If your looking for a quintessential Wisconsin breakfast served in the capitol this is the place. The hash browns are Olympic gold! And the entire experience is a masters class in business efficiency while still feeling homey and comfortable. This team could teach a masters in business efficiency while from the long self managed line out front that moves quickly to order before you sit, it’s a great experience. We loved it.

Google
Absolutely incredible spot for a nice breakfast or lunch on the weekends. The food is fresh and delicious. I tried the blind special, which lets you order a special for $11.95 without knowing what it is, and was treated to an amazing scramble that was filling and tasty. My friend got the corn beef hash that was also stellar. Highly recommend this spot for a weekend meal.

Very nice portion sizes! The veggies were cooked perfectly in my egg scramble and the Bloody Mary tasted so fresh. My friend said Short Stack has the best breakfast burrito in Madison that she’s tried.

This place is incredible. The blueberry pancakes we ordered were exceptionally tasty. A little concerning for the price of three strips of side bacon for $6.95. Otherwise come in early to avoid the line if you don’t want to wait. Great menu, delicious coffee and juices. Highly recommend for breakfast in downtown Madison. One of the best places around along with Marigold kitchen hen on the opposite side of the square.

The strussel french toast and the Cajun biscuits and gravy are show stoppers. Super good! The French toast was delightfully crispy and sweet with a nice earthy flavor from the whole wheat bread they use. The Cajun biscuits and gravy are excellent. The biscuit is perfectly crispy and flaky with a little sweetness to counter the savory earthy Cajun gravy. We also got the breakfast burrito and the bloody mary. The breakfast burrito was good but nothing spectacular and we didn't like the bloody. It was very vegetable forward, it tasted like a blended relish tray in not a pleasant way. If you really like vegetable smoothies, especially beet ones, you might like it. We will stick with the French toast and Cajun biscuits and gravy. Also, make sure to try the breakfast potatoes. They are very good with a strong rosemary flavor.

**Corner Classic Breakfast** Preface: This corner restaurant serves quality breakfast, cocktails, and sweet treats. The atmosphere is unique and historic, with the eclectic collection of different souvenirs left by past patrons. Food: My party ordered the Pulled Pork Cheese Grits, a Buttermilk Short Stack, and the Biscuits and Gravy. The spices of everything were great with the pancakes and biscuits being extra fluffy. The only issue I had was he Grits were a little too liquidity for my taste. Overall, it was still fantastic. Service: Quick and efficient. Food was brought out in a timely manner. Atmosphere: Quaint and historic, but in a mom and pop shop type of way. Overall: If you ever need a good bite to eat, definitely get in here and get yourself a stack (of pancakes). Score: 4.7 out of 5

Google
Good but not great would be the overall feeling of our visit to Short Stack Eatery. Being one of the most popular spots in Madison I was surprised to see a line when we got there. Nevertheless it was very swift and within a few minutes we had ordered and we were at our table. You order as you come in and find a spot as soon as that is over with. The wait wasn't too long for the food: we got the grits with pulled pork as well as 2 breakfast sandwiches, one on pretzel bread and the other on hot spicy cheese bread. The grits were pretty tasty and you could feel the blend of cheeses in it just like the pulled pork that was very tasty but sadly in a very small amount compared to the massive grits portion (pulled pork really kinda just topped it off) and felt a little underwhelming once you were done with the pulled pork. The breakfast sandwiches were pretty good as well, the star being the buns which is also maybe not what you're looking for in a breakfast sandwich. We tried a shortstack of chocolate chip pancakes which were solid but in my opinion not fluffy and good enough when you're paying more than $3 per pancake. Overall it seemed like the quality could be better for something that you're spending more than $30 per person. Drinks were nothing worth remembering as well (at an average of about $4 each). To finish up I have to add that in establishments like this in which the customer has to order up front, serve themselves the drinks, getting the condiments themselves and getting your own to go boxes, more than a 10% tip seems a little too steep. I'm still unsure on how to deal with these situations when the server really just brings your food and picks up the table. Altogether I probably wouldn't come back here and if I did maybe I would try something else or also get the smaller plates as the regular ones can be pretty big if you want to try other things.

