If you’re one who likes to spend the day out and about whilst traveling and return to a comfortable bed and strong, hot shower then the Prince is ideal. The hotel is affordable, clean, well appointed with courteous and accommodating staff. There are many amenities and it’s across the road from a major train station making access to places of interest really easy. We really enjoyed staying here.

Do not recommend this hotel and won’t come back again. Room: Very old facility and like a 2-star hotel standard. Unbelievable it gets 4-star. AC or refrigerator noise can be heard all the time. Maybe because it’s too old. Service: Mean. We came early and asked if there’s room can be early checked in. They refused and said need extra money to check in early. While the hotels in other countries usually will do a favor. And when we ate sandwich for breakfast in the resting area in reception hall, a guy rushed to us and stopped us with laud voice which was pretty rude. The rules here are pretty strict so probably it doesn’t fit us. Location: Close to Shinagawa station, the only advantage. Overall I don’t like this place and think it not worth the money.

The room was very small and felt cramped. There were no proper charging sockets near the bed, so we had to charge our phones using the TV, which was inconvenient. The bathroom was also extremely small and uncomfortable to use. For the room itself, I would give 1 star. However, the service was excellent. The staff were very kind, helpful, and professional, so I would give the service 5 stars. The location was okay, not amazing but not bad either, so I would rate it 3 stars. Overall, the service was the best part of the stay, but the room size and facilities really need improvement.

Perfect location. Just across from Shinagawa Train Station. The bed was comfortable. Amenities such as toothbrush, shavers and comb are provided. The cleaning staff are polite and attentive. The room was clean and well-appointed. However, it might be a bit small for a couple or tall people. If you have booked for a non-smoking room, please ensure that the previous occupant(s) didn't breach the non-smoking rule. Request a change of room at any suspicion of cigarette odour in the room or you might be held responsible for disinfecting and sanitising odour removal and cleaning. All in all good value for money.

Be careful not to confuse with the Shintakanawa Prince hotel. This Seibu Prince hotel consists of various towers so I can only comment on the Main Tower. This tower is very dated - we had a triple room so size was fine. The bathrooms are very old, no USB charge points, aircon with mobile units and just the feel of no money spent for years on upgrades. It specialises in group reservations and it shows. For breakfast there is a huge queue into the main breakfast hall which is packed and is not a relaxing experience. However actually you can get the price included set menu breakfasts at other restaurants so this is a lot better. Beds are comfortable, cleanliness is fine and the water pressure in the shower is great. Location is superb as it is right next to a Yamanote line station. There is a 7eleven onsite and also a huge 10 pin bowling hall

Google
The location is great opposite the station but you are just a number in these huge hotels and won’t see any staff to help you. Housekeeping staff lost a piece of my wife’s clothing as it was bundled up with laundry by them (presumably) as it went missing with the PJs and sheets and refuse to compensate as they have “no proof”. Really disappointing as you should be able to leave your own items in your room without worry they will be taken and lost/stolen. I understand mistakes happen but the hotels refusal to accept any responsibility is poor form. The rooms are also tiny (even upgraded rooms) and outdated, with paper thin walls and no soundproofing so not for light sleepers.

We stayed at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Tokyo with our 20-month-old baby and had a lovely experience. The location is excellent — just a few minutes’ walk from Shinagawa Station, which made it very convenient to travel around Tokyo and to Haneda Airport. Although the hotel doesn’t provide a baby cot, we appreciated that the toiletries included a baby set — a thoughtful touch for families traveling with young children. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The highlight was definitely the stunning Mount Fuji view from our window — a beautiful sight to wake up to! There are many dining options and convenience stores nearby, and having restaurants and shops within the hotel complex made things much easier with a toddler. Overall, a comfortable and family-friendly stay in a great location. We would happily return again on our next Tokyo trip!

I’ve been standing in line for breakfast for almost half an hour now, so writing this review feels like my small battle against boredom. The hotel itself is enormous - more like a city within a city. When I arrived for the first time, I was genuinely confused about which tower my room was in. The staff’s English is acceptable, but as I’ve learned in Japan, even the simplest request can easily turn into a long and complicated process. In hindsight, I almost regret asking for anything at all. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, so there’s really nothing to complain about in that regard. The real problem lies in the endless queues - everywhere. It feels like a river of people flowing nonstop. Breakfast is a complete disaster; it doesn’t matter whether you come at 6:30, 8:00, or 9:00 - it’s always crowded and far from relaxing. The whole experience feels mechanical: come, sit, eat, leave, next! The location is definitely a plus, but that’s about it. It’s fine for short business trips, but I wouldn’t recommend it for leisure or family stays. The whole place feels impersonal and overwhelming - like being an ant in a giant anthill.

Yelp
Shinagawa Prince Hotel - A City Within the City The Shinagawa Prince Hotel is an impressive, full-scale destination in itself. The property is massive, featuring three distinct towers so yes, there may be a brief "Which tower am I in?" moment at check-in. Once I found my way to the Annex Tower, everything else was smooth sailing. I stayed in a queen room with a separate bath on the 30th floor, which offered a fantastic panoramic view of Tokyo. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, exactly what you want after full days of exploring the city. The staff truly stood out: friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The entire property felt well-maintained and calm despite its size. What really sets this hotel apart is the sheer amount of on-site entertainment bowling, shopping, dining, and more, making it feel like a mini city. Location-wise, it doesn't get much better. The Shinagawa Station is literally across the street, making it incredibly easy to hop on a train and explore Tokyo daily. And when the trains stopped running, a quick Uber ride back was under $10 USD convenient and budget-friendly. While I didn't try the hotel breakfast, based on the overall experience, I imagine it would be just as solid. All in all, I highly recommend the Shinagawa Prince Hotel and would absolutely stay here again on future visits to Tokyo. Convenience, comfort, and connectivity this place delivers.

