Shirley Retreat Hotel

Great for 1 night. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Shower was powerful. You can order breakfast before 5pm the night before but we arrived too late for that. Secure parking; we felt very safe. Great location for the sights we wanted to see.

While searching on Expedia, the Shirley Hotel caught my attention, offering a convenient solution to extend our stay by one day, as Spanish Court was fully booked. We booked impulsively, relying on online reviews and photographs. The hotel's location is conveniently situated off the main road, with easy access. Upon arrival, we found ample parking and received a warm welcome from the front desk staff, who assisted with luggage transport and efficient check-in. The hotel's cleanliness was consistently evident, from the lobby to our Hibiscus room. Although construction was underway next door at check-in, it had ceased by 6:00 p.m., ensuring a quiet evening. For a simple yet clean and efficient hotel, I highly recommend the Shirley Hotel. If I had to mention Cons but by all means not deal breakers: there's no elevators, or phones in the rooms, and the television only has news channels.

If you're looking for a place to rest your head at night, that has a fantastic location, and you're not fussy about much. This place is a great option. Kimona at reception was amazing and very professional! The rooms are basic, and maybe a fresh touch of paint and a couple of updates on the accessories of the room would go a long way, which would be my critique.

Really great location for anyone wanting to blend in and move about the city. Safe, clean and gives you a home feeling. The staff were absolutely nice and embodies the Jamaican hospitality. This is really a retreat. We will make this our hub in kingston.

Great stay in New Kingston easy to get to clubs and bars. TGI Fridays 5 mins walk away. 7 minutes walk to Bob Marley Museum and 35 minutes walk to shopping Center. Easy access to taxi. No lifts to rooms so you have your case up 2 flights or stairs. 24 hour Security. Make sure you get data to call taxis or Uber. Security won't call your taxis. You have to pay for Breakfast. Small portion for 1 serving.|No fridge in room, access to Microwave in dining room. Clean rooms but bathroom tiles need updating.|I would stay again as prices were affordable.

A calm and safe week at Shirley’s retreat had me ready to take over the world. Very clean space to rest after a sunny day out enjoying the sun in Kingston. Breakfast is fresh and so delicious.The hospitality, the cleanliness, the great customer service will have us both back for more.

Nice and affordable. 24 hour security and secure rooms. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Good AC, cable, and hot water. Might I suggest adding a lamp. Our room only had a single bulb on the wall away from the beds so we had to get up to turn the lights on and off. Also no shade on the bulb so light is bright and obtrusive in your eyes. Heads up, weekends get a bit noisy on the streets. Not the hotels fault or problem, I always travel with ear plugs and you are in a major capital city so street noise should be expected. Staff is attentive, professional, and thoughtful. Overall a great hotel and I would stay here again.
