which was super convenient so that you didn't have to carry around a separate key to stash. The bracelets were also waterproof so you could take them into the pool with you. We were able to use Marriott Bonvoy points to book. While I would have preferred an 'ocean view' room, I was content being on the bottom floor and having easy access to the pool area. The room was spacious, modern and clean. At this time they are not doing daily housekeeping post Covid but they do come in to take out the trash and replace towels if needed. Here are the perks that come with the hotel (which are included as part of the daily $32 resort fee): *2 Fresh towels per person to use for both the pool or the beach which you can check out at the front desk. They have a sign in sheet where you write in your room # plus time you checked out towels. Once you sign your name, you're good to go. All towels must be returned back to the front desk otherwise they will charge you for them. *Free beach cruiser bikes (they come with locks) to use for the bike trail or wherever you want to go in town to explore. They have a beautiful 6 mile trail along the coastline that I biked the first full day I was there. The trail itself was easy to ride. There were mini hills but nothing I would call difficult. And you can't beat the coastline ocean views. Oh and make sure to keep a lookout for whales! I saw a few in the distance when I noticed other people standing with binoculars. One gentleman was kind enough to share his binoculars with me so that I could take a closer look. *Free Wifi which worked pretty well in the room and across the property. *Gym with free weights + treadmills + bikes and most important-- cold filtered water which I used regularly to refill my gallon judge. *Live entertainment during the weekends which on one night was a jazz band. *Yoga sunrise class at 7am on 2 days of the week. (They handed out a calendar for what days they offered activities) We only had breakfast at the on site "Daybreak" restaurant once while we stayed and I'm happy to say that both dishes were very good. The Loco Moco had the runny egg exactly how I like it with gravy that wasn't too salty. I loved the sticky consistency of rice because I don't normally eat this stuff at home. The meat patty smothered in the gravy with onions, mushrooms and freshly chopped chives tasted so good. The Ube Mochi pancakes drizzled with ube sauce sprinkled with chopped macadamia nuts and a pan sautéed banana was probably the best I've tasted in a long time. It wasn't super sweet and we thoroughly enjoyed this. Between the two dishes, we were so full. One small disappointment was the jacuzzi being broken during our entire stay. The jets were working however the water was never hot (or even warm). They did have a sign to let guests know that they were doing their best to have it up and running again. Didn't happen for us. The pool was family friendly with a separate shallow pool for toddlers and little ones to wade or splash around in. The bigger pool only got as deep as 4feet. I usually like my pools to have a deep end (at least 8 feet) but I was okay. They also had a grassy area in front of the waterfront where they had games for guests to play. These included Cornhole, Jenga, Connect 4 and others. Another perk of staying here is that they have a Long's Drugs right across the property in the parking lot if you need to buy anything. Also walkable is a Safeway and Ross + several other restaurants if you want to dine anywhere else. We loved our stay here and would it recommend to anyone else.

Yelp
We booked with Costco travel and stayed a week here. Overall we were pretty happy. Pros- Free bike rentals. We enjoyed taking bikes out and to the nearby lunch spots Pool is beautiful and has wonderful view Beds were comfortable Moa Moa restaurant on property was delicious Cons- On site coffee shop is meh and expensive Beach is not safe to swim in Multiple times they ran out of pool towels and it was a scavenger hunt to find more- very annoying Local area didn't feel all that nice- seemed to have transient population in nearby area along bike paths Our room overlooked their luau space. While we enjoyed some of it, I did not enjoy hearing the loud drums and microphone multiple nights of the trip. I feel like they should have warned us that our room would be directly next to it. Also- most rooms while I'm sure are listed as ocean view have this awkward angled wall that cuts off a majority of the view. Strange design feature that would really bug if paying more for the ocean view.