Google
We recently had the pleasure of trying the breakfast burrito it was nothing short of amazing! The food was well cooked and full of flavour - the perfect way to start my day. The service was also great, the staff were friendly and attentive and made sure that my order was cooked to perfection. I was unable to eat the whole burrito, but I was very grateful for the delicious food that I had. If you ever find yourself close or in the area Don't Walk Run!, I definitely recommend the breakfast burrito

Yelp
Short Stack offers a seamless and practical dining experience from start to finish. The ordering process is smooth and efficient, making it easy to choose from their well-organized menu. With options that cater to a wide variety of tastes and dietary preferences, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The food itself is absolutely delicious, with each dish expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. The portions are generous without feeling overwhelming, striking the perfect balance. Overall, it's a fantastic spot that I'll definitely be returning to in the future. If you're looking for great food, excellent service, and a menu that suits all, Short Stack is a place you won't want to miss.

Yelp
Every time I'm in Madison, I make it a point to stop here. I'm usually just passing through so I get here right when it opens, which is one of the best times. It's quiet and it feels like the world slows down for a minute. It's comfortable and also very eclectic, a get your own coffee place. Condiments, water, etc. along the back wall. Order at the counter, they'll give you a number, and then bring your meal out. The menu has a great selection of offerings, but I always get my usual. The pancakes are unreal, so delicious. You will also find adult beverages here as well for those who need a morning/mid-afternoon pick me up. It gets packed so plan well ahead or be prepared to wait a while. Great service. Great place.

Yelp
This place is delicious and tastes like you're eating breakfast at someone's home. The eggs were fluffy, the breakfast potatoes were seasoned well, and the bacon was cooked well and not just fat. The blueberry pancakes were not dense and had great balance between pancake and blueberry. Overall a great place for breakfast in the city. Parking is limited to street parking and a little Difficult so if you can walk I recommend that. You order before you sit down but the staff was super helpful even with to go cups. Lovely place and worth stopping in.

Yelp
Stopped in while visiting Madison. They are known for the pancakes but I went in for the Cajun biscuits and gravy. It's all made from scratch and it shows. They also use farm fresh eggs. My daughter had the choc chip pancakes The only downfall is that they don't have an espresso maker so only drip coffee.

Yelp
This place was great. In Madison for the weekend and wanted to find a good breakfast spot. Was recommended short stack as the place to go. I really like the way the restaurant is set up, I feel like it provides a very efficient eating experience. Different than traditional wait service, you order your food in front and have access to self serve coffee (that you pay for), free water, and free condiments. When your food is ready, they will bring it out to your table. This solves a problem I have experienced a lot at restaurants where I feel like you are sitting with an empty glass of water/cup of coffee for a long period of time. Food here was excellent, I ordered a "trio" of 3 things (essentially a breakfast combo). I got chocolate chip pancakes, bacon and house potatoes. Pancakes tasted of a much higher quality than I am used to, seemed scratch made vs from a powdered mix. Bacon was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were seasoned and crisped to a level I did not think possible. I did not even get a chance to take a picture of the food because it was so good!

Yelp
Great spot for a delicious breakfast in downtown Madison. Came here on a Saturday in the late morning/early afternoon and had to wait for just a bit for a table to open. We ordered at the counter and grabbed a seat. I went with the trio and chose eggs, salad greens, and upgraded to the sweet potato oatmeal pancakes which was a great decision! The pancakes were so delicious and tasted like fall! They were nicely spiced but not overly sweet. Loved the whipped cream that came with the pancakes as well. The short stack was huge! Overall, we loved our meal and the lovely atmosphere. Would absolutely return!

Yelp
Food: 5 The blind special was really good--nice that they don't skimp out on their bargains :-) Service: 5 Very kind staff. My friend's eggs were scrambled instead of overeasy (as she had ordered them), and they switched them without any fuss! Ambiance: Very eclectic environment with interesting decorations. The lighting is fun to look at, and I'm glad they're outwardly supportive of minorities and certain nonprofits :-)

Yelp
I took out lunch from here. Sweet potato oatmeal pancake was my item. I went for full size. And that was enough for 2 people. Pancake was good with excellent flavor.

Yelp
Wonderful place to stop for breakfast right on state street. This place is usually pretty packed but they have a nice patio and service is usually very quick. They have some really tasty vegan and gluten free pancakes and their eggs Benedict is one of my favorites in Madison.
google avatar

Erik R.

