Australia's 'Humpback Highway' Takes Whale Watchers From Coastal Towns to the Great Barrier Reef

Visited SBCC for dinner with some friends and was very impressed by the great location and food available. The views were beautiful and the decor in The Patio very pleasant. I had a lovely pizza, and some great cocktails. Most of the staff and security were very kind, however we had an unpleasant experience with one of the bartenders downstairs who was very blunt and rude with no manners at all, even after we greeted her. Apart from this - a great venue and experience!

Arrived late in the night unsure if we were going to get a table but Holly on the front door went the extra mile to get us in and even with a view after mentioning it was our first time !! Food was exceptional, Tayla helped us with our food, she was so kind and has great knowledge of the menu. Having the live music setting the good vibes for the night. Overall such an unreal experience, will definitely be back (especially for the prawn rolls and prawn bucket)

We shared a pizza for lunch between 2 adults. The Patio has air-conditioned indoor and covered outdoor dining areas with a great view of the bay. Plenty of choice on the menu, prices reasonable. Plenty more seating in the Mermaids dining area on the ground floor. Same menu, but there is also ice-cream for the kids in this area. Waitstaff friendly and efficient. First time to the bay and loved the vibe of this club. Would definitely go back again for lunch here. We drove from East Maitland, which only 50 minutes. Worthwhile as we had a swim in the bay after lunch. Highly recommend it.

We booked a balcony room at the Ramada which was large with stunning view. Furnishings were very stylish and clean. Kitchen lovely and very well stocked with equipment. Bathroom a bit dated and not enough counter, shower pressure was fabulous which I love. Air con wasn't quiet cold enough at 20⁰ for us oldies. We had pizza from mermaids which QR code order from the room was great. We have lunch at the patio very nice. And Christmas day lunch at Atmos which was sensational! Would highly recommend.

Absolutely appalling experience on Christmas Day at the downstairs bar. The staff behind the bar were incredibly rude, disrespectful and completely unprofessional. We met friends for a casual Christmas drink after already having a large Christmas lunch with our families. We were told we would not be served alcohol unless we could provide a food receipt, as customers apparently “have to buy food.” This was never clearly or calmly explained to us. Despite this, we complied and purchased a bowl of chips — which was fine. What was not fine was the way we were spoken to afterwards. Two staff members (a man and a woman, both with dreadlocks tied into buns) were aggressive, dismissive and argumentative. The male staff member went as far as threatening to refuse us service altogether, rather than politely explaining the licensing requirements or handling the situation with any professionalism or respect. There was absolutely no need for the hostility. We were polite, sober customers simply trying to enjoy a drink on Christmas Day. The way we were treated was embarrassing and completely unacceptable, especially on a day like christmas day that is unbelievably hard for some. Hospitality is about service and communication — both were severely lacking here. I would strongly discourage others from visiting if this is how customers are spoken to. Never coming back!

Teagan was the best person we have run into in a long time. At this time of year with the high volume of trade, we truly appreciate being looked after so amazingly. Although we are locals, we chose to brave it he alfresco dining area on a sunday afternoon in peak summer holidays and we were not disappointed. Teagan you will forever have our praise and continue to shine 💛

We had dinner upstairs at the Country Club Hotel and it was such a great experience! Tegan, the manager, was absolutely amazing — so friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. You can really tell she cares about the guests and runs things beautifully. And a big shoutout to the lovely girl with the New Zealand accent — she was just as fantastic! So kind, helpful, and full of good vibes all night. Thanks to the whole team for making it such an easy, relaxed, and enjoyable night. We’ll definitely be back!

Yelp
Overpriced rubbish foodwould not go there again if you paid for me would have to be the worst pizzas I have ever had it is wrong that they can get away with it

Yelp
Terrible service. First rule to running a restaurant is to ensure all food comes out at the same time. The pizza my husband and I ordered came out before our sons kids meal. But wait our salad never arrived. It wasn't even that busy. Would hate to think how this business operate in summer. Terrible service and food all around. All Food and drinks are way over priced and not worth it. They are trying to think that they are in Double Bay Sydney. Will never go here again. Miss the original Country club where they did things right. Bring back the days when the country club was good and had real atmosphere. Don't rush here anytime soon, your not missing anything

Yelp
Came here for breakfast the other day, and was very disappointed both with the food and the service. It was late-ish on a Saturday morning, and the cafe was not what I would consider to be particularly busy, and appeared to be well-staffed. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, and by the time it got to the table, it was already halfway cold. The eggs were cooked nicely (firm whites, runny yolks, just how I like them), but the beans were very much undercooked, and the avocado salsa was a bland, flavourless mush. Another friend of mine, who also ordered the Huevos but with the addition of cheese, got such a confused look from the register staff it was as if he'd spontaneously sprouted horns. After breakfast, feeling thirsty, I went up to the counter to order a soft drink. Despite assuring the staff that I'd be happy to simply take the bottle (which was in a fridge right behind them), I was told that they didn't do that, and that they'd bring it out to the table. I returned to the table, and had to wait 15 minutes before the drink was brought out. How the hell does it take 15 mins to pour a drink into a glass? Sorry, but I don't think I'll be coming here again.
