Location is stellar. Wish they would not allow young kids and dogs because it gets very loud if you have an ocean front room. Also, there is no door between the bathroom and the bedroom so if you're traveling with somebody, it's very noisy when trying to sleep. And other person in the bathroom. parking is easy as there are designated spots. I just did not like the kids and the no door to the bathroom situation it was very annoying and seemed like it was overlooked when they built the place. we were in a two queen room. Beds were super comfortable. Receptionist was totally checked out for most of the time. Hard to get her attention. Not sure about water quality even though they said it was filtered. Bring earplugs and a sound machine .

Google
Best spot to relax and enjoy the beach. Beautiful location. Beautiful new landscaping. The front desk staff is amazing. Stayed for our anniversary in August. Going back for my birthday in January. Can't wait to see decorations.

Google
It's a nice hotel, but if you have a disability, be prepared for constant "reviews" of how well you're moving by an older lady who works there. She also stopped me every time she saw me, even when I had earbuds in, to point out some feature that she thought I'd appreciate as a disabled person. Some guests might enjoy and appreciate all of that extra attention. I did not. I found it very unpleasant.

We were so happy to find a place ON the beach that allows pets! We chose an upstairs room for a better view and more privacy...good decision. Here's our take:|PROS:|Room was spotless and had the usual goodies, plus a fridge & microwave.|They supplied a water dish with doggie treats and a towel specifically for pets.|The view from the balcony's sun chairs couldn't be beat. Sunsets were beautiful.|They loan binoculars at no charge; great to watch the otters, seals and birds.|Bed and pillows were very comfortable. A room tower fan is included. (no A/C)|Grounds are clean, beautiful and very well maintained, even the poop area.|Outdoor shower and foot sprayer. Also a barbecue area and 3 fire pits.|Staff were super nice and helpful.|Complimentary coffee, tea & cookies in office.|Beer, wine, soda, snacks and souvenirs sold in office.|CONS:|Room was quite small.|No closet, just a rack with hangers.|TV channel selection is very limited (Hey, can't watch the ocean after dark!)||We will definitely return and would recommend the Shoreline Inn.

Fabulous location on the beach, room & facility updates well done, and staff very friendly & welcoming. This was our second stay here, already planning the next one!

Google
Shoreline Inn was such a fantastic stay. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and ours had great views. The location is perfect, right across from our favorite antique stores and a lot of what Cayucos has to offer! Great staff and grounds, so beautiful. The sound of the ocean at night is 12/10. We cannot wait to come back!

Google
Great little place, right in the middle of town, coffee shop across the street, cookie company a block away and right on the beach. Clean, good value, staff is very nice. Coffee in lobby all day, cookies in the afternoon. Pet friendly, fire pits. Nice landscaping on the patio If your in the area and want a quiet place by the beach, this is it. Missus and I enjoyed it, so will you

Google
1st time staying here i am 100% impressed. You literally on the beach. Rooms are very clean and recently updated. The grounds are impeccable Staff is awesome. Will be back for sure. If you want nice place to stay, do yourself a favor and stay here.

Yelp
Excellent stay at the Shoreline Inn, located on the beach in Cayucos. Clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Close by walking distance to many good restaurants and wonderful antique stores. Did I mention the newly-upgraded outdoor firepit area overlooking the ocean? We lost ourselves for hours out here each day of our stay. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
This hotel has a great location but I will never stay again. I kept being woken up from 5-9 AM by loud footsteps above. Was woken up one day by the window cleaner. We stayed 3 nights and I had no energy to do anything because I was so exhausted from lack of sleep and didn't even feel safe to drive. The list of rules for the hotel was excessive, no taking a blanket to sit by the fire pit and your pet is not allowed to stay in your room alone ever- they threaten a fine if you do. When we came in and set our bags down I got sand all over my purse from the dining table and some dishes in the cabinet still had food on them, who knows what else wasn't properly cleaned?

