Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar

Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar was exactly the kind of laid-back seafood spot we were craving. We started with a tray of raw oysters on the half shell served ice cold with lemon, cocktail sauce, and horseradish and they were fresh, briny, and super clean. The shrimp boil platter was a hit too big, perfectly cooked shrimp with great seasoning, plus corn on the cob, slaw, and plenty of melted butter and lemon to make it messy in the best way. Bonus points for the fun seasonal drink specials the creamy holiday martini-style drink topped with whipped cream/sprinkles (and the gingerbread garnish) was basically dessert in a glass. Friendly service, relaxed “shack” vibe, and solid seafood all around. We’ll definitely be back!

Shuckin’ Shack in Wilmington is such a solid spot for fresh seafood. From the moment we walked in Kendall at the bar had us taken care of! The oysters are always cold and clean, the shrimp is seasoned perfectly, and everything tastes like it came straight off the boat. It’s also one of my favorite places to catch games on a Sunday because the vibe is fun, the TVs are everywhere, and the beer specials are actually worth it. Super easy place to relax, eat good food, and hang out. Definitely recommend.

New Years Day we drove downtown Wilmington and were hungry for oysters beer and dinner! Had our favorite oysters, southern salts from Hold Fast oyster, got a cup of amazing clam chowder my wife opted for the seafood gumbo with grit cake and we must have thought that wasn’t enough and ordered a couple wings and steamed shrimp! Everything!!!! Was excellent including our bar staff Mallory and Jill! Couldn’t ask for anything more for our first meal of the trip!

We had a fantastic experience! The raw oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious, and the Mahi tacos were absolutely mouthwatering. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was top notch. The staff and waiters were amazing friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great seafood dining experience!

We had a wonderful time. Food was fast, and our waitress, Alissa, was so sweet. She seated us quickly, and constantly checked in on us to make sure the food was good. We visit Wilmington frequently, and do plan on coming back. Also the pricing was very fair, and portion sizes were great. Thank you Alissa for making it such a great experience for our family of 12!

One of our favorite spots for fresh seafood! Saul T’s Steampot is always our “go to”. Plenty of crab legs, oysters, clams and shrimp. We tried the Gumbo last night. OMG! It was amazing! I’m going back for this real soon! Wonderful staff. Clair is awesome! Check out their daily specials.

As a group of 5 adults, we came in today for lunch. The atmosphere was casual, comfortable and just our style! Our server Hannah was so fantastic that one of our folks offered her a job in Maryland! The food was excellent! The oysters were beautifully shucked and were plump, fresh, and oh so delicious! The salads were fresh & crunchy, the chicken tenders were yummy, the fish sandwiches were to die for, and the fries are now my favorite ever. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town! A bazillion stars!

We bought some big, beautiful head-on shrimp, blue crabs, and some fry mix. Prices were great. Sue, the owner is amazing! So helpful and sweet! She fixed us some soft shell crabs, which we'd never had before and they were fantastic! A new favorite for us. We gave her multiple hugs and had to get a picture with her! 100% recommend this place, Sue and her "fishmonger supreme", Daryl!
