OMG if you love cheese you HAVE to stop in this little shop! Incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable staff happy to let you try anything. Walked out with a mini cheeseboard for one with 4 different Irish cheeses for under 15 euro.

Google
Very friendly staff who worked hard to help us find some amazing cheeses. We got a taste of about 10 different cheeses and they didn’t force any purchase on us, though we did buy some amazing Irish cheeses. There are a lot of European cheeses too. Cheese heaven.

M. S

Google
A very good selection of both seasonal & all time cheeses. Good customer service!

Google
This is a must visit for any cheese lover. Nick was kind enough to help me find some amazing local cheeses to bring home with me. The varieties ran the spectrum from cow to sheep to goat, both young and aged. They also have a plethora of other gourmet products, so if you are a cook, or love to cook or eat, make sure you stop in. I grabbed some local salt too.

Patt Reynolds

Google
The cheese was the best I’ve ever had the young man that helped me was very knowledgeable and generous with samples.

Google
Such a nice shop full of cheeses! We came here looking for reblochon, and found a whole shelf of them! Both from France and Ireland. Meats were also delicious and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. May all your cheesy needs be met here!

Rebecka Montgomery

Google
We had a very knowledgeable employee that let us sample cheeses. He helped us pick primary Irish cheeses and meats so I could sample what the country had to offer. Weather you are visiting or from Dublin. Do yourself a favor and visit this place. It's amazing.

Google
If you looking for top experienced cheeses mongers you definitely need to place a visit at this amazing shop in Dublin. Got 2 hours full training from these legends willing to help me to learn more about delicious food as cheese. Top of Dublin highly recommend it!

Yelp
After a Full Irish Breakfast, my friend and I didn't want a full meal at lunchtime. Instead, we stopped by Sheridan's for some cheese and crackers. The shop is tiny, but the smell when you walk in...heaven! The service was amazing - a staff member working when we were in last week talked us through lots of options (Irish cheddars, soft cheese, funky cheeses...), helped us pick four different cheeses, and cut small pieces of each for us. They also sell crackers, meat, olives, wine, ... everything you could need or want with cheese! I wish they had a place to enjoy their cheeses, but we sat at a table outside that technically belonged to another business and it would have been nice to walk over and enjoy it in St. Stephen's Green, too! Just a wonderful shop!

Adam D.

Yelp
Be very careful here. You will say "200 grams" and they will on purpose cut you a 300g piece. I think they have an unwritten policy to over-cut your request. Every single time I ask for something at Sheridan's they over-cut my order. I can't believe people who do this for a living haven't figured out how to eyeball-it within like 15%. I can go over to Fallon & Byrne and ask for 200g of cheddar and yer man will cut a piece exactly 200g. Seriously, to the gram. On other occasions they may have given me 210 or 220. Fallon & Byrne will give me something really close to what I asked for, but cutting an extra hundred grams? Come on Sheridan's, I see what you did there. Boosting the profits.

Yelp
Cozy, cute cheese store with knowledgeable and kind associates. I've never had sheep's milk cheese and got to have two tastes- ended up purchasing the one that is a harder cheese. If you love cheese, this is definitely the place for you. I don't know much about cheese, nor do I eat it often, but if I lived here, I would definitely be stopping in at least once a week.

Sheila P.

Yelp
I'd been stalking this place for months in preparation for our trip to Ireland. I was NOT disappointed (and let's be honest, after fantasizing, I was expecting my dreams to be dashed). The gentleman at the counter was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He let me try as many cheeses as I wanted and what was especially great, suggested ones that were exactly what I wanted (because, let's face it, who can go in and say they want X cheese from blah blah if they've not been exposed to it). Also- he suggested EXCELLENT meat pairings and packaged them so nicely for us. I hope this place won't ever go out of business because it was fabulous!

Bridget R.

Yelp
Sheridan's just got a little bit better -they're selling pizza kits! Granted, these dine-in dishes of delish aren't cheap: a base is €6.95, passata is €2.95 and the buffalo mozz rings up at €2.95 (there's also tuna on sale but I'm grossing out just trying to conceptualise a hot tuna and cheese pie), all in all you'll end up paying €12.85, not too far off from what you'll pay to let Bistro Bianconi throw one together deliciously for you. But still, nice to see this perfect cheese shop expanding the offering!

