My wife, daughter and I enjoyed are stay the the Sheraton while visiting Universal Studios. They staff is super friendly and the service is great. Great location from the them park. The hotel provides a shuttle bus that starts picking up at 7 am to take you Universal Studios if you do not feel like walking. The hotel has valet service. I highly recommend staying at the Sheraton if you are visiting Universal Studios. I am definitely going to stay here again. I provide some photos of the room and view from room and from city walk.

Loved it m, last year we stayed in Hollywood never again, but this place was absolutely amazing. The location was perfect to CityWalk to access restaurants and food. I did a great 5K run one morning around the village and it felt very safe. The pool was small but adequate. The staff are so friendly including Angel on the front desk who helped me immensely. Would highly recommend and will visit again.

Great location and free shuttles to universal. Friendly staff, very personable. Rooms are a little tight for comparable suites. The layout creates a significant whirlwind of air around the pool, even with the slightest breeze, odd, but should be fixable. Convenient parking by self park or concierge. Some very nice creative drink mixes. I guess the best part is how helpful and friendly the staff are.

The hotel was beautiful. Staff was very accommodating. We arrived from out of state very early, and they gave us access to the Bonvoy members lounge until our room was ready, Our room was large and had an excellent view. Only thing I wished was had were actually dressers to put our clothes in. We were there 3 nights. Location was excellent. Shuttle to Universal was a great plus. Members lounge offered excellent free beverages, appetizers in the evenings, and hot breakfasts in the mornings. Lounge staff were always pleasant and helpful. Parking was a little expensive but easy to get in and out.

Google
I highly recommend this hotel!! We have visited Orlando Disney World and Universal Studio in the past but this hotel is by far better than any of those. From the amazing level of service at check in with Jerry, to Mary in in-room service who went above and beyond to accommodate us to the amazing servers in the California Kitchen. This hotel stay was top notch!! Don’t get me started on their food options. Just superb!! Thank You for making our trip into life long beautiful memories and experiences of kindness and great service!!

Google
What a convenient hotel for universal studios! Easy walk and quick shuttle. The rooms are small but not really important for this trip. Excellent staff with a big shout out to Jerry who really helped us out of a jam with parking our vehicles. Mustafa was also very kind and helpful with our parking. Thanks Jerry for making our stay so much better than we thought it would be!

Got a room for the night so I wouldn't be wiped about driving tired after a night event at Universal. Prime location and they offer frequent shuttles to Universal, until an hour after the end of the event, so very reassuring about not needing to find a way back in the early morning. The room is very nice. I got a terrace room close to the pool. The pillows are very nice, squishy, and a little high but not too high. The bedding is nice, not super soft, but definitely not scratchy. It would be very comfortable to stay here for multiple nights. My room had a tub, which is a nice luxury I wasn't expecting. The only downside is that I'm not very fond of the cleaner they use for the room. There was a slight chemical scent when I first entered, but it dissipated fairly quickly. I left for a dinner reservation, and when I returned about an hour later, it was gone. Check-in was very easy. The person who helped me was very friendly and accommodating, helping me with any questions I had. In regards to parking, there's self parking and then there's valet parking. In case of self parking, you can get in and out with your key card.

Our stay at the Sheraton Universal Hotel was absolutely outstanding. From the moment I arrived, the level of customer service was above and beyond — warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. Every staff member I interacted with, from the front desk to housekeeping, was friendly, helpful, and clearly committed to making each guest feel valued. The hotel’s Art Deco Hollywood-inspired decor is simply beautiful. It perfectly blends classic glamour with modern comfort. The elegant design touches throughout the lobby, hallways, and rooms make you feel like you’re experiencing a piece of old Hollywood in the best way possible. Having stayed at the Hilton nearby, I can confidently say the Sheraton Universal is superior in every way — from the atmosphere to the service to the overall guest experience. The Sheraton feels more polished, more inviting, and just more enjoyable all around. The location is fantastic if you're visiting Universal Studios or exploring the Hollywood area, but the real highlight is the experience itself. I left feeling relaxed, well cared for, and already looking forward to my next stay. Highly recommended!

Yelp
The location was a key factor in choosing this hotel. Although there is room for improvement in the facilities's upkeep for the rooms. That there was no patching of a wall behind the couch where a power panel was removed was one. Overall though, the room was clean and comfortable for our family. The pool area in particular was excellent. The staff offered pool noodles for the kids and Jennifer and the rest of the staff at the pool bar were excellent in their attention to us. Jennifer was on point in recommending food for the kids and drinks for the parents. She was our stand out staff member. We'd also like to recognize the staff of the California. The food was always good and the staff professional.

