I’ve been a loyal Shoe Carnival customer, both in-store and online, but after my recent experience, I won’t be returning. When making a return, what appeared to be a manager openly judged me, saying, “Wow, you purchase shoes and then return them the next day. Purchase, return, purchase, return.” It was rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary, especially when many of the shoes that need returning are for my disabled sister who cannot shop in-store on her own.
I shop frequently, and returns are a normal part of that process. Because of this experience, I’ll be returning the shoes I purchased that do fit and taking my business elsewhere. Customer service should be about helping customers, not making them feel scrutinized.
