I went alone, Quiet atmosphere, relaxing music, smiling staff. I’v order mushroom glazed, and 1/2 portion of beef green curry. The surprise starter with a thinly chicken skin, green apple, kaffir leaf mango sauce and caviar was amazing. The green curry, also If was a half portion was big and filling. Good ingredients, the beef was vary tender, tasty, the vegetables not overcooked, there was lot of green 😊, mild, not hot like the fire ! The mushrooms was delicious, a very interesting vegetable dish, sweetie, a bit spicy but not to much. The root I was a surprise, vary good presentation, perfect for an Italian “scarpetta”, rice on the side to finish! A very good experience! Thanks 🙏

Thoughtfully prepared dishes, filled with wonderfully fresh ingredients, masterfully imbued with the rich complexities of Thai flavours. We ordered the Massaman Braised Duck Curry, Thai Fried Rice, Whole Crispy Fried Fish, Roti and one of the Special's of the Day, which was a sliced pork with chilli jam and Thai basil. Every dish delivered an exquisite unique flavour profile and textures that were scintillating. The staff were quietly considerate, professional and it was such a privilege to see the owner, Martin taking time to call at the tables himself. Every dish was a delight and we look forward to returning very soon to sample the other items on the menu. (P/s. We prefer a quieter dining experience and glad we had an early booking at 5:45pm. Highly recommend for others who also enjoy a gentle ambience.)

Amazing Thai restaurant with exceptional staff. Every dish was a hit, the fish curry and eggnet were the standouts. Cocktails were well prepared, the coconut coffee martini a perfect drink to finish.

With an abundance of modern Asian / Thai fusion restaurants in Brisbane, there are so many that miss the mark or feel like carbon copies of each other. First time visiting and definitely exceeded expectations, traditional flavours yet with their unique flair which makes them stand out. Tasty, fresh and full of flavour. Really enjoyed the night and the service was friendly and attentive. Will definitely return

We found this gem while on a short stay in Brisbane. The moment we walked in the door, the aroma was amazing. The staff were engaging, knowledgeable and friendly. The dishes were exceptional and generous in size. The two of us ordered various half size dishes, which is a great option and perfect way to taste a variety of flavours and dishes. The licences/host Martin is world class. He is fun and chatted to us throughout the night. Brisbane is lucky to have him. If in Brisbane, Short Grain is a must if looking for authentic Thai. I rarely write reviews, but this is very place deserving.

What an experience. Was delighted to dine here on a casual Sunday lunch. The service here was warm and friendly, and I saw Martin working away with his team! He's an amazing guy. Cocktails from the bar and wine selection are very good! Lychee Martini, how could I say no? Food the cuttlefish was amazing with the sweet soy lime dressing. I could drink the dressing. (I wish I had brought a bottle while I was there) The curry for the main of fish was beautiful balanced, loved the strong herbs, and lime I just wasn't too keen on the eggplant peas as I think they took away from the dish with the bitter flavour. The amazing thing about Short Grain is that many of the dishes can be ordered half serves, so you can try many things! I love this concept. The roti was crisp and so good. Dessert a palm sugar caramel custard. Was a stand-out dish! Would have ate another if I could fit it in! Definitely leave room for dessert here! Went during lunch so the vibe was a bit bright. Would be special during night with the lights low. Can not wait to return
