Old-school soda fountain serving local ice cream, housemade sodas, sundaes & sandwiches.
"Shug’s Soda Fountain should be your go-to for dessert at the Market. They serve classics like New York-style egg creams and banana splits, as well as more modern creations like prosecco sorbet floats and a s’mores hot fudge sundae made with homemade marshmallows roasted to-order with a blowtorch." - aimee rizzo
"Shug’s gives the old-timey soda shop vibe a 21st-century facelift, dishing up sundaes, shakes, and floats made with ice cream from Lopez Island Creamery in a bright, airy space. Their adult libations, like a prosecco float and a shake spiked with Kahlúa and cold brew, are just the thing to soothe one’s nerves after a summer day at Pike Place Market." - Sophie Grossman, Eater Staff

"Pike Place Market mainstay Shug’s drips old school soda fountain charm at 1st Avenue and Pine Street, with a takeout window that offers sundaes and drink kits to go. The bubbly champagne or prosecco floats come with a choice of sorbet: guava, mango, or peach. For those imbibing onsite, masks are required." - Megan Hill, Gabe Guarente
"Since last fall, Pike Place Market’s retro Shug’s Soda Fountain and Ice Cream has been planning a smaller West Seattle shop appropriately called Shug’s Mini, with an eye on opening this spring or summer. But it looks like it may be a bit longer before it’s ready. Co-owner Colleen Wilkie told West Seattle Blog, “We are STILL waiting on the City of Seattle for permits.” When it does arrive, there will be fewer ice cream flavors, but customers can expect some of the most popular menu items (such as the Shugsicle with orange soda and vanilla ice cream) will make appearances." - Gabe Guarente
