My saleswoma was Mimi D. I found her to be very knowledgeable about the product I purchased. She listened to what I wanted and didn't want and showed me the right mattress and frame for me. It's not very often that I encounter salespeople that listen to their customers. Mimi is truly an asset to your company. If I were Paul Sherman, I'd do everything to keep her. When it comes time for me to make another large purchase, I will see Mimi and purchase from her/Sherman's.

I had never visited Sherman's, but have heard good things about them so when my dishwasher died I thought I would make a trip. The salesman Josh, was knowledgeable and helpful and I made my purchase quickly and efficiently. Though the delivery and installation had to be scheduled later than normal, it worked for me in this case. Two very nice young men came to my house on the day agreed, removed my old dishwasher, and installed the new one. My questions were answered and everything is working beautifully. I was advised that if there were any questions or had any problem, no matter how small, to call and a technician would be out to take care of my dishwasher. This brings me great peace of mind since everything they have promised so far has been delivered upon to my satisfaction. I am extremely happy with my new dishwasher installation.

Our refrigerator stopped cooling on Thanksgiving Eve. Fortunately the temperature dropped and we were able to store our food in coolers on the front porch :) We headed to Sherman’s on Black Friday. Our salesperson Seth was very personable and helpful. We were able to select a new refrigerator quickly, and it was delivered the next morning in the midst of a major snowstorm!

Well, I thought I had posted this when we ordered our furniture. I guess not. I guess I will update this at the bottom. We’ve gotten two couches before at Sherman’s and have been very pleased every time. Everyone there is so helpful, professional and friendly but not pushy. I had been a couple weeks ago to “look around”. Today when we went in Laura recognized me and offered to help us. We went in looking for something like we have now (without the broken down cushions and stains after 13 years) that would fit in our living room. She helped us find just what we wanted and she even found the fabric that was just perfect! Thank you Laura, for not thinking we were crazy for getting the same sectional we have now. (yep, seriously) I can’t wait to see the newer brighter fabric. Thank you for all of your help. Update: our furniture came in a lot sooner than we thought. Well, maybe a week before they said it could which was great originally, we did not vote for delivery or sorry choose delivery when we had been informed that the furniture arrived the “we can do it!” Became a lot less appealing it involves moving our own sectional downstairs and bringing the new one up the split level stairs, so I actually called Sherman‘s on Tuesday and wanted to ask about maybe getting it delivered instead thinking it would be next week, it was delivered this morning on Friday so thank you so much Shermans for that . Now, the two young men that delivered it this morning, Carlos and Anthron, were wonderful. Friendly professional, polite, fun totally great experience.Thank you gentlemen, you rock!

We purchased a small mattress on Sunday and were promised a delivery on Tuesday. We are expecting company and seriously needed the new mattress. We waited until the early afternoon to call and get a confirmation. However when talking to the delivery dispatcher we were told not to expect delivery until Thursday! We are very disappointed to say the least.

TL/DR: they sold us a mattress that negatively impacted my young daughter's health so is absolutely unusable and will do nothing about it. Absolutely abysmal customer service. Sold us a mattress that has been off-gassing for over 6 months. The amount of VOCs released was so high my daughter's health was impacted and she couldn't breathe. We hired a mold expert (who confirmed it wasn't mold and suspected off-gassing) for $150 then paid $50 for an air quality monitor that could confirm this suspicion. Sherman's has refused to get back to us, has given us the run around for months and finally told us there is nothing they will do.

Do not purchase an appliance from Sherman's. We have bought from them for years but now their service is beyond terrible. We have beeping coming from our fridge and it will not stop even when unplugged. They have told us they can come out in seven days. No lie. They are serious. Beware.

Sold me a refrigerator that had a blown condenser. Took 3 days to replace it after I went back in and spent more money on a replacement. I lost hundreds of dollars of food through no fault of my own, and despite there "guarantee" of food loss reimbursement I never saw a dime. Don't shop here.

We got a dryer delivered. One of the guys smelled like weed and came in our house and immediately used our bathroom. I work with salespeople and it's a no no to use the customers bathroom. They also didn't deliver the vent. He said he would deliver it the next day. Didn't do that either. Now we are spending our Satuday trying to locate it from the warehouse center. I wish people would do their jobs and do it well.​

bought a brand new fridge three days ago with the five-year warranty when it was delivered and installed it had a bench hinge now Sherman says that they can't " give us an appointment time" for their technicians to come out we just have to takeoff work and be here from 9 AM till 3 PM to wait on them. It's just so frustrating!

