Sherry Butt

One of my top two favorite cocktail places in Paris, and so sad to see that they’re closing late March 2025. Stop by while you still can! Great selection of harder to find whiskies, while still having whisky flights accessible to the non-enthusiast. Their ronin has been one of my all time favorite cocktails - Japanese whisky, smoked tea, Pandan Madeira, champagne syrup, etc. And its complexity just keeps evolving, similar to a really high quality whisky. I’ll be sure to follow whatever the owners and bartenders have planned next in their journey!

Lovely bar. Australian waitress was really nice. Atmosphere is awesome (if you don't seat next to the air con system next to the bar which runs in winter time too)

Atmosphere has great a vibe about it when you walk in. It’s dimly lit which sets a nice tone for the music and theme. The mixologists were very friendly despite my having nearly zero French speaking capability. Each drink was wildly different from the next which made having a few of them worth it. If you don’t like it they have no issue making something different for you. For a mixologist made cocktail I find the price very reasonable. Taste, presentation, and pour made these excellent drinks. Only complaint is my pictures don’t do the drinks justice! Will be back on my next trip.

Amazing bar with unique cocktails. The bartenders have a huge variety of their own bitters and syrups. Music is not upbeat or too loud. So better for hanging out with friends over good conger than an upbeat night out.

Popped in for a drink- had the Khalassi. It was sensational. One of the most delightful drinks I have ever had. It's chic inside. I adored the place. Will def come back.

Great local spot for cocktails. Noticed tourists from all over speaking many different languages enjoying cocktails here. Bar tenders are personable enough and the drinks are great! If you’re wanting a cocktail….it’s a must!

Hello! So I'm a glorified bartender: it means that I look a lot at what other bartender do. This one guys is a MACHINE!!! Precise, quick, fast, no wasted movement. Cocktail wise very nice. A lot of Japanese influences in the menù. Very nice whisky options. I felt bad that I left just less than 10 euro tips. But he deserved way more.

Great cocktails. Cozy, semi-dark atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting. One of my favorite cocktail bars with "Vieux Carré".

Great place if you're a bourbon or whiskey person.. Many options! Next time I'm in Paris I'll definitely visit once again!

Can't say enough good things about this place. The service was fabulous, the ambiance was warm and cozy, and the cocktails were AMAZING. You can tell that the mixologists really care about their craft. The prices were pretty decent for a cocktail. We'll be back!

Not too bad of a bar but did like the drinks and music they played here and great that it was close to my Airbnb. I ordered the khalassi drink and boy it was good. I liked that it had the sprinkle of pistachios on top which was a nice touch to the drink and loved that it wasn't too sweet and tasted fruity

The guys that mix the drinks at Sherry Butt create wonderful concoctions that are truly unique and tasty. This is a one of a kind bar in Paris that is welcoming and addicting. My fave is the KAALASI.

Fantastic, unpretentious cocktail bar tucked away down a bit of a side street. We stopped in late so we only had time for one but that one was delicious. The atmosphere is dark and cozy and the servers are very friendly. Other patrons were very nice as well. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Loved this cocktail bar! Tasty drinks and good company. I ordered the pisco. It was so good that I had to get another. The taste was perfect - not too sweet not too sour. Drinks were 13 euro so a little pricy but worth it for the experience! That's actually been on the cheaper side for the cocktails we've had in Paris so far.

Yasssssss Queen! I got a Green Monkki drink. Superb. Brandy in the best way. Then the bartender made me an off the menu creation. Also with brandy. This place is neck and neck with Mabel. Hands down. Def bringing my friend here cause it's a superb spot. Sold.

Such a cozy spot for fantastic drinks! I've had one of the best drinks in my life here, called the Ayurveda. This was a heavenly potion might I add. Done so well. I literally wanted to drink my body weight in it. You can't go wrong with anything. The Ronin was my second favorite! The atmosphere is perfect. Plenty of space in the back as well. Good for groups and dates. Extremly cozy with couches, fireplace, smaller seats, and of course the bar. This is the kind of place that is perfect for chilly nights where you can sink into one of the loveseats, snuggle, enjoy some amazing cocktails and reminisce. In fact, the atmosphere is perfect for any weather, time of day, or occasion! The service is perfect and recommendations are on point. The bar craftsmen are genius at what they do. My GF wanted a twist on something different, and the bar tender made it happen. You will not go wrong with Sherry Butt! Promise!

