Google
Some friends recommended this place. It was a good value. We had the chefs special for 3-4 people. We ordered o e extra entree. Our group was 7 adults and one toddler. We had leftovers. Salad was very good. Edamame also good. Fried rice, noodles, ribs, chops, and beef were awesome. We will return when we are entertaining a group. Good value.

Google
Overall, our experience was just underwhelming. The food was just average at best. The quality definitely is mediocre. Pork chops were dry. Boneless Kalbi was tasty, but many of the pieces were tough and burnt. Garlic Chicken. The best dish of the night. Crunchy on the outside and moist and juicy inside. Full flavor. Chicken salad flavor was good, but chicken pieces were dry and hard.

Stop everything and get the poke. Fill up on the best fried rice of your life. Splurge on some pork chops and ROLL home (or back to your hotel) happy.

Google
I really wanted to like this place. I ate at the bar counter and the staff there were awesome. However, on their recommendation I ordered the Lilikoi baby back ribs and they were the worst baby back ribs I've ever had. Overcooked, dry and super tough to eat. The opposite of the juicy and tender ribs you expect. The only saving grace is the tangy Lilikoi Bbq sauce. Great vibe especially with the live music.

Google
Location & parking makes it less desirable to give this place a chance. But don't drive past -- every meal we ordered was savory & delicious, desserts included. Racked up a 300+ bill for Father's Day but it was worth it! Managed to get some pics of what we ordered, the others didn't get a chance 😆 and service is excellent! Just one less star due to limited parking but the place is 5 STARS for sure. Worth it!

Google
The portions are huge!!! We tried to control what we ordered and still had a ton leftover! Parking is very limited and reservations are suggested. The garlic edamame was amazing as was the fried chicken. The pork chops were a bit overcooked, and the ribs were yummy but I've had better down in Charleston SC. It's a fun place to eat, especially with a large group and I would recommend it to people but I wouldn't run back when we are in town again.

Family style dishes, seasoned to perfection. Great customer service.

Google
A positive experience with the Side Street Inn staff and restaurant. From setting up the reservation for 17 - a mix of kids, adults and seniors. The restaurant did a great job accommodating our large group. Kudos to our server Kaila, she was attentive and advised to order ONE for 6-8 guests from Chef Colin's Classics pre fixe menu. It did not disappoint the 'classics' were more than enough for our group as we also ordered gizzards, ribeye and a chef special of wings. Great food was accompanied by live music/entertainment which complimented a great night. Will be visiting again.

Yelp
Get ready to walk out with pants unbuttoned and a doggy bag. 1. A friend recommended this place and we stopped by dinner. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs because we had leftovers for a few meals. 2. Between two, we ordered crispy skin roast pork, shoestring french fries, signature fried rice, and signature garlic chicken. Because we were unaware of the portion sizes, everyone around us (including us) had eyes wide open as our food was brought out. There were some giggles too. Unless you're super hungry, maybe don't order as much or come with more people! 3. It's hard to pick a favorite item because everything was delicious. The fried rice was flavorful and had so many toppings. The garlic chicken was so yummy, crispy, and juicy. Roast pork was super crispy and you can never go wrong with shoestring fries. 4. Side Street Inn is probably one of my favorite spots on the island - highly recommend.

Yelp
My wife and I come here every so often for a casual beverage and food experience and we've always like it here. Today 5:00 reservation was no exception but to our surprise they had a guitarist singing local songs by the entrance which was a nice addition to the place. Good is always good and service is as well. Orders a marg and tap beer served quickly. They bar was empty and the place was not busy. Our Chinese chix salad came out right away and our chix gizzards soon there after However, be it a large party in the private room or kitchen missed the order, our pork chops took over 20 minutes. They were good as usual but didn't get to eat them with the salad as we intended. Oh well, Life happens. I'm sure we'll be back soon and hope the guitar player does as well.

Yelp
The shear amount of food was overwhelming. We went with the family style meal for 4 and it was enough food for 6-8! And every bite of that food was delicious. This is a local place down a side street that tourists would walk right by as quickly as possible. But we were with locals who knew the place to eat. The clean sleek vibe inside was surprising based on the outside surroundings. The service was great as well, but be prepared that valet parking seemed to be the norm. Unless you know the area and where to park offsite, budget a ride share or plan for valet.

