This was probably one of the best restaurants I’ve tried in Bulgaria!! We started with a great bread with a delicious dip. We also ordered a shopska salad that did not disappoint. Then we tried the “meatballs” with potatoes, which were probably the best dish of the meal. They were absolutely delicious!!! The roasted lamb was also tasty and a good choice. Overall, the food was amazing and it is definitely worth a visit! The service was excellent, as the waiter helped us choosing all the dishes and explained them to us. The atmosphere was very nice as well!

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm and welcoming ambiance that blends contemporary style with a cozy, local charm. Outstanding service plays a key role in the experience. The staff are professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making sure every detail of your visit is taken care of. Their warm hospitality adds so much to the atmosphere and makes you feel at home. The food is exceptional—with thoughtful presentation, fresh ingredients, and rich flavors that show clear care and culinary skill. Each dish we tried seemed carefully prepared and delivered a satisfying taste. Whether you’re indulging in traditional Bulgarian specialties or exploring more international flavors, the kitchen brings consistency and delight. In addition, the atmosphere is very pleasant—the interior is stylish yet comfortable, and the overall vibe is relaxed and upbeat, perfect for anything from a casual lunch to a celebratory dinner. If you find yourself in Veliko Tarnovo and are looking for a place with excellent food, top-level service, and a lovely setting, Shtastliveca is a very strong choice. Highly recommended!

6 stars ! I don't give this lightly. It's one of my favourite restaurant experiences world wide! Each thing you order here, will be heavenly good, and equally beautifully presented (generally I think there's an inverse correlation between presentation and taste, but this is the exception!). It's heavily Bulgarian cuisine inspired, but then in its best execution possible, in wonderful surroundings, and at very reasonable prices. Whether you come here, or in Sofia, or anywhere else, the setting is superb (cozy, warm, and superb view over the special houses in Veliko Tarnovo), and the food heavenly. Real traditional fair - improved to the extreme.

Best of the best of Veliko! I waited only 20 min, without having any reservation and a full restaurant. Gracious and helpfull hostess. Restaurant's atmosphere is very cozy and relaxed, with a chill cafe concert music in the background. Food is very tasty, excellent plating and many choices for all desires! Tsetso my waiter was a star, so helpfull and proposed me from a very stuffed menu the best choices of the bulgarian cuisine. Send him my best regards and Tank you!

We were excited. The dishes are bulagarian modern cuisine. Very tasty. The interior is nice and the view is amazing. We would recommended to book in advance, especially for the View. Friendly service, Clean toilets. Prices are correct, you get what you pay for. We can recommend.

Delicious food and a cozy, traditional Bulgarian atmosphere. The staff is very welcoming. It is definitely a place worth visiting at least once during your stay in Veliko Tarnovo.

This was the best restaurant in Bulgaria. The food was amazing; it was the perfect mix between slavic and otoman cusine. Before coming to this restaurant I did not apraciate Bulgarian cusine but this place made me change my mind. The restaurant is beautiful and is located in the city center. The prices are not bad and the service was good.

It was a lavish experience it was Shtastlivetsa. From warm welcomings at the door and plentiful exquisite seating, matched with the panoramic mountain view, the night offered much promise. The decor gives you seats surrounded by victorian art as well as lush furniture. A broad menu gives you large selections of traditional Bulgarian cuisine including salads, soups, pastas and grilled dishes. With a high variety of meats and cheese of cooked excellence. I ordered the prokelko a stewed dished with a variety of meats and vegetables each savoring a delicious bite. The server was quite helpful giving menu descriptions for choosing a great choice. I highly recommend this establishment and I can assure your dining experience will be rememberable.
