Yelp
I live near Sidelines and I've grown up near the area, but had never been.
My cousin and I decided to meet for a drink, we both were having a rough started to our week and wanted a chill place to meet.
First impression:
The Bar was exactly what we were looking for, clean and hand full of chill people.
The bartender, an older gentleman wearing a security guard T-shirt, checked our IDs and asked for our drink order.
Except: He didn't know where to find the jäger for my cousins drink, and called to A female bartender who was playing pool and too busy to walk the 5 steps to show him where it was...
Drinks: Decent.
We found a high table off to the side and began to hash out each other's week. I should note that my cousin and I are Petite Woman, under 5'3 average to slim build, she in her mid 20's, I early 30's. Both of us have high level professional careers in our field and were dressed conservatively.
The picture I'm trying to make is that we are not party animals(well not anymore), we have money, we are not addicted to drugs, and we do not cause trouble. The image we display, I can say confidently is classy.
My cousin unfortunately smokes cigarette, we stepped out front while she smoked. Our way back in we decided to use the restroom. Yes, we are girls and we go together. The bathroom is a single room, and clean.
Weirdo Bartender:
The older male Bartender I mention saw us walk towards the bathroom. As soon as I locked the door I heard a loud pounding on the door that did not stop until my cousin quickly finished peeing and washed her hands.
At first I thought oh wow someone must really have to go, and expecting to see another woman do the pee dance I was meet with creepy stare of the old man bartender. His guy towers over the two of us easily. Creeper didn't say a word just watch is walk back to our table in the corner of the bar.
Creeped out we decided to call it a night, the time 10pm.
When my cousin tried to close out her tab, she was ignored by the female bartender, and had to wait 10mins to finally close her tab.
Reminder this is Wednesday night in South San Jose, had to be a total of 12 people tops in the bar.
The impression we got was that this local neighborhood bar dose not like new people.
I have no idea why the male bartender knocked so hard on the bathroom door, there were no lines, and no one went running into the bathroom after us.
We will not be back, and we'll advise everyone we know not to waste time at this Bar.
Just to recap, the bar itself seemed chill and clean, the people who work there are weird and rude!
