Great location! Minutes from Insadong, royal palaces and Bukchon Hanok village streets. Close to restaurants. About 15 minute walk to Myeongdong area. Rooms are on the small side but comfortable once unpacked. L'Occitane toiletries. Temp of room controlled by hotel. Crack the window and ask for a fan from front desk. I would not recommend purchasing the breakfast package if you are staying a week. A day or two, it's okay. But selection is limited and does not vary day to day. Very walkable neighborhood. Suggest booking a high floor, temple view room.

This is my second stay at Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun, and il be back for my third stay on Saturday. This hotel has a great location, great staff, reasonable prices, and great breakfast buffet. The rooms aren't huge but they are adequate size. The only drawback is the lack of outlet near a usable/ lighted mirror making hair drying/styling a bit of a pain. Other than that I have enjoyed my stay both times.

Clean & comfortable hotel in a very good area! The rooms are small but they are enough for a few days! You get what you pay for; so it’s a good deal 😀 Would stay here again next time we’re in Seoul!

Great location right next to the Jogyesa temple. It's not completely close to major traffic arteries so it's more quiet than other similar hotels here. The windows can be opened! We got a room on the 19th floor and enjoyed the relatively quiet (it's still downtown Seoul) stay. The rooms are a bit dated and the cleaning was spotty but nothing major. The breakfast, while closing a bit too soon for a vacation (9:30), was a highlight, probably best we had anywhere in Korea. If you get a room oriented to Jogyesa, you can hear the monks chanting several times through the day, including at 4 or 5 am in the night. We enjoyed it, but it's good to be aware of that.

Efficient rooms, average service, but great, great location in the middle of downtown Seoul. The hotel sits on the 8th floor and up. The entrance and elevators are not A/C'ed, so on hot, humid July days, it was unpleasant for a few minutes. The room temperature is also centrally controlled, so you cannot lower it, or make it warmer during winter. The breakfast is wonderful, and reasonably priced if you book them when you book your room. At the door, it's about $20, but only about $13-14 when you book a membership package. But you have to sign up to be a member first!

Unbelievably inexpensive for such a clean, large room. Very simple and quick check in; close to a lot of shops, including cafes and restaurants so there are many options for dining. Hotel is in a great neighborhood, quite nice to walk around.

Rooms show signs of wear. No ice buckets, poor sound insulation from the street. Not enough elevators. No small food item store have to go outside. No room service. Good chicken and beer special that runs late into the night. Well placed for attractions. Safe.

Room is tiny and not matching its star level and price. This is from someone who lives in New York. For a two person room, we have to share a tiny nightstand that can only fit a telephone and one single chair. I requested another chair and front desk said if they can find one, they will bring it, so one of us has to do everything on the bed. Bathroom shower head doesn’t hold still, rotates and there is only half glass door do the bath which basically make it unable to shower without making a mess and the water leaks into the room floor too. My friends’ room’s AC is not working properly and they decided to just change hotel. Location is convenient besides there was a protest happening when I visited.
