Rooms show signs of wear. No ice buckets, poor sound insulation from the street. Not enough elevators. No small food item store have to go outside. No room service. Good chicken and beer special that runs late into the night. Well placed for attractions. Safe.

Efficient rooms, average service, but great, great location in the middle of downtown Seoul. The hotel sits on the 8th floor and up. The entrance and elevators are not A/C'ed, so on hot, humid July days, it was unpleasant for a few minutes. The room temperature is also centrally controlled, so you cannot lower it, or make it warmer during winter. The breakfast is wonderful, and reasonably priced if you book them when you book your room. At the door, it's about $20, but only about $13-14 when you book a membership package. But you have to sign up to be a member first!

We stayed in a triple in June 2025. ||The best thing about the hotel is undoubtedly its central location with subway stations and attractions such as Gyeongbokgung Palace nearby.||The downside was the room. While clean and contemporary, it was tight for three and there was little storage (drawers, etc.). You do have a nice views of high-rises since you are on 9th floor and up. But more storage for the week-long stay would have been helpful.

The stay was beyond my expectation! The room was clean and cozy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was good. The front desk service was enthusiastic and responsive. The breakfast was rich in variety, the location was convenient, and the surrounding business districts were complete. It was cost-effective and I would choose it again next time!

Extremely good location. Just in the middle of all attractions. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. In the bathroom L'Occitane hair chair and bath liquids. Just one minus - the rooms outlook a little old. All others were perfect.

The room was very tidy and clean with a nice view with a sunrise. Bathtub was slightly slippery but was able to enjoy a hot bath every night. Gym is slightly on the small side but has most things you'd look for in a quick gym sesh so it was alright in the end.

I recently stayed at Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun for four nights and had a great overall experience. The hotel's location is great as it is situated at an area less crowded with tourists, yet still very convenient. It’s within walking distance of several subway stations, with plenty of eateries and a convenience store at level 1 of the building.The room was clean and well-maintained, which I appreciated. It did get a bit warm in the afternoons, but fortunately, it cooled down by night thanks to the pleasant weather during my stay. One area for improvement would be the lighting near the level 1 lift area—it felt too dim and could benefit from better illumination.That said, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a comfortable place to stay in a less busy part of Seoul.

Location is very convenient and it provides access to many restaurants, shops and cafes. The hotel itself is nothing special. I paid for a deluxe room and can’t even tell the difference from a normal room. The room doesn’t even had USB ports for charging devices. Some of the staff members particularly in the breakfast are rude. The cleaning lady is extremely friendly and polite. I won’t be staying here again.