Yelp
This hotel is very old. The lobby and restaurant looks super nice but the rooms, elevator and going to gym looks old, even the smell. Room is really small, specially if you get two bed it's really tight. Our room is across from the elevator so you can hear people chatting and the bell from the elevator. Going to gym at night is scary if you're coming from the restaurant; because you have to go out from the back of the restaurant and past the swimming pool area. But the gym is nice they have towels and water. The nice thing about this hotel it's really close to universal studio. It's about 10-13mins walk. They also have shuttle that's comes every 15mins. The front desk are super nice. They have 3 elevators and they work fast which is really nice. It tends to be pack morning and late afternoon because a lot of people are going early to universal and coming back from universal in late afternoon. Parking is indoor and they have Tesla chargers too

Yelp
I spend $500 plus for 2 nights, 2 queen bed in a small, outdated cramp room is robbery. Outside of the building looks so nice and grand so I expect the rooms will be the same. Jokes on me. Plus $42 for "self parking" per night, not even valet is ridiculous. Every 5-10 minutes you will hear a loud bang on other guest room doors closing. Waking up to a leave blower at 9AM is crazy to me. Supposedly a $150 hold on my credit card turn to hundred of dollars still pending and good luck getting a hold of their account department Never again! Recommend the Hilton Hotel next door to them

Yelp
TL;DR Pros: The hotel staff was pretty friendly and accommodating for the room change. Cons: The rooms were pretty worn down (i.e. lights not working and toilet issue etc) and can be noisy (i.e. room facing the freeway and staying during the summertime). Review We stayed for 3 nights at the Sheraton Hotel because we wanted to be closer to universal studio's. When we went to our room on the first night, the room was on the 2nd floor facing the freeway. We can hear the cars and motorcycles zooming by during the middle of the night. Also, the walls and floors were pretty thin, and we could hear upstairs stomping. Also, some of the lights weren't working, and the remote for the TV wasn't working (we couldn't lower the volume and the buttons for moving through channels had a delay). We asked the front desk if we could switch rooms and a higher floor if possible. They said they would try their best and they were able to find us a different room. Our next room was on the 7th floor and the room was facing the pool instead of the freeway, so the noise level improved. However we could still hear upstairs stomping again, but we didn't want to change rooms again since our stay was short. The lights and the TV remote worked. Unfortunately, our toilet made a hissing sound, but we temporarily fixed it ourselves.

Yelp
A friend of mine and I brought our sons for a weekend trip to Universal Studios for the weekend and we had a great time. I immediately loved the decor from the time I walked through the hotel and to the room. The room was adorable, it was small but we didn't spend much time there. Everything was clean and well placed. The bed was comfortable and we had a very nice view of the mountains. The restaurant downstairs was very convenient and the breakfast buffet was incredible. What I truly appreciated was after we checked out, we were heading to City Walk and I got a notification that I left my iPad behind. I thought it was in my backpack. I called the hotel and they notified security who went into our room to look for it. They called to let me know they found it and to go to the front desk immediately upon our return. When we got back security came down with my iPad. They handled the matter immediately and professionally. I did have two complaints. They really need to do something about their elevators. When we arrived the middle one wasn't working so it was a long wait. On Sunday during checkout time it was also a very long wait because there were only three elevators and everyone seemed to be using them at once. My second issue was that one of the men from the bell desk was extremely rude when we were checking out. We asked for them to hold our bags prior to leaving for the airport and he was snappy and impatient. Other than these two issues, everything else was just incredible!

Yelp
Type of Travel: business Length of Stay: 1 night Room: upgraded to junior suite, king bed Pros: + Walk-in shower Cons: - Toilet paper location was hard to reach Met all my criteria. Clean, modern, spacious. Room was def a little worn in though. Maybe from all the kiddos that come through here. Would stay here again.

Yelp
I checked in at 10:30 p.m. to a dirty room. There was some dirty paper in the toilet, a Q-tip in the waste bin, and toilet paper on the floor. There was also a flower petal on the floor by the bed. I called the front desk and they sent two housekeeping employees to service the room, and even they were surprised. So they cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed, and changed the sheets. All taken care of, but made me question the overall cleanliness of the whole hotel. There is a shuttle bus that will take you to Universal Studios. Very convenient location, especially if you have little kids. There is a restaurant called the Californian and they serve a really nice breakfast buffet. There was cinnamon french toast, eggs with spinach and mushrooms, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, fresh fruit, cottage cheese, bagels and and pastries. All of the food was really good, and a great way to start your day before heading to the park. The parking garage is $42 per night, ouch! Make sure to keep a key during check-out, or you can't exit the garage! They didn't tell us that and we were stuck waiting there, backing up traffic for about ten minutes! We had an o.k. stay here.

Yelp
We stayed in room 804 which overlooked part of the park (minions!). Checking in was simple and easy. Parking garage is just a short walk away from the main building. We picked this hotel because of the proximity to Universal Studios. You could either walk to the park, or take the shuttle. I wanted to take the shuttle the first day, but I'm not sure what happened, but we just missed the first shuttle, and the second shuttle never made a stop at our hotel, at that point, we decided to just walk. It's a fairly short walk too, we just take the elevator in front of the parking garage up to the Hilton, go around it, and then over the sky bridge. If you have a stroller, you could go across the street and go up the ramp there. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but it could definitely use some touching up. Parts of the room shows its age, but nothing glaringly alarming, and you're not in the room all that often anyways. The fitness center is a bit of a walk away from everything else. From where we were, we had to take the elevator all the way down to first, and then go all the way around to the corner on the other end. We also had access to the lounge. It wasn't anything amazing, the selection wasn't huge but it did the job of keeping us fed and ready for a day at the park.

Yelp
Stayed for one night on 2/27-2/28 I forgot the man that assisted that but it was before 12 noon. He was kind and efficient at check in, grateful to have been checked in. Beds are comfy, plenty of space for luggage. Shower pressure is amazing. Shuttle to and from the park are helpful, it does run every 15 minutes just make sure to verify with the front desk. Self parking fee are quite high but it is a big building and pretty secure. We came back from the park after it closed and went to the lounge since we have access as bonvoy members, let me tell you the lounge at this hotel is one of the best ones, great variety, clean space. The staff in the lounge in the afternoon Matthew, Sandra and Helen were great. They were quick to restock and clean up, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast staff Albino, Maria and Angie was also great! Good way to start the morning is to see smiling and friendly people. Great service overall. Will definitely come back when we visit the park.

