We had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton Kauai Resort! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm, personal welcome from Sheryl at the front desk, who made us feel truly valued as guests. Her friendliness set the tone for the entire visit.||Throughout our stay, the service was excellent—especially at the on-site dining options. Maynel at the Link Café went above and beyond every morning with attentive, cheerful service that stood out.||The resort itself is in a spectacular oceanfront location, with breathtaking views, very clean rooms, and well-maintained grounds. We had read reviews noting that the property is a bit older, so we came in with slightly lower expectations—but we were pleasantly surprised. Not only did it feel fresh and nicely updated, but we also stayed at a couple of newer resorts during our trip and ended up preferring the Sheraton for its quieter, more relaxed, and personal atmosphere.||One of the biggest highlights was the beach directly in front of the resort. It was ideal for swimming and felt far less crowded than other resort beaches we visited across the island. It quickly became our favorite spot play to relax.||We’re so glad we chose the Sheraton Kauai and look forward to returning in the future!

Stayed here for 5 nights using points in March 2025. We were upgraded to oceanfront and the room was great. Awesome views, nice big deck (you get bigger decks on the first 2 floors). We stayed on the far west side of property where it is much quieter. The beach is great, awesome for swimming and safe for all ages. The restaurant (Lava’s) was quite good and reasonably priced with wonderful views. We were fortunate to have free breakfasts every day with Marriott status, but we also used this for a lunch and a dinner. The only notable drawback we had is that the pool is sooo small and almost pointless. It seemed to be lightly used by guests when we were there. The grounds are nicely kept, a few fire pits to enjoy, nice fitness room with great view etc. ||This property is not as nice as the nearby Marriott Kōloa Landing Autograph Collection (which had a great pool, great restaurant and is an amazing property), but it’s also alot less point than that one. ||We’d definitely consider staying at the Sheraton again.

The location of the Sheraton Kauai Resort is absolutely perfect—right on a stunning stretch of beach with gorgeous sunsets every night. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the overall vibe is very relaxing and peaceful.||That said, the rooms were just average. They could definitely use some updating, especially considering the price point. Food options on the property were okay, but nothing stood out and choices felt limited for a resort of this caliber. Also, the WiFi was frustratingly slow and spotty throughout the property, which made staying connected a bit of a hassle.||If your priority is beach access and beautiful surroundings, it’s a solid choice. Just don’t expect luxury-level amenities across the board.

Absolutely beautiful rooms. Staff is kind the pool and beach are clean and fun. you can rent cabanas which have pool service and TV in the cabana. the whole resort has a relaxed feeling and that is what you want on vacation. my room pictures are from building 1 floor 3 room 14 #1314 this building looks out over the ocean. 1st building on your right coming down Hoonani road to the hotel. Also each day you get two complimentary bottles of water in your room and then a larger one that is a cost of 5 dollars

This hotel is in an excellent location and the free parking is a great bonus! There was always a spot so no difficulties parking even when getting back late. The room was great, it was clean, beds were comfy and was nice and quiet. Pool area is well kept and very relaxing and the bar staff are excellent, you don’t wait more than 5 mins for a drink. Was surprised by the low score on trip advisor as it was a really enjoyable stay!

Google
We’ve stayed at the Sheraton Kauai Resort a few times, and it’s always a great experience. If you’re deciding between room options, I highly recommend choosing an oceanfront view — the scenery is stunning and well worth it over the garden view. The resort offers plenty of activities for families and kids, including snorkeling, surf lessons, outdoor classes, a spacious pool area, and a private beach. It’s a fantastic balance of relaxation and adventure. Dining options are convenient with Lava’s by the pool for casual meals, room service for added convenience, and Rum Fire for an elevated dining experience. For a 4-star resort, the pricing feels reasonable considering the amenities and location. If you’re looking for a memorable stay on Kauai’s south side, Sheraton Kauai Resort is a wonderful choice!

Our five day stay was wonderful. We had a studio with kitchenette and washer/dryer. There was plenty of room and our lanai looked out into a central courtyard. The resort villas are across a not busy street from the Sheraton Kauai Resort and all the amenities are shared. The ocean front complex had plenty of room around the pool, facing the ocean with good bar and food service. On site food service was always tasty and well prepared and room service was quick. The concierge was always helpful and the staff in general were great. The resort was clean and well maintained. I can recommend the Villas and the resort without hesitation.

We had a fantastic stay at the Sheraton Kauai! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Sheryl at the front desk, who was incredibly friendly, personal, and made us feel right at home. That first impression set the tone for the rest of our visit. Service throughout the resort was excellent, especially at the on-site restaurants. A special shout-out to Maynel at the Link Café, who made our mornings brighter with his kind and attentive service. The property is beautiful—amazing ocean views, very clean rooms and well-maintained grounds. While we had read reviews mentioning that the resort is older and came in with slightly lower expectations, that was never a factor for us. In fact, we stayed at newer resorts on the island as well, but we found ourselves liking the Sheraton more for its quieter atmosphere and more personal feel. The resort may be older, but it’s clearly been updated and is very well cared for. A highlight of our stay was the beach directly in front of the resort—perfect for swimming, with plenty of space and noticeably less crowded than beaches at some of the other resorts we visited. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
This place is a gem. I love everything about their property. Their customer service is stellar including Daniel at the concierge. He greeted us with excellence and just warm vibes every time we crossed paths. Our room is amazing and everything is conveniently in walking distance in a split of a second. There was a blackout yestereday for 3 hours and the whole time we felt secure, taken care of and always looked out for. They ensured us with a text that remindedus that we had flashlights in the room if we needed. Before we could even feel a difference we had the lights and power back on. This is a property that I want to be at when I experience any kind of a situation. Our honeymoon has been top notch with all their customer service that they've offered our way.