This place is the bees knees. You get what you pay for and then some. We tried different cocktails and they were super varied, the vibe was so chill, the furniture was on point. This is a great place for a date, the bartender is SO smooth, super chill dude, super well balanced flavors in each cocktail. The MUSIC WAS LIT, I kept shazzaming every song. Honestly would highly recommend this place if you only can go to one bar in Paris.

I fell in love with this bar! All their cocktails are intricately made with so many unique flavors. The bartender definitely takes his time to make each drink a masterpiece. The cocktail that I ordered was so delicious I did not want to finish it! I think I could have had 10 of them! My fiance loved the whiskey drinks here. I would definitely recommend this place. I came from the U.S. and would love to come back.

Every once in a few years, you come along one of those places where everything is just right about the place. This is one of those places. The ambiance is as perfect as can be: as laid back as your own living room, as cool as a high end speak-easy, and as friendly as your local dive bar. The drinks are wonderful and all the bartenders can give you some amazing recommendations. I especially like the spicey mezcal cocktail. It also doesn't hurt that my WiFi from my apartment is at full strength at the bar! Just do me a favor and don't get too loud when you step outside for a cigarette!

Fantastic cocktails and atmosphere! I would highly recommend if you're looking for unique and delicious drinks. The small bites were also delicious (we had the burrata and loved it)

Five stars without a doubt. Feels like the best of well crafted Brooklyn-esque cocktail bars but without the "look at me, I'm so cool" obnoxiousness that Brooklyn practices. A friendly waiter at Les Temps des Cerises, a terrific restaurant that is two minutes away, recommended Sherry Butt as the spot for after dinner cocktails. We will go back again tonight. Excellent liquors and ingredients from around the globe, unique concoctions, friendly and very good looking bartenders (who gave free samples), and a house/Fela/sounds like Erykah Badu DJ mix made for a great night. I had a variation of a pisco sour (chicha sour maybe?) that was very tasty and balanced. I also had a weird sounding vodka plus grapefruit plus champagne plus beet garnish drink that was eclectically excellent. My buddy had a boulevardier along with a bespoke drink that the bartender concocted based on my friend's taste preferences. Both seemed to hit the spot. On our way out, we saw that Sherry Butt had recently been named "best cocktails in Paris" by Time Out. Who am I to argue?

Great little neighborhood bar with an excellent drink menu! The staff was quick and friendly and we were seated right away. Great ambiance with comfy seating, a creative cocktail menu and an awesome vibe. I had a beet drink (I don't even like beets) but it was delicious. We kept talking about coming back during our few days in Paris but never did. Must do in Marais in Paris!

Came here around 1 and they were closing soon so it was pretty empty, but it was also a Tuesday night. Very dark atmosphere and really pretty cocktails, but it is also pretty expensive. Didn't spend much time here and left because they told us they were closing soon.

We walked right past it and didn't even realize! Definitely a hidden gem. My husband is always wanting to try new cocktails so I took him to this place. He had looked up some traditional French cocktails he wanted to try, and the two that he showed the bartender that night were not on the menu. However, the bartender made them and they were delicious! I ordered champagne which was so good, I wish I had written down which kind it was. Romantic, cozy atmosphere. Loved this place.

This is my favorite bar in the marais. They have a nice selection of scotch and whiskey. The bartender takes a big block of ice and will shave it down to make one big ball for your cup depending on what you order, etc. They also have a list of cocktails that are pretty good. Overall, it has a great ambience and is a cool place to hang out and get a drink or two with friends. The waitress is also a pretty cool chick (Eugenia?) from San Diego.

Awesome awesome awesome. Low-lit, intimate atmosphere with very unique hand-crafted cocktails. I used Yelp prior to our trip to try to find neat bars and restaurants like this. Speakeasy style drinks were delicious and intriguing.

This bar couldn't have been more perfect. They were really accommodating, and came up with some amazing drinks. You could easily chill here for hours, trying out different cocktails. It's beautiful, a perfect spot to start or end a night... You won't regret trying this one out.

Our new favorite place to grab a cocktail in Paris. It's small, dark and intimate. The drinks were flavorful and stiff. The waitress spoke English and was super friendly - she made some recommendations and the drinks were on point. Good mix of music playing as well.

