I spent a relaxing few days here to escape the city. It was a fabulous resort with outstanding views of the waterways and island from well-appointed rooms, a selection of fitness and spa facilities, and excellent dining on-site, as well as local cuisine in the nearby historic fishing and pearl-cultivating village. The spacious property has many walkways, peacefully manicured, along which you can visit greenhouses, a small shrine, seating areas, and a collection of contemporary bronzes dedicated to poetry memorializing the beauty of Kashikojima. The location is relatively free of urban light pollution; and in the evening you can use the powerful rooftop telescope to clearly view Jupiter and discern 4 of its larger moons. The hotel also has a private dock from which you can take a guided boat-tour among the collection of small islands and pearl farms surrounding the larger island. It is no wonder this hotel attracts visits from the Imperial Family and has been the site of secluded events such as the G-7 Summit.