Yelp
Sheraton Kauai Resort for my 50th birthday...YES PLEASE and THANK YOU! Just returned from this beautiful ocean front Kauai resort, and had the best time! Our room and view: STUNNING! The grounds of the hotel: beautiful! The hotel staff: super nice! This hotel is a true beauty top to bottom. With all of the praise, you're probably wondering why I am not giving this amazing resort 5 stars. Well...first of all, this hotel has 2 sections across the street from each other. The side where you drive up and check in is not the same side as the resort. The side you check in is the villas. They're actually regular rooms, but across the street from the resort. No one tells you this though. You drive up, the valet tells you where to check in. Once inside at check in, the ladies are very nice, but not helpful. For first timers at this resort, tell us which side we are on, and which building as there are a few. Also, the room numbering system is confusing and weird too. Our room 2414 was actually on the 4th floor. Like I said confusing. Our room was located in building 2, 4th floor, room 14. Again, like I said, our room was gorgeous, but it took us 20 minutes to find it. Also, the parking is confusing too. We had complimentary valet because of my Bonvoy status, but where the heck was self parking?! They told us, but we couldn't find it. That's how confusing the room and parking situation is. Although the staff at these two areas are great, it would have been helpful to know how to get to our room and where to park. Overall, we had a great stay at the Sheraton Kauai Resort, and will 100% be back.

Yelp
Our stay here was wonderful. The resort is nice and we would stay here again. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and we had a balcony over looking the pool. Upon check in they spelled, "Aloha" on our bed using sea shell necklaces which we got to keep and a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts. That was a nice touch. The pool was big enough that it wasn't crazily packed and if it was, the beach is within steps from it. The beach was kept clean and was one of our favorite beaches on the island. You can rent a pair of covered lounge chairs for $75 from 8am-5pm. They also have cabanas for rent for more. There is also a hot tub and plenty of chaises. Be sure to reserve yours early by placing your towel or personal item on it. There were ice machines on floors 2-4 but on one of the days the ice machine on the 3rd floor was broken. We didn't have to buy ice for our coolers as we just filled them up from the machines.

Yelp
First time in Kauai, so don't really have anything to compare to. Our family of 4 had a relaxing vacation at the Sheraton. We stayed in a ground floor oceanfront room, with direct access to the ocean lawn area. Gorgeous beachfront property with unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean if you choose to stay in the ocean or beach wing of the property. The lobby is located across the street on the garden side of the property. Pools were nice but needed better cleaning. I saw plastic cups/trash in the pool a few times I went. Pool service was efficient, never had to wait long to order food/drinks from the restaurant Lava's. Daily activities included in the resort fee, only went to the lei making class, which was pretty neat to learn about the process. Each lei is handmade with a needle and thread. Dining: Lava's or RumFire (open Thursday-Sunday only). Ate at both restaurants. Lava's is more casual and serves the pool and room service as well. Food was average at best. RumFire was more fancy, one of our favorite meals we enjoyed on our last night. Parking: complimentary self parking, free valet for elite members. The hotel grounds are well kept, but some of the rooms could use some updating. Overall nice hotel, would stay here again we're in Kauai.

Yelp
We had our 20 year anniversary trip and came back to the Sheraton since we went here on our honeymoon. Great location at the beach. I have to highly compliment one of the manager U'ilani who went above and beyond to fix an issue we had. You can tell that she cares so much for the hotel guests and she went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay. She's a special kind of manager who I wanted to recognize. And thanks Todd and Mark for their help too! They did a great job too!

Yelp
I had a great stay here while TDY! Yeah there are wild chickens and roosters everywhere that guests complain about but isn't that what earplugs are for? You can't beat the staple amenities and the closeness to the ocean. I didn't stay waterfront.my room was a short hold and skip from the waterfront area where you check in and it was fine! Laundry rooms worked well as I was here for a week, and the room had everything I needed. The staff were friendly and the on site bar and restaurant were yes pricey but very good with friendly staff! Thanks Sheraton for making my stay here and my work week in Hawaii very memorable!

Yelp
By far one of the worse hotels I've ever stayed at. What seemed to be a great upgrade ended up being a big nightmare. So first off we entered the premises and the front desk people had only one person working so I waited close to an hour to get helped and when I did get help and supposedly upgraded to my room from having a garden view to a beach view i was given very bad directions to my room. What ended up happening was the elevators to my room was broken so I had to carry every piece of luggage I had up three flights of stairs and go the same way back down when I needed to leave. I brought this to the attention of the front desk and they had no idea about it. Me thinking this was going to just be a day thing ended up being my whole stay here at Sheraton. It not only was a bad experience coming here but also leaving as well. All in all a very poor communication staff and management when it comes from everything about this place. However the bright side of it was that we did have a nice view and the pool was just a few flights of stairs down and a few steps away. I would have hoped for some type of compensation but none was applied. This will probably be my last time coming here after such a horrible experience.

Yelp
Stay away from this place, they charged my credit card for another guest in the same wedding and will not refund it despite the proof that I didn't stay in that room.