Yelp
What an amazing stay we had at the Shoreline Inn! The staff and owner provided special touches in their newly renovated inn. The room was clean, comfortable and had an amazing view. We loved sitting at the fire-pits each night and my husband loved surfing right outside the property. The owner has been there for over 44 years and knew the best places to eat. We definitely will be back soon!

Yelp
I have found my happy place, for now lol. We got a low level ocean front view and it was heaven. The room was very nice and clean, the beds are a little on the low side but the ocean lulled me to a really nice sleep. Opening the curtain in the morning was spectacular! Antoine checked us in and out and he was so sweet! Cayucos has the best people! We literally are planning our next stay. It's quiet except for that beautiful ocean!!! If I died on this patio know I went extremely happy

Yelp
This is the third time we have stayed here. We loved this dog friendly great location hotel. This time we got attitude from a middle aged blonde woman with glasses. She was rude and condescending. Gave me grief over the in info on my service dog (I'm a disabled vet)! Then went over in great details everything you can't do at this hotel. Never a smile or a cordial greeting. She obviously chose the wrong profession. The hotel gets 4 stars and the front desk gets Zero!

Sheila T.

Yelp
I mad the reservation the same day. It was super smooth. The service was great. Free coffee most of the day and free cookies. The hotel is right on the beach. It is worth the price!

Yelp
We have stayed here so many times over the years. Love this place. Our last stay was to take my Mother in love there for that last time. We moved her to Brookings Oregon to her new Casita on my SIL property. She's the one who found Shoreline many years ago. Our whole family has vacationed here together for decades. It was a bitter sweet trip. Great location in the sleepy town of Cayucos. Minutes away from Morrow Bay. This Inn is welcoming, clean, comfortable, great beach, bbq, pet friendly and has an outstanding staff and management. The beds are comfy enough and the newly redecorated rooms are super cute. Love you Shorline Inn. Thank you for a lifetime of great memories.

Yelp
We blindly booked our room the day of our stay so that we could be close enough to Cal Poly SLO for the graduation ceremony and not make the 4-hour journey the day of. We were pleasantly surprised to say the least when we opened the door to our room. The room is modern, clean, and spacious. We can see and hear the beach from the room! The beds are comfortable, a bit on the firmer side. Nobody woke up sore or complained about sleep. Occasionally, I did hear the footsteps of the upstairs neighbors early in the morning, but nothing too disruptive. I guarantee that we will return on purpose next time!

Yelp
Cayucos is my favorite little town and I would stay no where but the shoreline inn when I come. The main office where you check in is stunning with a perfect view of the pier. Every room I have stayed in during my three separate vacations here have always been beautiful, cleanly and have stunning views. There are park benches and lounge chairs on the property where you can have beautiful views. With quick beach access I would recommend this place to anyone!!! My only two complaints for this hotel is the price. It is incredibly pricy for being in such a small town and having no included breakfast. However there is always hot delicious coffee in the lobby. My other complaint was the tv. It took me three whole stays to figure out how to work the tv. It came with no guide and no explanation. (If you are having trouble looking for channels we found out you have to scroll through about 100 channels to get to a "menu" Chanel which is typically number 30)

Yelp
Spent Labor Day weekend at Shoreline Inn. The location is right on the beach with a lovely view of the pier. The room was large and well laid out and the decor was very beachy chic. The location is perfect - all the shops and eateries were walking distance. We live in San Diego and wanted to escape the heat and crowds at the beach, and Cayucos was perfect. Uncrowded, and it seemed like every other visitor had a dog with them. Cayucos is in between Cambria and Morro Bqy. One suggestion - make sure to pack a warm jacket and a pair of sweats or leggings. We were very surprised at how cold it was in the early morning. Luckily the liquor store had a selection of very reasonably priced sweats and hoodies. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway I highly recommend this destination. We'll be staying at The Shoreline Inn the next time we had up the coast