It is a large warehouse where you go up to the second floor to start shopping. I bumped into the cleaner in the elevator and he was very friendly. He showed how to get to the location, indicating to follow the red path for the entrance. It is a huge place with a dishwasher, couches, desks, fridges, and more. Items are in new or like-new condition and prices are decent.

Literally the worst service I have ever experienced in my 51 years. Bought a brand new LG refrigerator and Dishwasher as part of our remodel. They were both supposed to be delivered same day so my wife took off work. They don't give you a timeframe, just a day. Refrigerator showed up at 4pm on a Friday...installed and scratched our brand new floor....most unprofessional people ever. They leave and they go to get water out of fridge and there is a hole in the water line on the fridge and water spraying everywhere......still don't have a resolution 5 days later. We called at 5 about dishwasher as it had not showed up. The technician fell in dog poop and would not make it that day (seriously the story). Came on Saturday morning and was a very nice guy who did a good job of installing and communicating. Fast forward to Monday evening, we run the dishwasher for the first time and wake up to water all over our new floors. Finally speak with someone at Service and they might be able to get here by Friday. Worst buying/service experience ever...we are going to try and get refund and never use this business again. We always want to support local but clearly they do not put any value on that philosophy.

It does NOT matter what you buy or how much you spend (we spent a lot) their furniture has only a one year warranty. You can not buy an extended warranty except at time of sale (per the service manager Courtney)! If it breaks and gets fixed in that warranty time they only warranty the part for 30 days and will NOT help you to get it fixed! So now it's $700+ to fix an 2 month old part!!! Worst policy and customer service! Shop elsewhere!

Unbelievable delivery. I purchased a Profile stove, microwave and refrigerator. Refrigerator came today. Crew was rude and unprofessional. Water supply was leaking and they said not their responsibility. Also one said the old was not unloaded. I told them they were two hours early and didn't want food to set out. They were put off by my frustration and while I was in the basement tending to the leak they left. Installation was not complete as was still out in the kitchen. Was pushed back as far as they could and instead of lowering the casters they left it as-is. I couldn't even open the doors above the refrigerator. I called the cell three times until the lead guy answered. I said the installation was not complete and they said it was and literally hung up on me. I called customer service and sat in hold so long I left a message. They are sending a manager to complete. DO NOT BUY from Sherman's. .

I had to try and get our dryer serviced. Called, left a message and was never called back even though the recording stated they promised someone would call back before leaving that day. Called the next day and could not get anyone to the telephone. I understand when businesses and service people are overwhelmed with work, but it is horrible service and a call back telling a customer that they are just too busy is only courteous. This is not the first problem I've had with Sherman's, either.

I bought a new dishwasher. They broke my countertop installing it and I understood that mistakes happen. Upon reinstalling it after the countertop was replaced, it dumped water downstairs ruining a ceiling and wall. Then the dishwasher wouldn't even work and is now out of warranty. They don't care. I've never had such a poor experience with a company.

Sales and service were excellent. Did not feel rushed to make a decision. Was giving valuable information in making good decisions regarding our extensive purchases. They carried all the brands we preferred, eased the selection process. After a call to service/install manager, the Installation process went very well. Made quick adjustments as needed. As I compared with competitors, they had great value. So far, we are very pleased with our GE appliances. I will plan to buy there again.

Sadly, our first two experiences with Sherman's were pretty good, so it made the last (ever, since we're never going back) experience all that much more disappointing. We purchased some electronics about 4 years ago, those are fine, then we made another couple of large purchases 3 years ago: A fridge, washer, dryer, and dishwasher. Over $5k if I recall. All around the same time, the ice maker on the fridge, the dishwasher, and the dryer shut down on us. I basically have two oversized lumps of metal, and one fridge that only half works. I called today to find out about what kind of warranty we had, and the person who took my call, without even asking my name, phone number, address, etc. said "Nope, you have no warranty on any of your appliances any more." That was it. Apparently, she'd looked up my info based on caller ID, which I get, but it was a very abrupt way to tell someone "You threw away your $5k when you shopped with us." No other information to share with me, didn't say "We do have service or let me get you a manager" nothing. Just "Sorry, you're out of luck." I mean, yuck. That is possibly the worst customer service we've ever had. So, we have to purchase a new dishwasher, a new dryer, get service on our fridge, and next year we're purchasing a new living room set and we need a new bed for our son. NONE of those purchases are going to Shermans, due to their terrible customer service.