Sandra K.

Yelp
The vibes at Side Street Inn is always so chill and homely. I usually see large groups of people gathering here for a meal. This is our first time to this location. Different decor and vibes than the other location, but still all good. We ordered: Fried chicken: yummy crispy outside, juicy inside chicken. They were made w boneless skin-on chicken thighs. Skin was super crispy. Short rib: good flavor, good amount Fried rice: big heaping amount. Was good. Gizzards: didn't try but looked really crispy! Food was priced accordingly to its huge portions. We had leftovers to take back to enjoy the next day. No one ever leaves Side Street Inn hungry.

Tiger F.

Yelp
Food here is delicious, plentiful with a fair price. Make sure you have reservations. Fried pork chops are crispy, well seasoned and moist. Boneless Kalbi tender, moist and beefy perfection. You want this in your mouth! Kimchi fried rice was as tall as the Matterhorn...seriously. Just get there and grind. Dining area relaxed and comfortable. They will valet for you.

Yelp
All-time favorite. The inside looks different from the last time I've been there. Service was great. Waited about 5 minutes before we were seated. (Make reservations ahead of time.) There was a one man band that served as entertainment and he was pretty good. Food does not disappoint. There were plenty of leftovers to take home.

Yelp
TRY THE PORK CHOPS & FRIED RICE!!! So we had a very large group attend and eat at this establishment. We really enjoyed how clean and open it was. We ordered the family meal deal that comes with practically everything. Our favorite was the pork chop and fried rice!! Everything was great and it came out pretty quick, the service did not disappoint as well. We walked in and it wasn't too busy, they took our order and served us with smiles on their faces... We shall be back Side Street Inn...

Linda Y.

Yelp
We had family joining us so we thought side street inn would be the perfect place. We ordered the smaller pre fixe (for 3-4) and there was so much food! The portions are very large. There were 10 of us but included 4 children. Still so much food for 6 adults. Hubby liked the yakisoba (not on pre fixe) and one of the specials was steamed snapper (Chinese style), the table enjoyed the fish. The foods that were on the pre fixe was fried rice, fried pork chop, garlic fried chicken, huge salad, boneless kalbi. Everything was delicious. Also we were happily surprised but were given a happy hour discount.

Yelp
This spot (there are two locations) is on my top 3 best eats in the island for sharing food with a big group for a meal (we had 10-12 people and ordered their big group special). Service was friendly and warm. It has a casual ambiance and every dish we ate was 10/10: flavor of the fried rice and chicken were some of the most memorable.

Grace L.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday night. We were at the Ala Moana Mall and most of the food courts were closing. After calling, we rushed here right at 8pm and although they were closing, they graciously accommodated our group of 6. Parking- not so easy. The restaurant is located on a small and narrow street. No handicapped parking. Service- excellent and fast. Food- we ordered 4 dishes and it was plenty for the 6 adults. - Farmers Salad: it has a light vinaigrette dressing. Really refreshing spring salad with shrimp, avocado and capers. Highly recommend it - Signature Fried Rice: huge portion with cha siu. - Sizzling boneless Kalbi: tender and enough fat content. Came with kimchi. Grilled well and flavorful - garlic fried chicken: big chunks of thigh meat fried perfectly. A sweet garlic soy sauce was drizzled on the crispy pieces. All the dishes were just absolutely scrumptious. Restrooms- it is narrow and challenging if you need wheelchair accessibility Return Factor- YES! Absolutely just to try the other dishes and for that Farmers salad.

Russ L.