Yelp
I the focus on locally sourced ingredients including absolutely delicious blueberry pancakes with real Wisconsin maple syrup. Yummy ! The coffee was a step above normal breakfast restaurants coffee and locally roasted (try the driftless). Usually when UW is in session there is a line so we were lucky on Saturday after the farmers market to get in and a place to sit. It is a bit eclectic as my coffee mug said Madison Sewer District This would be a great place to go before UW football games as they serve bloody Mary's and beer too. Highly recommend if you can get in without a wait

Yelp
Short Stack Eatery is a great little restaurant in the heart of Madison. I went with one other person around 11 a.m. on Friday and it was abuzz with activity. Luckily, we didn't have to wait for a table. However, there are many times when I've walked by Short Stack and seen a line out the door and down the sidewalk. Quite frankly, this is not a spot worth waiting for. Don't get me wrong, the food was delicious. Everything was hot and tasty. The bacon was thick-cut and savory. The scrambled eggs were...scrambled eggs (pretty hard to mess up). But the blueberry pancakes were the star of the show. They were fluffy and I thought I could taste a bit of corn meal in there -- a nice touch! The blueberries were fresh and plentiful. Now if you're wondering why I didn't give Short Stack Eatery more than three stars, I get it. The food was great. But the price is unbelievably high. I don't plan on returning because I can't justify spending nearly $20 on eggs, bacon, and pancakes. I only drank water because I didn't feel like tacking on a few more bucks. The person I went with ordered the same thing, and after tip we were at almost $50 for our bill. There are plenty of other great diners in the area that'll offer you similar quality food for half the price (and no wait time either).

Yelp
Food was delicious!! Best eggs I've had in awhile!! Everything was cooked perfectly. Milkshake was tasty too! They did have a lot of rules, stand here, wait outside if there are 2 people inside. I guess they get busy and it's first come first serve on tables, but besides that it was cute!

Mac B.

Yelp
I'm not sure why people are rating this place 4 or 5 stars but that's way too much. It's a glorified diner, but not in a good way. I love diners, Diners have table service. This place you have to stand in line and order your meal, get your own seat, and pour your own coffee! And that coffee isn't cheap, nor particularly good either. But don't worry, the food runner will be able to find your table because they've given you an old beat up license plate to put on your table. The food is just ok, but nowhere near does it justify the inflated prices. I'm from Chicago and this place is expensive even for there. They even charged me extra for jam. JAM! Finally for the pleasure of all this self service, they still want you flip the iPad on you for the tip. I should be tipping myself! Go elsewhere. I suggest Ogden diner or Hubbard Street diner.

Yelp
Honestly, one of the best brunch places I've ever eaten at! I've been to short stack several times (4-5) and I could rave about this place all day. The best item they have is definitely the sweet potato pancakes. I also love their "blind" item which is a cheaper dish you can order without knowing what it is, and they surprise you with a different "blind" every week (I think? it changes pretty frequently anyway). I have also been impressed by their cajun biscuits, gravy and corned beef hash, and iced cinnamon hazelnut coffee. Other items have been pretty solid as well, but those are the standouts, I've never had a bad experience at this restaurant. Lines can get pretty long on the weekends, so you might find yourself waiting outside for a while unless you go early. Seating system works by ordering at the counter and an employee directs you to an open table.

Yelp
The breakfast trio is amazing! Came in for brunch around 11:30 and was able to be sat in around 20 minutes. Very cutesy and unlimited coffee

Yelp
Came here for breakfast and walked away impressed with the food. Ordered the blueberry pancakes (full sized) and thought that three would not be enough. Well, delicious they were, in my belly they are, and enough they were! There were 7 blueberries arranged on top and I thought, that isn't enough! Well, unlike many fruit-infused baked / cooked items, the blueberries were plentiful and well integrated into the pancakes. Nearly every bite had blueberries and were they tasty! I am singing these blueberries praises - not one was sour or anything but little drops of heaven. Who thought you could get great blueberries in December? Not I. These three pancakes changed my thinking. G had the French Toast. You cannot go wrong there! Delicious enough for dessert and enough to share if you get the full portion. Somehow I helped her and while I became overfull, I am glad I did! Blueberries, strawberries and more, it was great! Now the two drawbacks. First, expect to pay for refills on the ice tea. The basic ice tea sets you back nearly $5 and the refill is $2. And second, avoid the bathrooms unless you are okay with not having privacy. It is coed, which is fine, but one can see inside the stall and the urinal. The ambiance is fun and overall, I really like this place.

Yelp
Short Stack has a casual, sunny vibe that I like and the counter ordering system is actually pretty efficient for the space. This visit, I decided to get a build your own scramble with a side of potatoes & cheesy grits. The scramble was delicious (I got cheddar cheese, bell peppers and mushrooms) and the potatoes were nice and crispy. Glad they gave me a side of sour cream and hot sauce! I enjoyed my grits as well. Grits are a main reason why I come here; it's not easy to find grits in Madison. I enjoyed this Saturday brunch.
google avatar

Jason J.

