Wow!! A visit to StL where friends raved about Side Project Brewing! Lots to 💕 here from unique beers and ciders to freshly made foods.. topped off by a team highly skilled in hospitality! Grateful 😌

Blake Rasmussen

Google
One of the best breweries in the country and some of the best staff in the business. Great beer, great food, great service. It’s a must stop and the main reason I come to St Louis.

Hunter Heman

Google
Some of the best beer around and even in the US. I always stop when driving through stl area. Service has always been great. Their food truck in the back is also fantastic.

Google
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great beers. Great food! I highly recommend the spicy chicken sandwich. It’s like a Nashville hot chicken sandwich but their spin on it. Then the cheese curds are also delicious, dusted with spice, they’re hot. Come for the beer, come for the food. You won’t be disappointed.

Google
I usually do my beer reviews on Untapped and food & experiences here, but the experience here was fantastic. They do serve food, but we did not have any this time. The staff was knowledgeable and passionate about the brews. The atmosphere is a wonderful open space that still felt cozy. If you are looking for a tasty brew, look no further, these guys were voted number 2 in the world! Pic is of this deliciousness Beer : Barrel : Time 2024 A blend of Imperial Stout recipes (O.W.K., Vibes & Chocolate) aged in 4 to 8 year old Willett Family Estate and Still630 barrels for 16 to 29 months.

Google
The beer is world renowned, enough said. The food though, it doesn’t even have to be this good!!! The burger and chicken sandwich were so delicious. Also highly recommend the Nashville hot cheese curds. Great spice to them.

Google
My husband is a "member" of this brewery because he's here for work so often. So I went with him for the first time, on a family trip this time. I really really enjoyed the beers. I'm a sour fan, and their sours were phenomenal. The bartenders were able to suggest which ones I should try based on my likes. They are how sours are meant to be... Not overpoweringly sour, but smooth and just the right amount. The food option here is small and from a food truck, but it's pretty delicious for a food truck. I got the pulled pork and hubby got Nashville hot chicken. They also had a kids burger, which my daughter enjoyed.

Google
I don't drink alcohol. But this place seemed very nice and friendly. There were also board games you could play while enjoying your drink. Definitely worth exploring!

Yelp
This place is neat. However parking is extremely limited and the prices are a little high. That being said the food is a generous portion and very flavorful. If you want to try some good local brews check this place out. Be warned they close at 8pm on Friday and Saturday. They have plenty of games to play while you drink and eat. The bartenders are very nice and quick!

Yelp
If you like beer, this is the place to go! Even if you don't, they still have some other options and the food is quite tasty as well. Parking can sometimes be a little bit of a challenge, so I recommend going at more off-hours, but you can usually find something somewhere. The staff is always friendly and I love watching them interact with the dogs that come in! Speaking of, if you have a dog they can come and the staff seem love to give them treats.

Yelp
Side Project Brewing is such a gem in STL. I had no idea it existed until several months ago. They don't have big signage out front. My fiancé and I tried many samples of their unique beers. We sat at the bar and also got their Parmesan fries and they do NOT skimp on the cheese! Our bartender Alex made our experience one to remember and we appreciated him helping us out with finding options we liked!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely unbelievable! Every beer I've tried is unique and delicious in different ways. Their service is fantastic and so friendly. Great vibes from the crowd, too. Don't sleep on the fries or Nashville hot cheese curds . Favorite pours include Tides (pictured), Parallels (barrel aged stout), LOAM, Oma, and Opa - especially when it's on the side pour. Their side pour beers may take about 10 minutes to pour, but worth it!

Yelp
We stopped in on Mother's Day and it was the perfect spot for a drink and a quick and delicious bite. The burger was incredibly filling and flavorful, the salad was lemony and covered in Parm, the fries were paired with the most indulgent lemon aioli! I paired my food with a Mexican Sprite while my partner and friends had the draft beers! The staff/service was top notch. We will be back! They have board games in the corner and are kid friendly with a mini burger on the menu.

Yelp
Great spot! Highly recommend crispy chicken sandwich it was the best!! Loved the pear apple cider for a sweeter drink. Great service too.