Yelp
Overall, our experience was just underwhelming. The food was just average at best. The quality definitely is mediocre. Pork chops were dry. Boneless Kalbi was tasty, but many of the pieces were tough and burnt. Garlic Chicken. The best dish of the night. Crunchy on the outside and moist and juicy inside. Full flavor. Chicken salad flavor was good, but chicken pieces were dry and hard.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were on vacation and stayed in the Waikiki area. We were looking on Yelp for something to eat, and we saw Side Street Inn as an option. My Grandpa also told us that we should come here one of the days to grab something to eat. It was hard to find at first because you have to drive through an alley and there is limited parking. They did have valet parking, so we were able to do that instead. When you walk in, it seems like a sports bar type of restaurant because they had multiple TVs playing college football and a bar area for walk in seating. We were lucky enough where there was walk in seating available, otherwise I recommend you call for reservations. The portions were HUGE! I wish we were able to order more, but my boyfriend and I wouldn't be able to finish. The garlic chicken tasted like a Korean style fried chicken with a soy garlic sauce and the garlic fries were soooo good! We were fighting to get the last few of the fries. Definitely would come back to try the other dishes.

Carolyn P.

Yelp
Excellent food and huge portions! The Garlic Chicken was one of the best things I have eaten in a long time! It was just my husband and me so we brought the leftovers back to our hotel and it was still awesome cold! I will go back next time we are in Hawaii! Friendly staff and good music as well.

Claudine R.

Yelp
A staple on Oahu. How can you not come here. Service was great. Really friendly. The food is even better. Got the da works fried rice ans pork. The pork is breaded and fried which keeps it moist. Also got the potato Mac salad and the crispy peanut butter bar for dessert. Also got a house salad. The dressing on the salad was really good. Large portions. The potato Mac salad with both macaroni and potatoes was nice. The peanut butter crisp tastes like just like a nutty buddy. I'll go back and you should try in

Linna S.

Yelp
Ok, let's us start talking about the service. Service was great, the host is friendly amd letting us know what is the wait time since we dont have any reservation and i don't think they accepting reservation for 2 peoples also our server was nice and attentive. Now we are talking about the food, we ordered 3 things for both us, their famous fried chicken, fried rice and fried pork chop ( i know all is fried thing). We love the chicken and the pork chop, the fried rice though if they make it less salty, will be great. Unfortunately the chef cooked our fried rice a bit salty and we cannot finish it. We didn't complained about it because we just too tired after walking around the whole day and was so hungry. Anw, we enjoyed the fried chicken and the pork chop. Will be back for sure but not for the fried rice.

Kayla P.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying before coming to this establishment I went through all the negative reviews and found that the majority were people who aren't from Hawai'i and were not understanding of the culture here. With that being said, the food here was absolutely delicious. Combine that with an establishment that doesn't try and cater to tourists you get a genuine greeting by respectful staff. Overall, I give this establishment a 93.7 due to the quality and quantity of food they give you, the friendly service, and relaxed but chaotic ambiance this establishment has. I did take away a couple of points for how difficult finding parking is, however that is everywhere in Hawai'i so please don't let that discourage you from trying this awesome restaurant!

Tiffany C.

Yelp
This place was highly recommended from friends. we decided to stop by and eat while in Hawaii. Not a fan of the valet parking cost $7 just to eat here. We had 3 people and ordered the prefix meal serve 3-4 people. Each plate of food came out in huge portions. Ir is quite pricy but it makes up for the huge portions. It is definitely for 5-6 people of food and not 3-4. Food were very good and have a lot of flavors. I would come back if I happen to be in Hawaii but I would not be ordering the prefix Chef Colin's Classics meal. Way too much for 3-4 people. We packed most of the food back to the hotel and ate it for dinner the next day. Edamame Farmers salad Fried rice Boneless kalbi ribs Pan fried pork chops Garlic fried chicken Overall, service is good and the food was delicious but parking sucks.

Winston C.

Yelp
One of the top restaurants in the area -- from the taste and quality to price and portions. Make a reservation before hand. And come hungry because their portion size is abnormally large. We came with 4 adults and ordered 3 dishes: signature garlic chicken, "da works" fried rice and whole tai snapper. We consumed everything but it was a bit of a challenge. Their signature garlic chicken is one of the better fried chickens I've had. Totally recommend it. The "da works" fried rice is a mountain with flavorful chinese sausage and fish was well prepared and well-cooked. Parking was difficult so we did valet ($7 + tip). This was comfort food for us especially after eating a lot of different things here.

Mariecon P.