Corina R.

Yelp
This place is not to be missed. Fresh meats salami ham cheeses olives crackers wine chocolate. Need I say more? I shop here weekly.

Sean G.

Yelp
Cheese Heaven. If you are lactose intolerant look away now. This is a small shop stuffed with cheese, chutneys, wine and meats. All you need for your charcuterie board. You can try before you buy

Rob M.

Yelp
I'm only a recent cheese convert and up until recently was put off going in here due to the nasty waft of air that smacks you in the nostrils every time the front door opens. But, now considering myself a cheddar obsessive, I've been going for harder, stronger, smellier blocks of orange and Sheridans is yer only man when lookin for a good block of cheese. They also do wines, so if you're looking for a fancy night in, make sure you stop by.

Natalie M.

Yelp
If you love cheese, you'll love Sheridans. I also thought it was impossible for so many people to know so much about cheese, but the staff are amazing. Sheridan's have all the cheeses you could dream off. There are so many it's mind boggling. I love soft cheeses (but not goats cheese) so I had a beautiful selection of brie, camembert and some others that I can't remember the name of when I had some friends over for dinner. Also had to include the obligatory smelly, blue cheese. Sheridan's don't just do cheese either. They also do lovely pestos, olives, sandwiches, parma ham and lovely specialty meats. It's a little bit expensive but it's the real deal. Splash out.

Steinunn J.

Yelp
This is a gourmet shop that really stands out and a haven for anyone with a palate for cheese. Love their old-fashioned look combined with the up-to-date selection of best cheeses available from Ireland and Europe. I even love the thick smell of ageing cheese that welcomes you when you step inside. This place brings me back to France where you go to the cheesemonger for cheese, the bakery for the baguettes and grab a few bottles in the wine-shop next door. You'll probably find everything you're looking for and more, from brie, goat cheese, smoked cheese, Bresse Bleu, cheddar and parmigiano to cheeses so old they might just walk out the door. And if you have a hard time choosing your platter, the staff will let you try little bites of heaven until you find the perfect combination! Great place with fantastic service!

Annie L.

Yelp
Sheridan's is a small and compact spot. Up the stairs is the till and the cheese-mongers behind it wearing their traditional white coats. It has an old world rustic charm to it and the dark green front is in keeping with the early 1900's vibe that it has pulsing throughout it. The selection of cheese is fantastic, so if you take your cheese very seriously or want to get a different type of gift or if like me, you have a curiosity and want to grow your understanding of cheese, then you must come here. It goes without question that the staff know their cheese and most importantly have a passion for it. I was planning a party for some friends, old and new, so I thought the best thing and simplest idea was to create a cheese platter. Above the help that they gave me with regards to the cheese they made my life so much easier by advising the type of wines and beers that would compliment my selection. It's hard to judge something like that when alot of what I bought was some varieties that I had never tried before. Prices are reasonable. The unanimous positive feedback from the folks at my party confirmed to me that they really appreciate and understand their product. They also made me look good and knowledgeable as I regurgitated what they told me which is always a good thing!

Carrie B.

Yelp
Super cute little shop with a great collection of cheeses (Irish primarily, but I did see some others mixed in). They also have cured meats, breads, olives, spreads, chocolates, and fish. Being lactose intolerant, I was not sure they would have something for me, but they did. The cheese was delightful. Staff is really friendly!

Le D.

Yelp
Beautiful little shop w some of the worlds best cheese. As a lover of stinky French cheese, found treats here worth the visit, and don't forget to buy some Irish Milleen (sp)!?!!!

Jo M.

