Positive remarks first. Annie was an Outstanding Hostess who met our needs constantly and expediently. Sharon took good care of our room and was friendly. Drinks, snacks, beach chairs, beach towels, and umbrellas were very nice added perks. Negatives We had two rooms at the Sherborne and rugs were filthy in both. Air Conditioning in one room was SO LOUD sporadically that it would wake you up constantly throughout the night. Shower drain in one Bathroom was smelly.

Amazing stay at the Sherburne Inn!! We stayed there with our infant and they were so accommodating! The service was excellent. So clean and fully stocked with all of the essentials! They had breakfast, snacks and even a dessert when we came back from dinner! Will definitely be staying with them again!

This is my second summer in a row staying at Nantucket Resort’s Sherburne House. It couldn’t be more perfect- larger than average room, huge comfy kind bed, high end bedding, decor, and toiletries. The special touches of free breakfast, coffee, tea, fresh baked muffins and scones are just so impressive. The hotel offers beach totes with towels and gas comfy beach chairs for no charge. I was given the same room I had last year which is just another attention to detail that is priceless

We enjoyed our stormy Nantucket weekend in Sherburne Inn’s converted garage. Because we booked late for a wedding-heavy weekend, it was the last unit available, and we paid a fortune for it. But it worked for us: the ground floor location meant my wife didn’t have to climb stairs (with her bum foot). The queen bed was comfortable, and there was a gable ceiling, with a decorative chandelier. Moreover, it was very private. The only staff we met was a chance encounter with a housekeeper; keys were left for pick-up in the foyer and all instructions/answers were done via text. The wall-mounted HVAC unit amplified the constant rain, but the restrained, mostly white décor was quiet, with all required amenities. There was a coffee maker (sans decaf), mini frig, lots of drawers, big-screen TV, and a sliding barn door to the bathroom. The bathroom had adequate hot water, nice toiletries, windows, and (strangely) a door directly outside from a large, tiled shower. Very clean, and everything worked. Located a short walk to the center of town.

We spent two nights here. The Sherburne is one of three Nantucket inns run by the Nantucket Resort Collection. The price of these three inns is generally less than most other of the B & B's/inns on the island, so we were initially concerned that the quality would not be up to par. We were dead wrong. The Sherburne was a very good place to stay. It's on a very quiet street less than a 10 minute walk from the ferry, and within a 10 minute walk from most of the island's top rated restaurants.||Our good-sized king room was on the second (top) floor of the historic house. The innkeeper (Kara) will help with carrying luggage up the stairs. One of the best features of our room was that it had a small porch directly off the room. It was lovely to sit out there on two nice Fall days. The room had a ceiling fan, large closet, and a fairly large flat screen TV. The bed is pretty high and a bit soft for us, but not a big issue. The bathroom was also good-sized, with a walk-in shower. Like most of the inns in Nantucket Town, parking is street only.||A continental breakfast with lots of choices is served each morning (you can eat in the lobby or your room). Kara (innkeeper) does a great job. She's always there or within easy reach to answer questions, fix any issues, recommend restaurants, etc. Overall, we were really pleasantly surprised with how nice our stay was.

Wonderful stay at the Sherburne Inn for our 40th Wedding Anniversary!||||Location: Perfect - just a couple of blocks from Main Street and the Harbor. An easy walk to the waterfront, restaurants, bike rentals, Shuttle stops, etc.||||Staff: Kara was an excellent host.... helpful, sweet, thoughtful, always anticipating guests needs. She greeted us like we were old friends and really made our stay enjoyable. Sharon with housekeeping was also friendly and very efficient.||||The Inn: Beautiful inside and out. We had a petite queen room and it was very comfortable. So clean and the bed/bedding were the most comfortable we have experienced travelling. Breakfast was very nice....a good selection each morning. We took our breakfast outside to eat daily. There was also a nice selection of water, snacks and a Keurig available in the parlor throughout the day. The Inn had backpack beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels and totes available 24/7. ||||Our stay at The Sherburne Inn made our first trip to Nantucket exceptional.

If you are thinking about booking a stay at the Sherburne Inn, do not hesitate - book it!! We were so impressed and pleased with this adorable inn. To start, the location was PERFECT. It's tucked away on a quiet street but minutes from all of the action downtown. All of our favorite restaurants and stores were under a 10 minute walk away. The inn has so much character and was recently remodeled so it feels clean, fresh and cozy. The common spaces are just lovely and we loved the outdoor seating areas that collected sunshine. Our room (the king petite) was impeccably clean, spacious and beautiful. We had a in-suite coffee maker, water, a steamer, plenty of hangers, a hair dryer and lovely restroom amenities - they have Malin + Goetz products. The towels, bedding and mattress all felt luxurious. There's a community refrigerator available, reading materials and an ice machine. They have beach chairs and towels. The daily continental breakfast was so lovely and had different items each day. They have coffee, tea, water, sodas and snacks available 24/7. In the evenings, they set out little treats for guests to enjoy. The manager of the inn, Kara, was truly such a JOY to speak with and made sure we had everything we needed. She felt like family and made our stay even more memorable. Overall, we were thrilled with the Sherburne Inn!! Can't recommend it enough. One thing to note, this is a bed and breakfast and not a "traditional hotel" - more of a cozy, home feel - which we loved!