Yelp
This is a gorgeous venue with a ton of amenities. Several food stops, a luau service, a bar with sports on that you can see from the pool. The hot tub is very hot and we enjoyed that. Loved the hammocks around the ocean where you could really enjoy the beach and the surf. My only complaint is the room is loud. Not in the sense that you can hear others but the door slams behind you very noisily. The toilet flushes like an airplane shoot and we both woke each other up with it. Outside of that love the location. Perfect to do the secret falls kayak and hike

Yelp
This is a very nice property on a nice beach located very close to Lihue Airport. Our room was nice. The walls are paper thin and we could easily hear people in both rooms on either side of us. The pool/jacuzzi area are well kept and well designed. The first person that I encountered was a rude desk clerk. Unfortunately I did not get her name. That set the tone for the 4 days that we stayed there. The rest of the staff that we met were friendly for the most part although they could be inattentive at times. I like Marriott properties worldwide and I frequent them as much as I can. We had just come from the Sheraton Waikiki (a first class resort). We will return there. We will not be returning to the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach.

Yelp
I wish I could put ZERO stars. Literally the WORST stay at ANY hotel ever... including seedy motels! We experienced discrimination and targeting by the staff. So much so that multiple managers apologized to us... however that's where their efforts stopped. The 5 adults and 3 kids in our party were cut off from ALL food and beverage service in this "resort" for a period of 48 hours. After part of our party disclosed a disability, the staff cut us off even MORE! We were told repeatedly that the staff was being dealt with and the service would resume, only to be met with a refusal of service... for TWO DAYS. Beyond those two days the staff continued to give us the stink eye anytime we walked through the resort. I even had one of their bell captains want to FIGHT me! I wish I could say I'm exaggerating, or at fault a little, or making this up, but I can't... I don't have this vivid of an imagination. In an attempt to give them opportunity to rectify the matter properly, I reached out directly to management and ownership about the issues we suffered. I had a public affairs officer engage with me for a bit, and then GHOST me. It's now been over a month, and no response (after multiple conversations). They're clearly HIDING from the matter hoping I'll go away, but I've only just begun... This place will treat you like an outsider. You'll feel VERY unwelcome by their staff... but the owners will have their money already! And of course, the resort has zero security cameras to look at as evidence... likely a decision made to further protect themselves instead of the guests. Speaking from direct, personal, and hurtful experience, they'll discard you if there's any issue. Want to know more? Reach out to me directly! I'll be happy to reiterate the details and save you from experiencing this place.

Yelp
We stayed at this resort a couple of weeks ago for our Kauai vacation as it was included in our vacation package and we were not disappointed! The location in Kapa'a is nicely located midway between the more touristy parts of Kauai so getting around is a breeze. We were on the 3rd floor in 350 and had good views of the pool and the ocean. Keep in mind "ocean view" could mean slightly obstructed as was in this room, but still a good overall view. If you want a true ocean view room there are some on the outlying "side" buildings of the resort. The pool can get crowded at times but most people were polite enough to give each other space to float around and enjoy a relaxing time. They have plenty of sun chairs around the pool area. The beach at this resort isn't the most swimmable (unless you're a strong swimmer) but offers good views of the sunrise and a nice stretch of sand to walk along. The resort is walkable to a central strip mall type area with a grocery store, some restaurants (Italian, American) and your standard souvenir shops. There's also a Longs Drug just a stone's throw away from the resort. You can check out beach umbrellas, beach chairs, and coolers for your day at the beach. We get up early so it wasn't an issue with availability but I did overhear some folks saying they were all out by around 8 am. The small onsite breakfast area is good for takeaway coffee and small breakfast items if you don't want to sit down. The staff from check in to check out and everything in between were all very friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to Dawn for your service throughout our stay. She was always ready and willing to ask about our day the day before when we'd come across her in the mornings - ask if we need anything to help complete our day. The valet staff were all ready to help or offer tips for the island activities if needed. Rooms were clean and temperatures easily set for comfort. A couple of complaints that prevented a 5 star rating....1) would be with the bathroom - there is no dim light option so if you need to go at night, you might be blinded when turning it on initially & 2) during luau nights, parking is a nightmare. They use the regular guest lot for luau attendees as well so if you come back to the resort early, be prepared to park in "overflow" and the way some people park, it doesn't always allow for the most efficient use of that space. It'd probably be more fruitful to have a separate lot for luau attendees and leave the regular lot for paying hotel guests. During our stay we had a notice under our door that they would be conducting their regular, routine pest control - but we would have never known it was done had they not left a note. Good execution by the hotel or 3rd party staff - whoever completed this task. While there are plenty of resorts on Kauai, I'd have to say I'd stay here again. The service and ambiance were all top notch for our stay despite some of the recent poor reviews.