Yelp
They have food now, it all looked delicious - their food truck out back ordered & served right to your seat. I love to sit at the bar, service is fast and bartenders share so much information on their beers. The beer is award winning - I love their sours. Can be busy but is not a loud brewery.

Yelp
So glad my friend that recently moved to Maplewood suggested this place for our friend date night. This place had the setting I constantly am looking for when searching for places our pup Teddy would be allowed. Also has a decent food menu selection given this is a place meant for drinks and allows well behaved leashed pups inside the venue. Order at the counter and it is less pressure for all the guests as they can order when ready. Please keep up the great work and continue to make this venue door friendly. We now have another winter option to bring Teddy for future HH / food and beer outings.

Yelp
I had a great evening at side project brewing. We went to try the new food menu. It was very good! I ordered the smash burger. It was delicious with the caramelized onions and apple cider dijan aioli. The French fries it came with were perfection. Nice and thin but also salted and fried perfectly. My husband ordered the pork shoulder sandwich which was impressive and the salad verde was the best touch! We really want to come back to try the spicy chicken sandwich. Obviously the beers are also really good but our reason for coming was to try the new food menu! My only complaint from my evening was how hot it was inside. We would have stayed longer and tried more beers but we were too uncomfortable with the temperature. It appeared the thermostat was at 79... They do have a small parking lot behind the restaurant which is nice

Yelp
We visited St. Louis for a concert and at the very top of my list of other things to do while in the area was visit Side Project--I did not come away disappointed. The beer was as good as I've been fortunate enough to have from them and the food was as good or better. It was a little warm in there which I thought was weird, but all-in-all it was a fantastic visit and the atmosphere was great. We also were fortunate to receive a complimentary taste and knowledge of a beer from the staff which was very much appreciated.

Yelp
We are lucky to have one of the top ranking breweries in the world right in our backyard and that is the Side Project Brewery. They are popular for their barrel aged stouts and farmhouse ales. However, they are likely to have a beer style that suits any beer lovers fancy. My wife prefers pilsners and they had a lovely one on tap called Guff, a Czech Pilsner poured from a patented Czech pouring mechanism tap (pictured sideways tap) that was out of this world! We ordered the slow pour which takes about 10 minutes to pour but well worth it leaving a frothy, creamy head bursting with hop fragrance and flavor. I also had a 10 year Rose' du Ble' a tart Belgian style farm house ale aged 10 years. Absolutely delicious! We also had an Opa Pilsner which was crisp, and fresh and the grand finale was the MJK 2024 English Barley wine aged 32 months in Willet bourbon barrels. Absolutely fantastic, but beware of the deceiving 20% abv. Side Project also recently added food to suck up the suds nicely. We had a hot fried chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger with bacon jam both with shoe string cut fries. The pretzels were also delicious, hot and fresh brushed with sweet butter sauce. Cheers!

Alex S.

Yelp
Side project has food now, so an essential maplewood spot became more noteworthy. I'll only touch on the food because the beer is well known as some of the best in the country. I had the chicken sandwich and fries. The fries are perfect. Skinny, salty, just the right amount of crispy. The chicken sandwich is also great. Great bun, crispy breading. Nice spice level. Maybe on the higher end for some, but u would rate it about a medium spice level. Only note would be the chicken would Benefit from more salt to really bring the flavors together.

Yelp
Love this place and the beers! Stop by and try ANYTHING!!! Staff is always nice & it's pet friendly!

Yelp
I met some friends here when I was in town for a visit. They were there for a beer trade event. Cool place, very casual and a mixed group of folks. People had brought their dogs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is no food on premises but the pizza place across the street will deliver. The pizza is okay. NY style the bottom crust was a bit too soggy for me. Definitely a great place to grab some different beer and hang out with friends. The only downside is the parking it is limited and one way to a dead end. There is more parking across the road though.

Yelp
They make really fantastic beer! I am also excited to try the new food menu! Staff is always very friendly.