Yelp
Cheese, glorious cheese! If you are passionate about your brie and parmesan, make a beeline for this place! Cheeselovers will be in heaven wandering through this shrine to all the world's quality cheeses. Sample some of their different varieties from around the world, indulge in some lovely black olives or fetta-filled peppers, or treat yourself to a parma ham sandwich. Sheridans has some great deals too, the one on offer at the moment is a 12 euro dinner for 4 - it's just the ingredients, mind you, but buy them, take them home and whip up your very own tuna and parmesan pasta to well and truly impress your friends and family. Sheridans also stock a small range of wines, so you can get everything for your dinner needs here.

Aoife M.

Yelp
My name is Aoife and I am a cheese-oholic. This is my new favourite spot when decide to treat myself, and I may have gone a wee bit overboard on the last visit, but when you get to try before you buy and everything is so damn good, €30 on cheese for one person doesn't seem that unreasonable, right?? Staff are really friendly knowledgeable and informative and the selection is fantastic. It isn't cheap but you're not going to go here to buy a lump of cheddar for a toastie, this is where you get the good stuff for fancy crackers and tasty relishes (both also available here!). They also do cheese wedding cakes, which I had at a friends recently, and was the first time I saw people actually eat a wedding cake, and its less than half the price of some madeira monstrosity!

Mary C.

Yelp
It took me a while after I moved to Dublin to realize the reason I couldn't find all of the cheeses I loved was because I was looking in the wrong place. I searched grocery store after grocery store and only one (Fresh on Camden Street) yielded even the most basic of my cheese needs (yes needs) - goat cheese. Such a normal item back home seemed to be rather specialized here in Dublin. I was dismayed. But then I found Sheridan's. Sheridan's, as it turns out, is the right place to find cheese. They have lots and lots of it. And it's gooooood. From ooey gooey Taleggio that stinks like feet to salty manchego that's best dizzled in honey and topped with quince paste. This is the real deal. They have everything and more and for me, it's heaven on earth. The staff is really helpful and will let you sample cheese if you're not sure what you're getting yourself into (or are pretending you don't in order to get free cheese, though who does that kind of crazy thing [me]). They can also recommend cheeses to go together for a cheese platter, if you feel like impressing friends at your next dinner party.

Yelp
Sheridans Cheesemongers is a quaint cheese shop located off Grafton Street in the city center of Dublin. They offer a fabulous selection of Irish and European cheeses and charcuterie. I love the fresh, local farmhouse cheeses. They also have delicacies to accompany their cheese such as olives, chutneys, mustard, crackers, and wine. Everything they sell is of exceptional quality. The staff will gladly let you sample before you buy and they also make delicious sandwiches. Twice a year they offer evening "Cheese Courses." sheridancheesemongers.com

Yelp
This place has been reviewed before, but I just wanna give it up for the mongers, especially my favorite employee of the cheese "A" from Germany. I can call her on Saturday and on Sunday she brings my order to the Dun Laoghaire Farmer's Market close to where I live. I just stroll over there, have a nice chat with "A" in my native language and bring the good stuff home to the French lady. That's customer care with two capital Cs. The cheese is really good, too! Try St Nectaire, Delice de Bourgogne, Tomme de Chevre and a soft Marcellin! Feel like God in France.

Cristin L.

Yelp
Om... I love cheese.... and Sheridan's Cheesemongers has lots of excellent, quality cheeses. We left here with four different types and we had an excellent evening of cheese and wine. The highlights of the four for me was the Ardrahan semi-soft and the Cashel Blue. However the staff left us a bit miffed. We felt slightly in their way to be honest (it is a small shop), so two of our party of four left after we had two cheeses picked as they felt a bit uncomfortable. While waiting to sample more cheese that we might buy, it took another customer to point out to the staff that we were waiting to be served (which was mighty nice of her to be fair). Yes, we still here and yes we still want to try more cheese if that's OK. We'll pay real money and all. Three stars for cheese, no stars for the staff.

Laetitia L.

Yelp
This is a place to know for all French expats missing their cheeses.... Whether you are more into blue cheese or camembert, the shop offers a great selection of cheeses from various countries, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. It is also conveniently located near Grafton street and St Stephen's Green, in case you want to head out for a little picnic. You should be ready to pay a little more than what you pay in most supermarkets, but the quality is worth the price and it is a nice change from the usual cheddar.

