"Sundays are for Sunsets at Shirley Heights No visit to Antigua is complete without taking in the sunset atop Shirley Heights Lookout at its weekly Sunday sundowner party. The view from Shirley Heights is without a doubt the most famous, most photographed, most celebrated vista gracing Antigua. Immediately below, English and Falmouth Harbours clutch their bays. On clear days you can see Guadeloupe to the south and Montserrat with it's still active volcano to the south west. It does get busy, so expect a crowd and while there might be a couple locals sprinkled in here and there, it's mostly visitors. Around 7ish, the tunes crank up with either some reggae classics, some pumping soca, or even live a steelpan band. Smoke from a collection of barbecues compete with the music to fill the air and stimulate your senses. Expect chicken and ribs slathered in local flavors, plus burgers for the less adventurous. I did have some trouble getting grilled fish on my last visit, but once I found some, it was charred to perfection."
A must-do for an intimate island experience with great music, lovely views. Reggae Thursdays are supposedly quieter than Sundays but my, still very busy with a good 20-30 minute wait to get thru the food line. Didn't seem streamlined or with much verbal direction so come with patience. A few servers and cooks weren't happy to be there, others were kind. The grilled wahoo was excellent and worth the wait. Music was the best part.

Shirley heights on a Sunday is a must! Don't drive...get there early if you want to get a seat. Even with the rain we managed to get a view of a beautiful sunset. The queues for the food are long so plan in advance so you dont miss the sunset as the place fills up pretty quick. The steel band were great and the rum punch was on another level!

If you go to Nelson's Dockyard, you must stop off here first to get great views and photos of the dockyard from a high point.
There are some shops up here and a museum worth visiting. The area covered by the heights is quite large, but tour vans will surely take you to the 2 or 3 main areas.
The island you will see on he horizon is 'Montserrat.'
Because there are 3 sites called ' Shirley Heights' I have put this review and pictures on all of them.
Enjoy the heights, then Nelson's Dockyard.

Didn't have any food or drinks, so I can't comment on that. Beautiful view, though. Friends said Thursday night they have BBQ, drinks, live music.

If you’re in Antigua, YOU HAVE TO check out Shirley’s Lookout on a Sunday afternoon! There’s live local music, a cookout with amazing food, the best pain killers, and the most breathtaking view of the island. As the sun sets, a live band kicks off and the dance floor fills up. It was such a vibe and definitely a core memory!

Shirley's Heights is a beautiful scenic spot. If you like crowds and live music, go on a Thursday and Sunday. It's a fun time with music, food, vendors, and breathtaking views over English Harbor. A must-see!! There is a cover charge if you go during the 2 popular days.
