Upon arrival, the resort initially resembled a demolition site with rubble scattered at the front, creating an impression that it might not be open. However, behind this, the reception area was quite nice and we were greeted by friendly staff. The resort itself has a rustic charm with beautiful palm trees, coconut trees, grassy areas, and sandy pathways leading right onto the beach. It truly is a picturesque place.||Our experience took a downturn when we got to our room. The air conditioning did not cool the room, making it unbearably hot throughout the night. My partner, who is Filipino, also struggled with the heat. We ended up placing the mattress directly under the aircon unit to get some relief, but this made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep.||Adding to the discomfort, a rooster crowed from 3:13 AM until 5:30 AM, joined by a local dog around 4 AM, which kept us awake. The next morning, the reception staff were eager to help and promised to fix the aircon issue, but it seemed to be a problem with the unit itself needing regassing or being too old. We spent another sleepless night, even with a noisy fan provided by the hotel.||By the second morning, after enduring another night of heat and noise, the hotel finally moved us to another room. The aircon unit in this new room also did not cool effectively, but we managed to position the bed to catch the breeze, which allowed us to sleep better for the remaining two nights. My friend, staying in another room, reported that his newer aircon unit worked too well, suggesting inconsistent maintenance standards.||Other issues included a blocked shower that took multiple complaints to get fixed, with the water flow being constricted due to a blocked filter. The resort clearly needs some TLC for the sake of its guests.||On our final morning, we tried to extend our checkout by an hour but were denied. We ordered a cappuccino at the bar, which turned out to be instant coffee because the kitchen staff hadn’t turned up. The receptionist tried to help but couldn’t make a proper cappuccino.||Overall, the resort didn't ruin our break in Siargao, but I would recommend reconsidering if you are not used to high temperatures and noisy animals in the early morning. Avoid rooms two and four due to their old air conditioning units and poor showers; room three has a great aircon unit.||In summary, I just wanted the basics: a cool room, a quiet morning, a proper cappuccino, and a functional shower. This place taught me to tolerate less than I would expect at a well-run establishment. If you can tolerate the heat and noise, the location and scenery are beautiful.||I hope this review helps future travellers.