Yelp
Eat here if you want to stand in the doorway while you try to figure out what you want. Then be forced to pay right away before you get seated or anything. Then find a place to sit. If you decide to order anything else you better be prepared to go back to the entrance desk to order it and pay....again! Keep paying until you're full.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was great! Service was mediocre, it was busy and I loved the place so we're going to give the folks the grace they deserve and come back again soon. They have a very strict ordering protocol which is clearly spelled out, we don't need the "soup nazi" from Seinfeld treatment. If you can't read and comprehend simple instructions, this isn't the place for you.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
Such a classic breakfast spot in Madison! It has been a couple years since I have been, but I wanted to give it the review it deserves. It is almost always busy, so I definitely recommend planning ahead since there is almost always a wait.

John S.

Yelp
Subpar food and a whole lot of excuses and explanations that need to happen. It's not hard to cook breakfast and overcharge for it.
google avatar

Kelly G.

Yelp
Loved it! I had the corned beef hash, and my husband had "The Blind." Perfectly cooked eggs and amazing flavor, this place offers fresh and creative food ideas. The dressing on the greens was outstanding. Service was on point. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Gary A.

Yelp
We arrived about 8:15 on a Thursday morning. There was no line and we were greeted promptly. The have an extensive menu with something everyone would like. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and had a cup of coffee. The coffee is self serve using the vacuum pumper system. The wait for our food was insignificant and the wait staff very pleasant. The blueberries were fresh and had that wonderful pop to them. Very tasty, great experience.

Yelp
I've been coming to Short Stack Eatery since it opened and it is THE place to have breakfast and take your out of town guests for breakfast - all day, even up to 10 at night! Besides getting to deal with Madison parking (SSE's website currently honest about how Madison parking sucks) and standing in the all season line down the block on Johnson Street, you can invite them to try The Blind. One of these days I will get around to being adventurous and letting my breakfast be a sweet or savory surprise! In the first year I left a quirky personal business card under the glass at my kitschy ticket and card filled table. About a year later an associate sat at the table, and reached out when he saw it. Love funky things like that. Also, Short Stack deserves your time as they basically had to go through landlord hell to survive during the pandemic. If you're at all debating between here and anything else in the campus/State/capital area, try Short Stack just out of respect for enduring. Vegan friendly. Ask for the vegan menu! Want more from where your dining dollars go? Short Stack has sustainability initiatives: Achieve racial equity in Madison Improve access to alternative, safe transit for all Minimize waste Sustainable Purchasing (focusing on businesses owned by women and people of color) Memberships in all kinds of equity forward organizations I'm a night owl so breakfast out/breakfast food is rare for me, so I am consistent with blueberry pancakes here. So I don't have an in depth analysis of the whole menu. Just know it's simple, fresh, locally sourced, high quality breakfast food here. See you in line!
google avatar

Johnny R.

Yelp
Stopped by to have some breakfast, it was my first time at Short Stack and WOW! Food was amazing, you really get what you pay for! The quantity was over the top! I was not able to finish my serving and I gave some to a friend who was enjoying a delicious stack of pancakes! Staff were very friendly and service was great. The place had a cozy quiet environment I really enjoyed it.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Service was so good. Staff was super friendly and welcoming and prompt.

Ramina Y.

Yelp
Disappointed out of towner! This place is gross. 1)Was handed a dirty plate. 2)self service - no napkins on tables 3) FOOD IS GROSS - everything is covered in canola oil pretty much 4) nickel and dime for everything ($2 for whip cream) 5) not toddler friendly - handed a 2 and 4 glass cups and paper straws

Steve O.

Yelp
Food was excellent, generous portions and excellent quality. Friendly and efficient staff, great atmosphere!
google avatar

Steve D.

Yelp
The ham on the eggs Benedict was dry and tough to chew. The biscuit they use instead of an English muffin was hard and dry. The breakfast potatoes were burnt. Waitstaff? Just there to clean. It's like they are told to keep their eyes down, don't make eye contact with anyone and never check to see if anyone needs anything.

Susan B.

Yelp
Amazing food! Short wait but well worth it. Mainly self-service- order before you find your own seat and pour your own water and coffee. Would love to return and try other items. They do serve alcohol in form of Bloody Mary's (homemade mix) and various juice and sparkling wine options (I.e. mimosas)

Melissa F.

