Shifu does one thing very very well: dumplings. They come in many forms: boiled, baked, seared, in soups. You can see the auntie in the front making the dumplings by hand all day long. The place is small. No music. Just the sound of people talking while enjoying their meal. This is not the place where you linger, more of the kind of place where you devour because everything is so delicious.
Special mention: the brothy soup (in the side dish section) and the lamb and cumin dumpling. They called the latter Tex-mex but the Chinese aficionados will recognize the flavor of XinJiang where China borders with India and the “-stan” countries.