Yelp
Great place for large parties and shareable food. Walked in and they didn't have any available counter tables but they had the bar seating open. Will surely reserve a table next time. The service and food was good. We ordered the kalbi, pork chop, fried rice, and garlic chicken.

Debbie N.

Yelp
Food absolutely delicious and the best on our short trip to the islands. Did my research and knew that plates were large and it was just my husband and I so we ordered appropriately but also had light lunches the days we visited. My husband really enjoyed the food, so much that he said we should go back the next night. We came early at opening (we were still on east coast time) and were pleasantly surprised to see that there is a happy hour discount. We liked the ambiance - big screens had the NHL playoffs on - yay for us! Staff super friendly and good amount of people eating there even though it was early and mid week. The first night we got the pork chops, the small farmers salad and one side rice with furikake. The second night we got the sizzling kalbi, the poke special of the day, and a side rice with furikake. So much food we left full both nights. Loved the salad, very fresh which offset the richness of the pork chops. Putting spoonfuls of the poke on top of the rice was heaven. We can't wait to go back.

Lana C.

Yelp
4.5, not quite 5 for the food. All service hot and tasty. Huge portions so prepare to bring home a box. Or bring many friends, order several dishes and go family style. The Kim chi fried rice was not overly sour, the kalbi beef was sliced like Steak and was very tender. The crispy fried pork belly was Crunchy and tender. The towering mound of Chinese chicken salad had the right amount of tang. The fried chicken gizzards were yummy but the tendon within was unpleasant. We got seated right away despite it having many patrons inside; this is because it has many seats. Servers were attentive and friendly. The live music was great and added to the fun sports bar vibe. You won't be disappointed when you eat here. Would recommend and would return again.

Nini M.

Yelp
Must try!!! Really good for big parties. We got the chef special combo and totally worth it! We had 10 people and we had to take to go! We ordered extra fried rice which we didn't even need!! The garlic boneless chicken is to die for!!!!! Must must get. He pork chops were amazing and the kalbi short ribs were fire!! The server was so good and friendly!!

Amy L.

Yelp
The first time I came here, I regretted being too full to eat the food. I knew I had to come back once day with an empty stomach to eat here and give it justice. And it didn't disappoint. My family and I made a reservation and ordered the Chef Colin's Classics. It's a set meal that cost $150 for 3-4 people portions. The menu also has a bigger version that can feed 6-8 people! It comes with edamame, salad, fried rice, pork chops, fried chicken, and boneless kalbi. The portions here are so generous. This set can easily feed 5 people! The food tastes so wholesome and hardy. The pork chops were so impeccable! Crisp exterior, savory juicy interior with so much flavor! I didn't get their alcoholic milkshakes this time but you should give it a try. The PB milkshake is delicious! The ambiance is very casual but busy. There was live music being played but there is a bar and people are watching TV as well. This place is a definite must to visit when I come to Hawaii with a group of people.

Angel H.

Yelp
I was here for a party the other night. There was about 25 of us and we got entrees to share. They also reserved the back room for our party, which was great. We had privacy and got to be all loud. The food used to be top notch. On that night it was mediocre at best. We ordered a salad, soybeans, fried rice, pork chops, kalbi, garlic chicken, fried noodles and sizzling steak. The best item of the night was the salad. That sweet and tart dressing was amazing. The shrimp could have been larger. The pork chops were fresh out of the fryer, but for some reason wasn't crispy. It had no taste, so I slathered on the ketchup. The garlic chicken had a nice marinade, but was tough and hard. The fried rice and noodles were just ok. The sizzling steak and kalbi were good. It had a nice flavor and wasn't too chewy. Even though the food wasn't great, we all had a great time. Hopefully, it was just an off night.

Sotha P.

Yelp
Just landed in Hawaii for Father's Day and while we can't go to our room until 3:00 we decided to get something to eat to kill time. I remember my first trip to Hawaii and we ate here everything was soo good. Unfortunately everything was not soo good that day. The fried chicken to me still have good flavors but I felt like they pre fried it hours ago and just left it in some kind of warmer. So the crispness of the chicken wasn't there . We also ordered the fried rice. Even tho the portions was huge the fried rice to me lack flavor. I don't know how our rice was cold in the middle. I think they batch cook the rice hours ago and just reheat them to order. 1 thing we ordered that came out hot and delicious was the beef galbi. Overall, really disappointed with this place !