I went to the Peoria store on July 1st 2019 needing a new refrigerator. Spent just over $3k on new fridge and got one delivered the next day that looks like it lost a fight to a UFC fighter. Customer support told me the morning of delivery "we know the doors are dented but we have already ordered new doors for you, they should arrive soon!" Now its been 4 months and I still don't have new doors! They call every 2 weeks or so and apologize and say it'll be a little longer, but this is ridiculous! I did not buy one of the "scratch and dent" units that have a discounted price but I'm certain that's what they delivered me. I'm extremely disappointed in Shermans after this experience.

Recently just purchased an England couch from the Sherman store. We were informed that the couch could not get delivered to the Chicago area which was not a big deal at first. After setting up the delivery and installing the couch, the brackets of the the chaise piece did not line up correctly and after multiple attempts to fix it ourselves we finally gave up and contacted what they call their "customer service". All they could do was put the blame on "you are out of our service area" and for US "to contact the manufacturing company" to come out to fix the sofa. Sherman's is just a middle man and I would strongly advise against purchasing something that would need to be special ordered since they obviously wont help out if something goes wrong. If I paid IKEA prices I would expect this type of service, however I did not.

Place was good at 1st. I worked there when covid hit (2019). Paul and his minons slaved us to death. 10 to 15 hour a day, would clock in at 6:45am and sometimes get off at 9pm. I think I clocked out at midnight even and 10pm and 9pm, it didn't matter what time it was. Everyone else WHO DIDN'T work in delivery was off and enjoying time with family and friends, while Paul had us out till the we hours of the evening EVEN THE NEXT MORNING. Management was always a joke. Always giving the easier routes to there homies so they were off earlier then others. Anything to save there butts from hearing from Paul and not having to work hard and bark orders to others. Paul would always brag about how much money that would come in over holiday event sales and how hard the delivery team worked in morning meetings. (Yah if it wasn't for us delivery people with 8 to 10 trucks going out his company wouldn't be anything.) Like cheap ashley furniture and bedding. Talking about cheap, Paul had a employee party at some park and he ordered Avantis gondolas, can we get anything cheaper when dude claims his delivery team is bring in millions. Good luck to anyone that applies there. I saw so many people quit or couldn't handle the BS. Pros Free breakfast when hired Cons Long hours, no appreciation, making some1 elses investments larger

I have been waiting for refrigerator doors for 6 months that were damaged by Sherman's service technicians. Twice now they have scheduled a day to come and replace them only to receive a call stating that they made a mistake...the doors are not in. I do not understand how this happens. No answers, just get excuses. The damage that was done was done by service technicians from Shermans. I expected better from this company. I do not recommend Sherman's and will not ever shop there again. Very disappointing.

bought a fridge Thursday going to be delivered Saturday got a phone call Saturday from the warehouse they don't have that fridge in stock. went back to Shermans and talked to the salesman and the manager and the said they will make it right. went home and got a call they found our fridge in the warehouse will deliver it Sunday. got a call Sunday the truck broke down and will deliver it Wednesday I said don't worry about it I am canceling my order.

Unfortunately, I can not recommend Sherman's for appliances or at least the install. While installing the over the range microwave they did not ask my parents to move the fridge nor did the installers move the fridge. They installed the microwave as my mom was in the other room and left immediately. No conversation was had prior to them departing. When she walked into her kitchen it was discovered they put deep scratches into the side of her brand new refrigerator. Keep in mind these scratches are not covered by the microwave or stove. In calling customer service she was informed that is not covered by warranty, the installers already sent a picture to Sherman's, but never told my parents. Sherman's offered my parents $250. Seriously!! This is a brand new refrigerator that has been damaged by your installers. Your slogan says "Respecting you and your home is how we make sure you're really happy you choose Sherman's". This slogan does not represent anything that was shown to my parents and their home and new appliances this weekend! You need to do better.

***FRAUD ALERT*** This place is a scam, they take your money and then do not deliver. DO NOT BUY HERE!! I paid $1549 to have a cloths dryer delivered. Their adds promise "NEXT DAY DELIVERY" I have taken four days off from work over a two week period for it to be delivered. THEY NEVER DELIVERED IT!!! Twice they said they would refund my $150 delivery fee and took my credit card info - the refund has not happened. Very sketchy. GO ANYWHERE ELSE - worst customer service ever.