Yelp
Location: 5 stars- Lovely beachfront location on the "sunny side" of the island with a nice beach for swimming and animal watching (monk seals and turtles frequent this beach and nearby). There is a walkway that connects many resorts if you are a Walker/runner. Great views for sunset, and walk to neighboring beach for sunrise. Snorkeling at nearby poipu beach park, but I found it just ok (if you've snorkeled on big island or Maui you will be disappointed by comparison). Close to restaurants on koloa and poipu. Room- 4 stars: stayed in an ocean view room and it was clean but the balcony/lanai was absolutely plagued with bugs and we could hardly open the door (no screen) or hang outside. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo but the bathroom was very spacious. Great location for watching sunsets from the room. Service: 5 stars: daily cleaning and turndown service. When we asked for extra towels, etc it came quickly. Concierge, bellman were very friendly. Our check in hostess was ok. Pool: 3 stars: the beach side pool is on the colder side and one small jacuzzi. There is also an "inland" pool that doesn't seem used at all. The worst part is the limited hours 8-8pm. Resort amenities: 4 stars: small gym, daily yoga, some classes that are geared for kids and families (hula, leis, ukele lessons), a giant chess set and connect 4 near the beach, fire pits, corn hole. The room has some higher end shampoo, etc that is not individual size but bottles that are attached to the wall. You get a small set of aloe and sunscreen when you get on property. As a guest you can also rent 2 boogie boards per day for free. Food options: 3 stars- there is a cafe, a fancy restaurant (rumfire, but closed on Mondays), and a more casual spot Lava's that serves breakfast (it was just ok) There is a luau on property a few days a week, didn't go, but you can attempt to rubberneck listen Parking: paid parking in an open lot, not too bad of a walk but depends on where your room is. They also have valet. Note there is also a time share portion of the resort so there is a "mixed" guest crew. This being said when we were there the week of Valentine's Day, it wasn't overly crowded. Concierge will also try to sell you on a deal to listen to a presentation.

Yelp
I had a lovely stay at Sheraton Kauai Resort and would definitely stay here again. Pros: Location. I thought Poipou Beach was amazing, clear warm blue water great for swimming with direct hotel access. This really does seem to be the best beach on the island in my opinion. Our room was also literally steps from the water so this hotel is truly oceanfront with direct beach access. There are lots of cute lounge chairs and rocking chairs by the water to drink your morning coffee or watch the sunset. Room. We stayed in a deluxe oceanfront room, and it was just lovely. Amazing, beautiful view. Wonderful and comfortable beds, nice spacious bathroom. Balcony literally overlooking the ocean. I was in love with our room and definitely worth the splurge. Side note: no screen on balcony, and critters definitely were trying to get in, so we could not leave the door open as much as we would have liked. Wasn't a huge deal though. Could still hear the waves crashing with the door closed! If you're going to stay here, do it right and get one of these rooms. I can see being disappointed otherwise. Ease/comfort. Free daily self parking. Very welcoming staff. Activities desk for pool and beach rentals, which made it super easy to rent equipment for surfing amongst other things. Cute little cafe open early with gift shop that was very practical. Close to airport, ~20 minutes. Few small, cute little towns with shopping centers nearby. Cons: Pretty basic hotel overall. It was nice, but nothing fancy. Lobby is quite nice with plants and waterfalls, but the pool was pretty lackluster. Needs a definite upgrade. Pool is oceanfront which is amazing, but that is about it. We didn't really utilize the pool because of this and spent most of our time at the beach. There is a second pool on the garden side of the hotel that is even more basic and for that reason, very empty. It wouldn't take much to spruce up the pools and make them more "resort like" rather than pools you'd see at a standard apartment complex. The hotel itself is also pretty basic, and looks like it hasn't been upgraded in quite some time. It is well maintained, though! Only one hotel restaraunt. Technically there are two but I never saw Rum Fire open. The other (open) restaraunt, Lava Flow, was decent. Reasonable prices and good service. Right on the water and very convenient. Overall, lovely stay. I do think it is a tad overpriced for what you're getting, but that is just Hawaii. I loved my room, and had a great time. Would stay here again.

Yelp
This is no more than a Motel 6. Don't be fooled by the timeshare solicitation and fly into the middle of the Pacific and be let down by a room that's back to the 80's we deserve better than this. I checked in and out again after seeing the room. How on earth do you think I would ever buy in your poor excuse of a resort. Then you tell me it's so you can use the points at other locations, what does that tell you. We left and paid rack rate at the Westin Princeville a real resort with real amenities and real rooms. Don't ever solicit me again with your photo shopped pictures of a place from yesteryear. Shame on me for not reading the reviews but hopefully someone will benefit from this one and not fly 5hours to be truly disappointed.

Yelp
Sheraton Kauai Resort is located in Poipu, along a beautiful pristine section of the beach. Tan colored sand, extends up from the ocean in one section providing a wonderful area to swim and snorkel. The rightmost section of the beach at the resort has picturesque lava rock on the shore and into the clean blue surf. This area is excellent for capturing sunsets with colorful skies The resort has a beautiful well decorated large lobby. There are two pools available; one is located near the bar and is very popular because of the view and bar service. For a quiet swim, the pool located near the lobby is the place to go. The staff at the hotel are all very professional and friendly. The front desk gave us complimentary chocolate macadamia nuts, and wished us a happy anniversary. Our Oceanfront room was amazing. The view from our room was like an ocean painting. The balcony seats provided a nice secluded place to relax and wind down in the evenings. The room was very clean and spacious. The maid was very nice and she knew our name immediately. Just excellent service! We couldn't be happier with our stay. I would love to stay here again on our next visit.

Yelp
Stayed here a little while back while visiting Kauai. Our room was great. Staff was friendly airflow in the bedrooms could have been better. The grounds are beautiful. Plenty of parking. Great pools. Nice views. Restaurant was great. No complaints here. Would stay there again for sure. Aloha!

