A famous temple in Melukote with a lot of historical and spiritual significance. The temple surroundings are clean and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere feels calm and devotional. Puliyogare served here is simple, authentic, and has the best taste. Around the temple, there are many small eateries serving authentic vegetarian meals, which is great for visitors. However, the prices felt a bit on the higher side considering the basic service and modest ambiance. Parking can also be a challenge, especially during weekends or festivals.

Even on Sundays, the temple witnesses a steady flow of pilgrims. We opted for the ₹50 paid darśana, through which we were blessed to complete darśana in around 20 minutes, despite the crowd. As part of the temple’s noble tradition of annadāna, free lunch prasāda is served daily at 12:00 PM. The annadāna bhavan is conveniently located near the bus stand. From the bus stand, devotees need to walk for about 7–10 minutes to reach the temple, enjoying the sacred surroundings of this historic kshetra along the way.

A very good divine place seen people doing dance in front of the temple where there is a dias may be ancient nrithya mandiram which was dedicated for it in those days been on a weekend but not any special days so rush was not much but eventhoug there was a special darshan que so in crowded days which can be utilized

Your trip is truly incomplete without trying the legendary Melukote Puliyogare from the nearby local shops—the taste is authentic and unique to this region. Since the temple is centrally located, you can easily take a short walk to explore the Raya Gopura and the Akka Tangi Kola (twin ponds) nearby. An ancient Hoysala temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. What I liked most was it's surrounding prahara and it's quiet Agraharam and the Sunset Point. Evening Maha Arti with torches and drum sounds was so spiritually satisfying. It was worth the wait(Maha Shivaratri).