Yelp
Lovely place to stay. Our room was very comfortable, private balcony with partial pier view. Table and chairs in the room for 4 people. King size bed was comfortable. Shower was clean and updated. Walking distance to the beach of course, but also walking distance to the unique shops and restaurants this town has to offer. We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I debated for a while whether or not to write this review. I figured I would to warn other non-dog pet owners that decide to visit and also get fooled under the hotel policies advertising of them being 'pet' friendly in general when they are not. They are simply a dog friendly hotel. The weekend before last, I came to this hotel with my significant other and our two pets; dog and cat. Both well traveled and not new to hotels or Airbnb's, we checked in with no issues and moved our stuff and pets to our room. We took off our cat's leash so she could get the lay of the land of the hotel room while we unpacked our pets items so they could have a more comfortable stay. We haven't been in our room for 30 minutes yet and we start calling for our cat, we hear a scraping sound but think nothing of it. Neither of us have left the room so we know although our cat isn't coming when we call that she HAS to be in the room so we look her toys we brought from home and any possible hiding spot she could be in but with no luck. We hear the scraping sound again. There was a slight panic since now it had been 15 minutes with us being unable to find our cat and she isn't coming when we call which is unusual for her. I check behind the TV stand yet again but this time with a flashlight and there it is. A hole in the wall, large enough for any curious feline to go into, now that the mystery of where the cat had gone was figured out. We figured out that this scraping sound we were hearing all along, was our cat's harness rubbing along the sheet rocks of our hotel room as she moved through a completely different area of the wall then where this random hole in our hotel room was. After another 20 minutes of us trying to lure cat back to the wall where the hole was with tapping and knocking and no luck, we contact the front desk. We get told they are going to do some research then come up that must have been nearly another 10 minutes when the front desk person Robin and the front desk manager whose name begins with C came to our room. They check that there is indeed a hole and the front desk manager proceeds to tell us to set food out in front of the hole to lure our cat out but if they have to cut a hole into the wall to take her out, it would be our responsibility to cover the cost. I argued with her back and forth about this being a PET friendly hotel and obviously was NOT due to this hole in the wall which she responded that it was my duty as a pet owner to keep my pet out of walls.... How am I to know there is a random hole in my hotel room to keep my pet out of? The entire interaction with the front desk manager was her being rude and taking no accountability for this random hole in the wall as a representative of a PET FRIENDLY hotel, putting all the blame on us as pet owners. She responded to me that this hotel is primarily a dog friendly hotel, they don't expect dog's to get back behind here (the TV stand) and get into this hole. We got nowhere with this conversation or rather argument with the front desk manager and all we could do was wait for our cat to figure out to get out of the wall on her own. Happy news is that after 2.5 hours, our cat came, I am assuming, falling down due to the thumping sounds before she came out of the hole since it was a straight shot up when we looked into the hole. We later found out this hole was due to them planning to add another outlet but who knows how long they had left that hole unattended and open for other pets to get into. The views were lovely and being right off the beach was lovely though. After cat had gotten out we called the front desk to see about getting the hole covered. Robin, who was nothing but sweet the entire time, came up with a thick disposable plate and a lot of tape to cover the hole. We got no offer to stay in another room or discounts for the trouble. So if you stay in room 129, or any other room, beware and check behind the TV stands and any other furniture to be sure they also don't have any random holes in the walls that your pet or even children can get into.

Yelp
This is the romantic beach hotel you have been looking for. All the rooms come with a view. From the moment you arrive you can tell the owners and staff take pride in this property. The grounds are well kept and full of life. When you checking you will experience the service that matches. The staff is helpful and offered great suggestions for the area. Ultimately a walk and visit to local shops became our activities for the weekend. Being centrally located made this easy. We had no need to move the car all weekend. The room was clean and updated. We opted for a fireplace. After it got late the fireplace and couch made for great end to the evening. During the day the patio was a good place to people watch after time at the beach. There is a dog area and the hotel is pet friendly. This will turn into a place we visit and stay regularly.