4.5 starts This is a soon-to-be huge hit type of place. I'd expect all the cool kids to be chatting it up quite soon. It's located just off the main drag between Bastille and St. Paul metro, but on "the other side of the tracks". They're likely not to get much foot traffic of people walking by, so you have to know where you're going to find this place. It's super cozy and comfy, with lots of little sitting areas with couches and chairs. And they can make a real cocktail. For all you New Yorkers missing your cocktail happy hour, this is a good option. They are pricy, as most cocktails in France are, but good. My friend and I, who each had 2 drinks each plus a small but yummy tapenade, spend about double what we spent on dinner later in the night. It's a good starting place, though, for a relaxing evening with friends.

What a great cocktail bar! The drinks are absolutely delicious, and the staff is really nice and accommodating as well. Shout out to Jon who made some of the best drinks I've ever had! Thanks for a great time, Sherry Butt!

Cool place, dim lights, and good music (Schoolboy Q, Temper Trap, Portishead). Go there early to be seated. 90€ for 5 cocktails and 3 platters. Will come back !

I love that this is on a quieter street: almost a blink and you'll miss it place. Inside is fairly small, with space for maybe three groups in front and two in the back. We didn't have reservations so we had to sit at the bar, but they treated us just as well, getting us iced water as soon as we sat down. The bartender was very helpful with suggestions, but his best was not to make any substitutions to the creative and perfectly executed cocktails. My friends and I all ordered different drinks, and although each had one "iffy"-sounding component, it worked. Prices are too steep for me to be a regular, but it's definitely a treat that I'll come back to for celebrations or bring friends to.

Without hesitation, this was one of the best finds of our recent trip to Paris. It was the only bar or restaurant we went out of our way to visit twice because our experience had been so fantastic. The bar is small and dark (in a good way) and just exudes cool. In addition to the stools at the bar, there are several areas of lounge seating with sofas and leather chairs that make you want to sink right in and stay put for the night. We sat at the bar, however, and are so grateful we did, for it was at the bar that we met Javier (bartender) and Eugenia (cocktail waitress), who totally changed the course of our trip. Not only did they serve up some incredible and tasty cocktails, they actually gave us restaurant recommendations, turned us on to some incredible places we never would have found on our own, and made us feel like old friends who had just stopped in for a visit. Sherry Butt is a don't miss.

My wife and I live in Chicago and we have an amazing array of world class cocktail lounges. Needless to say, when were in Paris last week we had to do some exploring and Sherry Butt was one of the two destinations on our list. It did not disappoint. While the drinks were amazing the real highlight was meeting Jonathan and watching him do his stuff. He elevates mixology to an art, and you knew whatever he was about to pour was going to be special. What was really cool was his ability to cut a crystal clear ice cube into something pretty extraordinary. I've seen blocks, even balls chiseled, but a diamond was new territory. This kind of craftsmanship and attention to detail - along with the really cool vibe - makes Sherry Butt in our book one of the top two must-see cocktail bars in Paris. W will definitely be back. Jonathan - in the meantime, keep up the great work.

By far my favorite bar in Paris and probably in the top 5 bars I've ever entered. The drinks are innovative and absolutely divine. The matcha drink (rum, matcha, vanilla and sesame seeds) was AMAZING. The bartender was very friendly and helpful, albeit a bit haggard due to the many customers and only one other employee working. If you love craft cocktails, you MUST visit Sherry Butt.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. The cocktails were outstanding and the staff was extremely kind. My mom and I were looking for a place to eat late on a Sunday night. The bartender and hostess were kind enough to point us to an open restaurant and also called them ahead of time to let them know we were on our way over as their kitchen was about to close. I highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area!

This is one of the best cocktail bars in Paris. A lot of their creations are unique, but they are all insanely good. The interior of the bar is filled with mirrors with lights tuned down, and really leaves a unique impression and mood.

Great bar that I highly recommend. The mixologists are excellent/knowledgeable and take pride in the drinks they serve. I asked Javier for custom drinks, and he delivered something with creativity, complexity, and deliciousness. I'll be back the next time I'm in Paris.

The fifth star is for the handsome men that frequent this place! From the experimental cocktail club group, sherry butt has a varying menu of concoctions that mix unexpected flavors and ingredients, but if you like a drink, enjoy because it might be gone the next time you come! They also serve the same bellota ham and burrata that you can find at the other establishments of this group. Good music and ambience. One table does overlook the restroom so it can be awkward when patrons leave the door open but, other than that, a great place tor return to!