Yelp
Location, location, location! It is conveniently located near the Shinagawa train station. BIL booked the hotel. It has multiple buildings as well as a shopping center with a food court which came in handy when we arrived kinda late. The rooms are small, best way to describe it is cruise ship size. The room had a fairly deep tub which hubby enjoyed a bath. Since the voltage is similar to the US, you don't need an adapter. They do provide a mobile adapter to connect your devices (micro USB, USB-C, and lightning). They provide pajamas and slippers which is a nice touch. The only thing lacking are dresser drawers so you'll live out of your suitcase.

Yelp
Room very nice. Hotel amazing! Lots of food courts in the hotel itself and shops. Our room was the largest they had, which is quite small if you're an American. Across from rail station so easy access to other places. Only here 2 days and was sick

Yelp
While staying in Tokyo a colleague and I stayed here. We made reservations based on a recommendation from a co-worker, plus the price was decent. Checking in is a terrible experience as they only check people in at 3PM, which is absolutely ridiculous. So, we arrived much earlier, as that's when out train got us there. Getting there around noon, we needed to check and store our luggage, which was cumbersome in their long lines at the luggage area. Later when we got back around 3PM, the check in line was HUGE! SO many people waiting to check in, so we tried to use their check-in kiosks instead. It worked well for me, but not my co-worker. We also didn't know we were staying in the Annex, which was easier, with smaller lines for checking in. Once we were checked in and got our keys, we each went to our rooms. I was very disappointed when I walked into mine, the room resembled a plastic-walled cruise ship cabin with plastic bath fixtures. It was so tight and not made of traditional construction. The bathroom was elevated, which I almost tripped over to get into the first time, as you have to step up. I'm sure this is due to the plumbing access they run under the floor. The bed was just ok, but not very comfy. The hall way leading to my room smelled terrible, very musty and smokey. My colleague said he room was horribly smokey (like cigarette) smelling. The hotel isn't really too close to many activities, but it is across the street from the Shinagawa JR station, which makes getting anywhere very convenient. Definitely would not stay here again.

Yelp
There's always pros and cons to traveling, especially putting yourself in the shoes of if you're a traveler, or if you live somewhere and need show someone around. In the case of the Shinagawa Prince, since my wife and I were going to be doing other traveling around Japan as well as wanted easy access to Haneda Airport, I chose to stay here. I used to live in Tamachi, just a quick stop over from Shinagawa Station, so I was already familiar with the area and it made things easy on my wife who had never been to Japan before. The hotel is right across the street from JR Yamanote Shinagawa Station which is one of the most common train lines you'll probably ride during your stay as it circumnavigates the entire city and hits all the major stops like Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Harajuku. So basically, if you want easy access to the airport and Shinkansen bullet train, this is a good choice for a hotel. If you want to be in a more bumping part of Tokyo, this probably isn't it. Shinagawa is a sort of urban business plaza type district, and all the aforementioned hot spots (Shibuya, Harajuku, etc) are about 30 minutes away by train. The hotel was huge, nice and clean. Staff was nice when we came across them, but honestly so much stuff is like digital check in now that you barely really interact with people anymore. Check in/Check out was no different, done at self service kiosks. There's a nice restaurant for breakfast, and an interesting food court with a mix of different Japanese restaurants on property. There's also an aquarium (which we went to and was nice), as well as a movie theater. Like, this hotel property is massive. TL;DR, it's a good introductory hotel for Tokyo if you want to prioritize ease of airport and train access. If you want to be in a more lively area, there are hotels elsewhere.

Yelp
Located right in front of Shinagawa Station, is very easy to get here from either Narita or Haneda Airport using the Next Train. I stayed in North Shinagawa Prince Hotel. Is in the same complex but with separate registration system. Rooms are small but well maintained, clean and functional with air purification system, a tea ready for you to enjoy. Eateries are a bit limited in the surrounding but riding the subway, everything is 15 minutes away. The surrounding is very safe to walk as many other places in Japan. Also, same as any metropolis, is a high rise building loaded jungle. The registration desk is on the second floor. As soon as I enter the second floor, was greeted by a very polite gentlemen who helped me to register all digitally. Got my keys and to the room. Depending on your type reservation, the breakfast is included (nothing fancy) and at the same business lounge you can later come any time to enjoy refreshment and coffee free of charge. The lounge is ideal to work. Market and some shopping mall is across the street including some dining and coffee shops like Blue bottle. Is a very functional and clean hotel good for anyone.

Yelp
We stayed on the 30th floor Pros *Housekeeping- super efficient. In the US, Housekeeping usually starts cleaning the rooms early, making noise in the hallways. That is not the case here. I once left the hotel at 830 am, came back around 1 pm and they already cleaned my room. Also, we forgot something at the hotel and they mailed it (for a fee, of course, but it was super reasonable) to our next hotel and we received it the next day *rooms- not huge but comfortable Daily pj, 2 bottles water daily, chargers, fridge, safe, iron/ ironing board, plus toiletries *staff- professional *takyubin- they sent our luggage to our next hotel Cons *ac- you can't adjust the temp. It was super hot on the first day but it was cooler after that *there's multiple Prince hotels, it's so crowded. The hotels are connected w/ too many entrances and it was confusing.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Very welcoming to foreign visitors. There is a 7 eleven, water park, arcade, bowling alley, restaurants to name a few.