Yelp
Side Project is one of the best breweries in the world. I'm not exaggerating - according to Untappd, they are the 13th best in the world. However, 8 of the ones ahead of it are meaderies, not true breweries, so it's more like Side Project is 6th. They specialize in stouts, saisons, barley wines and the like. I've never had a bad beer from them, or even an average, unremarkable beer. So if you are looking for some spectacular beers, this is the place to go. Truly excellent beers. They also have some good beers from other breweries, like Bourbon County Stout. Side Project is their flagship brand, but they also make beers under the Shared label; many of these are excellent too. As good as their beers are, I only gave them 4 stars. Why, mainly, it's because I find some of their business practices frustrating. Many of their beers you have to buy a 750 ml bottle of. You can't get it on tap. These bottles are not cheap - $50-75 or more. As good as they may be, I find it difficult to justify that much for a beer. I would generally be willing to pay a portion of that for part of a bottle, but they may or may not offer that option, and often usually not when come out with a new beer. Sometimes you can buy one of these 750 ml bottles but you have to drink it on site. Again, frustrating. If you come in for a beer, know that everything is going to be over$5/glass. The stouts will generally be $10 or slightly more. I do like their beers and will continue to go here, but know that you have to play by their rules.

Yelp
I was lucky to have enough time on the afternoon of New Year's Eve that I could stop by Side Project for a glass or two of their stellar, connoisseur-grade brews. Side Project (SP) is literally world renowned and among the top rated breweries in America. If it's sour, stout, and/or can be aged in a barrel, SP will be on point. I make sure to visit whenever I'm in town and circumstances allow. These beers are worlds away from the Budweiser that defined StL beer for generations. Thank God. This was my first trip to the Cellar. Parking's easy and free. I found a spot at the bar and pondered--the barleywine I'd hoped for was only on tap at the brewery, closed today. No matter. Staff were friendly, freely offering to answer any questions. My first glass was a tart and tasty Raspe #1, a Missouri wild ale aged in oak barrels on red raspberries. Pucker up and enjoy! On its heels came the most robust version of Mexican chocolate stout ever to cross this palate. I took home a four-pack of DDH double IPA made by Shared, SP's sister brewery, and later wished I'd grabbed four more. The brewery's located a couple of minutes west on Manchester and offers a more open, airy ambiance, but the same superb beers and staff. Highly recommended!!!!

Yelp
Order: Shared Obscura - American Stout Infused 3x w/ Madagascar Vanilla Beans Omggggg such a beautiful Stout that was perfect for the frigid weather! I'm resistant to drinking a cold beer on a cold day which has kept me on good behavior, but now I'm realizing I can have a cozier 58 degree bevvie on a cold day so look out, world! Fun discovery - so glad I finally made it into this place. Cool vibe & with a palpably deep respect for the art of brewing! I feel smarter & more sophisticated just having been there.

Yelp
Best place for beer in STL. World renowned beer and staff. The environment is spacious and well done. I came in to try several beers like coconut vibes 2020 and 2021 along w the derivation. The quality of the beer is superb and cannot be outdone. The staff was extremely knowledgeable as I asked several questions regarding each beer. They also were courteous and friendly. I always come here if I need a good pour of anything. They also have great choices for whiskey. Stop by if you haven't. It's a must in the STL beer scene
google avatar

Yelp
Don't sleep on this place! If you want exceptional beer, service, guidance, ambience, and conversation - look no further. The staff was top-notch friendly, providing me (a new to STLer) with restaurant recommendations, and even homemade pasta-making tips and tricks . Added bonus, SPB is dog-friendly inside of the tasting room (Manchester Rd location) - which, if you're a dog-parent, you know can be hard to find. So, cozy up with some AC, your pup, loved ones, and a glass of the worlds' finest (seriously, one of the top breweries in the world) - and enjoy all that the Maplewood area has to offer.