Yelp
My family and I just returned from our first visit to Kauai and we are officially in love. It is a gorgeous place, with endless hiking trails, quiet beaches, and little hole-in-the-wall gastronomic gems (I'm looking at you Da Crack). I could go on and on about all that Kauai has to offer, but I want to focus on our hotel and the staff we met. We stayed at the Sheraton in Poipu which provided everything we could have asked for. Our room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and all of the facilities were great too. The location was perfect for us as well, we loved having the shops and Koloa pizza nearby. Noel from the bar, Simona from the concierge desk, Michael, Danilo, and all of the valet guys - they were absolutely awesome. One person in our party had an issue where her wedding ring was lost and Paul from Security impressed us with how he treated the situation so carefully and efficiently. I wish I remembered the names of the people who worked in the coffee shop by the lobby. They were so fast, so nice, and the coffee was spot on. Our party was pretty big - 10 of us in total - and we all felt the same warmth from the staff. If you're considering this property for your stay, do it. I can't see how anyone wouldn't love this place.

Yelp
From the minute I walked out of my taxi I was greeted by the most professional and kindest bellmen: Anthony, Angel, Eric and Danilo. They helped me with my bags to my room allowing me to get situated checking in and meeting the concierge. The concierge ladies were so lovely: Faye and Alyssa. They answered ALL my crazy questions with patience, fun and great tips. I am now on day 3 and I cannot even think about leaving. The warmth of the people and great property and of course heavenly environment makes all my dreams a reality.

Yelp
We had such an amazing stay here!! We came here for our honeymoon, and we'd talked about staying on the garden side of the property, as the ocean side was pretty pricey. My husband ended up surprising me though, and we had a deluxe ocean-facing room!! We were welcomed with a box of mauna loa chocolate covered macadamias, and then proceeded to our room. It really was magical- we had a walk-out to the ocean and had a perfect view of sunset every night we were there. The bed was plush and comfortable, the toiletries are quality and ample, and the service is great. Besides just the room, the beach and the extra activities offered are a lot of fun! We rented a cabana on the beach one day, and it was so nice having a spot to post up. We also signed up for a couple of the activities. The morning yoga on the beach was an awesome way to start the day. The lei making workshop was also fun (mostly geared towards little girls which I did not know lol), and the painting was a really fun way to reflect on our trip! Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay, and we would definitely come back here again!!!

Yelp
We visited the Sheraton Kauai Resort for our 30th wedding anniversary, and unfortunately, were fairly disappointed in the hotel. The rooms are just OK and the hotel is very dated, other than the reception area and open air lobby. They don't ever seem to have enough people at the check in desk, although the person who checked us in on Thursday night was very lovely and friendly. Other times we had to go to the front desk there were long lines as they only had one person working. One person who stood out for us was Michael, one of the bellman. He reminded us af a mature Lou Diamond Phillips, so we called him Lou the entire stay and he was very good-natured about it. He was great about recommending breakfast and lunch places (Pukas, Brennekes, Wood FIre Pizza) and other places of interest (Poipu Beach at sunset to see the seals and turtles!). Lou was definitely the most helpful person we encountered at the Sheraton! We used their concierge to book a number of activities (one almost every day we visited - a total of 8 days), and they did a great job initially, but since the weather was cloudy/rainy many of the days, when we asked them to switch things around, they were not good at following up and communicating with us. I was so frustrated that I asked to speak to the concierge manager, "J" for short, and she basically said that our account was updated with lots of notes and our changes were the reason for the issues. I would not recommend using them, especially if you think you might make any changes to your itinerary. They did book us for an ATV tour (it was rainy and fairly cool that day, but we went anyway), golf at Poipu Bay (our tee time was changed to the correct day, but our friends tee times wasn't changed; luckily I called the resort and figured that out and had it changed myself), ziplining (which had to be cancelled due to the weather issues), a catamaran/scuba 5 hour trip ( Holo Holo charters - Great crew and captain, great views of the Napali coast, but the snorkeling was the worst I've ever done - very few fish, lots of rocks, no color, very disappointing). They also helped us book multiple dinner reservations, which our friend researched and selected, and I would highly recommend Beach House, Keoki's and Tidepools. The restaurants at the Sheraton Kauai were not great, at least the one option open during our stay. Lava's is great for poolside drinks, but their dinner entrees were not good (the chicken kung pao was like eating petrified chunks of burned chicken and the burger comes with a strange tasting sauce). Rumfire was closed our entire visit. The coffee shop was the culinary highlight, and the staff there is wonderful! We visited two other resorts nearby during our stay, and i would recommend considering them if you visit. The Hyatt is BEAUTIFUL, so if your budget can afford it, stay there. The other less expensive option would be the Koloa resort - great spa, beautiful pool and great food! They don't have beach access, and we didn't see a room, but what we did see left us impressed and envious.

Yelp
Blah!! We went in for Thanksgiving dinner they offered, and it was such a bad decision. It was a buffet style dinner. They had some of their food covered in the buffet style containers, but the charcuterie boards there were so many flies on the meats, cheese's, and fresh fruit it was so gross! We were so very dissatisfied. We were robbed for the dinner at $85 per person it was highway robbery!! We had five people in our group the server didn't even ask why we didn't eat just charged the rate. The only pleasant thing that night was the live music they offered with a daughter, and father duo singing & playing music.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with my recent stay at the Sheraton Kauai Resort. The setting is beautiful however the staff and room was lacking. Upon check in during the early evening, there was a plumbing issue in the bathroom. I called the front desk, after 40 minutes of no one answering I went to the front desk. No one was there, I waited and no one came. I went back to my room and continued to call, again no answer. It became later in the evening and I went to the front desk again, after several minutes a front desk employee came. The night shift employee was very rude and she told me to go back to my room and she would send someone. The issue was resolved, by now it is very late. I wanted to have a wake up call and again no answer when pushing the wake up call button, nor did the front desk answer. After an hour of calling both numbers I gave up. I have never not had a front desk answer the phone in all my years of traveling. The vinyl plank flooring in the bathroom and entry was loose and severely warped. Maybe indicating previous plumbing issues. For the money I would select another resort with rooms that have been kept up to date and a friendlier present staff. I would suggest the Poipu area is sunnier and has a much more swimmable beach.