Very cool cocktail lounge with a chic vibe. The bartenders were excellent and we had one of the best gin & tonics (which we were doing our best to sample across Paris). The balance between subtle lime juice, gin and the tonic was perfect. While there was a bit of a hipster vibe to the crowd, everyone seemed to be smiling and really enjoying themselves. There were enough people to make it feel exciting but not so crowded that everyone couldn't have a seat. Thank you for a great pre-dinner cocktail!

This is my absolute favorite bar in Paris. I got a recommendation from a French bartender in London. This place is FANTASTIC. My favorite drink on the menu is called Pineapple Express. The bartenders are so friendly, and the environment is cozy. This bar is a must see in Paris!

One of a kind drinks made with individually chiselled ice, a must-experience cocktail bar during your trip to Paris. Prices are firm at 13-15€ per drink but well worth the quality and ambiance.

Stopped here for a cocktail in Paris. Great spot with a nice feel. The cocktails were well made and the bartenders put a lot of effort into their preparation. The my gave a good selection of liquors for any cocktail you want!

At first glance, we were not impressed with the drink selection, but it was mostly because we didn't understand the French ingredients in each cocktail. Once we started seeing the cocktails come away from the bar, we knew we needed to give them a chance because the drinks looked great! We each tried 2 different cocktails and all four were excellent!! Ambiance is super cool and hip.

Love this bar! Great vibe and really good drinks. We went on a week night, so we first were at the bar and then got a table. The service is really nice and attentive as well(maybe because it wasn't too crowded). I can't remember exactly what we ordered but I definitely look forward to trying more of their cocktails.

My husband and I visited here a few weeks ago while on vacation. We arrived after eating a late dinner and had a great time talking with the bartenders. The drinks were delicious and made with fresh ingredients. It was a nice ending to a long day of exploring Paris.

Great place! I've been meaning to go for ages and was so glad that I did. The atmosphere was intimate and cozy with plenty of seating, even on a Friday night. The cocktail menu was a bit confusing and could be stressful to someone who wasn't willing to just pick at random (or who doesn't know a lot about cocktails) - but it's worth it to put your trust in the bartenders and you won't be disappointed. We loved all of our drinks and had a great night. Also the bouncers don't usually facture into my reviews, but he was great! Funny and helpful.

I can't say this is a typical French experience. The cocktail isn't something the French seem to typically do, but I'm not French and I love a good cocktail. This was one of my favorite bars in Paris and one of the best cocktail bars I've been to. They're making really interesting, unique drinks here with flavor profiles much different than what I'm used to in American cocktails. The bar itself is very cool, the bartenders are friendly and interesting and knowledgeable. I think yelp is driving Americans here because it was full of them, but whatever, it's worth the trip if you appreciate a cocktail.

I will pay for a done-right cocktail and this place sure does it right! They have an in house dehydrator which they use to make some amazing garnishes. I got the beet cocktail which had vodka and champgne amongst other things, garnished with a dehydrated beet chip. It was EXACTLY what I wanted. I didnt get a chance to try the whisky flights but I love that they have them with a wide variety of whiskys . Bartenders definitely know what they are doing. It also helped that he misheard me and thought I said "2 beet cocktails" so I got one for free :)

I am so in love with the custom cocktail culture in Paris, and I hope these places are not flashes in the pan. i.e. I cannot wait to visit them all again on my next trip to Paris. Sherry Butt is NO exception. While I still giggle over the name this place is serious when it comes to cocktails. I'll admit that my memory of Sherry Butt is a little fuzzy after a long Sunday Funday, but my cocktails were amazing and the staff (with the exception of one rude/jealous waitress who despite attempts did not ruin our night) were so friendly to us. In fact, it felt more like we were at someone's apartment who was sharing their home and magical cocktail making abilities. Great lighting, great music and handsome bartenders. What more does a bar need? (I'll be using that line about more than one cocktail bar in Paris.) Come with an open mind to the bartenders whim and talk to your neighbors -- it's that kind of place. I would not suggest coming in a group larger than 3 or 4. Should you like this type of place, check out my other reviews for more spots where the eye candy is as good as the libations.