Yelp
This place is a total gem. This was just a drive-thru night for us, but we want to book an extended stay in the near future. It's exceptionally clean, which is surprising since it is dog friendly and steps from the sand - compliments to the housekeeping. Water pressure was great and the water stayed hot. Moreover, the beds were comfortable. My spouse likes firm and is a back sleeper; I like soft and am a side sleeper. We both slept well and didn't have the aches associated with "spring loaded" motel beds. I think these either have thick pillow tops or a memory foam layer. It was great waking up on comfortable beds while hearing the ocean surf. Check-in was easy and the staff were really nice. We booked through a third party and indicated we have a dog. Apparently, this information never made its way to the hotel - they told us it happens a lot but that it was no problem. I'd suggest calling the hotel directly to let them know in case there is a 3rd party issue when you book. If they'd known ahead of time, they would have added the dog sheets, dog towels, and water bowl before arrival. The property has an outdoor shower too which is great to rinse sandy feet/paws. There's no breakfast, but there is coffee all day and cookies in the afternoon. This is a beach town so many of the restaurants close early. I saw some 1-star reviews and have no idea where they're coming from. Some people just like to complain about their own poor planning. "They didn't let us add additional guests because there weren't enough beds." No shit. There are county codes they have to follow for fire safety. I'm glad they pushed back so the hotel doesn't feel like a clown car. I travel a lot so have a good sense of what a nice hotel is. I'm guessing the angry people don't travel as much. My main feedback (not a criticism of the hotel, just parking etiquette of other guests) would be to assign numbered parking spaces to the rooms. There is plenty of parking and social norms would dictate that people should park in the spots closest to their building so that unloading/reloading is easier. We came in late and had to park in an inconvenient location to our room; we noticed several cars didn't have parking placards. I'm guessing they were registered second cars, but they took up the spots we would need to not carry luggage far. Adding numbered parking spaces for each room's first vehicle would be helpful. Again, plenty of parking - just not where I wanted to reload my car. Also, the TV was a bit hard to navigate, but I came here for the beach anyway. :-)

Yelp
An absolutely wonderful stay! Cannot beat the location - it's got direct access to the Cayucos beach!! And there are restaurants at walking distance from the hotel which was so convenient! We visited with our two kids and a furbaby. They provided a bowl, a towel and welcome treats for our dog. We had a ground floor room overlooking the beautiful ocean and a pet-friendly beach. Our room was small but clean and had a microwave, a mini fridge, a TV and it looked like the bathroom had been recently remodeled. I do wish there was a small closet though but there were some wall hooks to possibly hang up coats. We stayed over the Easter weekend and the hotel hosted an egg hunt for the kids staying there - such fun! We really enjoyed our stay there and hope to go back again someday!

Yelp
My favorite getaway spot! I love the old time charm of town. I look forward to going there at least a couple times a year!

Cindy B.

Yelp
So sad when businesses change owners and jack up the price and then charge for things like a bed fee of $30?!!! So are we itemizing everything in a room when you book it now? Also $125 for a pet fee per night? That is super high especially for Cayucos! This has always been a pet hotel with a cute pet friendly coffee house across the street. Our family has stayed at the Shoreline for over 27 yrs. We have always loved our stay till last week. The rooms are just ok for the price. They now charge over $400 a night for a room in cayucos?! Kind of ridiculous?!! Just sad that a family tradition of 27 yrs has ended.

Anthony C.

Yelp
Very nice stay here. Our room was a partial pier view and it was very nice. Dog friendly and great location, only steps to the beach and short walks to restaurants and the pier. Clean and quiet. Will be back!