Yelp
5 stars for a reason. Great view from our ocean front balcony. Enjoyed the restaurant on site Rum Fire and the pool side lounge (open early to late). Beach was fantastic and like an aquarium when you snorkel less then 20 yards out. On site shop has everything you need if you want a simple breakfast, sandwiches or spirits. Workout is sufficient too, so you don't get soft. Will be back.

Yelp
If I were to sum up this resort succinctly: it could be so much more. The location is absolutely ideal on my opinion as you can easily access the west and east sides of the island and try to limit your time getting stick on traffic or construction in Kapa'a. If you are a Bonvoy Platinum or higher member, don't expect many benefits. The room: We were upgraded to a Deluxe Oceanfront Queen room on the Ocean Wing with our Suite Night Awards (SNA) and for whatever reason they bypassed our King preference despite rooms being available. Prior to check-in I chatted with a rep and got switched to a King. While the room was great, I'm not sure why they skipped our preference and acted like this was a favor. The bed was comfortable, the view was fantastic and the room was very quiet. The towels were... Not good. The property: Two days before we checked in we were notified that the ocean pool would be closed for our last two days for "emergency" construction. I mean, we are ocean swimmers, but the pool is one of the main reasons to go to a resort. There are no complimentary chair options for Elite guests - it cost $10/beach chair and $18/umbrella PER DAY to use their 3rd party rental company. Small and large cabanas range from $75 to $150. Sure you can sit in pool chairs for free, with little to no view, crammed next to 2 dozen other people. You have to occasionally wear a bracelet, and sometimes you don't. You have to count out each towel and sign them in and out. Really an unwelcoming experience. But the ocean is great. The food: Lava's was really the only option and the only tangible benefit for Elite members was free breakfast. Service ranged from non-existent to great, but we didn't care for any of our meals and the options are limited. We only had lunch here one day and learned our lesson pretty quickly. The cafe was inexplicably closed for lunch, the only time of day we ever wanted to stop in. And Rum Fire remains closed all together. Resort fee: $30 per day. So you're basically paying for your self parking, mediocre WiFi and horrible activities. My wife went to make a lei one morning and all it was was Ti leaves... No flowers whatsoever. I thought it was a joke when she returned. Overall: You'll get your free box of chocolate macadamia nuts, and while this resort has potential, I would never pay a full rate to come here.

Yelp
I was not impressed with this hotel, especially for their prices. From the moment to check in to throughout. The day we arrived, they tried to tell my mom that she didn't have a room booked; which by the way she booked in advance prior to even flying out here. Made her put her card down and told her she had to now wait until 3pm to check in, however the other parties that arrived who were also pre booked, got to check in right away. My brother (the groom) had to come to the lobby area to get them together because the room was booked prior. All of a sudden they changed their tone, had a room available right away and provided a rollout bed which the initially claimed they didn't offer. How interesting that the groom (the one who is spending all this money here for a wedding) they changed their tone for. Very interesting. The lady that helped with checking in came off very rude from the last bit of the conversation that I did see happen. Customer service is everything people, work on that. So that already rubbed me the wrong way when I saw how she treated my mom. Now, if I was there from start to finish, this would've been whole different conversation and that rudeness wouldn't have gotten by. Anyways, the room--NOT IMPRESSED. No shower caps, little q-tips and things that are usually by the sink area, the toilet leaves a lingering urine smell after it flushes, they gave us a stained comforter, which we had to call about. Their solution was to give us a dovet to put over it. Classy. The waitress/waiters at the lava restaurant, seems like they hate their jobs and it shows. Their customer service wasn't the greatest either. The ONLY people that were polite at this hotel were the house keepers. Always said hello in passing, were friendly, and helpful. Give those people a raise. Now the rest of the staff, that's a different story. Retrain them or get someone who actually wants to be nice and welcoming to paying guests. I personally think for something so expensive, there needs to be better. I wouldn't stay here again. Trust me people, pick somewhere else if you plan to come to this island. Even the ocean view doesn't make up for the hotel.

Yelp
By far the worst property Marriott has in Hawaii. I am a Marriott Ambassador member with over 2,500 nights at a Marriott and I would say this property is in the bottom three of all hotels I have stayed in the past 20 years. Service is well below the service I have received from other Marriott properties in Hawaii. Service is slow even by Hawaiian standards. The food at the restaurants was terrible. The garden view rooms look directly at a large drainage pipe. The pool is really small and needs repairs. There is a Hyatt down the beach from this hotel I would highly recommend staying there. We tried to move hotels after the first day but could not since it spring break and everything was booked. If you have status with Marriott, don't worry this property could not care less. I would never stay at this property again even if they offered me a free room.