Jill H.

Yelp
The food here is awesome!!! Each dish was so delicious and served as full on large portions. We ordered the fried pork chops, crispy pork skins, the special fried rice and crispy fried chicken. Each dish was full of flavor, and both the chicken and pork chops were super moist (not greasy) and very crispy. The crispy chicken tasted of bits of fresh garlic and sprinkled with a sweet teriyaki sauce. But not too much sauce so as to not ruin the crispy skin. The roast pork was freshly made and served slightly seared to produce an extra crispy skin. So delish! The fried rice was filled with meat products to give each forkful some added flavor! But, O. My. Goodness, the pork chops were so broke da mouth ono! I mean each bite was so flavorful, moist and worth each bite! My family and I last visited Side Street in 2017... and have been talking about the great food for all these years. So you can imagine how thrilled we were to finally return. I made reservations so as not to miss out in getting a table. The staff were so friendly and attentive. They often checked on us despite the large groups the filled the seats. The kitchen was pretty quick and due to the large portions, waitress brought us take home containers. The food here is super ono and located just ewa of the Ala Moana shopping center on Hopaka Street! You have got to check it out!

Dick F.

Yelp
The mushrooms were REALLY good, as was the fried rice. The pork chops I had were not really anything to write home about. Lots of fat to them. The breading and seasoning was tasty. However if I were to come back here again I think I'd opt for the Garlic Chicken. So much for the waitresses recommendation when asked would you get the pork or the garlic chicken? I followed her suggestion and kind of regret it.

Julie W.

Yelp
I've been trying to get here since pre-Covid. Finally! We had their famous pan-fried pork chops which everyone recommends. It was very meaty with some fat and crisp. My husband loved it. This was his favorite meal on our trip. We ordered a side of macaroni potato salad on the side. It was flavored just right. The Farmers Salad is the most ordered salad. It's mixed green and has avocado, shrimp, grape tomatoes, capers, Maui onions, and a red wine vinaigrette. I would have preferred shaved raw Okinawan potato curls instead of crisp ones. I think Organic tomatoes would have made it more enjoyable. Dessert was the baked haupia puffs. It was warmed up puff pastry filled with haupia filling and topped with homemade vanilla ice cream, whip cream, a cherry and a light chocolate drizzle. We had leftover pork & salad. This place would be great for groups so you can order more food.

Richard H.

Yelp
Crazy how I've never wrote a review for this place! Been here before this place renovated, but I do miss the old counter leathered counter seats. Although, after recently dining in with a group of friends the setting has changed (For the better) but the customer service and atmosphere of this place has always remained the same. If you're ever looking for a last minute place to eat this is probably your spot! With live music, LARGE portions of food, and just friendly local aunty and and uncles to talk story - this place never disappoints. Although parking is a little difficult as it is very limited. They do offer valet parking! Food - Pork chops are a must! My personal favorite and go to is the kimchee friend rice. This is your warning! This place is serves FAMILY since portions, so make sure you have maybe 4+ People coming with you! I mean, we had a group of 4, but couldn't finish the dishes that we ordered. All in all, highly recommend this place for any celebrations, get-togethers, or take out! Truly a local staple, and a great place to make meaningful memories!

Yelp
It's been a while since our last visit, which was on my mom's birthday. This time, we decided to have dinner here, and it was a positive experience overall. The only downside was the parking situation, but finding free parking in town can be challenging, so we opted for valet parking at a reasonable cost of $7. The valet attendant was friendly and efficient. We had a 7 pm reservation but arrived at 6:23 pm, and they seated us right away, earning them a solid 9/10 for accommodation. Our server was quick to take our drink and appetizer orders and gave us ample time to decide on our main courses. After a brief wait, she returned to take our order. We ordered the Signature Fried Rice, Bone-in Kalbi, Yakisoba, and Pork Chops. Remarkably, our food arrived within 10-15 minutes, even though the restaurant was quite busy, earning them a well-deserved 10/10 for speed. The food itself was delicious, easily deserving a perfect 10/10 rating. The highlight of the evening was the live music performance on a Wednesday night, adding to the overall enjoyment of our dinner. Everyone in our party, including my kids and wife, left satisfied and with leftovers to take home. The entire dining experience was exceptional, and I would definitely return. The prices were justified, especially considering the generous portions. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. In summary, my experience was outstanding, and I would rate this restaurant 10/10.

