The 13 Best Airbnbs in New England Include Cozy Cabins & Coastal Retreats | Vogue

"Perfect for a couple or solo traveler, this tranquil studio repurposes the garage of a 1740s-era farmhouse, where thoughtful details—checkerboard bar stools, ruffled pendant lighting, and reclaimed wood doors—add charm. Despite the quiet, you’ll share the property with chickens, geese, ducks, and cows, with feeding (and photos) encouraged. Simple comforts like a bathtub and coffee maker keep things cozy, and housekeeping is available for a fee." - Elly Leavitt

We absolutely loved Shilo Farm our den was exactly as advertised. Close to beach, shopping and other things to do. The animals were great to see and Shasta was such a nice friendly pup. 5 stars 🌟

We went in Mid February, 2025. This experience brings me back to past winters of sitting by a fire, hot cocoa in locally crafted ceramic mugs, a quiet home blanketed by snow, and wind gusts providing the white noise optimal for rest. We had breakfast with the complement of eggs from the chickens we could hear clucking outside our window. My wife, son and I thoroughly enjoyed our time! Btw, the goats love carrots!

Very rejuvenating and welcoming place. The hosts were so friendly, the property was beautiful, and the animals were so sweet. Oh and that farm store was so cool! Definitely a little haven and hidden gem

Shilo Farm is the coziest place in the world! It has so much charm, personality, and warmth. The owners, Amy and Jonas as the kindest and most genuine people you will ever meet and made us feel at home immediately. The property is beautiful with a forest trail, big garden, and the coolest barn which has a loft and yoga room where they also set up ping pong or movies. There are goats and chickens which are all very friendly and cute. This is a short drive from Portsmouth but is quiet and isolated in nature. The owners have great recommendations for things to do whether you're going into town or spending the whole day on the property which is easy to do. I can't recommend this place enough and I wish I could live here!

Such a gorgeous and peaceful farm with adorable goats, multiple beautiful Airbnbs, an all-natural hot tub, and healing and rejuvenating classes. Jonas is a wonderful yoga teacher and host. Highly recommend spending time on the farm and enjoying all it has to offer! My friend and I stayed there in January and, despite the cold weather, had a blast.

My boyfriend and I visited Shilo Farm and stayed in the den unit. I can't say enough good things about our stay! The space we stayed in was beautifully decorated and cozy, which made for a truly relaxing getaway. Amylyn and Jonas were excellent hosts. They gave great recommendations of things to do in the area and were quick to respond to messages. They were generous with their space, allowing us to spend time with the animals and use the outdoor amenities. My only regret is that we didn't make it to a yoga session! Shilo Farm is a special place that we are so glad we stumbled upon. Amylyn and Jonas have clearly put a lot of thought and care into creating a wonderful experience for their guests. We will definitely be visiting again!

Yelp
We drove from Vermont to Eliot, Maine and it was a beautiful and relaxing car ride with fun anticipation and lots of music. When we arrived and we were driving down Shiloh Farms driveway, Amylyn was waving us in and it was just a wonderful welcome to a fun farm experience! Jonas came out to welcome us and they both asked if we wanted to meet their dog Shasta...they explained she's big but friendly. She was; and so happy and silly, we even got her to roll over. This farm feels well protected with this beautiful girl manning the farm. In any event they showed us around and everything is so well designed and everywhere you walk there is art. I love farm swings as I remember them at my grandparents farm and one of their swings fit both of us and we had a blast swinging amongst the friendly chickens, singing and laughing. I just felt healthier amongst all the nature and beauty and had no idea how much the sounds of a farm would delight us. This was exactly the unique farm experience I was seeking for my kiddo. She chose a farm experience over amusement park experience or more beach time and here we couldn't get away from the animals, in a great way. Goats, chickens (so happy and fun), cats, and of course Shasta and friendly proprietors that went out of their way for my kiddo. We fully intended to use the fire pit but the first day we had been at the beach all day and conked out early. And the second night was rainy and we were tired from a lot of travel but we did have an excellent night sleep, listening to the rain. And with the yoga, I never inquired as we do some at home on YouTube and I'm awkward doing it and really we're here for the animals. We just got done running with the goats and collecting eggs from the chicken coop, all the while being educated in a kid friendly way about the animals, their food, the different species, and all about the different colored eggs. Fascinating. And BONUS, they shared/gave my daughter a little book about one of their goats, named Olaf that is about bullying and conquering it and a coloring book she spent a-lot of time on yesterday . I can't thank Amylyn and Jonas enough for providing such an interactive, relaxing, and fun time at a beautifully designed property that delights the eye with all the art (much created from trees and other resources on the property. Their love of animals, their farm, each other and what they do makes for a warm and loving experience. Their stories about the animals are so cool- their chickens don't get eaten, they live their full lives, and what happy and healthy chickens they are. Luna, the goat had a stroke a while back and they lovingly got her back in action after quite the recovery. Happy people doing what they love on this farm. We are lucky they love it so much they want to share it The location is AMAZING.. a couple miles from gorgeous beaches (that's definitely my thing so we got the best of both worlds here) Pics are on the way