Yelp
We did not stay at this resort as a hotel, but we did go for the luau. And WOW, what an amazing event. They did such an excellent job with all of the entertainment. Not only the hula dancers and fire chiefs but also you were able to crack open a coconut and get educated about some traditional Hawaiian instruments as before the meal. I was also very impressed by the buffet. They offered a wide variety of foods and catered to dietary needs as well. I am both gluten free and dairy free so I was delighted to find that everything at the buffet had cards explaining allergens in each item. Also unlimited mai ties! It was truly a must see experience if you're visiting Kawai, and have yet to attend a real luau. The only recommendation I would have is signage when it first came to getting to the event. They were separate lines for VIP ticket holders and general ticket holders. But the lines weren't clearly marked so it's a little bit confusing upon first getting in. However, compared to the experience as a whole, it was a very minor thing, and we quickly forgot about it as the night went on!

Yelp
For the price or this place it was just average. We got a 2 bedroom. One room had no window or balcony: so weird. I didn't love that only one pool had bar service/ Also the pool closes at 8. Concierge was never at the desk... the grounds are very pretty. Great sunsets. The rooms were clean. The bed was comfy the pillows were god awful. Beyond god awful. Equivalent to sleeping on paper. The pool restaurant was just average 2 stars at max. This was our first time staying at a Sheraton guess we just expected more for hawaii.

Yelp
Fantastic visit in February 2022. We stayed with two adults and three children in an ocean view room and got to see whales every morning right outside on our balcony. My only issue with our stay was that I confirmed three times prior to our visit that we would be able to have a rollaway bed in our room. Upon arrival we were told that it was not possible due to the room size. There was no couch in our room, so the staff accommodated with lots of extra fluffy blankets, and we made a bed on the floor for my seven year old. I definitely recommend renting a cabana for the day at the pool! The activities desk staff knew all of my children's names on day two, which just goes along with the friendly personalities of all of the locals a treat you like family. We watched the luau from the pool area and my older kids took surfing lessons, which was a highlight of their trip. We are going back October 2023!

Yelp
So wonderful staying here. Housekeeping (Estrella) service was Great!! Kept the room clean and fresh every day. Food delicious. The pool is great. We had great time, great service from poolside people. View is great. Will certainly go back for a 3rd time to celebrate our Anniversary again. Thanks The Owens Family (RM 1318) Oct 2023

Yelp
Really love the location of this place and service has been excellent! I ate at their 2 restaurants and the food was really good. I had a total beach view and felt so comfortable and serene the whole time I was here! They offer yoga every morning and some other activities. The pool is lovely and o even got to see whales while lounging outside!

Yelp
We stayed here for 2 nights while we were on the south side of the island and wish we could've stayed longer. Very nice and luxurious! We were in an oceanfront room and it was so nice to hear and see the waves. Comfortable beds and pillows. The pool area was small, but nice. There are 2 pools. There was also a nice size beach and beach cabins on the sand looking out at the ocean. We'll have to rent one of those next time! You rent them for the day and can come and go as you please. Next time, I also want to check out some of the other things they offer - morning yoga, hula, ukulele, etc. Seems like a great way to unwind and learn something new. All the staff were nice and friendly. Antonio (concierge) was super helpful. We were looking for a wind chime to bring home and he was able to do some research and suggested we go to the National Botanical Garden. He went above and beyond! We were able to pick one up the next day and the shopkeeper mentioned that someone was inquiring about wind chimes and we responded "that was our concierge!" The resort also offers courtesy rooms! Our flight was not until 10PM, but we were still able to take advantage of our last day. We went on a hike and were able to use the room for 30 min to shower before we got onto our flight. It was unexpected and such a nice thing to offer. Much appreciated! I would definitely stay at Sheraton Kauai again and recommend to others!

Yelp
Very comfortable hotel rooms that open onto pool or garden views. You can pay for ocean view rooms, or just stroll out and sit along the beach to see some pretty special sunsets. There's lots of activities, or just time to float in the pool if you're exploring the island. While the in room dining is pretty steep, there are easily walkable great restaurants in the two neighboring shopping centers. Great location to be a short drive from most activities you'd want to do. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Your thoughts are only about making money. My partner and I were suppose to come to The Sheraton Vacation Club next week and then head to Maui. We felt because of the devastation in Maui and the strain it will put on all of Hawaii that we should postpone our trip. Your company would not let us do this. You told us that if we did not come next week we would lose all our money. Shame on you. We understand that the other islands still need to make money, we did not ask for our money back, just to postpone our trip to give Hawaii time to heal and not take necessary resources away from people who may need it. Keep the money....you company should be ashamed of it's self. I will never visit your resort and tell as many people I possibly can to stay away from any Sheraton on Hawaii....really anywhere.

Yelp
.....and we did return! One year later, and we loved every minute. We got to explore more of Kauai and spent time, once again, enjoying the oceanfront loungers with chair service (bring on the Mai Tai's!). This time, we got to enjoy Rum Fire -- on two occasions at sunset and as walk-ins at the bar, where Benje and the crew took extra great care of us! Not sure if Kauai will be an annual trip for us, but on our next visit we would ask that attention be paid to our room location request (we booked very early in the year but ended up in a room with a bit more noise than we can manage). Finally, a request: please return to the individual toiletries in the room. We didn't care for the Costco-sized shared bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. Please. Pretty please.

Yelp
$450 per night for a kitchenette view of the lawn, pretty pricey. The bad news is check-in is at 5 PM checkouts at 10 in the morning. What "hotel "has a 10 AM check out. Very disappointing, no break for kamaāina or kapunas even. Room was immaculate and well equipped, but not worth the price. Guessing anything w just a partial Oceanview gotta be $700 a night at least

Yelp
We stayed for our honeymoon and bartenders Noel and Benji made our stay memorable. They provided excellent service and made sure we were always cared for. They truly care about providing exceptional customer service and will be the reason we return to the Sheraton Kauai Resort again in the future.o

Yelp
Beautiful resort with well kept rooms and landscaping. I've been Ambassador status at Marriott for years. This has been hands down the best I've ever been treated. Super friendly staff, great food and drinks, love the room, the view. We are definitely coming back with the whole family soon.