Yelp
Absolutely the top brewer in the US. Enjoyed the Watermelon Sour and the amazing Deviation Stout

Yelp
Side Project is an industrial modern farmhouse brewery serving tasty beers, wines, and ciders in the heart of Maplewood. I don't think there was ever a time when there wasn't a line. Side Project has something that keeps the people coming back for more. The beer here is unique and tastes great. The atmosphere is clean and laid back, and there is a shelf full of board games to play so you can grab a beer and some friends and enjoy your weekend afternoon. This bar is also dog friendly! Worth checking out, especially if you enjoy sour beers (Side Project has other kinds of beers, but sours are their specialty). You can also purchase bottles to take home with you at a very reasonable price point.

Yelp
Busy on a Saturday night, but it is a very fun place. Bartenders are very knowledgeable and friendly. Food is good bar food. It was hot and tasty.

Yelp
Some of the finest beer you can get if youre into Stouts, NE IPAs, or anything Wine Barreled. This stands among a top tier class of breweries that I hold dear, such as Treehouse, The Bruery, or Jester King. Granted, they dont have tons of their on draft, nor do they allow you to take some of their more popular stuff to go, but time comes to a standstill and the fruits of their labor become your pride and joy. All the aches and pains of my worldly existence vanish as I sipped these wine barreled beers.

Yelp
When my wife and I first started dating she lived in Maplewood just a few blocks away from Side Project. At first it was just a quirky bar. It is in a modest building, and set just far enough Sutton that you can easily pass it by. Inside there are two bars and a handful of tables. It closes relatively early, so it never quite takes on the more rambunctious atmosphere you get at other bars. The always have a large selection of beers, particularly sour beers. I rarely look at the menu. I typically just ask one of the helpful bartenders for their suggestion given what type of beer I'd like. We have very much enjoyed going to Side Project Cellar over the years. The only negatives are that it closes early and there is not a ton of room. This is the sort of place where you go with one other person or perhaps a group of four. It is not an ideal stop with a large group. Go with a good friend, have a beverage, and just chill out for a couple hours. I'd also recommend checking out their brewery which is only a few blocks away.

Yelp
Unique delish beers with really artistic/creative labels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Great beer. Great Service. No Military Discount. So many breweries here in the Midwest offer a discount for active duty. I guess over priced beer doesn't count. Shame:
google avatar

Casey M.

Yelp
There's a reason this place is one of the top rated breweries in the country - the beer is good. Plain and simple. We went there because they specialize in sours, although they only had one actual sour. The beer was also a bit pricey. Beyond that, the servers are friendly and helpful. They gave great advice on what to order. They've got board games/TVs to keep you entertained while you enjoy the drinks and cool aesthetic. They don't sell food, but there's a pizza place nearby that will deliver to the brewery. They are also very dog friendly, I went with my dog and they gave her water and treats.

Yelp
Manchester Road is a hub of microbreweries in the Lou, with Side Project in Maplewood being a real gem. Somehow I missed finding this place in the past, until I saw reports on the news they were recently voted #2 microbrewery on the country. I really liked their IPA. I forget the name...but it was the lower alcohol of the 2 they made. Very smooth! The place was a little cold inside....until we found a table in the dart room....fun overlooking the brewing area. If you're into craft beers, this is a great find!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic. This place is a beer enthusiast's dream. First of all, I love this spot. I stopped in recently to catch up with a friend. We sat at the bar to have a couple beers. Rachel helped us out with tons of suggestions and ideas on what we'd like. The staff is consistently helpful and is happy to educate and get something in front of you that you're going to like. Something that is unique about Side Project Cellar over any other bar that I know of in St. Louis is that they have a system to regulate the temperatures beers are served at. It's pretty amazing to go somewhere and have a draft beer served at the ideal temperature it should be served. I also love the intimate setting. It feels really nice, but not stuff. I've heard some folks say the prices are a bit high, but when you know the quality of the beer you're getting and the care they put into serving it, the prices are completely reasonable. Cheers!

