Shilla Stay Dongtan

Stayed at Shilla Stay Dongtan for a business trip, and it ended up being a solid and reliable option. The hotel has a clean, modern feel that works well if you’re in the area for work. Rooms are standard in size and setup but not overly large. It was comfortable enough for a few nights. The bed was comfortable, and the overall layout made it easy to rest or get some work done. One feature I appreciated was the currency exchange offered right at the main counter, which is convenient if you arrive without local cash. Check-in was straightforward, and the lobby has a professional, simple vibe. Staff were polite and efficient, with enough English to handle basic questions without any issues. The location is great for business travelers since there are plenty of restaurants and cafés within walking distance. Elevators were quick, which helped during busy times. While nothing about the hotel is overly luxurious or standout, it meets the needs of a business stay without any major issues. Overall, a clean, practical, and dependable hotel in Dongtan. Lets face it, if you're staying here it's because you're on a business trip to Samsung! As far as a business hotel goes, it's OK. The breakfast is good, but not brilliant, the reception staff are fine in getting you taxis and things like that, and it's in a good location to be able to walk to restaurants and the like. The problem with the place, and this is a big problem, is during the winter the rooms are far, far too hot. No matter what you set the temperature control to, the room temperature won't go below 25C. Considering you're likely already struggling for sleep, what with jetlag, having a room that's really hot makes that even worse. And that's why this place gets a poor review. When you're on a business trip what you most need from your hotel is the chance to get the best rest you can. And you won't achieve that here during the winter. During the summer it's fine, because they actually switch the ac system on.

Hotel is in a great location. Room is lovely|Staff are friendly. But and it is a big but the room was far to warm. Constant 27 degrees. I raised it a few times with the staff who told me the ac is turned off as its too cold outside and they brought me a fan. But for November its just to warm and when on business you need to sleep well.||The shower is warm never hot, seems like the mixers i broken as it doesnt really change even at the hottest.||No choice in pillows.||So much potential to be let down by very small things

For a Shilla hotel, I was not at all impressed with the rooms. It seems like I was placed on a secret floor that maybe they put all the 'day rate' people. The walls were peeling,it was dated and I did not feel like I was in a top hotel brand. Disappointed.

I reserved a taxi last night at front desk taking me to Gimpo international airport, but they messed up and driver can not speak English, they sent me to INC instead!!! Very bad experience and wish the front desk can be more responsive and clearly help us as we can not speak Korean! very disappointed

Very nice hotel for business and family. Polite and professional staff.

Very nice and helpful staff. They addressed any concern very quickly. Room cleaning was impeccable every day. Breakfast buffet had plenty of options for eating and drinking, including live ramen station. Rooms by themselves were not the best especially the bathroom. It has slight mold, nothing gross but enough to put you off if you pay attention. The ceiling has a big crack in bathroom. Bed was soft and comfy and my room had a view of the hill which was nice. The gym was small with few weights and 3 treadmills. But there are plenty of places to eat close by. Overall not worth the cost for me.