Yelp
If you're gluten free, this is not the resort for you. I wish we had researched their menus before our trip, but we've never had an issue finding GF food for our daughter at resorts before (she has celiac disease and can't digest gluten). The only thing she could eat in the entire resort was a fruit platter. Pretty ridiculous. Needless to say, we had to rent a car and do all of our eating elsewhere. Just wanted to share this in case it helps someone else. When we arrived at 4:30 pm (check in is at 4 pm), the front desk clerk told us they didn't have the room we had booked, which was 2 queens. All they could give us was one king with a rollaway bed. So our adult daughter had to sleep on a rollaway the entire 6 days we stayed here. Just be aware that you may not get the type of room you specifically booked because apparently they randomly give them away.

Yelp
My family stayed at this hotel in Kauai for 2 nights, and we loved it! The breakfast was delicious, and there were many food options. The pool was kid friendly, and there were 2 pools; a shallow one for littler kids and a deeper one. There was even free, unlimited shave ice from 1-3 pm, which was also very delicious. Our room got cleaned every day too. There are many fun activities here such as games in the game room, a gym, a bar, and a poolside restaurant. There was also very comfortable and fun seating in and by the pool, including hammocks. There were many fun activities for kids too such as coloring, making kites, and painting rocks. My almost 3 year old brother colored in the morning, and had a lot of fun. One of the employees: Kayla, was especially nice to our family. She worked at the shave ice machine, and she was very friendly, she colored with my brother, she got out kites for us to make after the event had already ended, and she was always eager to help us. Kayla made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kauai!

Yelp
A beautiful location, spectacular views and steps away from enjoying the beach. When I'm in town I love sitting on a lounge chair by the beach and listening to the ocean. This location is convenient and a short distance to restaurants, shops, etc. The staff ( Cedric, Fernando, Dana) to name a few are always so welcoming and kind. There is also some restaurants on the property if you just want to relax at the hotel.

Yelp
Not sure where to start other than - wish I had read the reviews. Buckle up, because vibes are OFF at this hotel. Here's the truth: - Staff (I'd say *most* of the day crew) treat you like they're doing you a favor by letting you stay at "their" hotel. Night crew? Totally different vibe. Funny, fun, and didn't act like they HATED their jobs. - Staff pt 2: it's clear this hotel is understaffed - BUT of you're understaffed, then why do you keep selling out the entire resort? A lot of times, one person behind the desk and we chose not to have any housekeeping services (especially after looking at the reviews). - Access to the beach: beachfront? Yes accessable? Not really. - Pool: When they say *Caution, slippery when wet* that is NOT an understatement. It is dangerous. I'm someone who grew up in the midwest with ice, and live in the pacific northwest now with the rain - and I fell by the pool. I don't drink, and I wasn't running. Ended up with a gnarly bruise on my knee that then swelled. I went to the bar to ask for ice and was greeted with an annoyed eye roll from the staff who then asked me "Wait you fell?" I explained to two staff individuals where and how I fell. They told me mantinance would be out there (spoiler alert they never came). - The pool itself? Beautiful, until the last day where both the heat in the pool AND in the hot tub "broke." Management insisted that someone had been out there and that the heat was "fixed" - however if you went IN the water you'd know it wasn't. - The pool area: Dirty. Plates left out from serving staff all day, even into the evening. Used towels are EVERYWHERE (honestly I blame the other guests for this - how hard is it? Pick up your used towels when youre done and return them). - Towels: good luck getting one at peak times of the day. Most likely, they've run out. - Check in/Check out: When they say check in is 4pm GOOD LUCK getting in ANY earlier. When they say check out is 11am - there is little to no flexibility there. We opted to leave a day early. Since we didn't want to spend the last day of our trip living out of our suitcase for 8 hours. - Room itself? Fine. I am going to end this long take on a ~4 day stay with a bold, but I think true, statement: The hotel and staff (not all, but this does tend to go from the top down) are racist, bias, and ableist. While by the pool on the 3rd day at the hotel I witnessed a gross misuse of power by one of the hotel staff. He was an older white male who went out to the pool for so it seemed, only one reason. I watched him bend down and tell two south asian kids (peobably 12-15 years old, brothers) to stop playing with a water football. While these two were tossing a football around there was ALSO a group of 3 white boys and 1 white girl playing with a ball. He did not tell them to stop using their ball in the pool. So, what's the rule, then? Were balls allowed in the pool or not? Or were they only allowed for the white guests? This is even more interesting as the day we arrived we saw a lot of kids playing with balls in the pool AND some older women on inflatable rafts, none of whom were told to stop. I told front desk staff about the interaction, but...see above. Since witnessing that interaction, I chatted with a few other guests who had either witnessed or been involved in some sort of prejudiced experience at the hotel. One South Asian woman was ignored at the bar while she watched only White people be served. When asked for a lemon wedge she was told to wait, the bartender didn't come back and the wedges were in front of her so she thought she'd save him the trouble and pick one out of the container. She was reprimanded for doing so - but then watched the same man watch a white woman take a lemon wedge with her fingers and did nothing. Another South Asian woman and her family waited almost 12 hours for clean towels for their hotel room. They had turned down housekeeping services but requested clean bath towels. After being out all day (abt 9-4) they returned to no clean towels. She asked the front desk again for clean towels, after an hour once again no clean towels. So the third time she asks she states she'll be in the shower please drop off the towels at the door and she'll bring them inside. They say okay and she asks if they'll be in a bag...no they won't. Clean towels will be on the floor in the hall that hasn't been cleaned in who knows how long for her to dry herself off with after sitting on the floor??? Oh come ON. I wish I could say that was it but when you aren't the only one during your stay who feels like an imposition you just know something isn't right. HARD PASS on this hotel. Kauai and Kapa'a were both beautiful. This hotel was the opposite. Avoid it. Also I was made aware that it was a hotel that Costco vacations uses so keep an eye out there.