Yelp
My Chanel perfume was stolen from my suitcase. I couldn't find my Chanel perfume on the day I checked out of the hotel (it was a brand-new bottle I brought specifically for this trip). I didn't think much of it at the time because we were running late for the airport. While waiting to board our flight, I double-checked my carry-on suitcase and still couldn't find the perfume. I then called the hotel to report the incident and to ensure this wouldn't happen to future guests. I spoke with the Reservation Desk Manager, but she repeatedly told me she needed to check with the Lost and Found department. I explained several times that the perfume was not lost--it was stolen from my suitcase while I was staying at the hotel. She then informed me of the hotel policy stating that housekeeping never touches guests' personal belongings or suitcases. I replied that I was already aware of the policy, but I am confident the perfume was stolen. I simply wanted the hotel to report the incident to the Housekeeping Manager and take necessary precautions to prevent similar incidents from happening again. She said they would contact me via email after their investigation. To this day, I have not received any follow-up or email from the hotel. We made our reservation based on a recommendation from a co-worker, and the rate was around $250 per night for our stay in May/June 2025. Our check-in experience was also terrible. The hotel only allows check-in at 3:00 PM. We arrived at 2:30 PM and were told we could use the self-service kiosks, which turned out to be extremely difficult to use. After 15 minutes of trying, we sought help, but the staff assisting us did not speak English well and told us to create an account instead of helping us check in. By the time we gave up and got in line, it was 3:00 PM and the line was extremely long because everyone was trying to check in at the same time. It took about 45 minutes to get checked in and receive our room key. I was very disappointed when I entered the room. The bathroom resembled that of a cruise ship cabin with plastic walls and fixtures. It was extremely small and not built with traditional materials. The bathroom had a strong smell of urine, and the floor was yellow around the toilet. The mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. The hallway leading to our room smelled musty and smoky, and it was very dark with insufficient lighting. We absolutely do not recommend staying at this hotel and we will definitely not be returning.

Yelp
I personally really like staying here. It's conveniently located by the Shinagawa train station. There's also a 711 attached to the hotel. Super convenient! If you stay at the Annex Tower, it's the closest to the train station and the 711. The main tower is a little further walk. The staff at the Annex tower are pretty accommodating. There is one guy there that isn't the friendliest. I'm not entirely sure why but it happened two out of two times we went in 2023. Avoided him this past trip. Other than him, the rest of the staff are accommodating. I don't speak Japanese, but still able to communicate. I book on booking.com and everything is a smooth transaction. So easy to book on there. Rooms are an okay size. Not super big but you shouldn't be spending too much time in there anyway! Super easy to go out and explore outside!

Yelp
What a wait to give Them your baggage when you arrive before Your 3pm check in time. Now I'm in a line to self check in at the kiosk. Great idea though to provide this. But I have never seen a line this long to check in at 3:00pm and then there is a line to check your baggage in so They can hold it until you actually check in at 3pm. This place Does not offer any early check in. When we finally checked in and got to see our room with the huge picture window it was nice. Just make sure you close the blinds when you leave the room as it gets pretty heated by the sun. The room however was pretty dated. The outside of the hotel Looked nice and grand so did the lobby but the rooms were a bit dated. The furniture could use an update. Then we went down to Hapuna for our breakfast buffet and then again there was a long long line. I have never encountered this before - maybe in Reno and Vegas for a great buffet but not in Tokyo! This space was huge for breakfast. They had curry and porridge, salads, a delicious crepe cake etc. The hapuna buffet was huge and they also led us to a table which was nice. The food was good but as always there are not enough fresh fruits. Where are the strawberries? Although this was booked via my tour company, the Prince charged us 400 yen per night for taxes or something.

Yelp
Touristy. Traveler friendly. Family oriented. Stayed here for our entire stay in Tokyo. If your time in Japan is based out of Tokyo and you're doing lots of day trips from the Shinagawa station - this is a great and easy spot because you're minutes from the station. Decent pricing. However if you're looking for something authentic and private this is not the place. It had several conferences, events and tourist groups while we stayed and I think is more catered for older travelers, large groups and families. It is however safe and efficient! Pros: close to the station, lots of shops, a dope 7-11 and entertainment for all ages. They have bowling, swimming, a movie theatre, plenty of restaurants, spa, food experiences, etc. Taxis are always ready at the front and check in and checkout were super easy - self directed which was nice. Cons: gym isn't free and in another building with limited weight room, food court isn't very authentic, rooms are small and outdated, hotel is big and easy to get lost in, baggage storage can take forever, noisy, and very touristy. Don't use the phone to call restaurants - they charge per minute If you don't travel often or you're new to Japan and intimated by travel, here is a good spot to get your feet wet and can utilize plenty of the resources. For experience travelers go elsewhere!

Yelp
Attention to Murakami at the main tower's front desk. Please do yourself a favor and do not stay at Prince Hotel Shinagawa. This hotel has horrible customer service, disgusting rooms and ridiculous charges on getting a new key. My family and I checked into the hotel 2:30 pm on 7/6 but the hotel has a strict policy that check in has to be at 3 pm. We patiently waited till 3 pm. Checked in, but my sister and her bf's room smelled urine in the restrooms. The restrooms smelled sooo bad. I won't go into detail about it but it was intolerable. We talked to Nan who helped them switch their room and upgraded them to a higher floor. She was great and very helpful. Unfortunately, she was the only good thing about this hotel. Nan definitely deserves a raise. I went to the lobby on 7/6 at 9:30 pm to ask for a new hotel key because I lost mine. The front desk worker named Murakami rolled his eyes and had ridiculous attitude. He charged me 2,000 yen for a new key. I would have been fine paying for it but he was so rude and acted as if we offended him. Please spend a little more money and book somewhere nicer. The rooms look like a motel 6. Service is outrageous and it feels like everyone is judging and scolding you especially Murakami. Also WiFi is very slow. Hope this review helps others

Yelp
Perfect location if you arrive at Haneda Airport. Twenty minute ride on the Keikyu line train for 300 yen pp was a good deal & took us to Shinagawa. Our hotel was across the street by McDonalds of all places, always packed with locals in business suits. Our flight was delayed 8 hours so we arrived at the hotel after 7 a.m. Check in time was 11 a.m.#!? Noticing our disenchanted fizzled red eye appearance the front desk clerk said you can check out at noon. Oh joy we had time for a shower and a nap. Hubs did not want to spend 3200 yen per person for breakfast at the hotel. Reason for our hot dog breakfast at Mango Cafe. (In my next life I will marry a rich or at least generous man) The shower was great, warm water, good force and clean smelling cleansers in 3 pump dispensers. I had 46 minutes to nap so set up a wakeup call on the hotel phone and two alarms on my cell phone. The bed waa comfy, bedding soft and wonderful I konked immediately. His snoring went ignored. We left our luggage at the 2 nd floor cloak room abd gave the lady a box of macnut chocolates. Not sure why but when we came back to claim our belongings a luggage tag was missing from my suitcase and the inside zipper was partially open and off track in one spot. Thus the last star just in case. You sign a waiver when you leave your luggage with them. We were gone for 5 hours. All in all a convenient and safe place to stay. There were lots of high school looking teenagers in uniforms everywhere in the hotel.