November 2021: purchased full suite including refrigerator October 2022: Less than one calendar year from time of purchase, refrigerator deemed unrepairable thus needed to be replaced ~November 2022: Sherman's states they're waiting for the manufacturer to process the information ~December 2022: Sherman's states they're waiting for the manufacturer to process the information. I requested to be included in the email communication as I needed to ensure the appropriate information was being relayed. I was told no because that's internal communication only and I was not privy to. ~February 2023: Janet (who I assume is new) took my call. She too stated that she would escalate internally which created concern of trust because as you've just read in the ~January update and can tell with my ~February update, nothing was actually accomplished. I communicated to Janet that would be calling back and requesting an update on the escalation because I didn't trust the escalation to take place. She DID call back which I thanked her for and let her know that she has provided the best post sales customer experience I've had to date. She was able to get the information to the manufacturer escalated and created a resolution which consisted of the processing of the new refrigerator. ~March 2023: We entered your store to pick a new one and ultimately chose to go with the same one due to us not wanting to "leave money on the table" nor pay additional money.. You had one of your sales reps call me on Monday as that was going to be your day off. He indicated that what we wanted would be delivered by the end of the week. April 6th 2023: Received communication that someone would contact me within 1-2 business days to set up delivery.. That never occurred. April 15th 2023: I called your distribution center requesting a date by which I could expect delivery. She indicated that I could set that up with her which I did for today. I asked her what would have occurred had I not called which she essentially indicated that no one would have called because we were a replacement, not a net new.. April 17th 2023: delivery day.. I cleaned out my refrigerator. Your delivery men arrived around 1230 and indicated that because my refrigerator wasn't sitting outside, they were unable to take it. They also couldn't install the new one because I hadn't paid the $150. Janet had done her due diligence to inform me of the $150 which I was frustrated about but was willing to pay though no one charged me. No one communicated the need to have my old refrigerator sitting outside or at the very least, unplugged. So now, I have a lovely refrigerator in a box in my garage I can't use and an empty one in my kitchen that's been broken for longer than it's been working. I called your store as you can imagine, pretty frustrated.. I spoke to Jim who instead of addressing the issue, chose to send my call to Janet who then told me her manager Claudia was getting ready to go to lunch so I would need to wait until she came back from lunch to receive a call back.

I purchased a new home last year and the ice maker did not work in the SubZero refrigerator. Shermans came several times to look/adjust it but it never worked. I was told to call a plumber which I did and the water line was fine. Finally, they suggested we buy a new icemaker. It was installed and worked for a few months and now is not working again. I called for them to come and look at it again and was told that would be $200 plus parts and labor. They only guarantee their products/installation for 30 days!! So I was sold a defective ice maker and they will not stand by their products. I am a business owner and this is no way to run a business. They could have least said they would look at it and determine what is wrong with it and go from that. Will Never do business there again.

We purchased 3 rooms of furniture with Sherman's and had issues with every set upon delivery. The first set had damage to the legs that required replacement parts and repair. The second set that was delivered was not correctly put together by the delivery team and required a repair person to come out and fix it too. Additionally while unpacking the bottom of one piece of furniture was cut with a knife which appears to be from the unwrapping of the furniture. The third set of furniture was for the basement. Upon delivery, the delivery team was unable to get the furniture to the basement but damaged the stairway walls and banisters while attempting to do so. Not small damage, but holes in the walls and demolishing my banisters. The scratches and indentions on the wall look like vandalism took place. After several conversations and many visits to my home to review the damage, Sherman's agreed to repair the damage with their in-house contractors who made several attempts and themselves agreed that they were unable to complete the job satisfactorily. I was then promised that they would hire an outside contractor for the work. After weeks of not hearing from anyone we placed a call and were told they apologized for dropping the ball and would get on it. A few more weeks go by and my husband call to inquire about the status and was told they thought we were hiring the contractor. We are now nearly 2 months post damage and nothing has been repaired. We take the initiative to secure a contractor who submitted a quote and was told that the quote was feasible and additional information was needed from the contractor. Sherman's advised that I work with the contractor to get the NEW information they were not requesting. Let's just pause here to say that between my husband and I we have taken several hours off work to be here to accommodate the several repair visits over the past 2 months with two visits taking more than 4 hours. It was originally stated by Sherman's representatives (reps and managers) that Sherman's would be responsible for the cost to repair the banister and walls that included painting. It's only TODAY that I learn that they WILL NOT repair the wall damage due to them waiving the cost of breaking down one piece of the basement furniture to get it downstairs. That was never the agreement and how dare they to even consider charging me with all the issues I experienced after spending nearly $15K with them. I should have known this would not turn out well when the service reps who came to my home for the repairs spoke poorly about their own delivery team. When you have your own team members speaking badly of their own colleagues this is a red flag about the company overall. I can't tell you how many times customer service had a breakdown in communication and conversations that took place and agreements that were made were never documented. Every time we spoke with someone, we had to tell the story from the beginning. My lasting hope was a very nice service repair gentleman named Marty who felt so bad for the service we received that he offered to come and make repairs on his own time. As of today, I'm told that the damage he saw and the conversations he agreed to for repairs no longer exist and now he's siding with customer service. I'm beyond disappointed in my experience (first-time customer) and only agreed to shop here based on a referral from my interior designer whom I've shared my experience and pictures in hopes that she doesn't refer another client to shop with this company. I hope that you too will think twice before shopping here.