Yelp
Awesome breakfast "fast" food. Order at the counter and then grab a seat. Highly recommend pumpkin oatmeal pancakes. So delicious you don't even need syrup!
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
Definitely my new favorite brunch place in Madison! This place is legit. The decor is eclectic and the seating diverse-- we ended up at a very long table by the kitchen so we could watch. All the previous reviews raved about the sweet potato oatmeal pancakes so I could not resist, although I am SO intrigued about their menu item "the blind." Essentially it's a rotating special of the day and it's a surprise as to what it is. If you are brave you can order it for $7, but the only info you get about it is if it is sweet or savory that day. If you cannot stand the surprise you can ask what it is but then it's $11. In looking at past photos the blinds seem to always look delicious but I wanted sweet AND savory today. I got the trio, where you can choose three from the below: salad, fresh fruit, a short stack of pancakes (small charge to upgrade to sweet potato or fruit), two eggs your way, or breakfast meat. I opted for scrambeled eggs, fruit, and upgraded to sweet potato oatmeal pancakes. Guys, I did not regret it. The eggs were perfect and seasoned well with visible pepper, the fruit was a nice mix of melon, pineapple, and berries, and those pancakes...YUM!!! Served with a spiced cream and strawberries, they were divine--no syrup needed. My fiancé opted for the biscuits and gravy with eggs and a side of bacon and was VERY happy. And let me tell you, that man is a connoisseur of B's and G's. He even asked for extra gravy. Oh, I almost forgot to mention their bloody mary! I am a huge fan of beets and their bloody clearly has that as a special ingredient as it has that characteristic magenta hue. Not to be hyperbolic but I truly would call it the best bloody I have ever had. It was like a slightly spicy vegetable smoothie. The perfect accompaniment to my trio. Will 100% come back, and hopefully next time we'll be able to bring friends. Love this place!
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast spot. Can get crowded because it's so popular. Tasty, well prepared food. The flavor of the fresh ingredients shines. Order at the counter and have a seat.

Ali P.

Yelp
Great place. Always super busy but moves pretty quick. Be ware of the dinner smell hahah. Also the blind defs recommend. Ordered this and got a savory fried rice breakfast dish.

Yelp
Loved it! We visited on a Saturday morning around 8 and had to wait to get it. They have a sign outside telling you how the line works. Maybe this is a Wisconsin thing, but you order at the counter and pay and then wait for them to bring you your food. Beverages like water and coffee are self serve. I drink a lot of coffee so I was missing the pot on the table. They had good coffee though, and oat milk which was so nice! There are quite a few gluten free options here and they had some dairy free options as well. I was able to get pancakes which anyone who is GF knows is a big deal. I also got berries and cream since they offer cream made out of coconut milk. Score! Everything was so tasty and fresh! Hubby got the Cajun biscuits and gravy which had plenty of spice. He said it was soooo good! Several times he said his side of sausage was hot and fresh and didn't taste like it had been pre cooked and sitting in a warmer. We could have hung out for awhile but the line was getting long outside and we wanted to check out the farmers market. Enjoy!
google avatar

Jitish N.

Yelp
The place was incredible and loved all the variety we tried. We had sweet potatoes pancake, and some more.

Yelp
Easy 5 stars. Short Stack is just such a great spot to visit in Madison when there's not a super long line. If going, you can't miss out on the cheesy potatoes and you must order at least a short stack of pancakes. I will say that while Short Stack is amazing, I don't think I would find myself braving subzero weather in a 20-person deep line just for some pancakes! Pro tip: go later at night for some "breakfast for dinner"! Way less busy with the same great food :)
google avatar

Emily D.

Yelp
I always enjoy eating at Short Stack! I was feeling gutsy, so I ordered the blind special, which was savory. I personally do not like pastrami, but I was able to remove that from the sandwich and really enjoyed it overall! The sauce had a good kick and the side salad was dressed well. My significant other got the French toast and he absolutely loved it. The special caramel butter is really great. If you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, Short Stack is perfect. I recommend going earlier rather than later in the morning to avoid a long line, especially in the winter! However, the line does move quick!
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
I love Short Stack's sweet potato pancakes. Seriously, there's no better breakfast food out there! So good! We got the tasters trio and gave it an upgrade with the pancakes (an obvious must do). And it was good! The potatoes are also delicious and the sauce they give you really makes it. I have to say, there really aren't many veggie options which made me sad. When I was in college I'd always get the blind special and it was amazing, but now I can't because they don't have a vegetarian option of that either. And the prices were a bit steep for our liking. Overall, a great spot to treat yourself out to, especially if you don't have dietary needs!

