I’m surprised by the 4 star reviews. The campground has only one washroom not centrally located. They charge to take a shower (for 4 minutes!) and there are only two for the whole camp ground. Where our site was there is a great deal of public traffic passing by on foot and in cars with no security. In fact only 200 meters away there is a city sign saying to keep no valuables in your vehicle due to theft! For some reason they have a code to use the bathrooms (although the men’s door never closed so no need for a code). On the plus side, the location is great, close to Halifax and it is adjacent to a beautiful public park space with trails, lakes, beaches. It was also clean.

Absolutely a little gem of a campground. We stayed here for 10 days while we were in Halifax for my sister's wedding and we had SUCH a good time. The campground is really well maintained, spots are beautiful with decent space from neighbors, and the facilities (bathrooms and showers) are clean. There is no sewer connection but they have pump out services. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The best part of the campground is that it is located directly adjacent to a lovely trail system and beach. The trail system has offleash dog designated areas, and our dogs loved it. There is a cool little playground, and also a very fun PUMP track just a short walk down the road. Highly recommend Shubie!

Superb location for taking the local bus to the ferry which takes you over to the Halifax waterfront. Heather in the office was beyond helpful in securing a site for me and in person was just as nice and helpful. Lovely beach area and lots of walking trails in the surrounding area. All in all a great stay

We stayed here 1 night while visiting Halifax. We are in the shoulder season so we were allowed to book just 1 night on a non serviced site die $43. Super convenient to go to the Dartmouth ferry terminal (free parking) and go across to downtown Halifax. We walked to the Citadel, Public Gardens and then dinner on the boardwalk. Ferry runs every 15 minutes until about 11 pm. Campground is a typical commercial campground, sites close together, with pay showers and a clean washroom. There is a park with trails right next to the park but we didn’t explore them. Would recommend if you want something convenient to Halifax.

Vintage all original Airstream trailers were fully stocked with the exception of food obviously. The one we rented unfortunately had the original gas stove not survive the trek to the campground however they supplied a brand new BBQ and full 20lbs propane tank so really can't complain. Grounds were quiet with the exception of the highway you could hear during rush-hour. Absolutely a great time for those wanting to try out a trailer before actually owning one or for those, like me, who simply can't be bothered with a tent.

Blair and Heather made sure our stay at Shubie Campground exceeded all expectations. Many of the "older' campsites were designed with power and water towers on the passenger side so we needed extensions to reach our outstretched electric cord and sanitary hose. Blair made that happen. The bathrooms and showers were clean and more modern but could use some more updates as well. The location of the Campground with proximity to lakes, canal and bike trails make it ideal for the active traveler and it's convenient location as it relates to bus and ferry connections makes it easy to use as a central location for sightseeing in and around Halifax and Dartmouth

Safe quiet place to stay, owners were very polite and friendly. Lots were a good size and campground was close to everything. We did not have nice weather but we were able to shop locally and visit our family. Would be nice if they had septic service on each site for longer stays.

Stopped there during a road trip and it was a great decision. The premises are clean, the owners are very welcoming, and all the services are top-notch. It’s so close to Halifax, it was great to be able to take our bikes into the city and to be able to do some paddleboard on the lake. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This "campground" is barely big enough to contain all of the bullshit your in store for should you enter it's grounds (all 50 feet of them). I know what your thinking however, I bet the compensate by having a wonderful staff and a variety of park like activities (as this closely resembles a park with a fixation on dictatorship) but this is not the case, in particular this old lady had me fearing for my own life and those of the small children jammed into this grounds. While closely resembling the features of a gargoyle, her communication skills mirror her image. She is also quite liberal with assigning blame, and punishment... which of course is a hefty fine. Should you happen to find yourself in this area please prepare yourself by simply turning around and not endangering your wallet or pride. Truly the worst experience I've had camping, please don't share in my mistake