My husband and I stayed at the Sherburne Inn on Gay Street for 4 nights. I used TripAdvisor reviews and other guidebooks to look up possible accomodations in Nantucket. Sherburne Inn is a small historic inn (or bed and breakfast) with a fabulous location. We walked from the ferry and the inn was just outside the main town. Kara, the innkeeper, greeted us and showed us to our deluxe king room, located at the back of the property on the first floor. She showed us the layout of the inn - the common room, the location of the beach bags and complimentary beach towels for guests' use, and the various places where we could eat our included breakfast. They've thought of everything here: water carafe and coffee for the guests, a fridge in the common room with all kinds of drinks, snacks in a basket, etc. Our room also had a Keurig coffee pot and all the fixings, complimentary water, and a small guest fridge. Facility had great air conditioning that we could control. Guest robes were provided and stored in the closet. Kara asked us what we were planning and then suggested some sandwich shops, walks, beaches, transportation options, and restaurants. We made dinner reservations before we arrived; we used a combination of Opentable, Yelp, and Resy, and some needed to be booked 30 days before, a week before, etc. The restaurants we chose (Oran Mor, Ventuno, Queequegs, and Cru) were all terrific. We rented bikes from Young's Bikeshop for 3 days and were able to store them at the back of the property. We also used the island transport called the Wave to get to a number of spots ($3 each, one way). Stop looking at different lodging options and book this place now! Highly recommended for location, comfort, cleanliness, and of course, the kindness of the innkeeper, Kara! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Yelp
Absolutely adored this quaint 8 room inn with two levels. Each level had their own common room. In the lower level their was breakfast, coffee, juice, homemade delicious apple bread and granola with fresh fruit and yogurt. There were a couple seating arrangements outside, one which was a deck sitting area off the lower level and the other was a sitting garden/green space with nice Adirondacks chairs. The Inn Keeper Kara was fabulous. She made sure everyone was taken care of and had everything they needed for their stay as well as provided recommendations on where to go and things to do/see. It was my birthday getaway and she even went above and beyond and put a birthday sign over the fireplace with a nautical themed candy display of lobster gummies, etc. The house keeping staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The owner Karen was there as well and we had a very nice conversation about her ownership of the inn and island itself. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone and can't wait to come back in the future! Thank you, Sherburne Inn! Mackenzie

Yelp
We stayed at the inn for Columbus Day weekend in 2020 and I just booked us another stay for a weekend this fall because we enjoyed the property so much. The location can't be beat - it's an easy walk to the restaurants and shops but tucked away just enough that it isn't overly loud. The rooms are clean & tidy and typical of what you'd expect at a quaint B&B on a very historic island. The yard is nicely equipped with chairs to sit outside & enjoy some wine or coffee. We're excited for our second stay at the property!

Yelp
Oh... what's not to love about the Sherburne Inn. This lovely B&B is located in town, about three short blocks from Main St. There is a beautiful garden to the side of the Inn which we enjoyed. We live in NY sans a backyard, so we took the opportunity to eat our breakfast in the Adirondack chairs. They also have a little bike rack to the side of the garage where you can lock your bikes. Bike rental is highly recommended. The Inn has an old feel but it's painted with fresh light colors. The room that we stayed in was fairly large, "exclusively romantic" was its given name. There are no elevators but that is typical for many inns in Nantucket. Susan, the inn keeper was a delight, dropping out bountiful baskets of buttermilk cinnamon coffee cake, (and other days butterscotch coffee cake) - both to die for, served with yogurt and fruit. The inn typically has 3 (maybe even 4) night minimums during peak season. If you have been to Nantucket, you want to stay there for 3-4 nights - minimum. You pay the full amount up front which is kind of nice because you don't have such a dreadful credit card bill once you return from your trip - you only have the restaurants and the other purchases. We were accommodated in every way imaginable. The only thing that we could have used more of was towels and they gladly brought those up when we asked. The street was quiet and charming. When my fiance and I got ENGAGED at sconset sunrise, we came back to the Sherburne Inn garden to eat breakfast and call our parents. I will always remember the Sherburne Inn because they celebrated with us. Susan was taking our photos in the garden and that night they brought us flowers, cookies and a congratulatory note! I highly recommend this place and plan on staying her when I return to Nantucket.

