Shore Lodge

The Shore Lodge is unique experience. First of all the location of the Lodge is superb - a lovely sunny corner of the lake. The staff is uniformly great - from check-in to check-out, everyone is kind, fun, and capable. We come back every year, and have not been disappointed. You can swim right off the dock, or book a boat to go further. |Wonderful place!

Went in off-season. Rooms are a good value. Service was excellent but maybe got the B team in the kitchen, although the Charcuterie plate in- room was amazing. In-house restaurant was very lacking for the price. Went across street for breakfast next day.

For my birthday this year, I knew I wanted to get away and have a lake vacation. I was considering Lake Michigan, Coeur d'Alene Lake, Mt Shasta, but our friend in Boise suggested Lake McCall. It all fell together after that. We stayed at Shore Lodge which is on the lake. It had a spa which is must anywhere I travel and it was close enough to Riggins, Idaho, where we would be going white water rafting. ||The hotel is beautiful. Our room was spacious, on the first floor and we opened our door to toes in the sand. I do wish our room had a fireplace. I think that would have added to our experience because we did have two nights of rain. ||Now, I am a spa junkie and I loved the indoor/outdoor feel of the Cove. However, our couples massage was a pretty big disappointment. I've never had a couples massage where the beds were so far apart from each other. What's the point of calling it a couples massage if you're not next to each other? ||Other suggestions for the spa, most luxurious spas that I've been to, have a display of grapes, or other types of fruit as well as chocolates and or granola or nuts. Cucumbers slices to put on your eyes while your in wait for your treatment. I also wish there were a wet/steam sauna. ||The resort has a few restaurants, but we only ate at the Cutwater which has beautiful indoor/outdoor views of the lake. Service was friendly, food was fresh and good. Wish they had more vegetarian options. ||As far as outdoor activities, it's all right there. We rented a pontoon and enjoyed the lake. It was pricey! $354 for two hours. It was a good time so I won't complain. You can also rent jet skies, paddle boards. ||The hotel has a small movie theater and game room for kids if you're traveling with them. At 7PM, they also have an outdoor s'mores station. ||All in all, I had a fabulous birthday vacation at the Shore Lodge and definitely recommend.

Shore Lodge is one of my favorite venues to plan events at. Having the Upper and Lower Pavilion and patio make for a lot of space to move around in for different activities during the event to surprise and delight guests. This last weekend of events their top notch staff amazed me again! Derek, transportation director, blows me out of the water each time with his planning, accuracy, customer service, and attention to detail. Chef Marcus and his team delivered the best food this weekend I have had in all the years of planning events at Shore Lodge. Jamie, sales manager, worked tirelessly with me to get all the details and wishes of our client just right in preparation of their big weekend. Jessica and Stephanie lead the event staff with precision, executing all our wishes to the T and making guests feel seen and valued while doing it. Thank you Shore Lodge Team for all you do!

Every time I photograph a couple at Shore Lodge, I’m reminded why it’s one of my favorite venues in Idaho. It’s beautiful all year long; snow-covered in winter, lush and green in summer, bursting with color in fall, and it always feels welcoming and personal. The lakefront views are breathtaking, but what sets Shore Lodge apart is the warmth it brings to each celebration. There’s a grounded elegance to the space, refined without being too formal. The essence of mountain luxury. Indoors, the textures and light give me so much to work with. Outdoors, you’re surrounded by the kind of scenery that just begs to be photographed. Couples love it because they get to relax, soak it in, and truly enjoy the day. I love it because it allows me to create timeless, heartfelt images that feel like art. If you want a venue that works in any season and photographs beautifully in every light, Shore Lodge is it.

Shore Lodge is such a gem in McCall! Beautiful lake views, cozy lodge atmosphere, and friendly staff that make you feel right at home. Perfect spot for a getaway — I can’t wait to come back.

Fantastic stay at Shore Lodge with a private movie screening, s’mores in the evening, and an incredible dinner at the Narrows. Service was excellent! King room suite was nice but due for updating. Would recommend!