Yelp
I ate at the California restaurant in the hotel. They brought me back someone else's credit card. It was different colors, a different bank, different name on the card. I asked for my card back. When they found it they tried to lie and say it's the card they originally brought. I know my own card, I know my damn name! This is a serious issue. Don't give me the wrong card, give someone else my card, the lie about it. It was an understandable mistake, both cards had the same last 4 numbers. A ssimple apology instead of lying and arguing with me would have been the appropriate response.

Yelp
Very close to Universal. They also have a shuttle that is free. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly.

Yelp
Great place to stay. Within walking distance to Universal Studios and minutes away from downtown Hollywood. It could use updating but still nice. Hence the 4 stars. The lobby and bar area was very inviting. You can order food and drinks there. Registration desk does get busy after 4p but their service was top notch. There is a shuttle that comes by every 20 min that will drop you off at the Universal studio walk but close enough to the entrance of Universal Studios. If you don't want to wait you can just walk. Takes about 10-15 min. You do have to walk a slight hill but then once you cross the street at the light you end up right in front of the Universal Studios fountain. We chose the Sheraton because it was a bit cheaper than the Hilton.

Yelp
We have been incredibly dissatisfied with our stay at the Sheraton Universal. When we booked our concierge room, we expected a premium experience, and our experience to date has been anything but. - While we were offered no help with bags upon arrival, at check-in we were met with enthusiasm and a seeming commitment to our ongoing satisfaction, however within minutes of entering our room and encountering issues, we realized that what we were offered at check-in was merely platitudes - issues were not addressed and we were quickly ghosted. Never to receive any brand of follow-up. - The lighting in our room is dim - almost eerily so. Worse, the lighting choices immediately began triggering migraine activity for my husband. When we requested a lamp to help with the untenable situation, we were initially led to believe this was a possibility. Then ghosted. We actually had to pay a third party to have our own lighting brought into the space. - The room layout is unpractical and uncomfortable. Couches sit perpendicular to the television, which means you cannot utilize them for any practical purpose (besides perhaps putting on shoes)? - We have had an unpleasant (sometimes outright unbearable) odor in our room since arrival. This has been attributed by staff as due to age, cleaning processes, etc. However, it has never been satisfactorily addressed. - With all of our larger issues, we have also had simple requests (more towels, a blanket, adequate filling of empty soap containers in our shower), but even these were a nightmare to get addressed. There seems to be no proper flow of communication amongst staff at this hotel, and we feel like we have to chase people around just to get essentials. - The elevator situation is also a nightmare (which we don't remember being made aware of when we booked this hotel). - The concierge level room we booked (because we'd thoroughly enjoyed the experience at other hotels) has not provided anything special to our stay. Our room is plagued with issues (stains everywhere, broken closet, broken toilet seat, grime in shower, and already mentioned lighting, odor, and layout challenges). And this is to say nothing of the mediocre food and beverage options (most food cold to the point of being inedible - no soda options at all). - Even an attempt to communicate concerns directly to the property manager went ignored. In summary, while the lobby area is quite beautiful, we have had some truly delightful interactions with a few of the staff, and our two room service breakfasts were enjoyable (even though they were ordered because concierge lounge offerings were not appealing), overall this hotel has been substandard. Pro-Tip: We'd recommend you consider the Hilton.

Yelp
This hotel is really showing its age and needs a major overhaul. The parking fee is $42 a day which is highway robbery and hence why their price was so good on Bonvoy. The Bonvoy Elite check in desk is never staffed and I suggested to the Major the second day when I was changing rooms that they should shift it to the first position instead. The staff never acknowledge my status which is a Marriott standard that at one point actually mattered to Marriott. The first room on the Ninth floor was super noisy hence why I packed everything up the next morning and requested a room change. The second room is also in rough shape but on the 14th floor so the noise is a little less. The club lounge is nice but the buffet they mentioned was two chaffing dishes full of spanakopita, some cheese platter, nachos, salsa, sour cream and guacamole. So not really a buffet more of appetizers. The staff is super nice once engaging but that is the only reason this place gets 2 stars instead of one. It seems they are targeting out of towner's who are going to the theme park and not focused on the business traveler.

Yelp
We loved our stay! We came for HHN and it seemed logical to stay close in case we decided to drink. The event was on a Friday night and though we don't live far from LA area we decided to drive up and try our luck with checking in early (12pm) We were given our room keys and we thought our room was nice! And clean! & we're picky .. Our room was corner room so we could see the fwy and the park from our windows. ALSO- though the park is close, we didn't need to walk to get there. There is a shuttle that takes you to city walk- runs every 10-15 mins. Huge perk IMO though!
google avatar

Yelp
Great hotel for visit Universal Studios! Hotel has a free shuttle to and from the park, leaves/arrives every 7-15 min. The pool and nearby bar and restaurant onsite we both good, prices were decent. The onsite parking cost was excessive, $40 or more a day to park. Recommend using Burbank airport vs LAX if you plan to stay here. Rooms were nice, small but cozy.

