Spacious room, good location for both sunrise and sunset and close proximity to Angel path. Kaiseki dinner is delicious and serving was huge, but a little too heavy on fish variety. Lots of space to walk around in the hotel.

I regret planning a three-night stay here for my entire family. This hotel is unfortunately quite outdated. The only positive aspects are its excellent location right next to the famous Angel Road (天使の之路) and its proximity to the seaport. However, we were served the exact same breakfast buffet for all three days, which became very repetitive. Furthermore, the public onsen (hot spring bath) had a ceiling that looked quite dirty, and we noticed several other unclean areas throughout the hotel premises. Overall, the hotel needs refurbishment and better maintenance.

Came here during my school mid-term break for two nights and stayed at the rooms with your own private onsen located on the 6th floor. The rooms are great; complimentary snacks and a nice view of the tourist attraction Angel road.

I can handle the fact that much of this hotel is outdated and worn-out. But what bothers me is that some areas are dirty and actually smell bad. We were on the sixth floor and as soon as the elevator door opened you could smell the old and dirty looking carpet in the hallway. I get that it would take hundreds of millions of yen to truly renovate this place to the standard that it deserves, but at least they could change out this very old carpet. Other areas were also bad, such as the hallway leading to the gallery area of the hotel, which is dark (not one light) and dank. Our room was OK, though worn out, including scratched up furniture and worn areas around door handles, etc. Some areas of the hotel have clearly been updated and are quite nice. The lobby is great, the 2nd floor restaurant was clean and well maintained, and the outdoor hot tub in our room was VERY nice and appears to have been recently renovated. The food was a bit of a mix: breakfast was not very good but we had booked with the dining option and the dinner was very good. Staff and service were excellent. Overall, I would not go back unless they did a major renovation. This is a great location and the view is amazing. But it needs a complete rebuild.

I stay with a package that included one night and two meals, along with a stunning view of Angel Road. The view from my room was great||For dinner, I had a local sashimi and beef set meal with 11 dishes, plus unlimited sōmen and udon. The highlight for me was the local dipping sauce—it became my main dish because it was so delicious! Every day brought a new surprise.||Breakfast was another wonderful experience, featuring a variety of local tsukemono (Japanese pickles). The miso soup was especially surprising—not the usual kind, but a rich and flavorful white miso soup. I loved it so much that I had three bowls! Lucky it is a buffet!!||The hotel also has an incredible hot spring, with both an indoor pool and a small outdoor pool. The outdoor pool overlooks the ocean, and soaking in the hot spring under a 2°C sky full of stars was truly magical. I was so lucky—no one else was there after dinner at 7 PM, which made the experience even more special.||The hotel is incredibly convenient—just a 5-minute drive from the ferry pier, and they offer a free shuttle service. I arrived at 11 AM, and the hotel kindly took care of my luggage, delivering it straight to my room. I was able to check in when I returned.||A truly fantastic stay! Highly recommended.

I'm having a hard time believing heaven isn't here. I had such an amazing time and it was far better than I deserve. The extreme beauty, amazing staff, food and anything you can think of. I'm beyond fortunate to have stayed at Shodoshima International. Thank you all for giving me such a wonderful experience.

1. Right next to the beautiful Angel Road and it was a nice surprise that they gave me a room that was facing it. Spent whole afternoon staring at the view. I am grateful. 2. Except above, room is not good. Amenities were not sufficient, had to pick up basic stuff like shampoo and body soap from lobby. Shower head had water leaking so I chose to shower in their public bath on 2nd night instead. 3. Couldn’t find any electric plugs near bed. The nearest plug was like 3 metres away from bed. Very inconvenient. 4. Soundproof is not good. Could hear people talking in the next room. 5. Restaurants around the hotel closes early and randomly (not according to their stated closing times/dates) and the hotel only provides dinner to visitors who made dinner reservation. 6. Breakfast not as impressive as other hotels of the same grade.