Yelp
incredible hotel. Oceanfront views in the cutest little beach town. Super pet friendly with a bowl and pet towel waiting for us in our room. Amazing location- dog friendly beach right in front of the hotel Ana centrally located, within walking distance to local restaurants. COVID compliant. Felt safe and clean. Marshall at the front desk was friendly, helpful, accommodating, and professional. He allowed us to extend our reservation without difficulty and went out of his way to lend us a toaster for the bagels we brought! We loved our stay. Would highly recommend. Thank you for the hospitality and the views!

Yelp
Great location. Friendly staff. It is nice to find a clean and updated hotel that is dog friendly. We stayed in the ocean front rooms, and while the room was small, there was plenty of space for 4 of us to spread out. The beds were comfortable and the pillows weren't trash. The only off putting thing was the "tip" envelope that the housekeepers left for themselves. I've been to probably over 100 different hotels, motels, AirB&Bs, traditional B&Bs, etc; and I can never remember ever seeing a tip jar or envelope for me to leave money. Seemed odd, especially after just spending $1300 for 3 nights to see that...hashtag Tacky. I would stay here again. Actually, we're looking forward to staying here again.

Lisa P.

Yelp
I have stayed in nearly 10 different places in the SLO area over the last two years to visit my son at Cal Poly. This is the only one I do not/will not recommend. The bathroom had a horrible odor of urine/sewage. Maintenance tried a few things to help...simple green in the toilet and washing the floor but the odor kept me from showering during my stay. The staff only offered the maintenance man. Not an apology, solution, or price adjustment. Just the maintenance man...who was very kind and tried his best to help. I suggested/asked if another room was available if they could not fix the bathroom issue-the staff didn't offer. However, It was a major inconvenience to drive back to Cayucos and cancel our day/evening plans to change rooms before the office closed at 9:00pm. We would have been happy to move when we finished our plans and returned around 10pm but that was not an option. 1. No one would be available in the office. 2. They stated that they wanted to sell/book the room with another inquiring guest. We remained in the room, used the restroom in the lobby, and kept the bathroom door shut with the window open- clear view to the outside and other guests. The hotel policy states quiet hours from 9am-9pm and pets to be on leash. That was not enforced. There were multiple dogs running loose on the front lawn at 6:30am. I love dogs but was not interested in hearing the owners play catch with them that early in the morning on my mini vacation. Your awake hours will depend on the guests around you. It's close quarters. I think the lobby could easily offer glasses of water like most hotels instead of charging you $1.50 per bottle. There are so many beautiful beaches along the central coast. This beach is very dirty. I can't imagine you would stay here unless you had to travel with your dogs. It felt like a dog hotel instead of a peaceful place to stay and enjoy the scenery.

Mary M.

Yelp
Our stay was going perfect, until a large black dog charged out of his room to to attach my mom. His mouth hit her arm as it lunged for her. I ran over yelling at the dog and the dog retreated. After talking to the manager of the hotel, they simple offered to change rooms. Allowing the dog and owners to stay at the hotel. Update After speaking with the manager of shoreline about the incident and he was asked why they were not being asked to leave. He stated that he didn't see it happen, so there is really nothing he can do. My advise is, be careful not everyone is able to control their dogs in public or make sure you bleed because that is the only way you will receive help
google avatar

Dale E.

Yelp
Views and beach access make the bit pricey room worth it. Staff super friendly and had great recommendations. They didn't downplay any of the restaurants but you could tell when they were talking a good choice up. Very clean. 2nd story private balconies well worth it. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the balcony...reading a great book..I we just needed some down time. Rather than driving everywhere we made the decision to just try walking to nearly everything in town except for a 1st night Thanksgiving dinner in Morro Bay and a quick night tour to nearby Hearst castle.

Yelp
My sister and I spent 2 nights at this motel. It was very clean and the staff was very nice. I definitely will be staying here again. You are steps from the beach and the view was amazing. Thank you Shoreline Inn for being so kind.

Yelp
My family and I stayed here again this last July and the upgrades and renovation over the past winter have made a wonderful vacation beach get away all the better. Friendly helpful staff, still doggie friendly and perfectly located next to the sand.