Yelp
If you're looking for a hotel walking distance to Universal Studios this is one of two options I would recommend! Perfect for families that want to stay near Universal Studios and don't mind a 10 minute walk and want to stay away from the hassle of taking a shuttle (although they do offer one). I only recommend walking if you don't mind walking up and down the hill to the theme park entrance. This can be tricky if you have a heavy stroller or difficulty walking on uneven ground. We go several times a year and always enjoy staying here. It makes trips to the park so easy when we can easily walk to and from our hotel in a matter of minutes. Unlike the hotels that you find near Disneyland, the Sheraton and the Hilton are 2 well known hotel brands and the experiences to them are pretty standard compared to their other lines of hotels. Amenities include a pool, lobby restaurant/bar and gift shop. For those interested in the shuttle, I believe there is a small fee (I think I heard it was $6) and there may be a couple other hotel stops before the shuttle drops you off in the middle of City Walk which is Universal Studios outdoor mall with stores and restaurants that will lead you to the main Universal Studios theme park entrance. If you walk, the first park you'll get to is the theme park entrance, so you'll have to pass the theme park entrance if you are heading City Walk.

Yelp
Convenient location, if visiting universal studios. Walking into the hotel, it looked like what you pay for a room. Very elegant and nice. The staff were amazing and super friendly. My husband and I were very thankful for one staff member (I wish I could remember her name, she was a gem!) She kept having to help us navigate the halls (it's kind of a maze) and was just the sweetest little gal. Bless her heart, she probably gave us directions 10 times. After we checked in and found our room, a terrace "suite" started going south. First off, this was probably the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. There is no extra room anywhere! I was pretty disappointed in that. There was hair all over the floor. The floors are all cut up and chipped. I have never seen such floors in even a cheap motel! It was pretty off-putting. The TV kept us up all night because it was on, and someone had stole the remote control. We couldn't find any buttons anywhere on the TV to do anything. We went to the front desk to request a new one, and they said they'd bring one right away. 2 and a half hours later, we were still waiting. We called back down and asked again it took them about 20 min after the call to get it to us. The safe in the room was left locked so we were unable to utilize it. But didn't want to wait on someone to come fix that because we were exhausted from the drive. The people above us were obnoxious! I don't know if they had kids or what, but they kept dropping what sounded like bowling balls on the floor all night, and kids were screaming. The fire alarm started chirping, so we couldn't sleep from that. Then there was an obnoxious motorcyclist BOTH nights that sounded like they were right outside the window going to fly through the glass. Sleeping was impossible here! I really wanted to check out early, I was over it by 2 am the morning we were leaving. The beds are SUPER tiny, two people (if you are medium to large/fluffy) have to squeeze super close to fit together. My husband and I kept almost knocking each other off. They felt like full-size beds, not queens. The shower, it's very modern, with amazing water pressure. Whatever is on the bottom, it hurts your feet. I recommend wearing shower shoes. There is an amazing breakfast buffet. You can also order Belgian waffles and eggs Benedict. The food was GREAT! The restaurant at night is very good as well. The parking garage you have to pay 45 dollars a night to stay. Keep a key with you when you check out or move your car to the front before checking out, or you'll be locked in. I kept pressing the help/call button, but nobody answered. There was quite the line of people trying to exit, but I had nowhere to go to move. I had to find the phone number to the hotel and call the front desk and get someone to come assist. It took the longest time. I felt bad for the people behind me. They didn't say anything when I checked out, and I didn't even think about it. The shuttle that takes you to Universal Studios is very handy and great. This hotel could be great with some minor changes. Make sure rooms are cleaned thoroughly before assigning them. Ensure you keep up with fire alarm maintenance. Ensure the remote control is in the room. Ensure the safes are able to be used. Add a second gate for the parking garage or ensure there is an attendant to assist. It looks incredible when you walk in. Once you get to your room, it's a different story. It works if you can get some sleep. I couldn't sleep either night that we were there, which made the 10-hour drive home brutal after after walking 9 miles at the park.

Jason V.

Yelp
Not a good look when you check in and get to your room to find empty glasses sitting outside your door. Room was dirty as well. We have stayed here before but probably the last time we do. On to the Hilton which is close by..... Changed my review from 2 stars to 1, because we opened the patio to the poolside and there's a Hot Cheeto!!! WTF... The carpet area smells fishy on the 3rd floor. Gave another star because the food was actually pretty good.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here the end of November-early December. We chose this hotel due to the proximity to Universal Studios and because we knew what to expect from the Sheraton brand! The hotel did not disappoint! I had researched several less expensive hotels in the area, but to be honest they seemed a little sketchy. We booked through Marriott Bonvoy and our rate was about $200 a night. My husband has traveled extensively for work, and said several times that the room and hotel were very nice. We had a standard room on the 14th floor (1412). The agent was very pleasant and informative at check-in. She gave us information on the free shuttle to Universal and immediately offered us a late checkout of Noon (normal checkout is 11am) for no charge as Marriott Bonvoy members. The room was in good repair, was very clean, and comfortable for our needs. There is a small coffee maker with Starbucks coffee in the room, but the bar operates as Starbucks from 6am-11am also. There is also a mini fridge with two complimentary bottles of water. There is also an in room safe in the closet. The bathroom included amenities such as bar soap, and refillable bottles of hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. These all worked well and had a nice scent appropriate for men and women. The shower head was large, water pressure and temperature were also good. They also have a makeup mirror and hair dryer in the room. There was a desk for working, a small couch, large screen TV, and plenty of USB ports. The only way to truly watch TV is from the bed or desk due to the placement of the couch. The room is a bit dimly lit, but it didn't affect us adversely. The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The bar seemed nice though we only went there for Starbucks in the morning. The restaurant (Californias) was fantastic! Great service and delicious food. My husband had the steak, garlic mashed, and the hummus tray appetizer while I had the beef short rib. We also utilized the gift shop which has an amazing selection of toiletries! My only complaint would be the slow elevators. To be fair, they are working on upgrading them. I believe only one, maybe two were working during our stay. The concierge let us know we could use the service elevators which helped, but the service elevators are not designed with being presentable to the public. I have worked in hotels for years so this wasn't an issue, but might be if you are not prepared. They have ice machines and a soda machine (Pepsi) on all but two floors, I believe. The vending area on the 14th floor was clean and functional. Parking in the self parking garage was convenient with in and out privileges available with your room key. The charge is $36 per night for Marriott Bonvoy members and $38 regularly. Valet is also available for $50 per night. We enjoyed our stay and found all of the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. We only had one minor issue. On the day we checked out, our keys stopped working at 11am though we had a Noon late checkout. The desk reprogrammed the keys, but they still did not work so one of us stayed behind in the room while the other loaded up the car. We definitely would stay here again!