Yelp
I have heard The Side Project be discussed in the St. Louis area the past few years. Since it is not a distributor, none of its products are sold anywhere other than at the Cellar or Brewery two blocks down the street. I was researching on Yelp where my family and I should eat lunch after shopping at the Schlafly Farmers Market when I came across Side Project. I recognized the name, saw it was walking distance from Schlafly, so we gave it a try. We sat down around 2pm, the bar was full but the tables were mostly empty. We were immediately served water and given the library book, or menu. I had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. There were so many options! From Side Project Saison aged in a Pinot Noir barrel to Nitro Stout from Europe. I told the bartender that I tend to drink Ciders, Sours, or Fruit beers and she suggested the Biere Blanche Blend. It was very tart, just the way I like to enjoy a sweeter beer. My step dad had a hibiscus saison from Side Project which was light and refreshing. My mom enjoyed a Nitro Oatmeal Stout from an external producer. It was the smoothest Stout I have ever tried! I could tell the bartender and manager were very knowledgeable about the brewery and what they served, but it happened to become extremely busy during our visit. Unbeknownst to us it happened to be a double IPA release day for Snowy Window. The line was out the door for people coming in to buy multiple 4 packs, it was sold out within two hours of opening. This is a creative microbrew that only produces small batches with an ever changing menu. You are definitely paying for the quality which can be tasted in great depths of flavor. I will definitely be returning to try more adventurous flavors and bringing other guests along.

Yelp
I was so excited to come here and my husband and I expected to be wowed. Maybe it was just a matter of too-high expectations compared to reality, but our visit was just okay. They specialize in spontaneous fermentation, currently primarily with saisons and wheats. They did have several barrel aged brews, but again, mostly in a lighter style beer. Looking at past brews on a different app, we thought they might have more creative, dark style barrel-aged beers (think Avery or New Holland). Not so, at least today. The cellar has both Side Project brews as well as other craft beers. You can get 1/2 pours on some offerings, though not all. The interior has a cool vibe, but the staff wasn't particularly welcoming or friendly. Th woman who helped answer my husband's question seemed visibly irritated with his questions, so it felt a but uncomfortable for me after that. I'm used to really friendly brewery experiences. Of the craft breweries we've visited in St. Louis so far, this was my least favorite. While today's selection weren't my favorite, the spontaneously fermented saison aged in Chardonnay barrels that my husband ordered was a good beer and good representation of the style. It had a nice nose, too. So if that style is your jam, you'll probably enjoy Side Project more than we did.
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
Top notch craft beer spot in St. Louis. With its main brewery and taproom a couple of blocks away, the Cellar offers a smaller, more intimate spot with some of Side Projects finest beers. The feel here resembles more of a sophisticated wine bar rather than the normal hustle and bustle of a brewery. A couple of small bars and a handful of high tops make this a great location, especially if in search of some of Side Projects most hard to find brews. The wood decor throughout, and the collection of some of the worlds best empty beer bottles really contribute to the great feel. As well as the great finds for on site consumption, there's also a good amount of bottles to go and a nice assortment of merchandise for sale. I was extremely excited to find a bottle of 'Anabasis' while here and enjoyed it with a couple of friends, safe to say it was the best Barrel Aged Barleywine I've ever had! You should definitely check out both locations if in the area but as far as some of the best quality beers, the 'Cellar' takes the cake for me!
google avatar

Wes A.

Yelp
There is a reason they are considered one of the best breweries in the world, the stouts are insanely good. However, you may not be able to get them on draft. Certain stouts are only released in a 750ml bottle, which can be $50 or more.
google avatar

Aaron B.

Yelp
Never had an SP beer I didn't love. Their mastery of wild beers and barrel fermentation is top notch. We especially enjoyed their patio space and their knowledgeable staff. Upper end beers for sure but completely worth it. The 5oz option allows for a flight of sorts. Take home tons!
google avatar

Mary A.

Yelp
This location for Side Project is currently open on the weekends only. It is an extension of the original location located just around the corner on an adjacent block. Large windows make the place bright and inviting. There are several tables throughout, including a longer communal table. There are also seats at the bar. You can choose to wait in a line in the center of the bar and order, or if there is a seat at the bar, you can be waited on when they see you sitting. The menu board is immediately visible when you walk in. All beer, prices, sizes, and a brief description is listed for each beer. Super easy to order since you know exactly what you are getting. Half pours are available. It's unclear if samples are available- at the original location, they were not offered, but here, the couple next to me had several samples... could have just been a friend of the bartender though. Bottles are available to purchase, but they are for consumption on site only.

