I was disappointed as I booked the hotel because it was close to Angkor Wat. I heared there is a possibility of renting a bike to explore the temple. But the nearby bike rental closed due to Covid, which I had to find out myself. I was sent to the city to organize a bicycle and also the trip to my next destination. I also only learned that I need to buy a pass for the temple area in another destination. Also the washing couldn't be done because was the wrong day. I expect better and more precise information from the hotel. The staff was friendly though, but not very helpful. Also, the place looks like a storage room for Cambodian mass produced art, or the life-size inside of one of those shrines, including joss sticks and it was dark and had a slightly mouldy smell. So you have to like that...This was my individual impression, other people may enjoy it better.

We were travelling with in a group of twelve people. We were met at the airport by a van that took us directly to the hotel. What a surprise, the decor was lovely carved wood, the staircase was incredible, and there was lovely art all over the hotel. Most importantly, it was cool inside, and we were offered cold drinks while we waited to be assigned to our rooms. The room was lovely and spacious with a nice balcony, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and full of towels and the other necessities. All areas of the hotel were impeccably clean!||||Breakfast in the morning was good, nice to walk downstairs and have a choice of different styles of meals, we opted for the traditional local cuisine instead of the American style breakfasts.||||All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, always greeted us with a smile. I felt like a special guest!||||My husband and I also had several massages while we were there, we could ask and within an hour someone was there to give us a reasonably priced massage. We also sent our clothes to be laundered, had them back at the end of the day for a nominal fee.||||I also spent quite a bit of time in the pool, it was small but large enough to relax in and it was always nice and cool after a long hot day sightseeing.||||I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone staying in Siem Reap. I would recommend hiring tuk tuks for your travels, we had ours waiting for us every morning in a group, they took care of the entry fees and other particulars that we would have been uncertain about.

The Shining Angkor is a small, charming, French colonial style hotel located in a quiet neighborhood. The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the small balcony a nice place to sit with a drink in the evening. The staff are very helpful and organized a three-day tuk tuk tour of the temple area at a very reasonable price. I would have given a "5" but the breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. Still, I would happily return. The ambience is wonderful.

The resort (this is not an ordinary Hotel ) is a real boutique in a calm area but not at all far from the places to be visited, either shopping , attractions and entertainment. The location of the hotel is in the center of the city. The rooms are spacious well maintained ; 24 hours hot water and air conditioning . the staff are always smiling , listening and attentive. The Manager , Mr . Kong Mony is a very nice gentleman and so helpful. He speaks very good English and helps you so much that you don't feel you are in such far away place. The best thing is that if you e-mail him,he will reply to you within 5 minutes. The best thing we experienced during our stay there for 8 days is their Tuk Tuk Driver , Mr. Poonay who is so responsible that he takes care of you as a driver, a friend, a guide and a body guard. With him you are very safe. For the price they charge, this resort is superb. Go, stay here d enjoy. You can not find a better deal than this to stay in Siem Reap, that is for sure.

Clean and decent sized room, power points weren't close to the beds which was a little annoying. Great spot in between Angkor and the city - meant we got to sleep in a little longer before sunrise than if we stayed right in Siem Reap. Pool looked nice but we didn't use it. Staff were great, when we got back after our day out at the temples we could have used the shower near the pool to tidy up (as we had checked out that morning), but we also wanted a nap so they let us use a room for a few hours for $15 US which was heaven (also considering we got soaked with rain in the afternoon was nice to have an actual room to use for showers / nap and finding dry clothes!

Hotel staff speaks English. Buying amenities is not as accessible in this area and you may have to head to town (about 10mins tuk tuk ride) to get your necessities. Hotel room is decent and very clean. ||||Free breakfast is not buffet but a la carte. I recommend this hotel if you are not looking for anything lavish and on the less extravagant lodging budget.

Pros|Large rooms fully equipped some with balcony.|Very comfortable bed. Mosquito nets on beds.|Located between city center and the temples in a quiet area.|Very welcoming staff. Very helpful in organizing sightseeing’s visit. |Standard breakfast. Average restaurant with a variety of local dishes. Reasonably priced.||Cons|We ordered a room for four nights in “Angkor shining apartments”. on arrival it was deserted. After a long search ended up in “Angkor shining boutique hotel”. Took a while to find which is which.|Tiny swimming pool.|No elevator! Needed if your room is on third flour.|Hot water in showers not always working.|Bikes offered to us were in very poor condition and practically impossible to ride. |Not all water bottles in the room are for free. Read the little letters before use.|Confusion about free airport transfer offered: it is only on arrival and not on departure (check out) - again, read the small letters and inquire.|It left a very bad taste to argue about water and airport transfer on check out so we just paid and left. |It felt to us like the receptionist was aware of the misunderstanding due to happen and was just “waiting to collect”. |The whole place is crowded with very heavy and very dark furniture, statues, books and out of date papers that makes a very thick and heavy atmosphere.|Tube TV in very bad quality and cable that works part time.|Cannot recommend.|In general: this place needs to upgrade its design, policy and attitude!!!|

I stayed here with my family and would in the future not pick this hotel again, due to its location and limited breakfast options.|As it is 2 km to the city centre you are obliged to take a tuk tuk. The hotel offers tuk tuk services but will charge you 2 usd. I suggest you install the passapp which lets you ride a tuktuk with fixed charges and gets you from point a to b without any hastle. |The breakfast is a la carte. You get a small fruit platter with a drink and your chosen item of the menu, but there are nicer places in Siem Reap to have breakfast.|Rooms are nice, spacious and clean. Swimming pool is small but enjoyable. Staff is friendly and can speak english.|All in all, it was an okay stay, but in the future I would chose another place in Siem Reap.|
