Siboney Beach Club is a small, beautiful hotel. I wish the grounds were larger so that you could stroll around more, but it does the job. I was in a Junior Suite on the 1st floor (there are three floors: ground floor, first floor, second floor).
LOCATION: It's about a 15 minute drive into the city. There are no stores/shops etc. within walking distance so you would either need a car or a taxi to move about.
ROOMS: CLEAN, spacious and a modern feel. There's a rainfall showerhead but I would prefer a regular detachable showerhead.
ROOM SERVICE: I don't know why, but I had to leave a note asking for the housekeeper to leave toiletries (they were there the first day I arrived but for two days in a row, my room was cleaned but some of the toiletries weren't provided. Why do I have to ask for this?! Anyway, they were provided every day after I left the note).
I also think the balcony should be swept and mopped (the room itself was impeccable (I really want to stress how clean the room was) but I don't think the housekeepers cleaned the balcony; I could be wrong).
BTW, Siboney, please add a note and pencil to the rooms like most hotels do!
BED: the bed is too high! Or maybe I'm too short! Nah, it's too high; I've stayed at multiple hotels.
ROOM VIEWS: the rooms are advertised as pool view and garden view. I'm not sure which one mine was because I mostly saw the grounds but could see a bit of the pool. I honestly don't think it matters. Maybe people on the highest floor can see the beach.
BEACH: Dickenson Bay beach is beautiful, however, the piece of the beach directly in front of the hotel is very small, so I imagine how busy and uncomfortable it must be during peak tourist season.
The hotel is right on the beach though, so I'd say between walking to your room and the beach is no more than a 1 to 2 minute walk. I'm sure there are some rooms that could get to the beach in 30 seconds, honestly.
FOOD: a la carte breakfast at Salt Plage Restaurant is included for guests who booked directly with the hotel. I think the menu options are limited. There is very little for a vegan or vegetarian (not counting the fruit platter) to choose from, although I'm sure the staff would help the best they could. There are lots of options for egg, ham and processed meat lovers, though.
AMENITIES: *small gym but again, it does the job: weights, treadmill, leg press machine and some others.
*pool*lounging spots around the pool but I'm sure it can feel a bit crowded during peak tourist season because the hotel is just so small.
*conference room, spa and convenience store
*beach bar (the rum punch I had upon arrival definitely tasted like there was alcohol in there. I say this because a lot of the time, when hotels give you rum punch, you can barely taste the alcohol). <<<EDIT: I think SBC misunderstood this comment. Some hotels offer rum punch but you can barely taste the rum. What I'm saying is that I opted for the rum punch and I could actually taste the alcohol, so I was happy it wasn't watered down.
All in all, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it and I can see myself coming back BUT I don't think the hotel is worth the 400USD per night they charge!
