Shota Rustaveli Boutique Hotel is, without question, one of the best hotels in Tbilisi and truly deserves a place among the city’s top five. The property is beautifully designed, cosy, and full of character, offering a perfect blend of elegance and comfort. Its location is convenient, just a short walk from many of Tbilisi’s main sights and attractions.
From the moment we arrived, we received outstanding service from every member of staff — particularly Anna and Rezi at reception, who were warm, professional, and incredibly accommodating. The housekeeping team were equally attentive, ensuring every detail was taken care of. We genuinely felt looked after as if we were part of the family, which made our stay even more special.
The hotel’s facilities are excellent, especially the gym and the swimming pool, which we enjoyed using every day. The pool is an exceptional feature that you won’t easily find in other Tbilisi hotels — perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. Our room was upgraded by Anna from our second night onwards, and it was absolutely delightful: spacious, homely, and extremely comfortable. The bed was wonderful, and the high-end French toiletries provided in both the bedroom and bathroom were a lovely and luxurious touch.
Breakfast was another highlight — a superb, high-quality spread offering something for everyone. The freshly baked breads, pastries, and muffins were exceptional. For a boutique hotel, the standard of food and presentation was remarkably high. The interior design throughout the hotel — from the lobby to the guest floors — is stylish, well thought-out, and beautifully curated, giving the entire property a refined yet inviting atmosphere.
Disliked · While the hotel was exceptional in every way, our overall experience of Tbilisi itself was unfortunately disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we encountered several scams and felt that visitors are not always treated fairly or warmly. We found many people to be rather distant, and at times, we sensed an unfriendly attitude toward tourists, especially those from different ethnic backgrounds. It was disheartening and made us feel uncomfortable exploring the city.
We were also let down by the local authorities, as the police offered little help when we reported a scam involving fraudulent apps. It appeared that such issues are not recognised as crimes under local law, which made the situation even more frustrating. Despite the city being promoted in the UAE which is odd, our personal experience left us feeling that Tbilisi is not as safe or welcoming as expected, and it’s not a destination we would choose to return to or advise anyone to visit ever.
Our overall experience at Shota Rustaveli was truly wonderful. The hospitality and care we received far exceeded our expectations and turned what could have been a stressful trip — especially after an unfortunate scam and a visit to the police station — into a positive and memorable experience. A heartfelt thank you to Anna and the entire team for making our stay in Tbilisi so special. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.
