Shinola Venice Store

I wanted to gift a watch to my boyfriend so he could keep a family heirloom safe from everyday wear. The team at Shinola Venice greeted me with warmth and were very passionate about their products. Heather showed me their audio lounge and offered to host a surprise shopping experience for my bf. We picked out 5 watches that were in my budget and the style I knew he’d like, and she let me pick his favorite music from their record collection. I brought him in a week later pretending we were just browsing Abbot Kinney, Heather had everything set up in their room behind the secret bookcase with the record player on and the watches I picked laid out. My boyfriend was speechless! He picked the gold Runwell chronograph, wears it everyday, and still talks about the experience.

I bought my first Shinola watch. I love it. Heather was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She helped me find the perfect fit for me. Thank you so much Heather.

I needed a watch to replace my late father's that I always wore. Heather created a shopping experience that I have never had before or since. It sounds like hyperbole but I'm serious. She let me take my time in choosing the right watch and was knowledgeable about each piece and its history. I came away with a watch that still honored my dad’s piece while adding some extra comfort and flair. So good!

Got a keychain embossed for my brother’s birthday. They were extremely friendly and embossed it on the spot! Open the package later that night to discover the embossing was crooked. Went back the following day, was told they cannot replace it for me regardless of the fact that it was a mistake on their end, and I could buy another one for 50% off. I knew embossing typically warrants final sale but I was very disappointed in the demeanor of the sales associate and the fact that they would not replace it.

Very friendly staff! All staff were very helpful and resourceful. You’ll get the experience you’d have at a high end European luxury brand stores, with a true and true American company. The store is very welcoming and engaging. I had some watches that needed battery change. The Watch repair expert was very helpful and professional. She explained the process and finished 4 watches in under 45 minutes. I also bought a pen and the sales associate went above and beyond call of duty to honor my military status. I appreciated everyone!

Just took my watch to the AK store this morning when it opened, for a battery replacement. The two people who helped me were fantastic and assured me that I could have it back in time for my flight to Vancouver tomorrow morning. 🙏🙏🙏 Nice nice people at this store. Love the merchandise and overall experience!

I love the watches but Shinola’s leather watch bands went down in quality. They’re mediocre and made out of cheap leather that comes apart a year later (just out of warranty). Get the watch here but the watch strap somewhere else

I stopped in to browse a few times, the team was all so passionate about the brand I decided to take home a leather duffle bag that I know I’ll have for years. Heather offered us drinks, showed off their hidden audio lounge, and monogrammed the bag strap to personalize it for me. Everyone on their team was professional and fun. Definitely one of my most memorable moments on Abbot Kinney, and Heather is one of the most pleasant people I’ve had the pleasure shopping with.

I love the new Celestial watch that just came out, it's so beautiful and dreamy. Heather was very knowledgeable and helpful, actually the whole staff was quite friendly and welcoming. I will be back!

I called first about a product and heather was awesome. I couldn't wait so I drove down in traffic to check it out. I went in thinking I wanted something dainty but after a personalized shopping experience and her patience, I ended up getting a gorgeous Birdy with jasper stone. Heather was so helpful and made me feel like I'd be welcome back. If Venice wasn't such a drive I'd spend more of my pocketbook here. I was so tempted to buy the green rivet bag especially as Wicked is hitting theatres; I even wore a green shirt on accident Bonus that the watch I chose was cheaper than my original I had in mind. Who needs an omega when you have Shinola? I've been dreaming about this brand as a little girl when my dad first told me about it. I bought my first shinola years back and lost it. I am so excited to be back! #flyANDontime

Horrible watches just break for no reason.. horrible company, horrible service. I just can't begin to even type what I experienced with this place. Employees in the store seem to hate it there which should've been the first red flag. Never again.

I needed a battery replacement on my Birdy watch, so I made an appointment online to stop in for the repair. Well.. life happened, and I finally made it in 2 hours late. The kind associate (Craven- sp?) was super understanding, and he got me registered, replaced and out the door in about 20 mins. The website suggested that the watch might need to be dropped off so I was elated to hear that he could do the work right away and on site. Had a great experience chatting with other associates while I waited, and can't wait to visit the store again. A+ associates, beautiful merchandise and store design

I'm disappointed with the quality of the band. Accordingly the salesman, water can cause the band to split. I've never soaked my band, only exposed to moisture from personal sweat and when washing hands. Bands also have zero warranty.

I walked in with three friends to explore the shop. The sales staff refused to acknowledge our presence or even make eye contact. This was on April 22, 2022 in case anyone at the company is monitoring this yelp page. It was truly remarkable how passive aggressive both of the people working in the store seemed. Then, after ten minutes in the store, the woman asked, "do you have any questions". Yes, why are you so rude to new customers coming into your store? The is my question.

These watches are always breaking down. I have 3 of them and at firsts they worked well. After a couple of years they start malfunctioning and the parts start to come apart. There are better choices out there for the same price. Sorry Shinola, I really wanted to like you and the vision.

Do not get emotionally connected to Shinola watches, they simply don't deserve it. They are not made in America, they are assembled here from pre-fabricated parts coming from China, Japan, and Switzerland. The leather products are good and are made in the USA. There are 1000 better watch brands, Seiko, Hamilton, Tissot, Nomos, Orient, Mr. Jones Watches, Oris, Laco, Movado, Bulova,Tag Heuer, Meistersinger, even Russian brand Vostok, which produce better quality automatic movements at a much cheaper price. Shinola is shamelessly selling cheap quartz movements for three times what they should. Their automatic movements are "average" at best and a $250 Orient divers, or an $800 Seiko prospex divers outperforms their $1500 Seasmonster in every way. Don't buy a Shinola Watch, you'll regret it. Buy their leather and other products.

