Really enjoy my staying in this hotel! Had access to the Sheraton club and it was a great experience . The food was very good. Service can improve . Called the guest services many times and never have an answer. The gym is very good and the steak room is great. They can have more gluten free options

This hotel in San José, Costa Rica, offers excellent value for money! Located slightly outside the city center, it’s in a peaceful area, making it perfect for a quiet stay. The hotel is about 20-25 minutes from the airport, which makes it especially convenient for an overnight stay after a long-haul flight. The on-site restaurant is a great feature, offering a pleasant atmosphere and good food. There’s also a casino next door if you’re in the mood for some fun. Breakfast was included in our stay, and since the hotel wasn’t very full, it never felt crowded or hectic. Overall, I can definitely recommend this hotel for travelers looking for a comfortable and relaxing stop in San José.

Excellent hotel! Highly recommend. We love that there’s a clear commitment to sustainability, recycling and no single-use plastic. Also, the breakfast buffet is EXCELLENT and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed meeting Randall, who greeted us warmly in the lobby every day!

VERY low quality for a Sheraton. Location leaves a lot to be desired (it's right beside the highway) with nothing in sight. The rooms have a strange smell in the washroom/showers. Some combination of poor plumbing and ventilation. The amenities are pretty bad. Pool is tiny and gross, gym is small and stuffy. Club Lounge is fairly limited and the happy hour drinks are pretty run of the mill. The only saving grace is breakfast and service is quite good. I'd suggest the Marriott Hacienda Belen or any other Marriott property in Escazu for a much better experience at a comparable price.

Had a great time. The breakfast and restaurant down stairs has great food. The staff is very friendly. The room is very spacious and clean. Front staff were all amazing and Luis Diego was very kind in helping us out! I'd recommend this place and would stay here again.

An Amazing Stay at Sheraton San Jose, Costa Rica! My husband and I recently stayed at the Sheraton San Jose in Costa Rica, and we were thoroughly impressed by the experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service, especially from Diego at the reception. He was incredibly helpful, ensuring our check-in was smooth and offering excellent recommendations during our stay. His friendly demeanor made us feel truly welcome. Our room was fantastic—spacious, modern, and impeccably clean. The comfortable bed and thoughtful amenities made it a wonderful retreat. We also appreciated the peaceful atmosphere. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast buffet. The variety was outstanding, with fresh fruits, local specialties, delicious pastries, and made-to-order options that catered to every taste. Everything was beautifully presented, and the quality was top-notch. Another great feature of the hotel is its convenient location. There’s a large shopping center within walking distance, which made it easy for us to do a bit of shopping and enjoy additional dining options nearby. Overall, our stay at the Sheraton San Jose was exceptional. Diego and the rest of the team went above and beyond to make it memorable. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Costa Rica—it’s the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and outstanding hospitality.

This is a really nice hotel. Superb staff, excellent restaurants and bar, decent gym, indoor parking, and the 7th floor premium service is amazing. Try the tuna tartar in lobby bar/restaurant - fantastic. Sushi is really good too. The dinner and breakfast fare on 7th floor are amazing with excellent staff. Breakfast options are healthy, diverse and really fresh, really enjoyed that, and the beautiful views.

I suggest you stay down the street at the brand new HYATT CENTRIC hotel (<5 minutes away). After a week at the Sheraton, I checked out due to their unresponsiveness, and instead checked into the Hyatt. The Hyatt had their soft opening in November 2024 and are super attentive. The Hyatt's WiFi worked great, and they have all the other amenities that the Sheraton offers. ... I probably will NOT stay at this Sheraton again. We stayed for a week at the Sheraton. Nice hotel. Nice rooms, good location, free parking with security guard watching the cars, excellent buffet breakfast, good customer service for most staff. However, the WiFi was horrible This significantly negatively impacted my ability to work on my laptop and Zoom calls. The WiFi kept dropping hundreds of times. I wasted hours; I could not get my work done. I notified the Front Desk about this multiple times. They were apologetic. They paged I.T. and told the GM. Nothing changed. After I checked out, the Quality Assurance Manager contacted me by text (her initials are M.R.) and she offered to give me 1000 Marriott Bonvoy points. I asked for the General Manager to contact me twice, but the GM never did. I don't need 1000 points on my account. I need a functional Internet for work. If they cannot provide that, they should partially refund me IMO as that was one of the basic needs I had staying at this hotel. Even if I had received a refund though, that cannot compensate me for the work time lost due to their dysfunctional WiFi. ... If you don't need WiFi, then this is a very good hotel in a good area of town and I think you'll be pleased. If you need Internet (and a GM that deals with such issues in a timely manner) then this might not be the place for you.