Yelp
$10 a day to request and use a microwave in a deluxe suite for a long stay??? Really??? I get better amenities at Best Western. Room prices expensive enough without being so greedy about microwave use.

Yelp
We just spent a week at this resort. FYI we were in the villa portion not the hotel part. We loved it, it was quiet, clean and recently remodelled. We had a 2 bedroom villa that was plenty roomy for four of us. We used the Lava restaurant numerous times and all food was very good. We also went to the RumFire restaurant for a special evening. The food and service was exceptional. Spendy, but not out of line for what we got. The main pool area was fun, pop up a flag and service came quickly, fun! There is also a pool in the villa area which is nice if you want a quiet area. The main beach (Poipu) is one of the highest rated beaches in the world. You'll see why. We have been to the Westin Princeville previously and liked the Sheraton better mostly because of the beach. There are many places to eat in the area, some within walking distance. Do your research and make reservations, you'll be glad you did.

Yelp
This resort was great. Its situated in a very very desirable location on the sunny side of Kauai right on the Poipu beach. Lots of attractions nearby. Lots of amenities inside the resort itself. The parking lot overlooks the beach. The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. They have a couple of restaurants on site as well as a coffee shop. The Lava's restaurant is on the beach and has great views. The food is OK, not great, but its the view you're paying for. There are two pools, one is on the beach and is more crowded. The other one is on the villas side, and is a bit more calmer. Pro Tip: If you don't want to pay the incredibly cost of the seaside Luau, you can miss the dinner and still get to see the show from the pool area. We hung out and had an incredible time. The fee that you pay for the Luau is more for the food and unlimited alcohol. Definitely worth it if that's your jam.

Yelp
Been coming for years. I would have given 5 stars but the service seems to have changed over the years. I figure this year was due to the large amount of people coming to the island. The staff are nice and always willing to help. Don't get me wrong here... I always book my hotel here and only here. The hotel is on the south side of the island and it's the perfect spot! The also have a great luau with a great performance by the beach. It's something to definitely experience. I will come again and again.

Yelp
We stayed here in early November on our honeymoon and really enjoyed our time at the Sheraton! Our oceanview room was gorgeous. The views down the walkway for sunset were unbeatable, and it was nice being so close to the ocean with a beautiful beach with good swimming. The pool is really nice, but closes so early at 8 PM. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The room did have a really annoying and abnormal fan noise that we requested service for and was never fixed. Otherwise everything was great!

Yelp
Recently stayed at this property and was thoroughly impressed with the accommodations and friendly service. As soon as we checked in, we were welcomed with friendly smiles and superior customer service. The staff were attentive and responsive to our questions and needs. The food served at this property never disappointed. My children can be picky at times with their food selections, but this resort met with flying colors. The Uncle's Burger at Lava's was on my 16 year old's daily request.

Yelp
Beautiful resort, had an amazing time with my fiancé :) the only criticism I have is that the mattress pad was a little uncomfortable. It's not fitted, so it constantly comes untucked and bunches up.

Yelp
Had a very enjoyable stay. Booked a Deluxe Ocean View Room and requested we not look over the pool. Not guaranteed but came through on a Ocean Wing room second floor which gave us sunsets, whale watching, and dolphins! Very walkable grounds that connects up to many places to eat and shop nearby. They have a shuttle service that runs 5pm-9pm if needed. Elite members earn points or free continental breakfast. Complimentary valet service as well. We opted for breakfast and a $6 upgrade per person gives you anything on the breakfast menu. Pool area was smaller but worked well. We wish there had been a microwave, would have been nice for warming up coffee, leftovers. Of the three islands we visited we enjoyed this location the most. 5 star location for sure