Cole N.

Yelp
Just tried Side Street and it's definitely a winner! The valet service was clutch as street parking is difficult to find. Service was pretty quick, which is always appreciated. Started with the garlic fries--yum! Only wish they came with ranch dressing as well. For mains, we indulged in fried rice, garlic chicken, and crispy pork. Portions were massive and each dish was top-notch. My personal favorite is the garlic chicken--crispy and bursting with flavor. Ended up needing three takeaway boxes because we couldn't finish it all! Overall, great food, fair prices, and solid service.

Brennan T.

Yelp
Great service, great food! There was live music when a friend and I met up for dinner on a Tuesday. We got there early around 5:15pm. There were a few other groups, and we were seated after the server cleared off our table. The server was very nice and attentive. And the food is always great. We got the garlic chicken, lup cheong kimchi fried rice, and the bbq ribs. Everything was great, and the portions were huge. We each took home a big plate of leftovers. Parking is tight on the street, and there's no designated lot. Valet is available, or park at Ala Moana and walk over. Pro tip: The portions are big and are meant to be shared. Don't think you can finish a plate of fried rice by yourself!

Ed T.

Yelp
On the recommendation from my brother, we visited Side Street Inn and it was GREAT! The food was outstanding and "Tiger", our server, was extremely attentive. The restaurant is loud...probably due in part because it was packed and people were enjoying the food and couldn't stop talking about it. Our party of four ordered the family classic meal...said it serves 3-4...easily could have fed six...and still have food to take home. Starting with the salad and through the fried rice, pork chops, garlic chicken, and the delicious, grilled perfectly, "I'll worry about my cholesterol tomorrow" beef...just so frigging delicious. I'm telling you...this is the REAL DEAL! Definitely a return visit each time we visit the area

Mark D.

Yelp
We decided to eat here for a little get together with the family. We had a reservation at 5 pm but got there a little early. The staff was able to get us in earlier which was nice. It gave a sports bar vibe and it was a nice touch since we came on a Sunday. Our server recommended for us to get their Prix Fixe meals which consist of edamame, toss salad with vinaigrette, their signature fried rice, garlic chicken, fan fried pork chops and sizzling boneless kalbi. She noted that their portions are generous and will defiantly fill us up. We also decided to try their french fries and 12 oz sizzling ribeye. The edamame and salad came out first. It was a nice little starter before the big boy foods come out. Edamame was okay and their salad was good. I enjoyed their vinaigrette. The next item that came out was the sizzling kalbi and ribeye. Both smelt sooo good made your mouth water as they both sizzled. The fried rice was next and then the chicken and pork chop followed. The portions for everything was HUGE. After everything was on the table, it was time to dig in. I got a bit of everything and the small plates they provided was loaded with food. My favorite would probably be their ribeye. We had it medium well and it was perfect. Tender, juicy and a bit charred, just how i like it. The chicken was also tasty and the skin was extra crispy. The pork chops was enjoyable. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The fried rice was good but with all the different meats we had, i think regular rice would be a better combo. After eating, we needed a few boxes as there was so much food leftover. Staff was friendly and checked up on us regularly. There is also valet parking which is $7 in case there is no parking near by.

Yelp
While Kapahulu was the first location I visited with friends for family style meals, the ala Moana location has the lunch plates for me and all of my lonesome. Really I love the lunch plates to get a little bit of everything I'm craving when I don't have enough people for a whole family. The only thing with takeout... It's harder to get the peanut butter brownie crunch. Aka my favorite part of side street. Wish it was sold without the ice cream. All the portions correlate with the price and the quality of the product. It's nice to have both locations :)

Serina L.