Becky P.

Yelp
We had a really good experience here. Very knowledgeable staff, and very happy to let you try any cheese until you find the one you love! We got some really great farmhouse style cheeses here that definitely made our travel sandwiches a fancy treat!

Paul C.

Yelp
This is a fantastic shop, and I visit their market stall at Cows Lane in Temple Bar for cheese most Saturdays. I go to the store on South Anne's Street for the cooking chorizo and the salsiccia they stock is delicious! I find these especially hard to find in Dublin.

Sylvia J.

Yelp
I got our wedding cake made of cheese here. It was amazing, and they made it so easy by sending by courier to the hotel. Couldnt have been nicer or easier! Great selection of cheeses. I could stay in this shop all day.

Cherpumple F.

Yelp
Yeah, so these peeps really know what's going on in the world of cheese. I walked in just to look around and ended up tasting several different kinds before choosing something to literally take outside and eat in three bites. My arteries are thanking me. Knowledgeable staff, fantastic selection, wish I lived in Dublin for this.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Great cheeses, meats and olive bar. Way cheaper than what we would've spent in California for a two person charcuterie board. I dropped the rating to 4 stars because the guy who helped us said as little as possible when helping us but he did give us what we needed. I couldn't even pick him out of line up, I'm not sure he ever looked in my direction. It was serviceable service rather than the friendly demeanor we've experienced the past 2 weeks in Ireland.

Sara J.

Yelp
Such a delightful little shop. A lovely selection of cheeses (mostly irish, but at least a few french, italian, etc.) and other delicacies in the cold cases such as cured meats, fish, pates. Oh, and olives, breads, chocolates and some other tasty treats as well. Came before my flight home to pick up some cheeses to bring back (they probably get his a lot), and the gentleman helping me was so helpful and patient as I tried half a dozen cheeses to make my selections (obviously I would have happily tried them all but I didn't want to torture the poor man all afternoon). He also nicely shrink wrapped my treasures for the trip home, helping to ensure the freshness of both my cheese and the rest of the contents of my luggage. A tad pricey, but not any more so than any other fancy cheese shop I've been to - and well within the realm of what I usually spend on a cheese-buying spree. (Yes, cheese-buying spree. Am I the only one?)

Steve Y.

Yelp
OMG. You don't even have to be a cheese fanatic, but if you are...Sheridan's Cheesemongers is phenomenal. And what a great, helpful, friendly staff. Together we had so much fun trying different cheeses and talking cheese talk. Cheese heaven. YES cheese!

Quentin D.

Yelp
If it were not for this explanation explaining that I wanted this to be the shortest review ever on Yelp.ie then I'm pretty sure I'd win (if indeed there were a prize for the shortest review...which there isn't). As it stands I've totally ruined my record breaking attempt so here's the review anyway... Mellas fudge (vanilla), sublime ...oh, and they sell cheese too

Ethna R.

Yelp
Can I live here? Or can I work here and get paid in cheese? That's how good it is! Cheesefest galore, you will find great quality Irish cheese in this cosy little shop. You can also pick up extras such as crackers, and I recommend the Irish brown bread crackers, they are beautiful!

Mike S.

Yelp
If you love cheese or have cheese-loving friends, this is the place for an array of fine cheeses in Dublin. Staff know their cheeses, are accommodating with recommendations and tastes and will highlight locally-produced (from Ireland) cheeses if you like. The guy who helped me was great. And if you are traveling, they will shrink wrap the package for you. Got two sets of three excellent cheeses to share at two dinners with friends. This is my goto place for cheese in Dublin.

Qype User (lasthe…)

Yelp
Pricey stuff, but then again most of the food out there is cheap crap anyway. It's a welcome change. I just wanna give it up for the mongers, especially my favorite employee of the cheese "A". I can call her on Saturday and on Sunday she brings my order to the Dun Laoghaire Farmer's Market close to where I live. I just stroll over there, have a nice chat with "A" and bring the good stuff home. That's customer care with two capital Cs. The cheese is really good, too! Try St Nectaire, Delice de Bourgogne, Tomme de Chevre and a soft Marcellin!