Yelp
Decided to surprise the kids with a night here after a day at Universal Studios. Checking in was easy and they have a free shuttle to take guests back and forth to Universal Studios every 15 minutes starting at 6:30am. Our room was nice and clean but there was no closet and only an oddly designed area to hang your clothes. Not an issue for us since we were just staying a night. The only bad thing was that our TV didn't work properly. The remote worked but anytime we selected a channel/show from the guide, there was just a black screen. I definitely recommend this hotel for its close proximity to Universal Studios.

Yelp
I'm shocked this place has only a 2.5 review, I just stayed and it was absolutely exquisite. Staff is attentive, rooms are quiet, everything is clean and new. Best part of my stay was room service. They answered right away and I never had to wait more than 25 minutes. Great food too, not phoned in like other hotels. I can see how parking and getting around might be a hassle but this didn't apply to me.

Yelp
Stayed here during Memorial Day weekend 2024. From the moment we pulled in to the hotel to the morning we checked out the whole experience was great. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Valet staff were very nice, gave me great info on what route to take when we left for dinner during rush hour and had nice chat with my son when we came back, made him laugh so hard. Room is clean and comfortable and the maid saw we have two kids staying in the room so she left more water for us and extra towels. The members lounge was nice and always stuffed with snacks and drinks. DJ, Maria, Albino, Matthew, Sulmy, Helen made sure we have what we wanted and greeted us when we came in and left. The hotel is about 8-10min walk to Universal Studios or you can take the shuttle bus which is only a 2 min ride but the wait for the shuttle is like 10-15 min and it can be crowed sometimes. Btw the pick up location at universal is behind Johnny Rocket restaurant by City Walk. If you walk to the park, there is a set of elevator across from the front entrance and you take them to the top, after you exit, make a left and then just follow the sign you will get to the park. Overall just a great time staying at this property. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in town for universal studios.

Yelp
Good: location. You can walk or take the hotel shuttle back and forth from Citywalk Universal. The Elite lounge had a decent breakfast. The evening snacks weren't very good. No cookies or sweets. They had cheese, hummus and some veggies for dipping. I didn't have time to use the pool or jacuzzi. Looked nice. I was in the 16th floor. Elevators were fine for me. The bathroom was a shower with strong/ great water pressure. Towels and shower gel etc were good. My king bed sheets were clean but one pillow had mold. Grossed me out. I didn't complain bc I just pushed it aside. The room and furniture are in ok condition but definitely showing some wear and tear on the carpet with stains. A/C was good. Ice machine down the hall. I saw a microwave on the lobby level which is nice. They way to "walk" to Universal is to go out to the shuttle stop/ drive of the hotel, walk straight towards the elevators across from the Sheraton that take you to the Hilton. Walk around the Hilton driveway and up a steep block to the right and then cross the road and take 2 flights of stairs to cross over the bridge and that path leads to the Universal Studios Hollywood entrance. The shuttle takes you to the Citywalk by Johnny Rockets and Bubba Gump shrimp and you can walk from there. Same pick up to go back. Shuttle was really convenient. Overall, I may not stay there again unless you want to be on property. You can hear your neighbors talking and lots of kids so kind of noisy. Plus there was a mysterious drilling noise I could hear from the bathroom at all hours. If you're sensitive to noise, not a great room. I didn't get much info or information about the restaurant or breakfast or the lounge from the check in reception person. She didn't give me much of the friendly vibe so I decided to explore on my own. There's a Hilton that's closer to Universal so check that out.

Yelp
We just got back from the Sheraton and loved it! Comfy beds, great view of universal from the 19th floor and beautifully decorated. Customer service was wonderful and the food (we had breakfast and dinner there) was delicious. Only drawback was that the pull out couch was rock hard for our little one. They need to provide a comfortable pillow top for three couch- otherwise 5 stars.