Yelp
I have never been so appalled by handling from a "hospitality company". The desk was fine, the bell hop great, cabana boys were wonderful, even the house keepers were good... EVERYTHING else... Just issue after issue. We went for apps and drinks at Lava's on Poipu Beach. Everything was fine, until shift change. Our new waitress informed us she was pulling a double and finishing with the cabanas. Ok no worries. Well after half an hour she never came back. The sun was glaring in on my 6 month old. We ask the host desk to move to more shade. This was an epic failure apparently. From then on we were completely ignored. No one checked on us for 25 minutes. We asked the waitress in our area if we can at least have some menus. She said I don't know who sat you but you're not my responsibility. She excelerated her attitude, didn't want to serve us. After some back and forth, she finally agreed to bring Menus. At this point I just didn't want my food compromised. I opted to leave. On the way out I stopped at the hostess desk to speak with the manager to provide the feedback... Well epic failure #2... the hostess called the manager and he did not even have the decency or courtesy of meeting me face to face. I relayed the experience that we had just suffered through and in his immediate response was to try and explain away all of their actions... No accountability. No empathy, JUST EXCUSES. I asked him again if you would please walk over from RumFire... Mere feet away... to handle the situation professionally. He declined he "didn't have time". Wow just wow. This was already so many red flags and I should have known better. We went to our presentation for the vacation club the next day. I expressed my concerns with the staff there and they at least responded with an apology. But there again, no accountability no gestures to try and make the situation right. No feedback was given to the employees. No names were taken. No action. Nothing but a hollow "sorry". Now Buy. Well the situation gets worse we did buy into their vacation club (I know... I know) and of course, that was the worst decision I've made in my adult life. We were made several promises among them was the availability to pay the purchase price off within 60 Days. This was to give us time to securing our own financing (theirs was exorbitant). I shopped around and then decided to use a promotional credit card with zero interest. This preparation took about 2 weeks. I then to logged into their website in order to make the payment. I quickly found that I could not pay over the standard payment amount... Why??! I had to call them to pay any amount other than the minimum. Why so difficult? So I made several phone calls and each time I was met with off hours, some type of hold response, a disconnect, and simply unable to reach them. Between the time of purchase and my 30-day mark we had two holidays as well, mind you. I was finally able to reach them the day after a holiday (4th of July) to make the payment in full. It was at that point that I was advised that I would not be able to do it a payment for the full amount and I had missed my 30-day opportunity. BY ONE DAY! Please read up where I was PROMISED 60 DAYS, so this 30 days was news to me. The whole complication with not being able to make a credit card payment was news to me. They purposefully overcomplicated the situation to force you into their interest rate... I explained the situation to the person on the line, given this was ONE day over 30 days (with holiday impacts) could they make an exception. She declined. She talked over me, she was rude, she was unhelpful and unempathetic. All she wanted to do was direct me to my contract. When I explained to her that I was given 60 days and she is incorrect, she again just yelled at me to look at the contract. She over talked and forced it at me at least four different times in a 6 minute conversation. I then asked for a manager. I was declined from even being transferred to a supervisor. I was committed to a follow-up within 24 hours which never came. I was at a loss. I couldn't believe. I contacted the office where we made the purchase as a last hope. That just spiraled even further. I worked with James who was completely incompetent. He committed to me that he would do regular follow-ups, they never occurred. I had to chase him almost daily and weekly in order to get updates. All the while being promised it was being handled and he'll help with making the full payment. After 3 months I just wanted to cancel!!! He promised then... It's being canceled. It was being canceled. it was being canceled... Please be patient. Please wait, he was getting the approvals. I regularly requested contact details for corporate office, on at least a dozen occasions, and it never came. I reached out to the office again for any support and again was met with superficial promises and commitments that went no where. No one was able to help.

Yelp
Location of this hotel is lovely. We were woken up every morning around 6am by the people staying upstairs, and weren't able to be moved to a top floor room. Noises from feet walking around, shower running, chair legs dragging around, etc. This really is dreadful every morning while on vacation. Keep this in mind if you're at all sensitive to noise, the walls and floors are very thin.

Yelp
Lovely experience! My group has so much fun! We are hooked with Sheraton in every parts of the world ; whenever There is Sheraton hotel that's our no.1 go to and never will mind and believe the negative reviews of other people as we know for ages. You do you I do me.

Audra C.

Yelp
My initial impression was negative when we purchased a package through Costco for an ocean front deluxe KING bed room and the girl at the desk repeated this reservation but told us she couldn't guarantee a king bed and that we would have to deal with two queen beds for our honeymoon. She then gave us a package of chocolate covered macadamia nuts "for our inconvenience" ... we paid for that with our Costco package.... The pool was packed. Our room also had ants in it. The air conditioner in the room sounded like a jet taking off every time it went to cool the room which was very hard to sleep with. I will say other that - Lavas (the restaurant there) was very good. We did order room service which also was timely and delicious. The view of the ocean is spectacular. And the view from the balcony was great - if only it were with the correct size bed... The beach was also quite nice. I recommend this beach and the environment, just perhaps maybe not this hotel as they are not extremely customer service friendly.

Yelp
Just to provide an update - I contacted the customer service number as requested by Sheraton in response to my review. After being on hold and transferred, I finally spoke with someone. I spent a good amount of time explaining the situation and the story. The representative was kind and seemed sympathetic and surprised to hear what happened. However, after all of that she then indicated that she doesn't even work for the hotel side of the resort but works for the villa side so there is nothing she can do. She said my information was passed along to the correct department and they would contact me. Its been almost a couple of months and no one has contacted me. So don't believe the lip service they provide in response to the negative reviews. It is only to try and save face, not to make right their failure.

Yelp
This was a great hotel. I will preface my review by saying we booked this spot using points and upon arriving were upgraded to an amazing suite. Suite is totally recommended if there's any way you can swing it - it was a beautiful room, amazing views of the ocean and so close to the water that it felt as though you were on a cruise ship - when you looked out the window all you saw was blue water and blue sky. Big balcony spanned the entire length of the room and had doors out from both the living room and bedroom. Huge living room space with a big table for 6, large bedroom, and the bathroom was amazing - tub, shower with 2 showerheads, 2 sinks, separate room for toilet. Onto the more general review. Room was very clean and well-stocked and the finishes felt upscale. The resort itself was really nice, especially the grounds - loved all the tropical plants and flowers, and little ponds. Lobbies were really nice. Lots of chairs set out for relaxing on the lawn and I loved the firepits with circles of chairs around them. Service was great - most of the staff we interacted with were super friendly and helpful. The pool never seemed to get that busy, always chairs available (although maybe not in the shade). The beach near the resort was nice and sandy, and the waves weren't too bad. The low point of the stay was breakfast at Lava's - very slow service and they seemed to be understaffed. On our second morning I asked multiple times for a glass of water and after not getting any I finally went to get my own water bottle and drank out of that at the table. Not ideal! We had the continental breakfast which was very basic (I had bagel and pineapple slices, with juice and coffee) but serviceable. I'd love to come back here some day!

Yelp
The grounds were gorgeous! We checked in with a very nice lady by the name of Ciara. She had such a very kind smile and demeanor. She was very efficient and pleasant at check-in and even followed up after we got settled in our room. Bonus points for having a room looking out at the sunset. Will definitely be back!!
