Shiroiya Hotel

My wife and I stayed at Shiroiya Hotel, and it was quite simply the finest hotel experience I have ever had. We booked a standard deluxe room, yet even this entry-level accommodation ranks among the best rooms I’ve stayed in anywhere. It was beautifully appointed and thoughtfully curated, featuring artwork from a single artist that gave the space a cohesive and contemplative feel.||The lobby and shared spaces were nothing short of extraordinary—among the most visually breathtaking hotel environments I’ve ever encountered. The architecture and art created a sense of awe; no matter where your eyes landed, you were met with a carefully composed, gallery-like view. My wife and I especially loved spending time in the serene lobby, surrounded by plants and artwork, enjoying the complimentary evening drinks in an atmosphere of quiet comfort and elegance.||The absolute highlight, however, was dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Dining on the course menu by Hiro Katayama and his team was the finest dining experience of my life. The choreography of the evening—the chef, sous chefs, and servers working in seamless harmony—was masterful. Each course was visually stunning, and every time, that visual beauty was followed by flavors that were even more astonishing. It was impossible to choose a favorite dish.||Our only regret was staying just one night. We were en route to Kusatsu Onsen, but by the end of our stay, my wife and I both agreed we should have spent at least another night in Maebashi at Shiroiya Hotel.

Nice hotel to pay a visit with family! Cool decoration of hotel. There is a free drinking bar with all you can drink wine that you can enjoy it with your friends until 23PM. It is so sad that we didn’t know it until we check in at 22PM. Please do remember to enjoy it. Dinner was excellent, and the designer room was beautiful and thoughtfully done. I also loved the cookies and cakes from the patisserie shop — everything was delicious. Overall, a wonderful stay.

2025.10 Lucky to get a room this weekend at this hotel for an immersive modern art and gourmet stay. Everything perfectly curated and all hotel staff members so nice making it warm hospitality. Highly recommend!

Shiroiya Hotel is one of the most unique places I’ve ever stayed. The design is super cool—art everywhere, from the rooms to the hallways, and every corner feels like a mini gallery. The mix of old and modern architecture is done so well. I stayed in one of the art rooms and it was both cozy and inspiring. Big bonus: there’s a Blue Bottle Coffee right inside the hotel, perfect for slow mornings or an afternoon pick-me-up. The staff were friendly, the sauna was great, and the location made it easy to explore Maebashi. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into design, art, and good coffee.

Stunning hotel, incredibly helpful and beautiful staff and the most beautiful luxurious hotel . Just wow. Words can't explain how much of a jewel this hotel is. Highly recommended you visit and enjoy the " open kitchen" dinner, stunning beyond words, a sensory overload of visual and taste delights with stunning fresh ingredients and flavours and the best team ever working to " take charge of your happiness" in every possible way. They provided a full gluten free menu which was equally spectacular. Could not be happier with how we well were treated...felt like royalty

The main building inside is beautiful. On a sunny day, the light creates artistic beautiful scenery. Such well designed space. Our room was very comfortable - in modern style. Enjoyed free drinks (apple juice and beer) and mini pastry. I wish there were spa facilities and gym. They have a few saunas but it was extra charge.

One of the coolest design hotels I have ever stayed in. The food is fantastic, service is excellent. Every room is designed by another famous designer/architect. The hotel is located in an up and coming area, many new cafes, shops and restaurants have just started in the vicinity.