Yelp
The worse mattress I've ever encountered in a hotel. Not just old and uncomfortable but so very noisy with every movement. Not the bed frame but the mattress. It is so old the metal springs creak. Carpet is old and very worn. We got a room across from the elevator and could hear it moving at all hours. The pillowcases smell like they were soaked in bleach and not rinsed. The bleach smell is so strong I got a headache sleeping on it. Parking at the time of this review is $43 for self park and $55 valet. They have a small parking garage but it had plenty of spaces. The location is close to Universal Studios entrance, about a 10 minute walk, but they also offer a shuttle (about the only plus). With L.A. traffic, even staying just a few miles away can mean a 30-60 minute drive to the park but I will not be staying here again.

Yelp
CHECKIN & SERVICE No fee for early checkin. The process wasn't particularly fast but the customer service was pleasant & the representatives were very helpful in navigating my booking error. 1hr late checkout available. ROOM The lobby & hallways are incredibly luxe... But the room really fell short: there was a significant amount of dust, spiderwebs/cobwebs, & generally didn't reflect great cleaning standards (windows, wallpaper). On the positive side: it was spacious, had ample seating, & a great view. BED Pillows here were amazingly dense & the microfiber sheets were very comfortable. BATH The bathroom was not my favorite.. There were dead bugs in the corners, the toilet seat was obnoxiously noisy, & the water pressure wasn't strong for such a streamlined shower. But there are Gilchrist & Soames bath products provided. WI-FI, TV, ENTERTAINMENT Functional wall mount with all the features. Flat screen LG TV with streaming support. Wi-Fi is unencrypted but performed very well: Video streaming: great Gaming: great Video chatting: great NERD STATS: 68-115 Mbps download 89-107 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 7ms latency 3ms jitter FOOD & DRINK DoorDash friendly + medium mini fridge in room. NOISE Very good noise isolation between rooms & housekeeping staff is quiet. VERDICT it's a decent stay considering the location & competitive price but maintenance & housekeeping could be largely improved. Check this place out if you're looking to optimize on price + proximity to universal. 3/5

Yelp
The filthiest hotel we've EVER stayed at-featuring rooms like a Petri dish. You know that travel site commercial when the family joyously looks each other upon seeing their room? THIS IS NOT THAT. This is more like trying to hide your disappointment/disgust for the sake of the tone and energy of your family vacation. Then you realize you are staying at this dump for 3 nights-cue the classic horror movie scream. PROS-The citrus water in lobby is nice, as are the complimentary two bottled waters in the room that are replenished daily. CONS-Upon entering the room we were greeted with filthy walls and damaged accent lights hanging from behind the window valance. The window tinting has holes and initials carved into it. The shower drain doesn't appear to fit and sits atop an uneven surface. The tile into the shower was disgusting with marks and what appeared to be bodily fluids from others. All three of the elevator floors have cracked tiles and the #1 elevator had a spill dried on the floor that our shoes stuck as we tried to exit. The elevators smelled, the 18th floor stunk, literally. Service? We had a bed and pull out sofa and were told there were linens for the sofa in the room. There were no linens and we had to call TWICE to get some. This place is filthy and I will spare you further details about our $29 snack from the California's restaurant, the freeway noise and awful beds because I can't get past how dirty this place is-and that is a deal breaker. PICTURES DON'T LIE-TRY ANOTHER HOTEL.

Yelp
This hotel has many, many issues from lack of elevators to cleanliness issues. The biggest issue on my last stay was ants! In order to avoid the elevator issue (there aren't enough elevators for the amount of guests), we stayed in the lanai rooms. Well, big mistake! They have an infestation of ants and they do not clean your room every day! At least in the bigger part of the hotel I had our room cleaned daily, but this time we didn't AND it had ants! I woke up with a swollen right eye, ants in my bed, shower, and towels! Never, ever again!!!! Good bye Sheraton forever! We are annual pass holders for universal studios so we will be staying at any hotel except the Sheraton!

Yelp
Stayed here for a work conference and after reading reviews I was worried. But I feel like the hotel gets a bad rep and overall it was a great stay. The room was clean. Bed comfortable. And food provided from the restaurant was very tasty. Check in was awesome and I was offered a 4pm check out for being Bonvoy Elite member. Overall no complaints except TV service could be improved (switch to DIRECTV) but I mostly watched shows on my iPad bc WiFi was excellent. There was a little water on the bathroom floor after a shower but no big deal. Use a towel and move on. I would stay here again! Also the Starbucks and bar in the lobby were awesome and did a great job at serving our large thirsty company group after dinners and an afternoon at Universal Studios.

Yelp
Had the best experience first timer at your property!! Jerry Miller greeted us, he is by far the best . He was funny helpful & the best personality. Thank you Jerry for making us feel welcomed! Randi our bartender at the pool was amazing! She knows her stuff! Our cocktails were perfect. Your company is lucky to have her! Thank you Randi, you're the greatest!! Maureen our waitress was awesome!! Great!! Hope to see her soon!! Your staff was so professional!! I'm from Las Vegas if i could take them with me I would!! Hospitality at its best.

Yelp
Our check in was fast and friendly the gentleman forgot his name... was super friendly and welcoming, the lounge (comes only if you're a Marriott elite) was so nice and food and drinks were light but super yumm! The staff was so friendly and courteous too! The hotel was clean, spacious and super close to universal, we could walk there or take their shuttle (we did both) the pool was nice and the bar and restaurant had delicious food, drinks and even espresso all can be delivered to your room! We also liked the convenience of the store inside, we needed a few things there so it was nice to have on site. Overall the only place to stay for us when visiting universal, the Hilton for us was a pass so we're glad we tried Sheraton we won't be doing different again!