I did not want to write this review but after several calls, several appointments that service did not show up, I feel I have to warn others about Sherman's repair department. My daughter bought a new GE profile washer and dryer on 11/17 for approximately 1,600.00. The dryer has not worked since it was delivered and is still not repaired 19 days later. This is unacceptable! I understand things happen but when a service man has already ordered parts and they have been in stock at the repair store, they should be put at the front of the line to be repaired. They have failed to show up with no calls twice. They were supposed to come today 12/6 but didn't show up. She was told yesterday that they would be at her home today. My daughter called and they said no you are not scheduled for another week! After she expressed her disappointment in their service they are supposed to come tomorrow (12/07) hopefully they will show up. I don't know about you, but I think they should hire a new repair service and replace my brand new dryer that has never worked! So disappointed.

My public review below: Horrible experience with the repair team and customer service. After spending $600 to repair my fridge and having Sherman's out no less than 5 times over the course of 2 months, I have been left with a non-working fridge and a completely miserable customer service experience for a customer who has used Sherman's for nearly 10 years. The fridge worked for a matter of hours after each repair, but Sherman's has refused to offer any type of a credit towards a new fridge citing the parts have been in the unit for longer than 30 days. Despite the fact that I called multiple times within those thirty days to report the fridge not working, and despite the fact that the slow pace of repairs was due to Sherman's scheduling issues which takes weeks in between appointments. The customer service manager was a poor listener and did not show any understanding for our situation. She promised me a call back yesterday, no call has been returned. Additionally, I have zero confidence in the repair technicians and suspect they were randomly replacing parts without any idea what was really wrong. We even asked them if we should just get a new fridge at the beginning of the service and they suggested we repair it. On the 5th visit from Sherman's, they suggested another $400 repair. Ordered a new fridge from Lowes today and really happy with the experience there. Do not support this company; they do not care about their customers even after years of loyalty and spending thousands (my family purchased a Sub-Zero fridge, Miele Coffee Machine, Wolf Oven and much more) at Sherman's. So disappointing. Would've bought my new fridge from them as well as a dishwasher, washer, drier and other appliances but they have lost my business. Lowes was quite a bit cheaper for the Kitchen Aid fridge we just bought, they also offer free delivery. what a rip off. I bought in good faith, with cash, a gas dryer. took it home, wife didn't like it. these scum buckets will refund my money (less than 12 hours after purchase) for 25% restock fee. PLUS I paid in cash. refund is given in mailed check only. Scum scum scum, what a bunch of scum. 2 stars for clean restrooms at warehouse. scum.

They lied several times didn't deliver when they said after waiting over 3 weeks and them proceeded to make me wait a day to get my cash back even though I paid in cash. Went to lowes for the exact same thing 600 bucks cheaper !

I moved into my home 4 years ago and purchased appliances and bedding from Sherman's. I support all local businesses when I can. I am so disappointed by this last purchase of 2500.00 of kitchen appliances. I know Covid-19 played a major role in me waiting on a refrigerator from September 26 through December 23rd when it was delivered. No one contacted me that I could purchase another model refrigerator. I hear an ad on TV and Radio about "Big Stuff" items available. I go to the website and pull up 3 models. I go into Sherman's and show the 3 models I found to sales associate. He pulls them up and says yes these are in stock. I was offered no discount for inconvenience and found my own replacement. Then, technician comes out to install dishwasher. My garbage disposal doesn't work as my disclaimer hasn't since I've been here. Some how there was water backed up in pipes so he needed to cut the water off. He asked me where was the main cut-off, I stated i didn't know exactly. So he cut off the hot water from my water tank. When he turned the water back on he didn't open the lines after being off. This was on December 23rd. December 31st I had a small drip from the hot water tank and my face to my furnace is on the floor. The last person in that room was the technician. I have pictures of all of this I'm writing. I could not make this off. January 1st, New Years Day I have hot water running from the tank and had to shut the hot water off! The next day I call and complain to Sherman's salesman. Meanwhile I run to Home Depot to purchase a new hot water heater. Then the technician was told to come over to find out what happened and what I was expecting. I stated if Sherman's would cover half the cost of my heater I would call my whole experience a wash! He said that should be fair. He offered to install or replace the valve on the old tank. My point is that if he asked about the cut-off then maybe that's what should've been done. I think cutting off the hot water caused my hot water heater to break down faster. So get this, customer service calls back finally before they closed. They got his story and mine and decided he was not at faught but would have someone call me on Monday to discuss further. Okay it is 12:10 am January 6, still no call from Sherman's. What would you do?? Are they responsible or not? Good customer service or not?