Yelp
My boss and I had a bit of a hotel debacle on our first night in Tokyo. Part of it was a misunderstanding between my boss and her admin, part of it was the hotel. If you've never been, let me tell you that the Prince hotels are confusing! They're all in the same general vicinity, named pretty much the same, and all of differing quality. To start, my boss' admin didn't book the correct hotel. That probably wouldn't have been a stopper, but for the fact that this hotel had us booked in a different tower from the one we originally walked in to, and the tower we were booked into had a bowling alley on the lower levels. Again, likely not too big a deal - we had several good laughs over that fact - but my boss was put on one of "remodeled floors", in a "modernized room". That was the deal killer. Apparently her room was tiny, with no storage to speak of and no space for her to stretch out. We were in Tokyo for 6 nights, so she needed space. We were able to get her a different room (right next to mine, as it happened), but I got us booked into a different Prince hotel for the remainder of our stay, at her request. To be honest, I wouldn't have complained about the hotel or the room to my boss at all. My room was decent - more spacious than I'd expected, with a desk, couch, vanity and closet. The mattress was terribly uncomfortable - it felt like I was sleeping on concrete - but the mattress was the only thing my boss liked about her own room. Go figure. The bathroom was cramped but fine, if it weren't for the mildew on the shower tiles. The water pressure in the shower was a godsend after a long day of travel, though! Our tower's hallways felt very dated, and had an odd smell to them. It was also a bit of a maze going from our doors to the elevators, but I'm sure we would have figured it out had we stayed a bit longer. My room overlooked Shinagawa Train Station, so I could hear when the trains started up for the morning. It wasn't overly loud, but it was noticeable. It didn't help that I had insomnia that first night, too. Overall, it wasn't horrible, but I wasn't comfortable on the bed, and I had to pretend not to notice the mildew in the shower. I know now that I'd likely not choose this hotel for a personal trip (and our local colleagues told us that most of the towers of this hotel should be avoided, if that figures into anything.)

Yelp
Nice hotel with a super convenient location. Super close to Shinagawa station, so close that 6 of us walked there with a ton of suitcases in less than 10 minutes. When we were temporarily lost, we just looked up and saw the hotel looming overhead, which made it easy to find. All the staff at the hotel were super friendly and the hotel itself is beautiful. The bathroom and amenities were all great, the only issue we had was with the air conditioning. The room was pretty warm, even after we turned the thermostat down. But other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go there again.
google avatar

Marian O.

Yelp
For the price this is a deal. I know the Shinagawa area really well and for convenience it can't be beat. Train and Shinkansen and airport access are great. Since the Shinagawa Goos Hotel nearby closed I switched. The hotel breakfast is way too expensive at 3300 yen and there's always a huge line. So we went to Renoir Coffee Shop across the street as well as Royal Host Restaurant around the corner and yes, Starbucks in Shinagawa Station because they serve decaf. And the service is so much better than any US Starbucks - food too! There's a 7/11 in the hotel as well as some cool shops! Love this place - will stay here on our annual trips.

Cassie P.

Yelp
We needed a hotel for one final night in Tokyo, so wanted something that had easy access to the airport. This spot was perfect! Located directly across from the Shinagawa station, we couldn't have asked for anything better. We booked through Hotels.com and had a double room in the Annex tower. The room itself felt outdated, but the bed was super comfy and the bathroom was huge compared to our last hotel. This "hotel" is actual multiple towers and therefore, feels massive. Inside there's a bowling alley, movie theater, aquarium, food court, multiple restaurants, convenience and souvenir shops, and more. There's not much to do in the immediate area, so we actually ended up snacking at the food court, having dessert at the bakery, eating dinner at one of the restaurants for shabu-shabu, and seeing Black Panther at the theater... You really don't need to leave to have fun! I wouldn't encourage tourists to stay here that want to see all of the city, but if it's easy access to and from the airport you want, then this is a good bet.

Yelp
When we were planning for our first family trip to Japan, several of my friends recommended the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. The hotel fronts Shinagawa Station which is a major railway station in Tokyo and also a stop for the Shinkasen. The Shinagawa Prince Hotel has four towers as well as movie theaters, bowling, The Aqua Park Shinagawa, tennis, golf, swimming pools and other entertainment facilities. The location was very convenient as we took the train daily and the food choices around the hotel as well as inside the station were plentiful. As expected, our room with two twin beds was small. However, it was clean and we even had a sofa and a small refrigerator. The service at the hotel was excellent. On the last night of our stay, I wish I had booked our hotel for an extra night or at least until 5pm (half the daily rate) because our flight was at 11:55pm. I also found that the airport limousines that you can book through the hotel didn't have a time to accommodate our departure time to Haneda. Instead, we caught a taxi which was probably more convenient.

Yelp
First night ever in Japan. Being short walking distance from the Shinagawa train station is a true benefit. The staff was kind and helpful. The rooms are quite small which is par for the course. The bathroom, while small, was also quite luxurious. I felt guilty taking a shower with that much water pressure and volume. Also my first experience with Japanese toilets. Quite a treat. Comfy bed. We were not there long enough to experience food, gym or any other amenities. A decent value for the area.

