Shore House at The Del, LXR Hotels & Resorts

This place is absolutely incredible! It sits right on the ocean with a beautiful turf yard and fire pits facing the water. The pool alone is worth the stay—it’s stunning, and the poolside service is excellent. The rooms are beautifully designed with thoughtful features and some of the most comfortable beds you’ll find. The whole property has a refined, elegant vibe, and since it’s relatively small, it never feels like an overcrowded resort. Everything feels fresh and new, with a completely different atmosphere compared to The Del. The only downside is there are plenty of kids around—but honestly, who cares.. enjoy life The rooms come with free chairs and umbrella at the beach.

We are 8 time return summer visitors and hotel Del members. Have always loved the Del. Unfortunately we flew here from Dallas and the beaches at Hotel Del are completely un-swimmable and red flagged. Full of sewage from Tijuana. They have been like this for over a year practically every single day. The hotel gave us no warning when we booked and it is a very expensive hotel! They must have known about this and didn’t tell. We come here (fly from Dallas) specifically to swim in the ocean and enjoy the golden sand. Instead we will need to sit at the pool. Mr Hussein, the manager, would not upgrade our room and offered us a small one time credit. That doesn’t make up for the experience of missing an ocean. He claims the rooms are individually owned and if he gives us a second room or a bigger room the hotel will need to pay the owner so he can’t afford the upgrade. Well- it’s very unfortunate that the hotel treats longtime guests and Del Diamond members this way. So disheartened.

Pros: Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Valet was top notch. Hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Cons: Couldn't swim at the beach due to the sewage, not the hotels fault. Pool was packed with more kids than adults, so unfortunately it wasn't relaxing. Buffet breakfast was disappointing, aside from their shrimp.

Dan and his team at the Shore House at the Del were a step above excellence. From the moment we landed in San Diego to the moment we parted ways, Dan made sure we were taken care of. The welcome reception to the property was warm, the cleanliness and vibe of the room was comforting, and the extra mile taken from the staff was incredible. I would strongly recommend this destination to any family looking for a cool spot to vacation, just be prepared to have your expectations of service and friendliness of the staff to be exceeded. Thank you Hotel Del for a memorable trip for my family.

We came for my 40th Birthday and had the best time. The friendly check in staff to the house keeping and all the little details (like birthday champagne) made our trip. Special shout out to Emi who helped valet my friend’s car and made she she was charged up for the next day. He also carted us to the Henry and back with the absolute best service. He went above and beyond and definitely made our first night here fun!

we loved the shore house soooooo much. besides the perfect location, beautiful property and dream spot for a kid….|the customer service was excellent. ||special shout out to kimberly at the front desk always helpful, smiling and happy to be serving you and Emiliano Varela always had a smile and an up for anything attitude. two excellent employees!

Stay at the main Hotel Del and avoid Shorehouse. Was excited for this property since it’s brand new but it was a big disappointment. There is no concierge, you are left to do most things on your own and no one answers the phone at the front desk. Also had a smoking next door neighbor at this non-smoking property. Management has set up this property to fail. Very young staff, nice but inexperienced. Everything was overpriced and no one goes out of their way to help you. Had to ask for our room to get cleaned. Better service at a Holiday Inn.