DO NOT BUY AN APPLIANCE FROM SHERMANS! We purchased a washer and a dryer from here over the summer. Despite buying them used, we were told that they would work as promised. Less than 4 months later the washing machine completely breaks down. That was in October now it is December and our washing machine is still not fixed. It's taken WEEKS for repairmen to come out and have just informed us it will be another month. Another friend of ours has had a similar issue as well after purchasing a washing machine from Shermans. Save your time and money go somewhere else. Extremely disappointed. We love supporting local businesses but we will absolutely NEVER buy anything from here again after the horrible experience we have had.

I bought a box spring, mattress, and frame online from them. They have a next day delivery policy. They called the next day and said our delivery would be between 7p and 9p which I thought 9 pm was kind of late but ok. at 9 pm there was nothing. no delivery, no phone call. I live in a gated community and I called the gate and told them if they showed up to turn them away because I was going to bed. They came apparently at 930pm and were turned away. So were we put on the list for next day? Nope! I wasn't put on any list at all, not for the next day, nest week or next year. I left 2 messages to call me back. Nada. I did finally call and wait on perpetual hold and finally got to talk to a human who said they could put me on the list but it was currently full. I cancelled for a refund as this is not the first bad experience I have had with them. But the first was a long time ago so I thought I would give them a chance. Never again!

We purchased a sectional sofa from Shermans about eight months ago for approximately $5,000. Two months ago, I called to see if someone would come out and look at it since the back pillows were compacting and it looked terrible. They called me back and asked for pictures. Sent the pictures, then they called me back to say that a technician would call to set up an appointment to come look at the sofa. Never heard a word. Fast forward two months. I called customer service to say I never got a call from the technician. They looked in their records and said it was not a serviceable item so they closed the file. Didn't tell me though. After talking with the customer service person, she told me I could buy some filling and put it in myself. If I could "fix" the problem, then why is this not a serviceable item? Oh, they could fix it for a charge!!!!! Not acceptable!!!!!! Tried to get a manager. It's impossible. Have several calls in for a higher up to contact me. So far, no calls! Where's Paul when it comes to service? They have not heard the last of me. I'll keep you posted . . .

Sherman's does not stand by any customer service claims That they make in their marketing. It's been their marketing for years and I can give 4 different examples of when they would not service the appliances we bought without issue. Today it was on a stove I bought 15 months ago that never worked properly and they told us it's out of warranty. It is releasing CO2. They were our only option to buy during Covid, but I will never ever purchase another appliance again from them.

Sherman's has good prices on most of their stock. However, their service is not so good. We recently purchased a new bed at the Sherman's in Bloomington, Illinois. The two guys that delivered the bed may have slept through their training, or Paul just doesn't provide good service. When the bed was delivered, the guys setting it up didn't waste any time slapping it together. In fact, they didn't even remove all of the packing materials from under the bed. Nor did they tell us that the bed height could be adjusted in three inch increments. They left that part out so they could just put the new bed frame over our old bed frame so they wouldn't have to deal with setting up our existing headboard. Fast and easy! Well the real reason they didn't deal with the headboard may have been that they had no way to connect the frame to the headboard. The directions that came with the bed clearly show that they do make the brackets to connect the two, we just didn't have any. When I contacted Sherman's their service department told me they would order the brackets and get them to me. I'm still waiting, it's been several weeks. The holidays can't be used as an excuse. Why not? Because when I got tired of waiting for Sherman's to deliver their promise I called the company that makes the bed frame. That was about four days before Christmas and they delivered the brackets to my house in two days. Now that's service!!! I found out today why the guys rush in with the bed and slap it together and vanish as quick as they can. It took me most of this afternoon to put the headboard on. My advise to Sherman's is to deliver the goods with all of the pieces. Take your time properly setting up the merchandise. Keep your promise in a timely manner when things go south. Training is key. My advise to the consumer. Price isn't everything!