Yelp
We have been to Kauai a few times now and booked a family vacation with 15 of us July 4-13. Checked in last night. Booked the Sheraton Coconut Grove because the pictures looked amazing and hotel was newly renovated. Should have read the reviews first! Very disappointed! We booked 2 Ocean View rooms and 4 "Garden View" rooms. The hotel website is 100% misleading by saying "garden view", since all 4 rooms open up to the parking garage roof. The view is terrible with no views except a flat rooftop and the front desk lady said those rooms are the best for their standard rooms, unless we want to upgrade $100 a night to ocean view. She mentioned that the "coconut grove" rooms would be what people would consider garden view, but those open up to the luau area that has events 4 nights a week and our "garden view" is really better. To make matters worse, they said you can't get in the ocean at the hotel beach front. No swimming, snorkeling or boggie boarding on the beach. Waves, current and coral make it too dangerous. Doesn't state that anywhere in the website either. I never complain and look for the best in everything, but had to write this review to help others! If you book this hotel you must spend the money to upgrade to the ocean view room! Pictures attached

Yelp
Paid for the beachfront upgrade this year. We needed it. However much I love the overall location, you can't get over the lack of a good beach for fun. The onsite restaurants are just fine and that means Marriott quality food. Passable but not memorable. The rooms - even upgraded- are depressingly standard. Right around Four Points level. We consoled ourselves with the remarkable view and sat in our super cheap plastic chairs on our lanai. Upside - you can walk to about 10 ok restaurants. Downside - staff is ok but not Hawaiian-resort friendly level. I have a feeling they feel let down too.

Yelp
The good: *Staff are friendly and helpful. *Beach is beautiful. *Hotel grounds are nice and garden room had a nice view. * Rooms are clean. *Shopping area nearby if you need to pick things up and many places to eat. The bad: *Roaches. I'd read about them in other reviews and hoped I wouldn't see any. I bought bug spray just in case. I needed it. The day I walked into my room, there was a large, dying roach by the side of one of the beds. I used the bug spray and sprayed everything: crevices, baseboards, doorway, under the mattress pad. The next night, I went to the bathroom and there was a baby roach on the toilet seat. When I woke up, there was another large roach dead on the bathroom floor. I'm from Hawaii. I get that roaches are an issue (tropics, humidity, rain) but it is disconcerting to have them in your room. I didn't sleep well because I was worried about something crawling on me. I guess the silver lining (?) is that obviously the hotel tries to keep them at bay because, even before I sprayed, that first roach was already dying. The ugly: *They have bikes available to use but they're very old and creaky. I selected one and rode off a bit only to have the breaks squeek horrendously. Got another bike with a missing speed switch that just "click-click-clicked" the entire ride. Might be time to invest in better bikes. Overall, my stay was good and i would possibly return, but it probably would've been a better experience if I wasn't worried about creatures crawling on me as I slept.