I stay here every time I travel through mccall. Good pork incredible beverages. The service is exceptional. I have good conversations with people I meet.

Friendly staff, nice rooms, lovely pools with a view. The food and view from the restaurant make me want to go back. We just stayed here for the third time and I was very impressed by their customer service. My mom was sent to the hospital via ambulance so we had to cut our vacation short and the staff/management dealt with us in the most professional and kind hearted manner. I really appreciate the care and generosity they showed. Thank you Shore Lodge!

Great place to stay next to the lake. Great service and comfortable room. Restaurants in hotel delicious. And lovely little gift shop.

We had lunch here and it was lovely. I felt like it was decently priced for a hotel. The staff was super nice and took the time to show us around. Great views! Food is 7.5/10

A great place for a glass of wine by the water! They were unfortunately super understaffed 4th of July weekend so things were slow but the crew they did have did the best they could and with the location on the water I was more than fine to have to wait. It's a beautiful location.

Always love coming here! Been to the restaurant downstairs which has good food but sat at the bar one day for a small lunch where we shared French onion soup and fries which were absolutely delicious.

This is beautiful. I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were great. We enjoyed the balcony off the room the most.

My family and I recently stayed here for a long weekend. I are at each restaurant including the steakhouse and all were amazing. The location and feel of the lodge is rustic and beautiful. The customer service was beyond extraordinary. The staff helped care for my father (in a wheelchair) to an unbelievable extent. Specifically Breeze was so attentive and friendly providing customer service which was above and beyond! I cannot recommend the shore lodge enough!

Food was very good, as well as the service. View of the lake was amazing. This is an upscale pricier place to eat, but worth the treat!

Wow! Wow! WOW! From beginning to end, we felt pampered for our 13 year anniversary/birthday getaway. Even though the weather was rainy and cold, May 18th-25th, the staff and facilities made it memorable! Cori was quick to greet us and grab a luggage trolly to help us unload. She knew which room we were in by asking our last name, and took our luggage to our room while my husband parked the truck and I checked us in at the desk. Upon entering the lodge, it's rustic, warm decor reminded me of an inviting hunting lodge. Checking in was a breeze, a complimentary glass of wine for both of us as well as a full printed list of all the information for your stay imaginable. Our room! Just, WOW! A two room suite, 3rd floor, room 318 with a full view of the lake. Comfortable, warm accommodations with a high ceiling bedroom & window. King size bed with room to spare. All our luggage was specifically placed in the room with careful consideration. The bed was super plush and decadent. My only, VERY small-did not impact my stay here in any way-complaint is the way-too soft pillows that your head sinks into. The Bar, was our nightly 'end of day' retreat. This place was made especially fun because of our regular bartenders & servers, specifically Blake, Grace, Woody, Andi & Roystar! You guys rocked! You we're friendly, personable, suggested drinks based on what we liked, and always greeted us with a smile each and every night we came in! They genuinely looked happy to see us. The Cove was an amazing spa getaway with an indoor/outdoor heated salt water plunge pool - to which you have a two hour allotment of time after each spa treatment you reserved. Samantha was my masseuse, Rebecca was my husband's. Both did an amazing job, very friendly, pleasant to talk to and were very communicative on what pressure worked best. They were booked solid once we arrived. It felt super secluded, as you had to be having a treatment to be in the spa plunge pool area. The pool was a steady 80 degrees, the hot tubs around 100-104. Against the cold air and occasional rain or snow, it was the best time! We mixed our own drinks in plastic glasses (pool safety) and swam or sat and soaked for a good two hours each time. Invigorating! Room service! You pick up the phone, press the 'eat' icon and your connected to the Cutwater restaurant. And the fact they quote you 20-25 minutes at the busiest time of day, blew our minds! Our last night, we ate at The Narrows. Amazing lake views in a small, classy dining room. We made reservations 3 months in advance to this place, as they are normally booked solid. The day we went was a Monday, so it was a quiet, lovely dinner with only a few other tables. We started with a glass of bubbly, a caesar salad & oysters. These were the largest oysters I have EVER eaten! Very fresh, very good, especially with the two different types of sauces added to them. After the appetizers, amuse-bouche of a small crouton with goat cheese with apricot jelly and chives I believe. A perfect, delicious bite! A small scoop of sorbet helped to clean our pallets before we selected our meal and the wine to go with it. We had been dying to try the bison wellington, since we have never tried it before and no restaurants near us served it. It was cooked to perfection and very juicy! The husband found it delicious, though I felt it could use a bit more salt. But I may have just been a salt fiend that day. I had the lamb chops-which were so amazing! Beautiful sear on the outside, so tender and cooked spot on. I was practically eating the last bits off the bone, it was soooo tasty! Try the malbec- v8 schooner-unctuous! Lovely nose and velvety, jammy mouth! Paired very well! Thanks to Rick Booth, the manager we often saw around the lodge greeting guests and helping staff, for a wonderful chat while we waited to finish our evening with a yummy desert. The Shore Lodge is high quality, so expect to pay more for food & alcohol - because they really put all their efforts into it. Make your reservations early, especially if eating at The Narrows. You will pay top $ for the steakhouse. Don't be stingy, tip your servers, bartender, bell hops, spa workers and housekeeping. They work very hard, and many of them stay in the staff quarters during the busy seasons, most likely working 12 hour days. Also, just be aware they do not accept Discover cards. When we first checked in, I was asked to swipe a credit card and did so with my Discover card. So I was under the impression they took it. I usually make sure beforehand, but did not this time, so I banked on using only that card. So upon check out, I had to scramble to find another card I was not expecting to use. It was fine, I just thought to note it so you don't have an 'oh no-I have only the ONE card'!

