The staff are absolutely lovely. Everyone was so friendly to us and we were so impressed with the Fijian hospitality. We had an amazing experience on our Jetski tour with Dels and found the cleaning staff to be attentive. Our lack of satisfaction has to do with Sheraton management and logistics. We booked an ocean front room with a plunge pool which would have been nice except for a desalinization pump that runs 24/7 and emits a screeching sound. We measured the decibels of the sound with a decibel meter...it was 73, where as standard ambient noise levels should be at 30. It was so loud that it completely overcame the sound of the waves, and made sleeping difficult. We also had problems with our pool each day. The water kept draining out. The engineering staff's solution to the problem was to shut off the circulation pump, which just caused stagnant water that attracted bugs. Lastly, initially there were hammocks outside of our room which was lovely, but we only had the chance to enjoy them once as they were removed on the second day of our trip for no apparent reason. The beach in front of our room was also quite smelly with the amount of seaweed that washes up. I understand this is due to the position of our room at the end of the cove, but when you add up all of the issues with our room location, it was quite disappointing. It is especially disappointing as we paid a significant amount of money to upgrade to the oceanfront room, and it seemed to be more of a downgrade. If you are traveling as a couple, you'll want to take note that it is a very family friendly hotel, so if you are looking for a quiet relaxing time at the pool and the beach, or during dinner, this is not the resort for you.