Yelp
If you need a place to stay close to the train station then this is your place. This place was especially beneficial for me since it offered a single room at a decent price when I needed the security of knowing a train station is nearby in a city I've never traveled to before. Being this close to the train station (literally right across the street) babied me from venturing out of the neighborhood. But that's ok since I essentially wanted to be in a central location for my Tokyo stay. I stayed in the East Tower which is a simple hotel room for single people. It felt like a dorm but you have your own private bathroom. At the elevator lobby, you could borrow irons and ironing boards or on certain floors get a beer from the vending machine. (I wasn't on a beer floor!) Check-in was pretty easy once I found out that the East Tower has it's own reception desk. I had pre-paid my room on hotels.com so the only thing I owed was tax. I'm so happy the guest agent spoke English because my Japanese is poor. There's only one set of elevators that will take you to the floors, so if you're the unfortunate person who is the last room from the elevator, well that sucks for you. The room, as tiny as it is, was extremely quiet. I liked that there was a little window to look out of. I tired flashing people in the other tower, but the window is hella tiny. The bathroom was really small and for me to say that, you gotta believe it. I bumped my elbow a few times in the shower. But I do love the heated toilet seat and bidet action. (Yeah, wash my butt!) Make sure you keep the bathroom door closed when taking a shower because hot, steamy showers can set off the smoke alarm. The room has a refrigerator, which I used to store my chu-hi drinks and not much else. When I got to the room, I immediately changed into the yukata and used the slippers when I was in the room. I didn't watch tv, but used it to play music. The bed was a bit soft and I feel like the futon needs a change soon. There's also a little clock by the head of the bed which was useful. All in all the room did what it needed to do. I doubt you can get some sexy time action here because it is very cramped, but that's why there are love hotels, right? And I think they monitor it so that you can't have guests in your room anyway. The overall hotel itself had some cute shops and restaurants. I forgot to pack deodorant so I found the pharmacy place very useful. There's also 7-11 and a bowling alley. If you don't get your room cleaned for a day by putting a door knob note, you'll get a voucher to use at the shops. I got 1,000 yen this way to buy myself snackies. So if you're looking for a place to stay that has a good location, stay here. The price was ok, but I think you're mainly paying for a private bathroom.

Yelp
Great hotel and centrally located in Tokyo. The hotel is directly across from the Shinagawa train station, so it is very convenient when touring the country. I see that it has received some negative reviews, but I am really not sure why. No, it was not a 5 star hotel, but we really didn't need one since we wouldn't be in the hotel that much. The hotel itself, like all of Japan, was completely immaculate. Super, super clean. Our room was spacious enough for our needs and had an incredible view of the city. Of course, in place of a usual coffee machine, they offered a hot tea pot with tasty green tea to brew. I am a big coffee drinker in the morning, but this I found just as satisfying. The hotel offered restaurants and several shops to peruse. I never once spoke with an unfriendly employee- all gracious and accommodating. If I ever return to Tokyo, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Yelp
I have stayed here many times. This is my favorite hotel across the street from the Shinagawa train station. I arrived Tokyo Haneda airport. I took the Keikyu line from Haneda to Shinagawa for 410 yen. My check-in and check-out both went smoothly for my one night stay in room 52134 located on the 22nd floor in the newer circular annex tower. My room was 14,950 yen. There are lots of things to see and do in the Shinagawa area. Also the Narita Express train stops at Shinagawa, which I did not take this time, because I was flying to Fukuoka from Haneda after my meetings. I will continue to return here.

Yelp
Tiny, no frills rooms at a price slightly lower than other hotels in the area. Convenient location and many amenities in the lower floors (including a bowling alley) Lack of room service was disappointing after a long flight; but there are several restaurant also in the building.

Yelp
I am the biggest fan of this hotel and have sent dozens of happy referrals. This is a mega resort in Tokyo, located 2 minutes by walk to one of the most connected train stations in Tokyo. First of all, you will not beat the price at this hotel for what you get. Book online and get the Main Tower, corner unit (20% bigger than others). This advice is the best you will ever get for a hotel stay in Tokyo. Book early, these corner units go fast. Each corner unit room has either a view of Tokyo Tower or Mt. Fuji. You'll never pay more than $175 a night at this hotel, so why stay anywhere else? As I said, this is a mega resort with over 30 restaurants, a multiplex movie theater, a world class aquarium, a bowling alley, arcade, karaoke rooms and more. There are four towers to choose from, but as I mentioned best bet is Main Tower, corner unit. Around the area is another 70 restaurants, including Shinatatsu Ramen Street, with 12 ramen shops under one roof. That is 100 different restaurants within walking distance from your hotel room! The hotel is located across the street from the Shinagawa Station, where you can catch the Japan Rail line to Shibuya, Ginza, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Yokohama and more without any transfers. There is also direct train access to Haneda and Narita Airport, but it's best to use taxi if coming from Haneda or the Limousine Bus if coming from Narita, unless you have very little luggage. Shinagawa Station is also a major Shinkansen terminal so you can go to Kyoto or Osaka from here with ease. Next to the station is the Odaiba Rainbow Bus terminal, where you can get to Odaiba for just 210 yen! Get anywhere you need in Tokyo from this hotel. I also like Shinagawa station (品川) because the Kanji Japanese characters is the easiest to read, look for three boxes and three lines! Trust me, this helps. For restaurants, make sure you check out Luxe Dining Hapuna, the hotel buffet. Its huge, with a very good variety. Yes, its named after the Big Island's Hapuna! Famous Yakiniku chain Jojoen is in the hotel. The 38th and 39th floor of the Main Tower hosts 10 dining and bar concepts with spectacular views of Tokyo. There is a McDonalds and 7-11 downstairs of the hotel. You can get discounts at the Aquarium and Movie Theater by showing your room card. You'll never have trouble finding English speakers here, and booking online is super easy, with no credit card needed. I've been to Tokyo more than 50 times in my life, and I've tried as hard as I can to find a better hotel in this price range next to a major train station and it doesn't exist. Main Tower, Corner Unit. Book it and enjoy your next trip to Tokyo!