So I've waited for quite sometime before writing this but every time I cook which is daily I get so pissed off about the appliances I purchased at Sherman's. I went in to the Glen Avenue Store to buy all new updated appliances wanting to buy the best no budget. I got the worst appliances I have ever owned if they had had a salesman with any knowledge at all they could have sold me anything but the salesman I had was more clueless than I was I should have done my homework instead of relying on them for at the least decent appliances instead I came away with sub standard junk I hate everything I purchased especially my kitchen aid stove top, and double oven (whirlpool). Hard lesson won't happen again at least not there.

I needed a dryer for a Business ,ASAP. So I called Sherman's mostly because of their add on TV "order by tonight get it tomorrow." I placed an order Wednesday morning .Then the sales person tells me it can't be delivered until Friday. I asked what about the add on TV? He said "Oh, we had to pull that add. "That's interesting because I saw it play again Friday night! As for the Friday morning delivery I was called and told they would be coming anywhere from 4pm-6pm. I asked if he would call me when he was on his way over. I told him I was in East Peoria and could be there in Peoria in 15 minutes. He said ok. Just after 4pm he calls and says they are at the building! He claimed he didn't know he was to call. They had another delivery to make and they'd be back. So I rushed over there. Then after they put the dryer inside I asked if they could take it out of the box?" Nope it's a drop off" Another issue with this company I would have to wait for another week before they had someone to hook up the dryer. I had to find someone else to do it. I will not use Sherman's again ever.

The sales staff was good at his information, but didn't give us our $50 discount that we had. The delivery has been a nightmare! The delivery time was set at 10:30-12:30, I called the store when they weren't here at 2:00 and was told that the delivery time was actually 8:00-10:00 p.m. The delivery crew arrived at the end of our lane at +/- 8:30 and said that they could not back down our lane in the dark and that we would have to reschedule. I got a call the next day and was informed that our delivery time was actually 10:00 p.m.-Midnight! They could possibly reschedule us in four days for delivery. This is crazy!!! Who every heard of getting a washer and dryer delivered between 10:00 p.m.-Midnight!!!

I purchased a dryer from shermans a few months ago. I have never been treated so poorly by the delivery staff who started by cussing and yelling at me because of the location of my house on the court. They then destroyed my flooring after pushing the dryer down the hallway and broke my blinds on the door. When the dryer didn't work properly, I asked for it to be taken with them which led to them cussing more. I had to return to peoria to select a new dryer and was told it was going to be delivered the following day which didn't happen either. I was told it had been accidentally marked for pick up but it could be delivered the next business day instead. I pointed out that I would be working as most adults do during traditional business hours. Sadly, I suspect if I had been male it wouldn't have been assumed that I would be available and at home. I did finally receive a working dryer and after a lot of phones calls; I received a small discount but never received the gift card in the mail that was promised to me. After more phone calls they finally agreed to pay for my flooring to be replaced. I was told by customer service I could pay for the flooring and then they would reimburse me which I declined. Considering that I have been waiting months for the gift card to arrive in the mail i highly recommend others to make the company pay for repairs directly. Based on the first set of delivery guys there will be many more customers with damages to their homes. Buyers beware

Our range was delivered by several employees. They all agreed that it came with the wrong parts so it would not sit level. They called right away to report this and took pictures. They said someone would contact me asap to come out and fix the issue. After a couple of days, I called to see when they were coming. They had not ordered the parts yet. A few days later they scheduled someone to come out. Of course you find out when someone is coming out the night before and they give you a lengthy windows of time that they will arrive. So one of us took off of work to wait the next day. He showed up and told us he didn't have the parts. I called Sherman's and they said they would order the parts. They rescheduled, we took off of work and they sent the same guy who said he had no idea how to fix it. At this point we have taken 2 days off of work and they still can't fix it! So I called Sherman's and they said h they guy was new and didn't know how to level it. Why send him twice? So they actually sent him back again with a supervisor who was supposed to watch him do it so he could learn. (Day 3 off of work for us). The supervisor briefly came in and then proceeded to sit in his car the rest of the time. It's still not level. We will never purchase from Sherman's again!!!