Yelp
Being a native of St Louis, I've been able to see Side Project grow from their first batches at Perennial Artisan Ales. One of the top breweries in the world, Side Project is a MUST while visiting the Lou. No matter if your style is Pilsner or IPA, Sour Ale or Stout, their Tap/Bottle Lists will impress and keep you coming back for more! If spending $7-12 on a Tap-Pour isn't your thing, head to Downtown St Louis for the Anheuser-Busch taproom. They will gladly pour you free adjunct beers. Side Project on the other hand has a World Class Menu with breweries and styles unavailable at any other bar in St. Louis. Highly recommend if you are a beer geek. Karen does a great job managing the Cellar and keep your eyes out for their Special Releases and "To-Go" brews. You do not want to leave the Side Project Cellar empty hande
google avatar

Christine M.

Yelp
Perennial's wild-ale-brewing off-shoot... a veritable wonderland of amazing funky brews! This is where the magic actually happens, as opposed to their off-site taproom, the Side Project Cellar. There is an actual taproom here at the brewery as well, and though the hours are quite a bit more limited than Cellar, the environment is *much* more relaxed and welcoming. I'm sooooo thankful for the welcome, as Side Project Bleuet du Fermier is THE beer that welcomed ME to sours, taught me that I *can* actually love that funk...SWOON! Most of the on-site beer is only available by the (not-inexpensive) bottle. So, if you want to try more than just 1 or 2 brews, either gather a group of several sour-loving pals and bring 'em along, or think about mingling - working the room pimping out trade-pours of your bottle for pours of others' bottles. It's not only allowed, it's encouraged... LOVE! We were lucky enough to be able to time our visit to coincide with Fermier Day, when Side Project releases new batches of fruited iterations of Saison du Fermier (this time around, Quetsche (plum), Peche (peach), Framboise (raspberry) ) and pulls some amazing aged bottles out of their "library" - all available for on-site consumption only, so certainly not something we'd normally come across outside of St. Louis...YAY!! Thanks to networking, we were able to have generous pours of 7 or 8 available beers (thing of beauty, given the $50-$80 price tag per bottle) and make some new friends in the process. And my long-term BFF du Fermier, bleuet, was actually ousted my new favorite, kriek... SideProject/MainSqueeze

Yelp
Stopped into The Side Project Cellar on Friday evening. Ordered two drafts, Side Project Abricot Du Fermier Blend #3 and Side Project Raspberry Biere Du Pays. Quality If I had more time I would have hung out at The Side Project Cellar all day. As the tasting room for Side Project Brewing, they showcase their incredible creations as well as have a great assortment of unique guest beers from across the world. During my visit I tried two Side Project beers, Abricot Du Fermier Blend #2 and Raspberry Biere Du Pays. I loved them both. The Abricot Du Fermier Blend #3 was a saison aged with apricots in French oak wine barrels for over a year. It is a very sour beer, but one that balances well with the fruit. It is extremely refreshing, making it a wonderful beer for a warm day. The Raspberry Biere Du Pays was excellent as well. This one took a table saison and aged it in an oak foedre with red and black raspberries. This one had a gorgeous red color and was surprisingly light. It reminded me a lot of an acidic white wine and really gained some amazing flavor from the berries. And although I only got to try two, I am fairly certain that the menu was filled with nothing but hits. These are complex beers that require time and patience, and Side Project is clearly putting in the work. Quantity The menu clearly details exactly what you should expect from your beer. From size to glass to temperature, they are very transparent about what you will get. Value Draft beers fall between $5 and $11, which is a little pricey, but well worth it. They also have some expensive and rare bottles available for true beer connoisseurs. Ambiance The Side Project Cellar is located in Maplewood area of St. Louis. The tasting room is found in this cute brick building in a quaint little area full of stores and singe family homes. The inside of the space is beautiful. Wood almost anywhere you look. It has an almost farmhouse vibe, the perfect match for the beers. The bar itself has a strange w-shape with an opening in the center, but it allows for a few extra stools. The space also has some seating towards the front entrance with a long couch and a few tables. They have a bookshelf full of games and books about beer for guests planning to hang out a while. The music selections were awesome, focused around indie and alternative rock. And as the sun started to go down the space became even cooler as the dim lighting gives the place a nice intimate feel. This would absolutely be my hangout if I lived in the area, and I completely understand why people will line up outside for their beer releases. Crowd The tasting room was very busy when I arrived. Almost every seat around the bar was filled and another small group had congregated towards the entrance. This is definitely a place that draws a more sophisticated beer crowd, folks willing to shell out some more money for specialty beers. It was primarily older guys and they all seemed to know the staff well. Service Friendly, knowledgable, and not pretentious. I will be honest, I was concerned this place would be beer snob central. I am happy to report I could not be more wrong. While they clearly are doing special things with their brews and have an incredible collection of guest beers available, they are just happy to share them. And though I may not recommend it for beer rookies, the staff is great at guiding guests through the complicated menu to find something they will enjoy. Parking The Side Project Cellar is right next to a large public parking lot on Marietta Avenue. Extra The Side Project Cellar is simply fantastic. Great beer, an amazing space, and super friendly staff. You are going to spend a bit more on beer here, but it is absolutely worth it. Just get ready for an incredible experience and allow the bartenders to guide you in the right direction.