Yelp
My +1 and I stayed here on a stormy weekend in March. Well, it was stormy the first night, and then the weather was beautiful. The town is small, and thanks to the weather, it was fairly empty. The Shoreline Inn, however, was still pretty popular. First off, the place seemed nice and clean, which was particularly important considering it's also dog-friendly. We were able to take our little Maltese/Poodle with us, which was wonderful. They have grassy areas for pets to relieve themselves and bags to clean up after. They don't allow you to leave your pets unattended, but the beach is also dog-friendly and most of the local restaurants have outdoor patios and don't mind furry friends tagging along. We had an upstairs room with a balcony and gas fireplace. We loved it! The room heated up quickly and we often had to crack a window to cool it back down. Once the weather cleared up, we opened the windows and had a wonderful cross breeze. The view was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our little dog decided to pee on the bed as soon as we got there (in the evening), but the staff came up and changed the bedding right away and brought a pad to put on top of the mattress until it could be changed in the morning. The only downside we experienced was someone smoking below us (and it was a no-smoking area) but we placed a call to the desk and it was taken care of. We had an amazing time and would love to come back.

Yelp
Love the remodel. Same great service! Coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar available all day.

Mr. H.

Yelp
First night here - check in was great - explored the room looked great - then ventured out to see the town / beach. Came back beds were too low and way to soft - took a shower and the water pressure was just a trickle. Sat down to watch television and that was a nightmare. For what we paid I could have stayed at a best western hotel and would have been happier

Victor S.

Yelp
We stayed for a night. Basic place nothing fancy which seemed to be the norm in Cayucos. Very clean rooms for a motel. Town is small and quaint so everything is within walking distance. Our room was above the office had a fireplace which was nice on a rainy winter night but would opt for the rooms across the way nearer the ocean would seem to not be blocked from a better view. Nice stay probably would try something less expensive next time for what it is.

Yelp
This was such a fun experience and gem of a city! Where Pismo was underwhelming, this exceeded all my expectations. Amy, the concierge, arranged us in an ocean view patio room. We could head the ocean, clean room, easy access for parking, plenty of outdoor seating with views, easy to get to and from the lobby. They're dog friendly, and the people all kept their dogs quiet and cleaned up after them. Walkway directly to the beach, it was quiet at night and breakfast was basic but delicious! We loved it! Thanks for changing a disappointing moment to a wonderful night!
google avatar

Alicia S.

Yelp
Deceptive, horrible customer service and unaccommodating. Staff member Amanda left us stranded on a 1 night family vacation with two young children. And she charged us. We booked this hotel through a 3rd party, got the only 1 bed room available. They would not let us check in when they found out we had 2 young children..saying they can't stay in a room with only 1 bed. Warning - when you book through a 3rd party, it does not clearly state that policy. We got no help at all...what a nightmare.

Yelp
First, the gal at the front desk l, Brenna, is SO NICE and actually seems to care about the place. That's huge. We showed up with four dogs. We were handed two nice water dishes, four blankets, and two packs of dog treats. The hotel is closing for remodeling and we aren't sure why. It's clean, freshly painted, new windows/doors, new floors . Some of the furniture looks a little tired I guess. View out the slider is well maintained grass, the ocean, and the Cayucos pier. Rules are clearly stated (where you can smoke and how to live with dogs). My only wish is for hooks in the wall. The rooms are small and have no closets. Hooks would be amazing. My husband wants a comfortable chair and Netflix but whatever. Lol.