A bit overpriced for what you get. Good for conventions. People that typically stay here think they are better than everyone but I figure that's not the hotels fault.

One of the most breath taking views of the lake. We had an incredible meal with an amazing experience with the sommelier. The perfect place to celebrate our engagement!

Came here for our anniversary weekend. Did not disappoint!! The service was attentive & friendly. Every staff member we came in contact with made our stay that much better. The room was clean and comfortable. The extra steps of service were beyond thoughtful. The wine at check in, cookies at turndown, popcorn & drinks when watching a movie, s'mores at the fire pit, shuttle service into town!!! The spa, The Cove, was therapeutic and the massage was beyond relaxing. The view from the bar was beautiful and the drinks and food were yummy!! Looking forward to coming out in summer. Will definitely be back next winter and the ones to follow!!

My boyfriend's family has a cabin in McCall and we have been to the Cutwater multiple times. The Hucketini is worth the visit. The bartenders are very wonderful. The waitstaff is meh, the food was meh also. I ordered the "Short Ribs" on their menu, and they were Korean short ribs, not the American style short ribs - very different. My mother in law ordered "blackened" shrimp tacos, and after they were forgotten, they were brought out to the table not-so-blackened. The cocktails and view are worth a drop in, but I would reccommened somewhere else for food

This a very neat venue, beautiful lake views, and right in town. However, I have been here twice in the last two weeks. Last week for pleasure, this week for a conference. The price of the rooms is astronomical for the quality. They take pride in mediocre style and comfort. The service both times was nothing short of horrible. At the cutwater for breakfast it took 15 minutes to seat our party, 30 minutes to bring us water, and another 30 minutes to give our food order. They were not busy and I saw at least 6 staff sitting around the restaurant. Our food was not bad, but definitely not great. I would not eat there is you were staying in McCall. The front end service was rude and not helpful. They seemed irritated to their job. This is definitely a overhyped lodge, aimed for high rollers who want to flaunt there money for sub par rooms and bland tasteless food and drink.

We ate there this morning for Sunday brunch. We had the baked Brie, blueberry pancakes, French toast and eggs Benedict. We were all very disappointed with our meal. The consensus was that Denny's makes a better breakfast for a fraction of the cost. The French toast is regular loaf bread. The eggs Benedict had a little ( I mean little piece of ham and I could barely cut the muffin. The hollandaise was bland, seeming to be out of a can. Pancakes were just ok, however they charge for an extra oz of syrup. Coffee was good and so was the hot chocolate. The "brunch" is just a menu of breakfast and lunch dishes, nothing at all special. I would not recommend it. It's definitely not what you would expect from the Shore Lodge.