We've purchased a few things from Sherman's and we've always been very happy with them. Just wanted to post a review on our most recent transaction. We purchased a bed for our son, the same bed we have but in a smaller size. We were told it would take 6-8 weeks but it came in just under 4 weeks. The delivery guys called early in the day with a 2 hour delivery window. And then they called back to see if they could move us up (due to a cancellation), which actually worked better for us. The delivery guys were professional, respectful of our home, and did a great job of putting the bed together. I prefer to stay out of their way so I didn't look at the bed until after they left. NOT what we had ordered. I called in and spoke to someone, they said they would let our salesperson know. I wanted to make sure the message got to him so I also sent him an email explaining the situation and included a picture of the (cheaper) bed we received. I received a response back within 5 minutes. No "I ordered what you told me to order." No "What you want is more expensive, you'll have to come in and pay the difference." Not even an "I don't know what happened!" Instead what I got was basically "I'm sorry for MY mistake. I'm ordering what you wanted today and will deliver it at no cost when it comes in. In the meantime, go ahead and use the bed we delivered today." Disappointed my son didn't get his bed today but Sherman's, as always, has exceeded our expectations and handled this in the best way possible.

We were recently in a pinch and needed a 24" refrigerator for a property in Peoria and we needed it quickly. Decided to take a chance and hit the Sherman's warehouse in the Heights. My wife dealt with Justin. They had almost exactly what we needed and were able to offer it at a very good price. Once we discussed, we phoned Justin and he took care of all of our paperwork by phone - informed us that our item would be at dock door ready for pickup. When I arrived, true to his word Justin had the refrigerator ready to go - grabbed a coworker and loaded it in my truck. Way to go Justin- this kind of customer service is not that common any more. We will be back!

I Would strongly recommend not using Shermans for appliance repair. I tried to get a washer repaired through a Frigidaire warranty. Frigidaire sent them a workorder. Frigidaire confirmed a Wednesday appointment with Sherman. I was asked by Frigidaire to call Sherman and confirm the appointment Sherman claimed they have never received the work order I called Frigidaire back Frigidaire resent the work order several times called Sherman and verified they got it but it turns out that Sherman simply refused it. It leaves me with no way to get my washer repaired fir 2 weeks. Frigidaire tried to call them to find out what the problem was and they refuse all calls now.

My wife went to Shermans clearance center on Friday, February, 22nd looking to purchase a washer and dryer. She found a washer (Maytag 5.2 with delay wash- delay wash was a feature she definitely wanted on the unit. She also found a GE electric dryer. She made a down payment that evening on the units. On Monday, February 25th we both went to the main store on Glen to make final payment and set up delivery. Delivery was set up for Tuesday, February 26th. When the delivery truck arrived, one of the gentlemen told me there was something wrong with the washing machine and they would have to return it. I told them to take the dryer back too since we weren't getting the washing machine. I talked to customer service and told them of the situation. Customer service informed me there was not another washing machine available in the brand, size, or features. She refunded our account with Shermans and also told me she had talked to the sales department in appliances to make them aware of what took place and that we would be coming to the store that evening. Upon arriving at the store, the sales department told us all they could do was give us a new washer for basically the price of the washer we had purchased at the clearance center. The washer they showed us was just a basic washer ( smaller in cubic feet, with no delay wash option). In otherwords, in our opinion, Shermans was not willing to spend any extra out of their pocket to correct the situation. They were just going to give us a new washer with the same dryer we purchased so that the price of both was the same as what we had spent. Disappointed that Shermans would not spend a few extra dollars to rectify the situation and keep as a customer. Also, we had asked for a time for delivery if we did purchase a unit and they told us the best they could do was give us a 2 hour window for delivery. Seemed to us they could have put us as the first stop of the day. The only positive I have to say is the delivery gentlemen were very professional and did everything we asked. Needless to say we asked for a full refund and went elsewhere to shop for a washer and dryer. We felt Shermans treated us the same as the big box stores would have treated us. Not impressed with a family owned business.

I bought some furniture in June. In 2 days it will be January. Still haven't received the couch Three times I have been told that it was shipped. Still hasn't arrived. Sherman's doesn't seem to care. In the past I have always purchased furniture and appliances from Sherman's. Previously had issues with appliances and the warranty no longer being covered since they stopped doing business with the company who was servicing the warranty. However since i try to shop locally I still purchased from Sherman's. Last time though. Customer service couldn't care less that I have been waiting for months. At the time of purchase I was told that due to Covid it would be 4-6 weeks. Since then i have purchased 2 major appliances and 3 items of furniture elsewhere. All of which were received in a timely manner. A friend of mine replaced a complete living room. No delays. I will never, never do business with Sherman's again. Apparently they work with unreliable suppliers