Yelp
My husband and I decided to try Short Stack this morning before a matinee at the Overture Center. This was the first time for both of us. It is a tad pricy but for the amount of food we received it was well worth it. We both choose the pick 3, with bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes. The menu said 2 eggs but I would bet there were closer to 5. I asked for mine soft and they were perfect. The bacon was amazing too. Hubby got the buttermilk pancakes and said they were very good. I had the sweet potato oatmeal pancakes - AMAZING! The fresh squeezed juice was delicious. We will be returning. Hubby said it was absolutely the best breakfast he's ever eaten. I agree. And we are old!!

Yelp
Short Stack is easily a Madison staple. On the weekends, you can expect a wait out the door and for a reason. Short Stack's ordering method is to order at the counter and then find a place to sit. Sometimes the seating can feel a little crowded but it usually isn't bothersome. They give you a number and bring your food out to you when it's ready. I almost ordered a Bloody Mary but after a quick sample (offered by the cashier), I opted for a mimosa instead. My friend did get a Bloody Mary and enjoyed it (it was a little too vinegar-y for me). I definitely would encourage getting a taste of the Bloody Mary before ordering. My favorite breakfast food of all time eggs Benedict. I get it every time I go out for breakfast. When I tell you the eggs Benedict at Short Stack is amazing, I might be under selling. They use amazing perfectly flakey biscuits and it was such a welcomed piece of the meal. I got the larger order but certainly should have gone for the small order because I couldn't even eat the potatoes, I was so full. I also love the signs sharing the local places that Short Stack partners with. It's so fun to eat local at a local place.

Yelp
Great breakfast spread. Homey diner near the Capitol. Eggs were prepared perfectly. Corned beef hash and pancakes got rave reviews
google avatar

Sofia Q.

Yelp
Service here was super long, but fortunately, I was eventually delivered the most delicious stack of pancakes. These sweet potato oatmeal pancakes are amazing, and I also loved their buttermilk pancakes as well! Must-go if you're ever in Madison, WI!

Yelp
First, we had to wait in line outside, but it was 1000% worth it! Once inside we ordered at the counter, went to our table they brought everything to us. Pancakes were the best pancakes I've ever had!! The bacon was perfect thick cut bacon. Homemade corn beef hash also amazing. We ordered a regular, pear, cranberry mimosa and pear was by far the best!! It's a small restaurant but so cute, all I'm saying is you won't regret a visit here.

Yelp
I came in bright and early to avoid the crowds mentioned in the other Yelp reviews, about 8am. There were only two others in front of me in line, luckily. I quickly ordered some Eggs Benedict and Chocolate Chip Pancakes. I sat down and placed the number on my table, served myself some water, and waited for my food. It came quickly, and it looked so wonderful I went right in. My chocolate chip pancakes were incredible, sweet and packed full of flavor. I didn't even need any syrup to accompany it. The eggs benedict really blew me away, I highly recommend anyone that goes here to try it, it's that good. On a future visit, I might just order the eggs benedict, as that and the pancakes were almost too much for me to eat. There were plenty of tables and seats in the area, which I was happy to see. The waitress I saw was extremely kind, I can't wait to visit again and again for those eggs Benedict

Yelp
This was one of my go to places when I was attending college at UW madison. Their sweet potato pancakes were the most comforting things after a long exam week or just on a Thursday :) also if you go in an get the blind special without asking what it is, you get it for 50% off

Yelp
Solid Breakfast spot in the Downtown Madison area! Highly recommended the biscuits & gravy or the pulled pork grits! It can get busy & is a bit pricey, but it's 100% worth it!

Yelp
Madison seems to love this place. There was a line 5 minutes after it opened when we went. The next two days we walked by and there was a line 15 deep both times. They are doing something right. I'm not from Wisconsin so I just must not understand. Don't get me wrong. It was perfectly fine. That's it, it was fine. Not mind blowing by any means for a breakfast. The Bar. We sat at the bar and the service was great. They have a full bar and you can order booze as soon as they open. Including pours of whiskey is you so desire. I love bloody Mary's but I hated theirs. It's just a weird beety thing. To be fair they give a warning and offer a sample before you order but beware. The food. It was a bit pricey. The portions were average and so was the food. We went there because it opens early. If you are looking for a place to grab an early breakfast and a drink this is your jam. If you're looking for a place to blow your mind this ain't that.