Yelp
You will never find me asking you to go eat fried chicken. It's just not my favorite "fried" or "comfort food" of choice. So it's not you, it's me. We parked at Ala Moana parking garage and walked over. We had a reservation booked a few weeks in advance and were seated right away. We ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad, Signature Fried rice, and of course, the Signatured Garlic Chicken. First of all, the service was super fast! Our salad came out almost immediately after ordering. The first thing we noticed is that the portions are huge. The salad could easily feed 3-4 people with second servings. I do wish the dressing was heavier and there was less celery. Probably wouldn't order this again, but wanted something light to pair with the rice and chicken. The fried rice was pretty good too, it comes with char-siu, Portugese sausage, and bacon. It was a good carb to balance out the salad. The green onions on top were fresh and balanced the dish well. Definitely a unique flavor, and not traditional Chinese fried rice like. The fried chicken....omg. Yes I don't normally crave or enjoy fried chicken like that, but this fried chicken was unwordly. The breading is not too thin or thick, and each bite has the perfect soy-garlic taste. It's more sweet than savory, but it works so well. The chicken comes out piping hot and is so tender and I can't get enough. If there's one thing you order IT'S THE FRIED CHICKEN!

Ofelia S.

Yelp
This place was highly recommended by a local family member. "You have to go eat at Side Street Inn before going home" Before you come make sure you build a HUGE appetite. Oh Boy, this place "BrokeDaMouth" very tasteful and big portions. We ordered the Chef Colin's Classic, Prix Fixe family style. You're able to try the most popular dishes and still have some to take home. We were a party of 4. This place will NOT disappoint. There is Valet parking for $7 or you can self park and pay per hour. Self parking is cheaper. The service was awesome. She made sure we tried the best dishes and kept checking up on us.

Yelp
Best food in town! Get the pork chops, kalbi, fried rice and edamame and you're good to go. One of my favorite local spots!

Yelp
Side street inn is our all time favorite weekend place to eat. We enjoy the Ala Moana location more it's never too crowded and very clean. We have three staple foods we always order. Everything on their is delicious always cooked to perfection. Our server was very friendly and quick to fulfill our needs. Food came out quickly and never disappoints.

Yelp
Unbelievably FANTASTIC food. Okay, first of all, it's Hawaiian comfort food. So, maybe not the healthiest, but it is the best tasting. SOOOOOO GOOD. Wait staff is world class. I enjoyed every minute. Go there, you won't sorry.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place based on reviews, but it was a little underwhelming. I might be a bit unfair, but I was hoping for more. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were both very nice and helpful. We tried the garlic chicken and it was alright. It was fried to be very crispy and juicy but I thought the sauce made it a bit more oily than desirable. I will say that the portions are HUGE here and I would be willing to come back and try more of their dishes. You might have a different opinion than I do, so I wouldn't dissuade someone from going.

Yelp
Great location and perfect for group outings and family dinner. Decent size portions, clean establishment We came here for Christmas dinner since take out was booked. It was nice to venture out on Christmas and see so many out enjoying the weather with family. Food was quite tasty especially the Kal Bi beef tender and well seasoned. The chops were mediocre and the chicken was tasty but not enough sauce and should have been cut in smaller pieces. KimChae should come with most dishes not just the beef. Overall a 4, I'd come back here to dine again. I know exactly what to order

Yelp
side street inn is one of my favorite places to go with a big group! portions are so generous and the food is delicious. the group meals are severely underestimated in portion size. the menu says the small size chef classics would serve 3-4 people and the large feeds 6-8 but the small can actually feed 6-7, and I would say the large feeds 10-12. we accidentally ordered two of the large sizes for 10 people and had sooo many leftovers. we were eating side street inn for days after! if it's your first time, I highly recommend the chef's classics. then you can try the other stuff next time haha.