Yelp
Wonderful wonderful wonderful beers! My boyfriend's favorite brewery, by a long shot. However, they are very limited in what the sell "to-go," and the beers are so exclusive that they are in very high demand. Most special releases sell out very quickly--minutes. They also do not serve food, which I think would add a lot to the dine in experience (during non-Covid times). They do curbside pick up during limited hours & it can be a bit of a cluster... that being said I will keep coming back again & again for their strange, fabulous brews. Just wish they had a wider entrance, more convenient access to do pick ups!

Yelp
Easily one of the best in the game. 2nd time flying to St Louis for beer/bbq. Side Project is a MUST. Take your time and enjoy their craft.

Yelp
Hip and trendy, but still with a homey, everyone-knows-everyone here vibe. Loved the selection of beers and can honestly say there wasn't a single one we sampled that didn't make us say "ooh, this is delicious". Side note, if you get just tipsy enough and need something to snack on... the nearby deli made for the perfect mid-beer tasting marathon intermission meal.

Yelp
This is a cool little beer joint that brews really good beer. It's small. If you have a large group you might have to split up to sit down. No bother though, your server or bartender should be over to help you quickly. The brewery brews small batches of beers of which they serve (along with many others) here in the Cellar, which is kind of their tasting room. Sometimes they'll have bottles available to purchase and take off site, but most what they have is only served on site. When I visited (summer time,) the menu featured mostly sours and farm house ales, some of which were aged in oak and wine barrels. I'm not sure if the styles change year-round, but if you like what I described then this is the spot for you. The bartenders and servers are quite helpful. After describing my tastes, they were able to point me in the right direction to a beer that would satisfy my palate. I'm not a local, but I can tell you if I was then I would definitely make this a regular stop. I enjoyed my visit and I think you will too.

Yelp
Atmosphere - 5star Food - None Staff: very friendly and helpful Drinks - outstanding. This is one of our favorites to visit. One thing that gets me is their prices. $$b They charge way to much for their beers and bottles. We would go more often but frankly it's just to pricey. we can have just as good a beer at 4 Hands, Civil Life Or urban Chestnut and enjoy ourselves just the same.