Yelp
If you are looking for a lovely inn close to town (very much within walking distance to the ferry) then the Sherburne Inn is for you. Affordable by Nantucket standards, and worth every penny. This inn is comfortable and cozy without being too grandmotherly. The innkeepers are prompt, courteous and have a great attention to detail. Hospitality ooooozes from this place - especially welcome on an island where a lot of the newer B&Bs in town are ultra-modern outposts of snobbery. Breakfast is bountiful (town restricts warm, traditional breakfasts, but hearty continental fare is served here) and homemade breaskfast breads are delicious. Ownership has recently changed, but from what I hear, the service and charm of thisB&B have not.

Yelp
I booked a last minute trip to Nantucket midweek and the Sherburne Inn was recommended as a good deal in a good location with a nice room. And really, it was all that. $220 per night in the middle of summer in Nantucket is hard to find, so I was pleased with the rate. The room was light and cheery and tastefully decorated. It wasn't amazing, but there wasn't really anything to complain about. Great location, within walking distance of everything. Why two stars, you ask? The reason I give it two stars instead of three is because of the service we received by one of the B&B's innkeepers. It's actually owned by a corporation, so the innkeepers aren't innkeepers so much as they are employees. At any rate, one of the ladies was perfectly lovely. She checked us in, got us restaurant reservations, was sweet and pleasant and informative about the area. It's the other woman that left us cold. She had the least hospitable manner I've ever run across in the hospitality industry. My bf said "She clearly doesn't like people." She was so unpleasant towards us while we had our morning coffee, we decided to drink it outside rather than spend too much time near her. I asked if she had a guidebook of the island and her reply was "No." Not, "No we don't, but is there something I might be able to help you with?" Just no. Checkout is at 11, but for some unknown reason, she chose to go grocery shopping at 11, so myself, my boyfriend and two other guests were standing around, not sure what to do about checking out - or storing our bags in their garage as she'd said we could. She arrived back at the hotel at 11:30 while we were waiting for a cab. So, if you're looking for a good deal with a decent room, this is a good choice. Just keep your fingers crossed that this woman has learned that hospitality isn't the business for her by the time you book your room at the Sherburne Inn.

Yelp
Susan was a gracious host and we enjoyed the room and morning breakfasts a great deal even with the "no eggs in Nantucket" local law. :) Since our room was the only one occupied and in the middle of winter, we didn't enjoy the full potential of the back yard and wood deck. The place was a bit cold at times but I sympathize with how hard it is to heat an entire house for one couple. The location is amazing with just a short walk to any of the few restaurants open in the middle of February. :) Again, our choice to stay in winter. I was a short, brisk walk from the archives, and I enjoyed seeing Main Street on the way to and from the library. I'd definitely come back and stay again and would recommend the Sherburne Inn to any friends and family. The winter rates are a fantastic deal and the solitude was refreshing after months on end in Brooklyn.

Yelp
My wife and I have been staying at Sherburne Inn for quite some time. This is our first time back however, with a five year gap in time. The owners have changed and we've noticed some changes, small in nature, but all positive. We arrived on the island before check in time and our luggage was secured until our room was ready. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. The bed is one in which sleep is only a few minutes away. We love the fact that there are no little ones running around, making noise as well. The bathroom is still a bit claustrophobic and the sink is only functional. Shower is superb. WiFi is sketchy and difficult if one needs to communicate with business. Continental breakfast is presented nicely in a picnic basket at our front door. Warm home baked goods with fruit compote, yogurt and juice are a perfect way to start the day. We're glad to see that the inn has changed slightly but the overall experience is one which is always restful and memorable.

Yelp
Wonderful Inn - loved our stay. Very Quaint and Cozy - just how I pictured an Inn in Nantucket. The Innkeeper Susan was wonderful - very helpful and welcoming. The place was very clean and well kept. Our room, number 7 was small but nice. It may have had the smallest shower I have ever seen though - smaller than a cabin shower in a cruise ship even. I took a peek at room 8, which is where I will stay when we come back. I loved the breakfast basket and was excited tp open my door to find it each morning - it was a nice touch, and a very creative way to make up for not being able to have breakfast. Another notable part of the inn is the linen.. the best ever - 100% egyptian cotton, I now have to buy myself some. Points for having Aveda bath accessories too. Very close walk to town. Bike rack for easy storage. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
What a lovely place! It's really close to "downtown" Nantucket (about a five minute walk) but in a residential area, so it's very quiet and peaceful at all times. My room was so comfortable - wish I could have brought that bed home with me!! The breakfast in the morning hit the spot - delicious baked goods, fruit, granola, juice, coffee and tea. More than enough to get you revved up to explore the wonderful sights of Nantucket. Madelon is the best innkeeper imaginable! So warm and welcoming, and armed with great suggestions for anyone's visit to this picture-perfect island. I cannot rate this lovely inn highly enough. The Sherburne Inn helped this little old lady cross Nantucket off her "bucket list" with a flourish! I will always remember it with great fondness and highly recommend it to anyone considering a trip to "faraway land" (i.e. Nantucket).