Yelp
I can't think of any place I'd rather stay than the Shoreline Inn. Located right on the beach in Cayucos, this is my idea of heaven on earth. Pet friendly to the nth degree, they give you a dog bowl, cookie bones, and a coversheet for the bed upon check in. We've come here many times over the years, the latest visit being on September 30, our anniversary. It was a last minute decision. I checked out the web cam in the morning, and the weather looked so incredible, how could we resist? Lucky for us they had a beachfront room with a balcony available. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and include free wi-fi, a mini fridge and a microwave. There is a grassy area available for you and your pets, and a rinsing shower next to the beach for wet, sandy paws. They provide a towel in your room for drying off your pets. REALLY, this is as close to sleeping on the beach as you can get, without actually sleeping on the beach.

Rick S.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed the August 2023 and stayed in the beachfront downstairs for 2 nights. This hotel was super amazing and I highly recommend it. The front desk staff was nice and the manager was super nice. Definitely staying again here but this time i will try upstairs. beachfront.

Yelp
I almost didn't want to leave a review, so that this great hotel and town can stay a secret from the masses!! But sharing is caring. Great sleepy beach town and the shoreline inn beachfront rooms are the best in town! Very, very clean rooms. Views and ocean sounds to die for!! Very nice beach, awesome pie store across the street and ridiculous smoked fish/shrimp tacos around the corner. It's always about location, location, location....and the Shoreline Inn has it! Not much to do in town, but that's not why you come here. Great R&R spot. Awesome hotel, the beach and good food.

Yelp
The location is the appeal to Shorline Inn. If your in an oceanfront room you are literally a few steps from the sand. There's a lot of kids here. If your wanting more adult privacy, stay on the second floor. The majority of the families were on the first floor so the kids could play on the grass area. The rooms are basic beach motel rooms but the bed is comfy and it's quiet at night. At check in the staff was very friendly. Never tried breakfast since there's lots of little coffee shops in town easy to walk to. I love how dog friendly the place is. I'll have to bring my little Shitzu next time.

Yelp
This was our first stay here. We had 2 rooms, one was #105 & #103. Room 105 was upstairs and had 2 king beds and a beautiful balcony that overlooked the ocean and pier. Only downside to this room was there was no couch and only a tall table with backless stools. So no where to lounge comfortably to play cards. But down stairs 103 one King and a double and a couch was perfect for just that. I loved that they had actual keys rather than cards to the rooms. There's no air conditioning like most hotels at the coast but with the sliding doors and windows open it cooled down perfectly. The staff was so sweet and helpful. Everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning had delicious coffee, variety of flavored creamers, varieties of teas and hot cocoa. Bagels, toast, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit and boiled eggs. It was perfect! I loved how dog friendly they were and provided towels for the beach or dogs. It's located within walking distance of all of Cayucos. And they had the most lovely Adirondack chairs to lounge on outside the lobby to watch the waves. We absolutely will be back, very affordable and comfortable.

Yelp
Wonderful views and the only inn right on the beach. If you have a dog it's perfect. And if you don't or you had to leave it at home, don't tell. And don't share pictures. Just enjoy it yourself

Yelp
Nice accommodations. Friendly front desk staff. Comfortable room. Wish we could have been in the building closest to the water....those guests had an amazing view from their patios or balconies. We had an end room upstairs and we could still see a bit of the ocean. If we leaned to the right at the sliding door, we could get a glimpse of the pier. Through the big round window at the other end of the room we could see Morro rock. Comfy bed and comfy pillows. Quiet room. They serve a continental breakfast, but we didn't check it out with some of our favorite eating establishments close by. This place is right on the beach and there's a gate at the south end of the property for easy access. Great place to view the beautiful sunsets! Will stay there again due to the beach being just steps away!

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay on a weekend. A slight draw back is that you have to stay two days. Sometimes we just like a short get away. But the staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was large and clean. If you stay upstairs you can leave the door open so you can hear the ocean all night. It is pet friendly. They have coffee, hot choc. Or hot tea all day. I enjoyed that. They have cookies in the afternoon. They have a nice continental breakfast. It's in a great location.

Yelp
All prior good comments were true. First visit here and will definitely be back. Wonder selection of restaurants within a few blocks. Our favorite was Lunada Garden Bistro across the street. Front desk clerk Kristen was a great help giving us insight of the town, Thank you!