Yelp
An older hotel, but don't let the stereotype fool you. Been in Tokyo at 1 other hotel which was the most part of my trip; 9 nights. Stayed at the Prince Hotel for 1 night only. This hotel is HUGE! So much that you can do in this hotel that you really don't have to leave the property for anything. Definitely a family hotel! Room a tad bit out dated if you care for that sort of stuff. I don't because I'm not here for the room and the room is nice and clean by the way. Hotel is very fine, and service is outstanding. I definitely recommend if traveling with kids of any age. Several different dinning and bar options on the property. Shops galore here as well. Mostly Japanese guests. Read the hotel room guest book. Great info for you to navigate around the hotel during your stay. Used the laundry machines. 100 yen to wash and 200 yen for 20 minutes of drying. I ran each load 3 times in the dryer. They aren't very powerful but they did the trick after I broke up the load into three dryers. I would stay here again. Wish I had at least another few nights stay. Some of the things they have available in this hotel: Two bowling alleys Movie theater Shopping galore Indoor pool Outdoor pool Cafes Restaurants Karaoke Banquet halls Fine dinning Buffet dinning Tennis court Clubs Aqua park Free Wi-fi Guest room refrigerator

Yelp
So first of all, it's important to know that there are FOUR different Prince Hotel properties in Shinagawa. The Shinagawa Prince Hotel (this hotel) is located just across the street from JR & Keikyu Shinagawa Station. The other three (Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa, and The Prince Sakura Tower) are located a few blocks away. The Shinagawa Prince is the most convenient since it's closest to the train station, has an indoor food court attached to it, and tends to be the most affordable. The other 3 Prince hotels in Shinagawa are less convenient, but have bigger, nicer rooms. (With niceness increasing in the order of Grand Prince Takanawa, Grand Prince New Takanawa, The Prince Sakura Tower) The Prince Sakura Tower especially is in a class of its own and is the only Prince property in Tokyo that's also a Marriott Autograph Collection. (i.e. your Marriott elite status works there, if you have one.) With that said, there are significant pluses and minuses to consider for this hotel. The good: Shinagawa Station has direct train access to both Tokyo Narita and Tokyo Haneda Airports. The hotel is also a stop for the Airport Limousine Buse. Shinagawa Station is a stop for all Tokaido Shinkansen (bullet trains) from Tokyo towards Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima. Shinagawa Station is a stop for the JR Yamanote Line loop. The bad: Shinagawa in itself does not have many tourist attractions, and is not particularly close to tourist favorites like Asakusa, Tsukiji, Akihabara, Shibuya, or Harajuku. There also aren't very many amazing/authentic/unique dining options in Shinagawa. The rooms here are pretty small. You could get a nicer room for less money elsewhere in Tokyo if you know where you're looking. This is a huge and popular hotel, so expect long lines for checking in and depending on which floor your room is, also for the elevator. My take: I like to stay here (or one of the other Prince Hotels in Shinagawa) when I'm arriving from the airport, when I'm leaving for the airport, or when I'm traveling on the bullet train to different parts of Japan while using Tokyo as my home base. However, when I'm in Tokyo exclusively to visit Tokyo, I prefer to stay closer to the action in Ueno, Akihabara, or Shinjuku.

Yelp
The location is great, it's just 3 min walk from the Shinagawa station. If you are lucky and get a room higher than the 25th floor in the main tower you will have a great view.

Yelp
My mom got a really good deal with this hotel. Having an early checkout at 10am at the lower level floor with an older feature....it was not bad price at all. The room was still spacious for being in Tokyo right in front of Shinagawa Station. The bathroom was old, but again decnet sized. The only letdown was I found like 3 pieces of hair in the room just stuck to the wall or on a remote control and stuff. That was gross. But the location is superb and cannot really complain for what we have paid for the room for two people.

Yelp
I last stayed at this hotel 21 years ago for a week when we relocated to Japan. It was amazing to see the changes in the area that occurred in the ensuing period. The hotel is conveniently located near Shinagawa Station and is an easy three-minute walk away. The hotel itself is clean and nicely appointed, with a restaurant on the top floor. I only ate breakfast there a few times this trip, but it was very good. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side, comparable to other hotels in the Tokyo area. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I was surprised by another review saying there isn't much to do in the area. There are many restaurant, bar, and shopping options within easy walking distance. We enjoyed crossing through the station and exploring the other side of the tracks. There was every imaginable restaurant in that area. If nothing is of interest here, it's a quick train ride to any of the other hot spots in the Tokyo area using the Yamanote Line from Shinagawa Station. Finally, I departed from Haneda Airport, and it was a quick 20-minute non-stop ride, so this was very convenient. My second stay, separated by over two decades, was enjoyable and I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
So many perks to staying at this hotel if your visiting from out of the country. The rooms are a bit small for price but you're also near shopping and food as well as across from the train station which is a must in Tokyo. Also the views of the city are wonderful. This place is massive. They have an aquarium with dolphins in it and multiple levels of shopping. Great for random slow days and finding stuff. There's also a 7 eleven and store in there so you don't have to wander and hope for the best. Rooms are well, a room. If it has the fridge and amenities that really you would need and always clean. Zero complaints. There is also a bus that will take you to and from the airport every hour so transportation is easy.

Yelp
First night ever in Japan and a short walking distance from the Shinagawa Train station is a true great benefit. Very friendly and kind staff and nice hotel within the super convenient location. We stayed the 1st 2 nights and then left to Hiroshima and came back to our final night before we left to the airport. I forgot and left my medication on our first stay but when we checked in for the 2nd time, they brought back my medication I left by mistake in the room.

Yelp
I name this the most convenient hotel in Tokyo. Shinagawa is located towards the souther part of Tokyo. This hotel is located right across the street from the Shinagawa MTR / JR stations, so it is convenient to get in and out of the hotel for day trips. The Shinagawa Hotel boasts three buildings - Main Tower, Annex Tower, and the North Tower. This place is super busy always, as they have a lot of weddings and company celebrations here. The rooms are a bit on the small side (as what can be expected for Japanese hotels). The maid service is super fast and efficient. I like the customer service here at the hotel. The concierge staff are outstanding. I also like that they hold your luggage for a few days or a few hours if you need to go to another city or need to check out and come back for your belongings!