Yelp
I decided to try this place out and really liked it. There were a few small things that I think would make this place better but we can get to that in a minute. This is a newer place. They started at the location and having a drinking room in December of this past year so it is still pretty new. The place is nice and has nice long tables and very nice wooden chairs. We went in on a rainy Saturday afternoon and it was really busy so you can tell people like this beer. The place does not offer tours but they do have a viewing deck where you can watch the production of the beer. The bartenders are very nice and very knowledgeable about the beer they serve, They have a nice chalk board menu with the beers listed, a small description of beer type and what is in it, the alcohol content, how many ounces you will get and the price. The beers are pretty well priced. Most the beer pours are only 8 ounces but two were 14 ounces and I think a couple 6 ounces as well. The beer was very good. I tried the newest beer released and it has a great light taste. Now some of the set backs for me. First they do not have a flight of beer you can order. They told us you can get any beer they have that will be a half pour and will be half price off with .50 cents increase. I understand that, but it would have been better to just have a flight so someone could taste more beer. Second, they do not have food. Not sure if you can bring in food but if you want something to eat you cannot get that here. Third it is right next to a funeral home. I think it is kind of ironic their is a brewery on one side of the funeral home and then Gus's Fried Chicken on the other. Final set back is a tour would be nice. The deck is cool to see but a tour offers so much more. All in all this is nice place and I am sure the other beer is good. I hope this place does really well in the future.

Yelp
Great addition to Maplewood and a great place to enjoy a beer or two or three. They not only have a large selection of beers, but they have whiskey and wine as well. The atmosphere is minimalist, very stark and simple. As Kelly B., pointed out it is cute and cozy. Their serving hours are limited, Tue-Thu they are open 3PM-10PM and on Fri & Sat they open at 12PM and stay open an extra hour, closing at 11PM. SPC has a very friendly staff and the ones we spoke with are very knowledgeable about the brews they are serving. I'd recommend SPC as a great place to start your evening out or as a relaxing place to enjoy a beer after dinner on the main Manchester drag in Maplewood. Warning: Be aware of a step marked only by a strip of lights on the floor, leading you into the bar area. Several patrons arriving misstepped and stumbled while we were sitting at the main bar. No one got hurt, they just shook it off and laughed. Kind of embarrassing when you do misstep and you are sober. Hope they add some type of munchie soon, so you can stay longer and enjoy the LARGE variety of beers.

Yelp
So, this review is an average of the beer and service. Beer is amazing. Definitely a 4.5-5.0. Service varied and depending on your server it could be a 1 or a 5. Rachel was great. Friendly, insightful, and welcoming. She shared her beer knowledge and directed us toward her favorites and the most popular beers on the menu. Would come back if we lived here for her. The blue haired server made us feel unwelcome and mocked and criticized my inability to distinguish a brewery from a beer name, in my defense the font for breweries and beer names are the same. To illustrate, the font for the brewery on tap 1 is the same font for a beer name on tap 2. Also, I ordered the 'foedre' she snidely corrected my pronunciation under her breath and said it loud enough so that her correction was heard by myself and everyone at the bar and people looked my way like what did you do to piss her off. Instead of saying, by the way it is pronunced FOOD-er. (From my understanding the correct spelling is foeder anyway...so how was I to know how they pronounced the beer name. ) I have worked in fine dining, bars, restaurants so I know service depends on who you get and different strokes work for different folks. However, if service is as important to you as it is to me, because there is amazing beer everywhere, then consider this a heads up. Simple summary, great beer and ask for Rachel.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying the beer made by this brewery is 5/5 easily. Absolutely amazing. But the service by the staff is abhorrent. Embarrassing. Shameful. I'm talking about the female bartender with the multi-color (mostly blueish) hair, who is stand offish and can't even give you the time of day. At $9-12 a pour, an establishment can't afford to have a miserable person like this as one of the faces of their business. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved every single ounce of the beer I consumed while I was there. I spent hundreds of dollars over the course of a couple days, and she doesn't have the time (10 seconds maybe?) to take a photo of my brother and I who both serve in the military and haven't seen each other in years? Despicable. Cory: Your beer is better than this. It deserves to be served by people with a passion and friendly attitude, not boring and stand offish. Jesterking doesn't treat patrons like this. De Garde doesn't. SARA doesn't. Hire more friendly staff. Ones that can take 10 seconds to take a photo (it wasn't that busy). Ones that smile when you interact with them. Ones that are as passionate about your product as you are. Not ones that turn you off and make you not want to return. As much as I adore the beer put out by this brewery, I will never return due to the terrible service by the bar tending staff. Cannot recommend to anyone who likes being treated well.