Yelp
It's my first time here at Sheraton Universal and I would say the service is great! Everyone who works here is friendly. The Lounge for Elite Members is my favorite! I really love the food in Breakfast and Dinner! They served quality foods! shout out to the Team members of the Lounge - Albino, Helen, Matthew, Jose and Sandra - Thank you for providing an excellent service to your guests. I will definitely come back here and will recommend this place to my Friends and Family!!!

Yelp
Ours was a standard stay for Universal park. I liked the lobby and decor of the hotel. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: -nice looking -great location -nice staff in our experience -shuttle takes you to park -nice shower and room setup Cons: -we had terrace level room and it was a little noisy (could hear neighbors arguing) -our sliding door had a crack in the seal so when people outside were smoking we could smell it -I left my wedding ring in the room and it took 25+ mins for security to check and call front desk with updates Overall good stay, I'd stay here again and we walked to the park so location is amazing

Yelp
Great hotel to stay at if you're planning to go to Universal. Easy walk to Universal. They've got a shuttle to take you there too, but really I feel like we were faster walking. The shuttle drops you off at Universal City Walk, so you still have to walk to Universal Studios. Staff is friendly, but what brought it down a bit was that we requested earlier check in, they asked when we'd like to checkin and accepted it, but when we got there, it wasn't ready and we were waiting for an extra 2 hours. I know it's based on availability, but I guess what got us was, don't offer and say you can do early check in if you can't accommodate. Mobile key on their app kept failing on us, so I suggest just getting a physical key to your room. Pool - it went up to 9 feet? Maybe 8...a little deep in case you're going with people that don't know how to swim or aren't as confident in swimming. There's a jacuzzi as well. You can order food from the bar too and eat at the tables. The service was great. Very attentive and someone is always coming around. Very family friendly, so they have games near the pool, live music at night (certain nights only). We actually liked this hotel better than the Bonaventure in Downtown LA.

Yelp
My stay at Sheraton Universal Hollywood had its ups and downs. Firstly, the bathroom was in dire need of an upgrade. It was outdated and showed signs of wear and tear, which was disappointing. Moreover, the room rate was almost $300 per night, and as someone from Las Vegas, I couldn't help but compare the value. In Vegas, you can get so much more for that price, making it hard to justify the expense here. To add to the inconvenience, I was unaware that the staff was on strike until I arrived. This lack of disclosure made it difficult to navigate the area, especially when Uber Eats and DoorDash wait times exceeded an hour. It would have been better if this information had been communicated prior to booking. One night, we received a noise complaint for our TV, even though it wasn't very loud. Hotel security disturbed us at 11:30 pm, which was frustrating. However, the next morning, we discovered that the family next door had a baby whose crying woke us up at 6 am. We don't blame the hotel for this, but as individuals with experience in the service/hospitality industry, we believe such disturbances could have been prevented with better room placement and concierge efforts. Overall, the Sheraton Universal Hollywood had its flaws, but it also had its merits (i.e. the valet staff was amazing)!

Yelp
I'll preface the following by saying that we actually enjoyed our stay: the hotel was within easy walking distance of Universal Studios, our room was comfortable, our kids enjoyed the pool, and the Tesla Supercharger in the parking lot even came online a few days before our stay. The one star rating is due to a mistaken charge from the hotel restaurant that, even one month after our stay, we've been unable to get refunded. Hotel restaurant charges show up as "Californias" on your final bill, which misled us to think that it was just another random California hotel tax. By the time we decided to call to ask two weeks later, we were informed that only accounting could process a refund. The accounting department at this hotel doesn't seem to exist, though! Concierge always believes "accounting is in", but all of our calls and transfers have gone to voicemail. After three voicemails over another two weeks, we still haven't received a call back. Moral of the story: if the front desk informs you that you don't need to check out with them on your final day and that you should just keep a room key to exit the parking garage, don't listen to them! Go to the front desk, ask for your final bill, and double check it for unknown charges before you leave. I honestly can't tell if this hotel is running a scam or just completely inept - I'd hope it's the latter, but do you want to take the risk? [Update: one day after posting this review, Sheraton Universal's accounting department suddenly came alive and worked with me to refund the mistaken charge. I've decided to let my original review stand, as this entire saga should never have happened to begin with.]

Yelp
I spent all my points on my birthday weekend. I stayed here September 9 through September 10. We went to universal horror nights so we were up until 3 AM. The strikes woke me up at five this hotel would've been $500 instead I wasted all my points for no sleep. The hotel said it was scheduled protest. If it was scheduled, you should've told your guys because they are not getting any sleep. I was on the 11th floor away from the front.. I always choose the Marriott when I go out of country and anywhere when I am traveling. But from now on, I am canceling my credit card at the Marriott. And I will never stay at the Marriott again. Because the Hilton up the hill, we could've stayed at and I could've had gotten sleep. I could've just driven home last night instead but I wanted sleep. And instead I just wasted all my points for no reason at all. What did the hotel do for me? Nothing. Here I wasted points. And to union 11 I say go get a new job with higher pay. Clearly people been complaining for over a month and haven't done anything. F this hotel

Yelp
Very nice spot to stay. It is extremely close to universal, and they provide a shuttle to and from. Everything in the room was very clean. Not one single complaint. Ill be using them in the future

Yelp
Overall a nice experience even though it started out a little rough. We arrived at 4 PM for our designated check-in only the find out that our room was not ready. Staff tried to be helpful but there wasn't much they could do. We had to sit in the lobby for one hour before our room was ready. The room was nice even though there were stains all over the throw pillows. Room service was very fast and amazing food-- dry pricey but worth it. It's so convenient having the shuttle access to the park. The shuttle comes by every 10-15 minutes --a real perk.