Yelp
The food portion is large but the quality is subpar. The food was not good as I expected but okay. Ate there only once to try, but definitely not a second time.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended - kept missing the street so a 7 min walk turned into a 20 min wandering and finally found the place . Realized why it is called the side street inn. We didn't realize we needed reservations- I guess it's highly recommended. We were quickly seated by the hostess with no problem. They have big screen tvs playing all the sports channels husband was super stoked! This place is family style and the portions are super generous! Our first day in Honolulu and first meal tonight and it's going to be one that is hard to beat! Our hostess Tory was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. We started off with drinks I had the local Hawaiian Hibiscus Lavender Hard Seltzer (perfect) and husband ended up with two Old Fashion. He said they are very generous with their liquor like the food. We shared the "half portion" of the farmers salad with the shrimp on the side ( not a huge fan of shrimp but husband is) Tory suggested and offered to provide the shrimp on the side. The salad was so fresh and the portion was huge. The capers in the salad and the vinaigrette was the sealed the salmon this beautiful and bountiful salad. Can we talk about the crispy chicken gizzards - it's the locals favorite! If you are a chicken gizzards fan this dish is a MUST. Comes with ketchup and hawaiian salt. Who knew ketchup with gizzards! I have to say the size, the crisp and freshness gizzards was by far one of the best I've ever had! Bravo!!! The kimchee fried rice is their signature fried rice with kimchee and it did not disappoint and paired perfectly with the gizzard. I'll just have to eat it for breakfast for the next 4 days husband is taking orange cream float to go and consuming it in our walk back to our place. Thank you Tory for the friendly and helpful service and making our dining experience so fun and satisfying!!! Highly highly recommend. Definitely get a bang for your buck here - food of this quality and portion is usually charged higher in most places! The ambiance is very clean spacious with locals and visitors.k

Yelp
Delicious comfort food with huge portions! We came with 6 adults and 1 kid and we ordered the Chef Colin Classics and a whole fish for 3-4 people and it was plenty of food for us! Love how there was a live ukulele/singer playing while we hung out!

Yelp
Local food at its best! So glad my husband found this restaurant online and urged us to try it. Since we are visitors to the Island, we took an Uber. However, there is valet offered too. We were warmly greeted upon entering and were seated shortly. It was helpful that our waitress mentioned that food was served family style. We ordered the fresh kajiki poke, Chinese style steamed Basa (fish) , signature garlic chicken, sizzling boneless kal bi and white rice with furikake. Believe it or not this order was for only three people. Our server was nice and did not judge us for ordering so much. But, when the food arrived, we were shocked /surprised as to the portions! Huge amount of food! Every dish was delicious. My daughter thought it was the best poke she's had ever. I have to agree the poke was uniquely seasoned. The steamed fish was very good too. It was flavorful with interesting ingredients. The garlic chicken was perfectly crispy and tasty reminding me of Korean fried chicken. The sizzling beef was our favorite though with a two layers of meat on a hot plate. Great marinade on the beef. ( Ask what the market price is , if you care to know the cost . Otherwise, just enjoy and pay later.) The white rice was perfect for all the flavorful dishes. This place has great food and live music. It's a casual place that the locals enjoy. Definitely worth a trip off the beaten path.

Yelp
Side Street Inn is a eatery that has to be on your to do eat list. If you have a large party, you can order the Prie fixe dinner special or order Ala Carte. We ordered the Prie fixe dinner special for 4-6 people and we had lots of left overs and our party was 8. This Side Street Inn is the original restaurant located on Hopaka St across from Ala Moana shopping center. This eatery is known to be the gathering place for several of the island's celebrity chefs like Roy Yamaguchi, Alan Wong, Russell Sui, etc. So you know the food served is top notch. The food items in the Prie fixe dinner are Side Street Inn famous pan-fried pork chops, boneless Kalbi, spicy garlic fried chicken, special fried rice, pan fried noodles and edamame. My favorites are the Kalbi, spicy garlic fried chicken and the fried rice. All the food in the Prie fixe dinner are good. You cannot go wrong.. I highly recommend coming to Side Street Inn for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Wow, Side Street never disappoints! I came here with my girlfriends last month and enjoyed the food and entertainment so much I wanted my family to experience it. The food was fabulous as usual! Cannot go wrong ordering Colin's favorites! Bring a big gang and order this. You won't regret it! And save room for their onolicious desserts! Thank you, Tori, your service was excellent! Everything was so good. Local entertainers here are always great, but come if you can when Ellsworth Simeona is playing. My 93 year old mom loved him so much that she stood up and did a dance! Thank you, Ellsworth, for a memorable evening. Priceless memories! Kaneohe/Kalihi strong!