Yelp
The Shinagawa Prince Hotel "N-Tower" is the best kept secret for the business traveler secret in Tokyo. (This is not a review for any of the other towers) This is not a fancy Western hotel and its not a tiny Japanese hotel either. What you get when you stay at the N-Tower is perfectly adequate amenities at an amazingly low price. The location, the rooms, the business center and the staff are all absolutely wonderful. Trips to Tokyo are never the same when I can't say there and I'm always gun wrenched when I can't book a room last minute. So first let me make it very clear how great a location this is. I always like to say that Shinagawa Station is life. It is where the NEX train drops you off, its one of the main JR line transit center, there are amazing restaurants in and around the station, most corporate buildings are located here and its just across the street from the the hotel which not only makes it super easy to find a train, but also find a taxi any time of the day. The rooms are just wonderful and I'm speaking of the "Semi Double Rooms". There are a very nice size with a good size bed for a large guy like myself. They are super clean, have great connectivity and a really nice desk to work at. This goes for the bathroom as well. Just big enough and very well designed. Again, this is not your typical wester hotel room, you really know that you are in Japan, but its comfortable like a well designed Honda Accord. The business center is just my absolute favorite in any hotel I've ever stayed at. The server and staff are wonderful, the room is very nice and comfortable to work in and there are free drinks and coffee to keep you going all day long. I really love this aspect of the hotel. I've mentioned the Staff a couple times now and I just can't say enough for them. Typical Japanese service and quality all around. From the front desk, to the business center all the way down to the cleaning staff. All have been great and have gone beyond their job requirements to help me out in the past. Its a smaller hotel and so over time you'll get to know many of them. So thats about it for my review of the Shinagawa Prince Hotel N-Tower. I have stayed in the other towers, but none of them are anywhere as nice as the N-Tower. Don't let the outward appearance fool you, the interior of this tower is just perfect for the business traveler in Tokyo.

Yelp
*This review is for the N Tower* This was our second stay at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. Our first was in February 2015. Both times we stayed in the N Tower which is completely non-smoking! Shinagawa Prince is extremely convenient for us tourists! It's just across the street from Shinagawa Station which is a major transportation hub and a stop for the shinkansen! *Check-In* Check in is located on the second floor of the N-Tower which is just up the spiral stairs or up the elevator. All encounters with the front desk agents were pleasant and everyone we spoke to was able to speak English! *Room* Hubby and I planned a last minute (I mean booked the day of the flight last minute!) trip to Tokyo and were able to get a room on their website. We booked a double room which is just under 180 square feet! It's a typical Japanese business hotel, so it is pretty small, but enough for us. You're in Tokyo, so you shouldn't be spending much time in your room anyway! The room somehow fits a small desk, TV, refrigerator, air purifier, electric kettle (and tea), and safe. They also offer great amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bath towel, hair dryer, toothbrush, razor, hair brush, cotton swabs, yukata and house slippers). The bathroom is pretty small, but the water pressure is great and I love the shampoo and conditioner! *Dining* This was not advertised on their website, but the N Tower offers free breakfast on the top floor. The floor is mainly for business as there are many desks, a fax machine, conference room etc. In the morning they offer a small breakfast which includes egg, sausage, pastries, yogurt, cereal, a soup of the day and coffee, tea or soft drinks. It's quite a spread for a free breakfast! *Haneda Airport Access* On our first trip we took the airport limo bus from the hotel to Haneda. Bus tickets can be purchased in the main tower and the bus stops right outside the hotel. You need to check the bus schedule to see if it works with your flight time. This time we took the train from Shinagawa Station to Haneda. It was just 410 yen and took 14 minutes. Either way was very convenient! We have made this our go to hotel while exploring Tokyo for both its convenience and cleanliness. Looking forward to more stays at this hotel in the future. I'm not sure if I will try the other towers as the N tower fits all our needs and seems less crowded than the main tower.

Yelp
Stayed in N Tower, large twin room. There's nothing crazy special or interesting abt the room. The location itself is what attracted me to the hotel. Just a short walk to the station plus there's a lovely mall area surrounding the hotel. I had breakfast at the sky dining which was beautifully designed with an epic view of Tokyo. Food was ok I wasn't impressed but the view... that's something else

Yelp
I'm giving this hotel 4 stars, but I wouldn't say it's a 4-star hotel. Stayed here as part of a group tour, so I have no clue how much I paid. Our room was pretty basic, twin beds and a cruise ship bathroom. You literally had to step up to enter the tiny bathroom. But it was clean and serviced our needs. Our 3-night stay included breakfast each morning at the Luxe Hapuna Buffet. Loved the Japanese breakfast (they had plenty of Western fare as well) but it was each person for themselves in the buffet line. If you aren't assertive you'll get mowed down and never serve yourself a plate. Overall, a positive experience at the Shinagawa Prince.

Yelp
Tokyo was actually the LAST stop on my Japanese trip (I took the train south to Hiroshima and worked my way back) and I wasn't 100% sure of my timeline, so I just booked a hotel sort of on the fly, seeing what I could find for a decent price and wound up at the Shinagawa Prince. It was my first time in Tokyo, the price was right on Expedia and it was close to public transit (I was coming from Kyoto and it was on the way without needing to transfer) so it worked just fine for me. I do regret not knowing better and staying in Shibuya or Shinjuku (a LOT more to do and see) but I didn't really know better at the time. Oh well, next time. At any rate, the hotel is just a few steps from the Shinagawa Station and there are plenty of food and drink options nearby. The hotel itself is quite nice, very clean and the twin room (I stayed with a friend) was actually quite spacious by Japanese standards. Being able to walk around the room was a novelty, believe it or not! Has free Wi-Fi which is still not a given in Japan, oddly enough, so that's a plus and the 'limousine bus' that runs right from the hotel to Narita Airport which is quite convenient. The hotel was very clean, good washroom facilities, really nothing to complain about. Also, a fairly nice view (I was on the 36th floor) and the staff were courteous and helpful with more than adequate English language skills. Sadly I did not get the chance to use the bowling alley! Would stay again if I were, for some reason, inclined to stay in that area of Tokyo and the price was right through Expedia et al., though again, would much rather go with Shibuya or Shinjuku knowing what I know now. Still, no complaints and a very nice hotel.