Loved this place on the shores of Payette lake. We originally came for a dinner and liked it so much, we came back for lunch. They have an excellent and creative drink menu, awesome bloody Mary's and Margaritas. Food was fantastic with fresh salads, tasty hamburgers, tuna poke was excellent, wild salmon was incredible as well. Service was top notch and very kid friendly. We will definitely be back the next time through McCall!

Great experience at the Shore Lodge! The rooms were clean and very comfortable and the customer service was excellent. We had an amazing dinner at the Narrows steakhouse, even for a vegan who had cauliflower steak! Bart was our server for dinner and he was great. Gaylen was our breakfast waitress and she was especially accommodating. Lastly we truly appreciate the efficiency, kindness and enthusiasm of the super tall girl at the valet! See you all next time!

Just had a spectacular massage with Samantha at The Cove spa. She is an exceptionally intuitive and skilled therapist. The outdoor area with saltwater pools and cozy lounge furniture is wonderful. We are looking forward to having lunch at one of the great restaurants overlooking the lake.

Given the fabulous location of this resort, you would think they would go above and beyond to live up to this potential. They have the opportunity to be a world-class, "you've got to go there" kind of place. Unfortunately, they in no way live up to the potential. The rooms are small and poorly cleaned, the food is mediocre, the prices outrageous, the staff seems poorly informed. We recently attended a wedding there and only because of the groom's parents, the wedding was wonderful. However, Shore Lodge created way more problems than they were willing to solve. Knowing the family well, I have heard just a portion of their nightmare stories. I highly discourage anyone considering an event (or even a stay) at Shore Lodge to consider their choice carefully. Clearly, new management needs to come in and create the extraordinary experiences that are certainly possible at Shore Lodge.

This place is five stars as a hotel and two stars (at best) as a restaurant. I had two meals here and both were terribly disappointing. I had a breakfast "pizzette" the one morning that delivered on some nice toppings but the crust was clearly frozen. From the price point and the quality of the hotel, I expect so much better than frozen ingredients. Again, the hotel and service here is phenomenal but the level of quality on the food is not aligned and almost makes it feel like a tourist trap in the sense that there is such a huge gap between the quality of the food and the service in the establishment as a whole.

We came for breakfast and enjoyed all of our meals. The waitstaff was awesome and our waitress was fantastic with our two young children. We sat on a beautiful deck and enjoyed an amazing view. We would for sure come back.

It makes me sad to have to give one star to the Shore Lodge. I have always loved coming here during my stay in McCall to have a drink and enjoy the spa. I stayed at the shore lodge for the first time this August for a wedding and had a very poor experience. Although the GM, Tom G., personally called the groom's Mother to tell her to have the wedding guests either remove or not leave reviews, I feel its necessary to be honest about my experience for anyone looking to host an event or wedding. I had several issues trying to book a room for the wedding. I originally booked one of the rooms that was required to be booked by a wedding guest a few months in advance. When I called to confirm the details, I was told the room wasn't booked through my entire requested stay. I then booked another room which was very inconvenient to have to pack up all of my belongings and move in the middle of my stay. I would have happily moved my reservation to be in one room the entire time but was told there was a re-booking fee and as mentioned, it was one of the required rooms that needed to be booked by a wedding guest. If I didn't stay in the room that one night, the grooms parents would have had to pay. I'm not sure how if it was one of the required rooms that needed to be booked by a wedding guest... why it was so hard for us to book it. The day before checking in, I called to confirm my reservation(s) once again since there had previously been issues (and other wedding guests were having the same problems). I was then told that the room was not even booked for the first night. I had to then re-book it. The day that we had to switch rooms we had time to kill between check-out of the first room (11 a.m.) and check-in of the second room (3 p.m.) so we put all of our luggage in a friend's room and went to breakfast at Cutwater. We had a group of 6 and had to send back 3 orders of biscuits and gravy that came out cold. When we were able to check-in to our second hotel room, it looked as if only the bed had been made and the rest of the room was not clean. There were clothing tags left on the desk and a very prominent smell of cigarette smoke and sewage. I am really disappointed that this was my experience and appalled at the way it handled.