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at the Sherburne in mid July. The inn is ideally located on quiet Gay Street, just a five minute walk to the center of town. Our sunny room faced east and the morning sun was a delight to wake up to. The room was just perfect for a couple seeking a week-long getaway from New York City. It was decorated in "Nantucket style" and was totally adequate. The common rooms were similarly decorated. Madelon and Karen were extremely gracious and accommodating. They helped us at every turn although we are pretty easy travelers, seeking just sun, some quiet time, and outdoor activities. They knew just where to send us for great restaurants and local haunts. In the morning, freshly baked muffins, juice and coffee greet you in the living room. As you leave, you can pick up a folding chair and towel before heading to the beach. In the afternoon, you can count on a wine bar to relax and share experiences with other guests. Then, in the evening, after a night out at dinner, it is hard to resist nibbling on a piece of chocolate or cookie in the entrance hall placed there for the guests before retiring. It is quintessential Nantucket, low key, and relaxing. The owner and staff are available to help at any time. We look forward to returning soon.

Yelp
Our first visit to Nantucket. The host was gracious and helpful in providing suggestions and making reservations. The rooms are charming as well as comfortable. The common areas are inviting and provide space for socializing with other guests if you choose. A light breakfast that includes homemade breads was delicious. We would highly recommend and would love to return.

Danielle H.

Yelp
This quant Inn was perfect for our first stay in Nantucket. It was clean, inviting and cozy. Karen was an exceptional host and very helpful in planning each day. The complimentary breakfast and happy hour did not disappoint. We would certainly come back!

Yelp
This place was a complete disappointment. Maybe it was just the small room, or the unwelcoming woman who checked us in, but I'm really glad we didn't book the place for more than one evening. I felt that it was overpriced for what we got, and it really bugged me that guests aren't allowed to open the windows for fresh air. Their a/c was blasting and it was only 78 outside so it made the room very chilly. We won't be back.

Yelp
Stayed here during our visit. They have a couple of buildings where the rooms are located. Quite a nice hotel, very quaint interior decor. I recall this to be a little pricey but this is Nantucket...

Jimmy K.

Yelp
This was our first trip to Nantucket and the Sherburne Inn was perfect. Susan, the innkeeper, was extremely friendly and helpful. We loved the basket that showed up at our door each morning with fresh fruit, baked goods, yogurt, and juice. A special touch were the beach towels and bags available for beach trips.

Lars B.

Yelp
Way over-hyped and over-priced. In addition to paper thin walls with little privacy and drunken patrons trying to mistakenly enter your room at 3:30am, calling this a bed and breakfast is a farce. Breakfast consists of a table spoon of yogurt, a couple of berries and a mini-muffin. The owner was indifferent and unapologetic about late-night drunken patrons. For peace and quiet, I'd stay somewhere else.

L P.

Yelp
The Sherburne Inn was a delightful place to stay over a 4-day weekend in Nantucket. The price for the quality and location is really very reasonable. The manager, Kim, was very sweet and helpful with all of our requests. Bike storage, beach bags and towels, luggage holding, you name it. I loved the breakfast baskets, it was a perfect way to slowly wake up in the morning. The only major downside was our room faced directly east and the bright sun was not properly blocked by the shades. More substantial blackout curtains would be a noteworthy improvement. We also did not receive quality wifi within our room, which was a minor nuisance - we spent most of the time outside anyways. All in all, very satisfied with our stay at this pleasant inn.

Marie C.

Yelp
Stayed here right at the start of "busy" season with my husband, his brother and parents. The location is perfect, and the inn is extremely comfortable. Happy hour drinks and snacks + breakfast were delicious! Very impressed. Staff was accommodating, kind and considerate. Provided the 5 of us with towels and bags for the beach. Offered wonderful recommendations for biking paths and beaches. When we can return to Nantucket, we will definitely be back at the Sherborne!

Dimitri A.

Yelp
If you need a friendly or a family place to stay in Nantucket, this is the one! You will be every moment of the day well received... It is also lovely decorated. I even had a problem with a late taxi but Susan found the solution, she had the kindness to drop me at the airport. The Sherburne is in center of Nantucket in a quiet place. You won't be disappointed......