Yelp
Stayed a week. Right on ocean, steps to beach. Extremely dog friendly. Nice continental breakfast in lobby with amazing view. Short walk to great restaurants and pier. Partial view from balcony still fantastic. Mermaid themed room with nice amenities and dog inclusive. Will be back.

Yelp
My zen place. We go to cayucos at least once or twice a year and always stay at shoreline inn. I call it our zen place because we go there to relax. The views of the ocean and the sound of the waves are amazing. The staff are amazing and so friendly. The rooms are always spotless. I love the fact that they welcome dogs too. I only wish mine behaved well enough to come along. We just got home yesterday and I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
EDIT: Laila, in response to your pathetic comment below: 1) Users with sense will not "see through" my review - mine is honest and valid 2) The $65 credit you offered me was insulting 3) At no point did I claim that your website or social media accounts mentioned the off-leash dog beach; I was told BY YOUR EMPLOYEE that it is a 3 minute walk, which it is not. 4) I disputed the charge with my credit card company, and I am 100% confident that I will receive the full refund. I gave you the opportunity to do the right thing, and you failed. ------ My husband and I stayed at the Shoreline Inn from Friday, July 6 through Sunday, July 8. We brought our newborn & two dogs. Unfortunately, our stay was not what we were promised which is unacceptable. When I made the reservation, I was told that the off-leash dog beach is a 3 minute walk. I must have called 50 hotels and this was the single most important determining factor for us. As it turns out, the off-leash beach is 1.5 miles away; that's much too far to walk with a baby and two dogs. Had the employee been honest with us, we would not have agreed to stay. The fact that we needed to drive to go to the dog beach made our weekend impossible to enjoy. Packing and unpacking was not what we planned for, and the entire experience was ruined. Additionally, our room was filled with bugs and spiders; when I asked what we should do about it, the front desk agent had literally no solutions to offer us. I emailed the manager to request a refund; her response indicated that bugs are due to the heat, and that the fact that her employee completely misrepresented the hotel's location was a "misunderstanding" - essentially calling me a liar or making excuses for her employee. She refused the refund and instead offered a $65 credit ... completely unacceptable. It's a crap hotel and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I care about. The "breakfast" is a joke, WiFi hardly works, it's dirty, smelly, filled with bugs, and the staff are either highly unintelligent or highly careless (or both).

Yelp
Stayed here in December of 2021. Polite staff upon check in. They even gave us a bowl and a blanket for our dog. Our room was very clean, smelled great, 2nd story patio facing the ocean. The room had a beach house feel. Every other guest we spoke with was very kind and friendly. Almost a mid-western feel. Rear yard of hotel has a dog run, and the beach is like a dog park. Quick access to the pier and plenty of shops to visit in this sleepy beach community. Overall, a great stay!

Yelp
Horrible place. They cancled our reservations at the counter while we were checking in due to the face our kids didn't make it on our reservation list when we booked online. . The manager was rude and said she didn't want kids running around (but they allow dogs in the rooms) she acted like our kids would be bothering people. My kids are very well behaved (11,10,5 years old). She said all her rooms were booked but she had vacancies online. The receptionist at the front counter was very rude also. Found another hotel down the road a little bit. Nicer room. I'll never book at this hotel again.

Yelp
This is our go to place to stay in Cayucos. Pet friendly and most every room has a seaside view. Clean and modern we love it here .

Yelp
Love this place! For ten years my wife and I have brought our dogs here to walk the beautiful beach. Such a great Hotel. Every time we come they have continued to make more improvements to such a beautiful beach hotel. The hotel staff and the maintenance people are the best! If you have ever lived on the beach, you know how hard you have to work on your property to keep it well maintained. (Salt kills everything) This hotel could teach a class on maintenance and cleanliness. Thank you once again for such a wonderful time away!