We always come here, this visit had allot wrong. The cheese plate my husband ordered for our arrival for $25 was horrible. 4 pieces of 2 cheeses and a very small piece of a third. Not like what we got 2 years ago. Outside hot tubs were really dirty. A young man came out to uncover one and left all the pine needles and debris in the tub, but tubs and the pool had debris!! Wouldn't have taken long to clean out. I was brought a salad in the spa with NO dressing. I think quality control, staff training is sorely needed!! So disappointed.

I love Shore Lodge, and we've been coming for ten plus years. However, they are being incredibly irresponsible with masks and distancing. We rented a bottom room floor so that we wouldnt have to be in and out of the resort during the pandemic we are still in. We ordered room service multiple times and the waiter delivering our food tried to come in our room unmasked. We walk into Cutwater to try to order food to go and every employee except for one was not masked up. At the coffee shop, the barista pulled her mask down to talk to us. If you are still trying to protect your family and your unvaccinated kids, I would skip Shore Lodge and go for a VRBO instead.

It was our first time in McCall and at Shore Lodge. Kaylee was an amazing bartender and made us feel right at home. She was attentive, sweet, and accommodating. We had a great time with her as our bartender at the upstairs bar there. Thanks Kaylee, and thanks Shore Lodge! -Madeline

Atmosphere plus! Our banquet room had doors opening to a walkway around the lake. Put u right next to the lake. What a view! Arrived to find coffee and lovely mini blueberry muffins and banana bread waiting while everyone milled around visiting and enjoying the weather and view. Were a bit disorganized. Not enough seating. Out of sugar. But it all was resolved and we enjoyed a delicious brunch. The outdoor accommodations for the hotel guests were well thought out with small sandy beaches for wading. Umbrellas and chairs. Water toys. A beautiful outdoor/indoor restaurant. A bit expensive but the atmosphere makes it a great deal!!! A stay in McCall has to include brunch at the ShoreLodge!!

Incredible food! So many options. Amazing, thoughtful service with servers thinking one step ahead. Beautiful views. Excellent. Wonderful experience.

Must have visited on an off day for the kitchen staff; I ordered the roasted chicken and rice dish....the chicken was sent back to the kitchen because it was "medium rare" and the rice side was cold. My dinner companion's skirt steak was low on flavor and tough and served at room temperature instead of hot. I don't even want to discuss the horrible service and pathetic charcuterie platter we received while lounging in the lovely spa (excellent experience), just don't order the food!!!!!

Enjoyed an incredible prenatal massage and spa day with my husband for our anniversary. The spa is so nice and relaxing. I love that you can order snacks and drinks to the hot tubs. The only criticism I have is that the front desk woman, who greets you ( she was young and had an accent) isn't very friendly. She nearly made us regret booking something. But once we entered and didn't have to talk to her we enjoyed ourselves greatly.

The food was WAY overpriced for the quality! One of the worst meals I have had in awhile. The waitstaff was awesome.

Food not very good. Chocolate cake dry. Sorbet tiny for $13. Hostess and waiters overly friendly and too talkative when we wanted to spend time talking to our friends. We would have preferred only talking to staff regarding our food.