I have been coming to this store for years and the quality and customer service have really gone down hill. I tried to exchange a watch strap that I received as a birthday present and was rudely treated by the staff. They were extremely disrespectful and I will no longer be purchasing Shinola products.

It's a cool brand and fun store to browse. I discovered and bought a very cool pen here (CW&T Pen Type B). Sadly they didn't have any fresh ones in their inventory, but they were able to locate one elsewhere and send it to me. Unfortunately the order was messed up and I got the wrong item, however they were quite apologetic and it all was quickly worked out (including a bonus monogramed notebook for my troubles). Really appreciated their efforts and I'll certainly buy from them again. Been using my pen and little notebook all the time, money well spent!

Beautiful Store with Great People! Other than having the best storefront sign on Abbot Kinney, Shinola is a place worth checking out and spending time in! They make quality products and the store is beautifully designed. Very helpful staff that are easy to talk to and are super helpful with information on their gear!

I love this store, especially the one on Abbot Kinney! A great variety of watches, bicycles, and leather goods made in Detroit. They display everything well and most of the items are available to touch and feel (you gotta touch leather). The staff here is everything - they are super well trained and knowledgeable about how everything is made and seem to be very happy to work in a place that is hip and has fun music. BONUS: they offer their own craft cola and beer to the customers at no charge. It was still daylight out, so we had sodas which were surprisingly very tasty.

High quality goods straight out of a great city with a lot to be proud of. Customer service was fantastic, and even though I (wasn't dressed as if/) couldn't walk out with everything, I was allowed to browse at my own pace and encouraged to try things on. My go-to place for gifts now.

I own three Shinola watches and all of them have the same problem, the band. I emailed them, but unfortunately, the warranty is one year only.

Beautiful, high quality products. Amazing customer service. Great store design. My weakness is individually created pieces. Each leather item in the store comes with a little note stating who the artist was that worked on it. The feel of every piece is amazing. My hands were in heaven, being able to touch every bag, every wallet, every watch. I stumbled upon this store as I walked down Abbott Kinney, desperately looking for a blank page journal. I saw some in the window and doubled back to take a look. The beautiful room in the back was stacked with a rainbow assortment. They even do free monogramming on the spot! The customer service I experienced was 5 star, for sure. We had a great conversation while she monogrammed my journal. No one was pushing me to buy anything additionally, but were available for all the questions that I did have as I walked around the store. I have found my Moleskine replacement and will be back!

Love this store!!! The aesthetic and customer service is exceptional!!!! My wife and I made a visit yesterday and walked into the store we didn't know about the brand but the store manager Ann was super helpful and very well trained on product knowledge and the stores brand initiative. I feel her insight and knowledge about the brand really made an impact. And we are looking to purchase a piece very soon because of the connection we now have with the brand. Ann, job well done!!

High class. All items are made in Detroit with care and a lot of quality. The shop on Abbot Kinney's modern with fun music and a friendly staff. They have beautiful watches, cool leather bags and backpacks and other household accessories. They've been open for a week in Venice and I hope they stick around.

Best served ever. My fiancé and I were on our mini vacation when we stumbled in. I have always lived an admired Shinola. The store layout is quite beautiful. As we were admiring the products, we were greeted by Jared, who just started having a nice conversation with us. He told us about the product without being pushy. He let us walk around and and try on a few watches. I was admiring the women's version of the watch he was wearing. He let me try it on and gave me his personal experience of the watch. He was attentive and friendly, even through we just said we just there to admire the product. I ended up loving the watch but wanted to sleep on it. We came back the next day to buy the watch. Jared helped us with the purchase and continued took great care to let me know how to care for the watch. He answered all of my questions without ever becoming impatient. Everyone else who worked there were super friendly as well. A few weeks later I received a personalized thank card from him. It left a great ending to our experience! I love my new watch, but I probably would not have bought it had I not had that great in store experience! Thank you Jared and Shinola!

Had a bunch of journals monogrammed here for the holidays. They accidentally gave me the bag that was incomplete right before a holiday luncheon I was about to attend. I was unable to get back there in time, and someone from the store brought them to my house! A+ service... Special shout out to Danielle for making it happen!

I went in to get a last minute anniversary gift for my wife(changed my mind, didn't forget) yesterday. Turned out the color I wanted wasn't in stock. Jared looked up what other stores might have it, and had it overnights from the grove free of charge. Great products and excellent customer service.

We visited the Silverlake location several times. When we found out that there was a Westside location we were so excited. I surprised my husband for our 3 year anniversary and took him to this location. He loved the experience. The team and Ann (store manager) were incredible! They have such a high standard for service. Thank you for being part of 3 year anniversary celebration.

The store is beautiful- clean, well-lit, with organized displays that aren't too overwhelming. The staff was extremely friendly without being pushy. Tarra is the best-I've spent months searching for a new purse, and she helped me find the perfect crossover bag. Only the display was left, so Tarra had one shipped directly to my house from The Grove location. Tarra emailed me to follow up and ensure it arrived. Overall it was a great experience, and I'll definitely be back.