Matt D.

Yelp
Very helpful staff working here, and polite, too! I'm not from Ireland, and so I wanted to buy some Irish cheese to take home to my family. I told this to an employee working here, and he gladly let us sample three Irish sheep milk cheeses. He grated a slice for myself, brother, and friend, of each type, so we could collectively decide which to buy. Great experience.

Wesley W.

Yelp
This is an amazing place if you like cheese. Personally I think they have the best selection in Dublin. I mean, they have a special counter just for Bleu cheeses, how brilliant is that? I have found the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable, their prices are very reasonable, and finding them is very easy as they are located right off Grafton Street. If you are looking for a proper cheesemonger, this is where you want to go.

Zachary S.

Yelp
Since moving to the Netherlands I have turned into a complete cheese addict, so now when traveling I search out the best cheese shops in each town, this one I happened to already know all too well. I love this tiny cheese shop, lots of interesting local cheeses, and some of the best cheese from around europe and other treats.

Steve D.

Yelp
Simply the best. Great selection of top quality cheeses, great service. Cheese paradise. Taste before you buy, then buy as little or as much as you like, they cut it right off the cheese wheel.

Jennie C.

Yelp
This place can get a little cramped but the staff are friendly and they try to help everyone out, even when the shop is too full to properly navigate. They offer samples if you need them and suggestions if you want them! They also carry crackers, olives, and even bacon spread! Everything you need to enjoy your yummy cheeses.

Dani B.

Yelp
Stepping into Sheridan's transports me back to a time when you didn't get your cheese in a supermarket but went to a specialist shop, where the staff knew what they were talking about and every cheese had a distinct taste... I love cheese! There is nothing better than cheese and crackers with a nice bottle of red... well, not a lot of things I mean. And what's great about Sheridan's is that you can also get cured and smoked meats here- they do some fantastic salami. Even though the shop is great, you can also drop by the cheese stall at the Temple Bar food market on Saturdays...

Sam S.

Yelp
Accidentally discovered this shop whilst looking for an optician and loved it. Great selection of cheeses and very friendly service. They also have a nice selection of cold meats and I will defenitely be back again and again to sample and buy some delicious cheese here.

Qype User (linger…)

Yelp
Oh my god, I LOVE cheese. This place truly is a cheese lovers paradise. They have everything from brie, to stilton. Camembert to feta.. the list goes on.. They give you tips on choosing the right cheese wedding cakes and do gift hampers - amazing - and even tell you how to care for your cheese. You can also join the 'Cheese club' (I know, right? :D), where for €35 a month they will send you a selection of 3 of the ripest cheeses and send them to you whether at home or at work! Talk about a great gift for someone! They also have a selection of wines because obviously they go hand-in-hand for cheese tasting and vice versa. Just thinking about it is making me crave - must go back soon!

Qype User (Monkey…)

Yelp
Grafton Street and its surrounding area is brilliant for independent shops, once you look past past the mobile phone and fast food places. Sheridan's Cheese Mongers on South Anne Street does exactly what it says on the tin - it mongers the cheese. Stepping inside is like entering Willy Wonka's factory for a cheese lover. The chilled rooms are filled with giant wheels of cheese in all sizes and types, just crying out to be eaten. The staff know their stuff and are happy to dispense any cheese advise that you might need. They will also let you sample anything before you buy! Cows cheeses, goats cheeses, sheeps cheeses, reindeer cheeses (okay I made that last one up) they are all here to remind you that Ireland does a wonderful line in cheeses - including some particularly marvellous goats cheeses and blue cheeses. Don't forget to buy some Oat cakes as well!

Qype User (eluisa…)

Yelp
Bought a special hamper selection for my boss and his family there this Christmas, the staff inside were so helpful and I really enjoyed shopping there. Will definitely go back for more cheese and pate when prezzies are needed. highly reccomended!

Marie M.

Yelp
What a wonderful place. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the selection was stellar. I ended up with a pyramid of Triskel Ash, which was so delicious.