Yelp
A very convenient hotel just across Shinagawa Station. We got a booking reservation in the East building and it was not that impressive. Just a normal business hotel. The staff were very nice and gave in to my request when I requested to switched to a non-smoking room. The room is clean and with an ensuite bathroom. Free wifi. Check out is hassle free, just drop your key at the express checkout box in the lobby. Very convenient hotel.

Yelp
If you're visiting Tokyo, look into staying in Shinagawa (it's relatively quiet and conveniently located as quite a few major JR lines stop here in addition to trains to Haneda and Narita). There are heaps of shops and restaurants around here along with convenient stores. I stayed here for three nights; when you check in, you pay at the machine, which activates your room key. The room is compact, but not super tiny where you'll feel claustrophobic. WiFi in the room was free and extremely fast. If you're looking to stay here, I would recommend checking out deals on their website as it was cheaper for me to book directly through the hotel rather than use Expedia. Good for: tourists

Yelp
Quite a disappointing stay here at the SPH. We stayed in the annex which was undergoing renovations. Our room was on the 23rd floor and small which was expected given that we were staying in Japan. However, the bathroom was the most disgusting outdated bathroom. The toilet smelled like sewage and I could not stand to even shower in it. Good water pressure on the shower and nice that they include full size shampoo and conditioner along with toiletries but this is the norm in Japan. Room decor and bed were very outdated and pillows were not comfortable at all. Aside from being in a convenient location I cannot believe this place is still in business. Will likely never stay here again, nor recommend it to family and friends. Maybe the main tower is better but definitely do not stay at the annex.

Yelp
Stayed at the North Tower. Room was very clean. Service excellent. I had Harry the robot deliver a beer to my room. It was great fun. A first for me. Hotel is very close to the Shinagawa train station and well placed for Tokyo sightseeing. This is my third visit to the hotel. It's always been delightful.

Yelp
I spent 6 nights at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel in September 2017. It's a nice hotel. Tokyo is a very expensive city and I feel you don't get much for your money especially at this hotel. If you want to use the gym it's $25. If you want to use the swimming pool it's $20. They have a coin operated laundry room and the dryers are 300 yen a load but don't dry your clothes. The rooms are SO SMALL! I know, it's Tokyo. I did like the location of the hotel which is very convenient and adjacent to Shinagawa Station. Lots of food and dining options in a short walkable distance.

Yelp
This hotel is a very, very good value for your money. I'm so glad I stayed here during my most recent visit. The size of the rooms (relative to other Tokyo hotels), location, convenience, and amenities makes this place a great choice if you are staying in the Tokyo area. The rooms are not dinky small like your typical room in big cities in Japan. You actually get a decent amount of space even for the basic room. The bed was decently sized and I could actually walk around a bit with my luggage open. The location is outstanding. It is directly across the street from Shinagawa station. Just exit the Takanawa exit (aka the West exit) and walk right across the street into the mall. You will be led right into the hotel. No need for a taxi, no need to walk any more than 5 minutes. In fact you can see this giant hotel right when you exit the station from said Takanawa exit. If you wanted to, you really don't have to leave the hotel premises. This hotel has everything. A nice shopping mall, plenty of good restaurants, a bowling alley, movie theater, and an aquarium to boot. It has four towers as well so there are plenty of rooms available. A nice thing that many nicer hotels are doing, including this one, is that they provide you with a free cell phone to use. It's not the latest iphone whatever or anything like that, but you can make free local calls and even do some basic browsing. All included in your room. This actually came in handy for me one night so I'm glad it was there. And you can get anywhere you need from Shinagawa Station, because it's a hub station. It's so easy. If you are coming in from Narita Airport, the Narita Express stops here as well. No need to transfer or anything. I booked this place through booking.com and the price ended up being about $125 per night which I felt was outstanding. So why not 5 stars? The hotel is showing it's age a bit. And the self check-in kiosk didn't work for me, so that kind of irked me because I love self check-in and check-out systems. But other than that, I'm considering staying here every time I visit Tokyo.

Yelp
Service is great! Atmosphere is great! I stayed for a night for business. It was clean except for the chairs in the room.

Yelp
Located very very close to the Shinagawa train station, this hotel is a hub for tourists, business personnel as well as international travelers. I stayed on the 29th floor, in a room with twin beds. Very small for a western style hotel. Both shower and deep bathtub in the bathroom. Amenities were excellent, wrapped toothbrushes, shower caps, razors etc provided. This hotel, as most hotels in Japan provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash and face soap. I was very impressed with the ecofriendly aspects of it all. Breakfast coupons were included in our stay. We had the choice of a western style buffet, Japanese style buffet or a set course of Chinese breakfast. My favorite was at the Hapuna western located on the second floor. There is a 7-11 convenience store right outside of the hotel. Though very busy in the morning and late afternoon, you can find all your last minute essentials and food items there.

Yelp
Good Hotel, good Location near train station and several restaurants. Most restaurants close before 23:00 in the hood No lounge, but they do have a Resturant for bfast and a 7/11 nearby for snacks and drinks. Good AC in room this visit, crummy AC last visit. Decent size even rooms, could be called large by Tokyo standards. Great bathrooms, good beds. Nice garden attached to property.

Yelp
When I am asked where a good place to stay in the Tokyo area I always recommend the Shinagawa Prince. My husband and I stayed in a little room on the 36th floor with a view of Tokyo tower. The room was small but clean and suffice. I would imagine for Japan it's is decently sized. The location is convenient. The Shinagawa Station is a major train station. Therefore you can pretty much get anywhere with ease and with few or no transfers. The hotel is affordable. For the amenities and services provided it is a good deal. My hubby and I utilized the concierge service daily to get directions to our destination. Some spoke English and some spoke very little English but they always tried their best. There also is free wifi, a bowling center, and some good dining options on premise and also nearby. All in all, my first choice in Tokyo for accommodations!!