Yelp
The staff at the lounge for platinum members is amazing- so attentive and the food was good and fresh. The staff was attentive in all areas of the hotel. The layout of the facility isn't great but overall a nice family place to stay.

Yelp
I stayed here recently and everytime I come here, there is always a problem. Watch your credit card statement. With this visit, I got charged without a call or an email. They charged me an additional $100 and $50. I called them and asked what it was for, and they informed me it was for smoking in the room and staining the couch. First of all, I have never smoked in my entire life, and I had little children with me. Be aware of this place. I am shocked they can just charge you for anything to just make a charge up. No phone calls or email? I had to find this out by inspecting my credit card online. The person I spoke to was no help. I am shocked that this hotel is even in the Marriott chain. It has definitely gone downhill.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here for a wedding reception at the Starview and stayed in a room for a night. There was an issue with the availability of our room, but the person handling our check-in apologized and was able to give us a room close to the other wedding guests in a timely manner. The room was clean and the bed was so soft. The Starview room was a beautiful choice for a reception. The high glass windows allowed us to see the beautiful views of LA at night. I was surprised to find out from the bride that the food being served at the reception was catered by the hotel. It was fancy and delicious. I am a big fan of tomato basil soup and it was a nice surprise to see it served en croute (toasted bread on top to crack open). For the salad, I would have loved to have more vinaigrette on it. I like how the salmon had a nice crisp to it. We had fun and I'm sure the bride was appreciative of the work put into making her wedding day special.

Yelp
When I got off work late earlier tonight, I figured that it might be worth staying overnight in a hotel to wait out the heavy rain. The intense California storm is pounding and it's not safe to drive far. I decided to try the Sheraton Universal since it was so close by. It was already after midnight, so I called and asked to speak to the night manager, who happened to be Daniel. I asked him if he could offer a further discounted hotel rate since my check-in would be such a late night check-in. He said he could not offer that, and at most, he could only offer 50% off the self-parking fee. I asked him in that case, if I should go ahead and book online using my Marriott Rewards member number and my Triple A discount. However, he said for manager specials, I would need to book my room in person. So I drove over there after getting off late from work. He greeted me at the front desk. But what he quoted me was not what was discussed over the phone. To make matters even worse when I was already so exhausted from my work shift, his "buddy" at the front desk chimed in and said that walk-in rates usually start at $199 and that the hotel room pricing goes by supply and demand. They both kept reminding me that the pricing on my Marriott Bonvoy app was not accurate because it was pricing for check-in at 4 pm on Tue (1/10). But hello! I already called ahead of time for late night pricing. I don't know who they thought they were fooling. But I know for a fact that late night pricing is at the manager's discretion and is not based entirely on the hotel website pricing or app. I already thought it was not forthcoming, and actually rather skanky, that they pretty much had me come by their hotel for nothing. As a Marriott Rewards member, I have gotten better perks elsewhere, and have actually gotten free parking before at a hotel within the last year at a hotel that usually charges for parking. Not just discounted parking, but free parking. Daniel's "buddy" reminded me that even if I checked in late tonight, check-out would still be at 11 am later today. Well, duh! Why would I stay past 11 anyway? Needless to stay, I didn't even bother to check in tonight there. I already didn't get good vibes from two morons who did not even treat me well and pretty much mocked me right when I got in. I am writing this review to point out their untasteful behavior. My review is really a complaint about these two men who worked the front desk during the night shift. The only decent and cordial employee I came across tonight was the kind valet lady who asked me if I was planning to valet my car, or self-park. But she was the only decent and warm human being I encountered out of the 3 night shift employees I came across tonight. I definitely won't be coming back.

Yelp
This hotel was a delightful experience from arrival to departure. Surprisingly very affordable for the area. We all needed a place near Universal Studios to be able to relax, and Sheraton did it. The self parking is very intuitive - go in the garage and get a packing ticket (take that to the front desk when you check in). Parking is $32+tax per night. The hotel is luxurious. An amazing breakfast is included with your stay. The fitness center and pool are awesome. The 3-4 elevators are fast and quickly get you to your room. Rooms themselves are pretty large with a big desk, tv, bed, and a nice bathroom. Fitness center is pretty big with tons of cardio equipment and weight machines. The breakfast is very good with a ton of good, warm food. The hotel has a free shuttle to Universal, but be sure to request it and get in line ASAP! Lots of people try to use this small shuttle, and if you want to use it, be first in line. This is a great hotel and if I ever come to Universal again I will definitely stay here again!

Yelp
The breakfast buffet was delicious and everyone working in the restaurant was great. The shuttle service was great. The bellboys and valet and housekeepers were helpful and pleasant. My room however, for the description and price I paid was very disappointing- it looks like the room had been cut in half with a divider, so, when I was expecting a suite, it wasn't. The elevators had quite a wait too because one would be out of order and then another one would be out of order.

Yelp
Worst bar service, if they dont like you it's done. Definitely a 2 star, wings might look good they extra salty