There was an accident at the property: a guest cut his eyebrow by hitting a sharp object on a mechanical door. After letting the administration know about the accident, no one ever cared to offer any help, ice or first aid kit. No one cared at the time of the accident, and no one cared afterwards calling it "your private business" that happened at their property. So this guest will have a scar on the forhead and will let know all platforfms and Consumer Affairs about irresponsible and careless administration. Horrible experience! Stay as far away as possible! Apologies are not accepted.

went to this place on last evening of vacation. Ordered Mexican soup for appetizer. Delivered tepid. We sent it back and it was made right quite deliciously. the rest of my party went for the special entrée for the evening--a generous serving of halibut served on a ginger-coconut and eggplant curry that appeared a little ghastly to me. Costly ($34) and I noticed that nobody finished the curry. I had opted for a prime rib French dip sandwich that was bountiful--I am a big guy but took half home in a box. Taste was great, but at $24 had dang well better be. Nice restaurants in McCall seem to take advantage of the tourist season and charge the bejeebers for food that falls a little short of the excessive fees. Maybe next time we'll bar crawl for cheap but good eats.

Wow. I have been in restaurants with crappy service before, but never have I been in a restaurant with such crappy service. We sat with four other tables waiting to order breakfast. And sat. And sat. No one took a coffee order. There was one waitress, and while I wish I could say she was overworked, she was just overwhelmed and incompetent. And in such a pricey hotel! Avoid this place. Ruby's across the street is delicious and fast.

Came to this place purely for the view, had early dinner, good service, very attentive. Foods were good. And just the view alone is worth!

The server was awesome (John) Unfortunately the food was mediocre at best. If you're looking for a romantic place to eat, do not go here. The atmosphere, lighting and over all feel is not good. They didn't even have music playing. But the service was great.

Beautiful view and a beautiful hotel. Food however is mediocre. The $16 burger looked like it could have come from a fast food place and was over cooked. Just very average for that expensive of a burger. Fries looked like they had been frozen. Kale Caesar was good though. We were told there was going to be a 40 minute wait while 60-70% of tables outside were empty. We got one in 20 but still. They must have a shortage of staff or something which is odd for a Friday evening during peak season. If you're looking just for the beautiful. view then it's great.

Went and had a drink at the Bar upstairs. Tom was not only friendly, welcoming and exemplar at his craft but he literally made the best old fashioned I've ever had. Ask for him if your ever this way and you will surely not be disappointed.

Stay away. Poor service. Based on two visits, Same issue, slow service, as well as , plastic cups for the water. We are out of glasses. he said. really? why other tables around us got real goblet glasses. And amazingly , both visits! Food, incredibly salty or bland. Duo Tuna appetizer was poor execute. Fish came out poor sliced/filet, like a kindergarden kid put a knife on it, Creme Brule, don t sure if it is Cream brule texture, I would just call it instant Vanilla pudding. Server: Morgan, never come back checking on us, Never refilled water, never offered dessert menu, What he did was just bring 4 bottled of beer to a guest. Not even mentioned he cleared his silverware without asking if he has finished eating. That person still eating his food.! His plate still half way full! Unbelievable! Well, party of 18 persons, you believe that you will have 18% house grat. anyway, don t you? Lake view is gorgeous,

Went for dinner and movie night. Had the king crab linguine as entree and beef soup as starter. 25 bucks for one meal and ticket. Super good deal! They gave us free popcorn and drinks for the movie too! Definantly going back for dinner and movie night. Show up 530-545 for the window seat

Lived hear for 15 years and never had a cheese plate like the one today. Shore lodge stepped up from the best in McCall with a great happy hour to five star app restaurant. Nice view too.

We decided to have dinner at the Shore Lodge after a couple hours of jet skiing on Payette Lake, so we called and made a reservation for two, outside by the docks. We got there just after sunset and the view couldn't have been more romantic! The waitress was personable, but busy since she appeared to be taking care of the entire outside (after school started, so there was a noticeable lack of help throughout this tourist town. The food and pricing was very good, but the waitress failed to return until my wife had finished more than half her pasta dish without being able to ask for Parmesan cheese. Wasn't a deal breaker, but worth mentioning just to set your expectations so you aren't disappointed. The ambiance made up for most of the short-comings, however the black widow spiders building their webs in the umbrella above our heads was a bit distracting to say the least after we noticed them, couldn't wait to pay the check and leave. We'll be back next time we are staying in McCall, but we will ask to move if the spiders are still there.