Yelp
We stayed here on our first night arriving to the island. We were greeted by friendly valets and even though we self parked they were still very friendly and gave us each a kakui nut lei. Vaughn checked us in and he was very friendly and full of aloha. After 16 hours on a plane and dealing with the rental car, Their smiles and friendly welcome really perked us up. The room was comfortable and clean. Some items had been updated such as the bathroom fixtures but overall the place was a little dated. We didn't mind it though: it was just like a good beach side hotel should be. There's a $40 resort fee that you have to pay but it includes parking, bicycles, etc. there's a nice walking path behind the hotel which is partially shaded and partially in the open. I wish we'd had more time to finish the path and ride a bike but it was a great way to stretch our legs in the morning. Next trip, I will stay here for more days!

Yelp
Great heated swimming pool, open game area with fooz ball, shuffleboard and pool, breakfast buffet with excellent omelette station and cinnamon rolls. They also have free bikes and the bike path along the beach was great (you do have to ride a couple of blocks on the street to get to the bike path) Nice, well-designed new rooms. My mom enjoyed the Lei making and the yoga. Two downsides: The hot tub was not hot when we were there. They said it was a malfunction. And my mom said their pina colada at the outdoor bar was the worst she ever had. They don't use real coconut milk. Just syrup.

Yelp
Was doing a mileage run last minute and looked for an opportunity where I could use my Marriott points ...60k for one night, which means the nightly rate was $600+ . I would not pay that rate for this hotel. At all. While it was a convenient 15 minutes away from the airport, I wish I had perhaps chosen differently. In this hotel, you can hear EVERYTHING. No buffer what so ever, starting at 5am or so I could hear employees cleaning, TVs on, and people in rooms next door having moderately quiet conversation. While the room was clean, fairly updated, and a comfortable bed, it was nothing to write home about. I was placed in a "deluxe ocean view" room, which means a tiny outlet of a lanai/patio that is half blocked and has dirty looking furniture. I was only staying for the night, so while it wasn't super important, I was not impressed. Next, roaches. Yay those tiny lil buggers that get in small crevasses and are fast as heck. Saw a few around the bathroom and TV area. While they are common in tropical spots and I was only on the second floor, they may need to do a better job of mitigating this. It's an older place that seemed to be renovated within the past several years. Pool area was nice, staff were all rather friendly, grounds are OK. It's across from a Longs market and near some restaurants. Onsite restaurants were half open. Bar at the pool had some lighter bites and coffee shop open in the AM was nice. Did not try the breakfast spot. For the one night, it was fine. Not sure I would stay here much longer than that.

Yelp
If you're a Marriott BONVOY loyalist and looking for a Kauai resort in the optimal location, I would recommend this resort. It gives you optimal access to Princeville and Napoli Coast and it's not a bad drive to Poipu Beach and Waimea canyon. The rooms are slightly smaller with tiny balconies compared to Kauai Marriott and it doesn't have the jumbo circular pool. But the bathrooms are a lot more modernized, there's a nicer beach front, and more dining options. Absolutely loved the breakfast. Hands down the best brunch we had on the island. Served 7-11 am. There's also a poolside bar and restaurant that was quite happening. This hotel underwent major renovation of the pool and hot tub about 1 year ago and it's beautiful. The hot tub was perfect when we went out in the pouring rain and had a blast jumping into the pool. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review was our room and corridor must have undergone some flooding or something recently. Smelled like the days when my college housemates would leave a wet sponge out for days. I mentioned to staff and they were very thankful and receptive, even putting out an industrial fan in the hallway. Unfortunately my pillows and mattress also had the smell and it was kind of unpleasant. In all fairness management was very very hospitable and responsive. It just sort of dampened our stay.

Yelp
Food especially pan cake was good . Ambiance and service was also great with seating at the pool and beach makes it extra special
