Shivapuri Heights Cottage

We spent two weeks at Shivapuri Heights - what an amazing place! The views over the city and hills nearby were unbeatable, but it was not just that: the space itself was beautiful, with so many flowers, birds, butterflies... and decorated both indoors and outdoors with such good taste! The meals were delicious, and the owners and staff were very friendly and kind :) The city was far enough to feel in the nature, but close enough to go there any day as needed. Highly recommended!

This is an absolutely beautiful place. Run by duo of foreigner and Nepali, this place nestled between shivapuri Jungle is your perfect gateway place. Just 10 minutes drive from Budhanilkantha, you get a royal treatment upon reaching. There are cottages, plunge pool, Jacuzzi, restaurant. The view and ambiance is great. Food, except few, was great. The staffs are too hospitable. Also, you can take your own liquor without extra charge. Overall, this is one of the great example of hospitality around Kathmandu.

I had a truly memorable stay at Shivapuri Heights Cottage. I got to experience both the cottage and their unique Tibetan yurt with a private jacuzzi—and I must say, the yurt was something special! The jacuzzi also had a stunning view of the Kathmandu valley.|What made the stay even more special was the amazing staff. A big thank you to Ramita didi, who was incredibly warm and made us feel right at home. The owners were also very hospitable and friendly, always checking in to ensure everything was perfect.|If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with beautiful view, this is the place to be!

We spent our first few days and nights in Kathmandu at this wonderful, charming resort. The location is perfect—close enough to the city yet perched a few hundred meters above it, right next to Shivapuri National Park. Steve, Neeru, and their lovely team have created a truly personal hideaway. We enjoyed the impeccable service of this family-run resort, making it the perfect place to acclimate to Kathmandu’s vibrant energy before setting off on our trekking adventure.

We spent four nights at the Shivapuri Heights Cottages after a trek around Manaslu. We booked both tents on the property.||The tents were super comfortable and clean, with everything one could need provided. They were well located, especially for us, with a view over suitable habitat for birding, in particular for searching for Nepal’s only endemic bird species, the Spiny Babbler. We managed to see 57 species of birds on the property alone.||The staff, managed by the amazing Ramita Tamang, were superb, friendly, attentive, and made our stay truly special - dhanyabad!||The food was exceptional - high quality and tasty home cooking using locally sourced (from the property!) fresh ingredients - what could be better?! It was the best food we ate in our two months of travelling through India and Nepal! Meals were served on the terrace of the main building with commanding views over the Kathmandu Valley - what a view!||The property was perfectly located for hiking in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, as well as exploring the many surprises and hidden gems in the Bhudanilkantha area.||Steve, one of the owners of the property, gave us a fantastic recommendation for a restaurant in Bhaktapur - thanks, Steve, Tusa was excellent!||The best compliment one can pay in a review is to indicate whether one would visit again - absolutely, we certainly hope to!

Absolutely loved my stay at Shivapuri Heights Cottages! I was there for just one night, but everything exceeded expectations. The hospitality was genuinely amazing—so warm, welcoming, and attentive. "Lila Didi" was more like a family member to us, rather than a staff, making us feel so welcoming to this place.The peaceful atmosphere, cozy room, and stunning views made it feel like a perfect getaway. And the food? Simply AWESOME—fresh directly from their garden, flavorful, and made with love. Highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking to unwind and recharge.

I had a fantastic Workaway experience at Shivapuri Cottage Resort. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel at home right away. Steve and Neeru, the owners, were such wonderful people kind, supportive, and always ensuring everything ran smoothly.||The location itself is beautiful, with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere.
